Please read my edit. It should answer the question. Your whole map defending your kee kitten omething that is normal. Groups of quite literally 70-80 roaming the map to take camps or towers is excessive and breaks the game.

So, I figured out why everyone is so high on “GvG”. Certain guilds will never fight on their own in the field because of their [perceived] lack of skill and would rather form a murder ball of 80 people to justify that they are “good” at WvW. The desire for GvG comes from the fact that it is the only way to have a balanced fight since you will never see certain guilds outside of their native habitat of the mega-zerg.

Grow a pair a fight under your own guild’s name. I encourage no one to give “props” to anything these super zergs do while in the field. They are abusing a game mechanic and there is nothing to congratulate there.

1st off we only had about 15 and the rest were random. At most we had 25-30 total. Might have seemed like more due to how quickly you died. So I can forgive your blatant exaggeration.

2nd – FEAR was not invited to your little “casual” event so we felt slighted and acted accordingly. Next time it would behoove you to possibly send us an invite.

Kaineng is at an interesting spot right now – a crossroads if you will. Perhaps not next reset but most certainly the one after Kaineng will be in tier 1. And for that I congratulate you. I am uncertain how competent your NA crew is but I have heard much about War Machine. From what I understand Kaineng’s meteoric rise is largely due to WM. And for that I congratulate them.

What remains to be seen, and what will be tested in the very near future, is just how far WM can carry you. Please do not take this as an insult to your server. Your server as a whole, and thereby all of the guilds who participate in WvW, should be applauded.

I’ll be watching your point tally very closely once you get into tier 1. I am curious how well your NA presence will be able to hold up against JQ and BG. I’m even more curious how well WM will hold up during their prime time.

Being from SoR myself…..I am quite curious indeed.

DaBleuberry, if you are established on your server then simply rally your forces behind you. Get as many as you can together and flip a map as quickly as possible. Don’t worry about upgrading keeps/towers but constantly be on the move and switch maps often. Keep the other 2 servers guessing where you will hit next. Eventually you will catch them unprepared and on a more level playing field.

It will take some time but once word gets out that you can be relatively effective using guerilla tactics you will marshal even more. This is really all you can do if you are that outnumbered. Keep in mind at all times…..a group of 30 working in concert via voice communications can take out a group twice that size in the field.

Endeavor to persevere.

LotD would like to apologize for the glitch that occurred at Sunny Hill tower just now (a few minutes ago). The game glitched three people from our guild through the door while we and another guild were attacking with five superior rams.

When they ended up on the other side of the door they announced it in TS and I told them to get out of the tower. The door was almost down and I believe it came down before they got out.

LotD is a guild with 17 years of gaming history and does not condone cheating by our guild. If the members had intentionally glitched they would have been kicked form the guild immediately.

We had a great time in our fights in T1 against JQ and SoR last week. I have the utmost respect for EMP and hope you realize this was not an intentional incident.

I sincerely hope that this thread can keep the same tone throughout the week. As a player from SoR the PPT count was only going to be in our favor during NA prime time. I think we represented our server quite well. JQ proved yet again that they are the current kings of the hill. BG proved that they deserve not only to be in tier 1 but that they deserve the 2nd spot…..for now. I was pleasantly surprised to see how well BG did last week.

All the talk about server transfers means nothing – it is what it is. Quite frankly, and I think JQ will agree with this, BG getting those transfers only made tier 1 more exciting. Regrettably SoR can only truly represent during the NA time slot but we will continue to bring the fight to our opponents. I do not envy our Oceanics yet I am proud to have them with us. Should SoR ever get a large influx of Oceanic and European guilds then tier 1 would be a true 3 way fight.

And who wouldn’t enjoy that?

I had a blast in SoS BL this evening. Even though we kept portalling into bay and fought valiantly each time we were eventually pushed out. The reaction time was spot on from the defenders as well. Just as the circle came up, after about 5 mins of fighting, we were eventually overwhelmed.

But that is the fun of it – getting so close to your objective only to have it wrenched away at the last moment only serves to make ya want to come back and try harder the next time. I should add that the never ending swarm of JQ at Vale turned out to be the highlight of the night.

Much thanks goes to both JQ and SoS for keeping the evening interesting and more importantly entertaining. I hope I can expect as much for the rest of this matchup and I sincerely wish that we all meet again very soon after the next reset.

Was fun running with the yaks. And in TS Bav tried to make sure no one attacked. At least not from FEAR. Lucky for me people from TC like plush griffons and I was only attacked a few times.

Turned on the FEAR tag once just to see what would happen. Oops. lol

edit – never let it be said that players from SoR can’t have a little fun.

The only thing that bothers me about the reset is the fact that we ALL will be in for some very boring matches for a bit. I play to have fun and fighting slightly outnumbered and/or against all odds is so much more enjoyable than having to look for a fight. I live for, and occasionally die in, target rich environments.

As far as tier 1 is concerned I only aspired to get there for the battles – for the challenge of it and the fun to be had. This is a game after all and we all play to have fun, right?

I wish both TC and SBI the very best and I hope that your future experiences in the game, in whatever tier, grant you all of the enjoyable experiences that you crave. Truly.

When it is all said and done we are all gamers. This is the one thing we all have in common. We all play to have fun. And I will continue enjoying my time playing no matter where I end up. I pray that you all do the same.

I can certainly understand some of the vitriol being spewed by certain posters from TC. If SBI had not imploded, and this was a true 3-way fight, then I would like to think that perhaps the tone of this thread would be different. Nothing against SBI of course as those who have remained are still out there fighting the good fight despite the odds. And of course TC is still fighting gloriously as was evidenced at hills last night.

But to the posters from TC who bear us on SoR ill will due to this matchup and some apparent condescending and patronizing remarks in this thread I must ask you this – do you truly believe that you and your server are above such actions?

When TC was fighting CD posts were made here by some of your members about your purposefully spawn camping CD and focusing ONLY CD because you wanted to push them out of tier 3. Why? TC was killed in the jumping puzzle.

So do not come here acting holier than thou with verbal reprimands as to SoR’s behavior in this matchup. TC taunted, gloated, chest-thumped, spawn camped, zerged, and basically did everything that you are accusing SoR of doing now. As to getting an influx of transfers TC has had a 4 month (or is it 5 now?) recruitment thread to shore up your coverage. Is it SoR’s fault that not as many have taken you up on the offer?

Just a little reminder and a dose of perspective – you are no better so stop throwing stones.

Some good fights in TCBL this evening. Keep at it TC….for the first hour after reset we thought there would be no one to fight. And then there you were for the rest of the evening fighting tooth and nail to reclaim what was formerly yours.

I do wish that PiNK would have shown up but it was nice seeing KH running amok as red names for once. I certainly do hope that you guys are enjoying your new home.

Jayne, I must say I have always been intrigued with TC mainly due to the rp aspect. I would think that this alone would add a certain flavor to wvw. I personally do not, nor would not rp, but I can sense and have experienced a certain amount of hilarity due to rp alone.

While on CD I was in a group of 5 and we were flipping camps and doing quite well that evening. And then all of a sudden we see a mass of Quaggans bull-rushing us. Must have been at least 30 TC 20 of which were in Quaggan form. Yeah our 5 was zerged but dang….the Quaggans….it made me smile as I ported back to respawn. And then I cursed the fact that we were zerged by friggen Quaggans!

Should TC be able to sustain this sort of gameplay then regardless of the score TC is in a very good place. At one time I truly resented TC due to things that were said by your members on the forums while you were winning. What is being said by TC members now simply saddens me.

You guys are better than this. You should be proud of what you have accomplished. The current situation in WvW is not of your making.

In parting I will say that your defense at hills in SoR BL was completely stellar. Mistakes were made on our part but your tenacity is something to cherish. Great job TC.

Keep that spirit and TC will do just fine.

Blame Anet for not addressing the situation sooner.

Once the “paid” transfers happen there will certainly be a shakeup within all tiers. This will settle down soon enough. I’m actually looking forward to static server populations in the very near future.

iCoa did stack a lot, and the tactic didn’t work at all against us SoR. I don’t know why they are still doing that after the healing nerf though.

Especially that last week, the stack (combined with portaling around the enemy zerg) worked wonders on any SOR guild that wasn’t TW.

FEAR seems to be the SOR guild with the best coordination after TW, and we spent the good portion of a day just wiping FEAR.

Just a suggestion for SBI and TC, unless the many SOR guilds aside from TW have their portal stacking counter tactics down pat.

You wiping SoR with stacking? Ahahaha you MUST BE JOKING. I can’t even tell you how many kills [Choo] stacked up against BG when we stacked up. Most of the BG guilds didn’t even know how to use the stack correctly nor counter it!

By “good portion of the day” I believe he means a “good portion of the day between 6 am – 6:07 am”. I would even consider that claim to be quite dubious.

CD is a great server but sometimes we are so disorganized that nothing can be accomplished due to lack of initiative. Our main issue is being reactive instead of proactive….well that and severe tunnel vision….and a sudden outbreak of blue doritos.

All that being said – I’m having a great time and I hope our fellows in arms as well as our current foes are having as much fun as I am.

From an IOJ perspective, both servers seem to be a lot squishier than what we’re used to. There have been times when I(as a GS warrior) would get into your backline and you’d have people just standing there taking it in the face without moving or dodging and they drop in 2seconds. It’s also pretty appearent that most of your server is not used to open world battles because they fold so easily on force multipliers( I.E. dps focus onto a certain position). This problem is exacerbated especially to my guild since we run fairly skirmisher heavy(warriors/thieves/guardians/bomb engineers) because we can just cut a swath through your front line and as soon as 4 or 5 guys go down everyone just turns and runs.

I’ve been saying that for awhile but I’ve got no idea what to do about it. Within a guild you can break tendencies like that but are there any options for teaching the less WvW focused players or even having a zerg commander somehow adjusting that behavior?

TC has been crashing into problems like this from SoR and BG, and what’s happened is our commanders (mostly with PiNK) have taken a few moments to explain why we’re breaking. Slowly but surely more people are getting the hang of it, and we’re starting to hold more firmly.

Just calmly and politely explain why things went wrong and how they can improve, taking care not to single anyone out. Instant change won’t happen but if your server is willing to remain calm and light-hearted about things then it’s a lot easier to adapt.

Actually the reason why TC is breaking is because you have grown used to your numbers advantage doing the work. Now that you are on a level playing field….you are breaking. Methinks you will be relegated to being the tier 3 gateway server soon enough.

In the meantime TC doesn’t need to keep near as many in their home lands, because neither server is willing to push there. This of course, leaves them free to push wherever they want.

Well many of us who are regulars on TCBL, just feel comfortable there, even if it means just to defend, flip quaggan nodes, flip sentries, tick siege, and what not. This is the feeling I get from many familiar faces I find myself with – they all like to be on TCBL or occasionally EB. EB is sort of a maze to me. I hardly go there, except when there’s a zerg train running around, to level my alts :p. Otherwise, I’d rather defend my home territory.

Also, the moment I step into another BL’s on my alts (if at all I do), my eyes are on TCBL map always to assess if its a right decision to move to a different turf while my home is in danger. If its occasional sentry/camp flip and I see they are getting flipped back by our guys, I’m at rest and do whatever I am doing on other BL. If I notice that it’s not happening, I know its time to pack up and drive back home. Many of us upgrade keeps/towers at personal expense incl siege blueprints and run dolyaks to stack up supplies, and it’d be sad to see all that lost to enemies. That’s a general feeling I see among many of us.

A name I have not seen since Rift. You were a trolling jerk on the Rift forums as well, correct? Yeah that was you. You were good….I ran with you a few times…..but you were nothing special.

Now back to the important stuff…..

In my opinion this has been a great match. All 3 servers have given their all to the very end. No server has quit and there has been near constant fighting. I have had more fun in this matchup than I have had to date. That one 3 way SM battle was a complete fuster cluck but hella fun!!!! (Even though 1/2 my skills would not fire most of the time.)

There have been no truly oppressive zergs that I have seen. At least nothing that could not be countered if proper tactics were employed and people would simply listen Being a CD player who sometimes commands but more often than not runs in a 4 man 1 lady group……I am having a blast!

So I must thank both Mags and Ebay for fighting it out and making my evenings interesting. I say this not because CD is winning but because we here on CD are fighting 2 servers that are true competitors.

And for that I thank you. Best of luck to everyone next week.

CD is currently tier 4 and we won last week and will win again this week which should move us into tier 3. Quite frankly our NA coverage is not ready but our Oceanic presence keeps us in most matches if not tipping the scales in our favor. If you truly wanted to make a difference then give Crystal Desert a look.

Also this server, for whatever reason, seems to be generally despised. Therefore we get tag teamed often. So if playing the part of the “bad guy” (we are truly a well meaning group of kind hearted souls who just enjoy killing people) is your thing then this might be the server for your guild.

Lastly, as per the queue times – as was already mentioned EB and CD BL will sometimes have queues, especially during reset, but on average they do not last more than 15 mins. Where ever you end up I wish you the best of luck.

Had much fun in Ebay’s BL this evening.

We had so few CD but with proper intel we were able to keep the Bay much longer than we ever should have. Once we found the golem encampment within the walls on the plateau we decided it would be best to let ya have the map for the time being.

Was a true rush hearing over TS “outer wall at 20%” and then immediately after “inner wall at 50%”. Luckily we were able to get to our lord within seconds of it being attacked…..twice.

To the Ebay thief Commander – kudos to you and yours. That golem push effectively put things into perspective (I died right at your siege encampment to assess the coming assault). I did not have the forces to rout you and I knew the map was by and large lost. At that time we had a rag-tag group and our force, meager as it was, was needed elsewhere.

We decided to hit Ebay’s map, this evening, because it appeared to be locked down ( by you). Fortunately for us you apparently felt the same way. Thus we were able to take real estate that normally should not have been captured. I suppose the tortoise shell had been broken internally and your masses were scattered.

Once you guys got the ball rolling and committed to your map we left and pressed elsewhere. Great fights and much respect to you Ebay’ers.

I was one of those CD players. There is a screen shot of the little Asuran in last weeks matchup thread. That was me…..from [LW]. I regret what happened at the “fight club” but it is what it is. I certainly do appreciate the hospitality while I was there. It is one thing to organize such an event. Keeping it civil is a total different beast.

Tonight, after getting beat down a few times by oppressive numbers, I learned a few new devious tricks from our “enemies”. If what I saw, and was once victim to, was intentional, then kudos to whoever thought that up. In my eyes it was brilliant. People in TS was all borderline /ragequit but I had to laugh.

It involves leaving a seemingly undefended and weakened structure available to attack. All the while you have your own trebs hitting that site. Truly brilliant.

I quite enjoyed the 3 vs 1 trebbing foray his evening. Ebay you had a nice spot to siege us via trebs but we got our one treb built and….yeah….you really need better aim. I am not even that great at trebbing and took out your siege on the cliff at Star.

We even had a late response as our wall was at ~40%. Not sure how we were able to manage; I guess we got lucky. My poor treb was left with 10% health. I even got the pleasure of tossing cows as you tried to assault Hills head on. I hear your siege tactic worked later in the evening so good job. (We had all but given up the map at that point.)

I must say though. I have never seen so much siege placed…..all over the map. We were joking in TS about it. It is like you guys do not like grass and feel the need to trample it down with a cata or ballista. You guys actually place siege on the roads. Funny stuff.

Should be an interesting match for sure. Ebay you certainly have the numbers in US prime time so it is another week of the same old B.S. for us here on CD. I trust our Oceanic crew will keep things close.
