See….this is why CD can’t have nice things.

Until it was attacked by CD the CD server had 4-5 people there (I was one). Once there I wasn’t attacked once, unless I was called out, and I was surrounded by red names. We danced, we laughed, we bowed, and we dueled. Thanx for the event Littlefeather.

Now for those CD attackers….here is the thing. You could have wiped the whole map as many of the “opposing” forces were at one location. Yet you didn’t cap a dang thing and got wiped at least three times. Once you finally pushed through most had left anyway.

I’m not one to judge either way but you should have at least controlled the map and then played the part of party pooper. Ah well….this is why CD can’t have nice things.

About the “fight club” :

First – I am having a blast. 7-1 thus far….tip to you thieves….don’t use the elite pets. Haha! They attack everything other than your opponent.

Second – Hate to break the news to ya but the match is already decided. Would you rather us all be in the jumping puzzle? C’mon man. This is an honest good time and a way to show some friendly respect to the other servers.

As a CD player I should point out that what DH and Mag are currently experiencing we here have seen in 2 week cycles. We lose 2 and win one. The most important thing is that we do not quit….for the most part. From what I’ve seen from both of our opponents this week – you guys share the same heart that we do. The true difference is twofold.

1. We have a superb Oceanic presence. Without them this match would be quite different.

2. The majority of the servers above us have gotten there by beating us down at one point. We endeavor to persevere and try to learn and improve as we go. It can be a painful experience to be sure.

I must say that both DH and Mag have seemingly respectful players as I have not noticed the normal /emote nonsense. That and you have a few extremely effective roaming squads. A mesmer duo comes to mind.

Should you guys get bored I’ll share a little game that I was introduced to this evening. Take 3-4 people and take supply points. Once you get to any opposing borderlands northern supply camp, take it and set up siege equipment. Ballistae works perfectly as do a couple of arrow carts. Be sure to upgrade that supply camp should you have the time. The camp boss is……well……a BOSS!

And let the hilarity commence! (Extra points if you wipe a zerg or can hold that point for over 15 mins while constantly being attacked.)

3-4 (our 4th once was a random that we picked up at a prior camp) of us did this in both DH’s and Mag’s borderlands this evening and had one helluva time. Quite amazing the response, and subsequent badges, that you will receive. We effectively neutralized ~ 20-30 of the enemy at different times for about two hours. Redirecting the enemies focus at it’s finest.

But what we really wanted to do was have some fun and that little episode was a blast!

Oh, but do not call out the TC zerg army…..apparently TC players are completely oblivious to the masses running around along side them. Best of luck FA. Btw both TC and YB has poor Oceanic/Euro coverage from my experience fighting them last week.

Be sure to camp the jumping puzzle though. TC just hates that sorta thing.

Interesting read. So CD is now the JP boogey man. Hilarious indeed.

Trust me, I dislike the fact that we seem to have such a presence there at all….them attacking or not. But it is their playtime, not mine, so they can do as they wish. But to paint a whole server with such a broad stroke is quite disingenuous. The vast majority of us only wish to compete and have a good time.

edit – must have missed the part about the “mocking and harassing via tells” bit. That is quite a shame and it saddens me. That nonsense alone almost makes we want to transfer so I can kill them myself.

As a thief I’ll just say this…….tab target…….problem solved.

The thief may not appear on your screen but you can still target him.

So yeah…..there ya go.

Personally I do not care about being outnumbered, getting zerged, or some of our people camping the jumping puzzle. All I care about are the times when (such as last night) a five man team can roll up to ~20-25 attacking a tower and roll their back lines. Just as the wall was breached we follow them in and kill everything as they try to kill the lord. And then our little 5 man team proceeded to take the tower for ourselves. Of course we quickly got the heck out of there because retaining the tower or even being able to capture it wasn’t the true objective.

Having FUN was the objective. And we had a blast.

To TC and YB – I tip my hat to both of you. We from CD could/should learn a few things from this matchup. Oh….and thank you for the target rich environment.

Good fights all around. Regrettably CD has lost some numbers so we are unable to properly compete on all maps. I solo’d a supply camp and waited to see the eventual response. While doing so I was attacked by a fellow thief but they were able to escape. During the whole time I was killing the guards, 2 dolyaks, and the “boss” this person sat a safe distance away from me. I was too busy to run over and reintroduce myself at the time.

Not 5 mins later the zerg started trickling in……killed about 6-7 and then the masses plowed through. Stargrove wasn’t to be mine apparently.

But c’mon man! You had eyes on one thief (me) taking the camp and then you send a zerg of 30? TC at it’s finest I suppose.

I complain in jest as I was laughing the whole time I was running around dodging AoE’s and trying to C&D…….sad part is I missed once….

Good times. Quite a few badges. And only 5 from my side came to help.

As far I am concerned anything and everything is fair game. It is a virtual war, yes?

I’m having a great time and it seems that most everyone else is as well. We of CD are having a tough go of it at the moment but we will still keep fighting. Regrettably we do not have the numbers to sustain any momentum; especially during NA prime time, but we will keep pushing back.

Seems that many on our server did not get the memo about this being a “pvp centric” game. Hence the jumping puzzle business – which makes me chuckle. We have our moments but not the population. Any gains we make are quickly wrested from us. But we will fight to the end whatever the results may be. That alone makes me proud to be a part of this server. (Despite my commander title being turned off the vast majority of the time.)

Either way – great fights are being fought on all sides. This is a stellar match-up and I look forward mixing it up with my “enemies” on a daily basis.

I certainly appreciate the sentiment Honnor and to my knowledge this person has not contacted anyone from CD.

I’d imagine that he got killed in the jumping puzzle by one of us (CD) and is still a tad butt hurt about it.

Yeah I was sooo bored so I decided to see what kind of trouble I could get into. Seems I got into quite a bit. I did all I could to train you guys back to the supply camp that we held for a bit of npc reinforcement. It worked for a while until I started getting both sleepy and sloppy but I enjoyed every minute of it.

I was expecting maybe 5 or so of you to come and then all of a sudden there were 20+ so I just kept running, shooting, and stealthing. Luckily your side triggered the crossed swords on the map and I eventually got some help. I rinsed/repeated that tactic until I knew ya’ll had quite enough of my nonsense.

I couldn’t let you guys get bored diligently manning that point all night with no action

As a mainly solo thief I have the luxury of seeing both Yak and DH response times. I must say that I am astonished at your respective reaction times. I attack a small roaming group, kill a few, and then all of a sudden I have ~ 20 people on me within seconds. You guys are making my life a tad difficult. Kudos to you! Except for the few people who /dance over my dead body after I am zerged down. Btw I am the Asura that will usually /salute the coming onslaught as I am having a blast in this match.

I fear that my NA counterparts are relying far to heavily on our Oceanic presence because in my “prime time” we have been getting our teeth kicked in. If not for our friends that grant us “full” coverage we would not have the lead that we currently enjoy. Truly, I believe that Yak’s, and DH to a lesser degree (not much) are far more organized than we are during US prime time.

Great match and one hell of a fun week. This has been quite the refreshing week of Wv3 for sure. And for that I thank you guys.

I am a thief on CD and have been since the game launched. Took a brief hiatus to both HoD and JQ to see if I could possibly glean any new / interesting strategies. None to be had. Simply put – Gv3 revolves around either 24/7 presence (if you are lucky) or bandwagon transfers (if you are not).

Server populations will dictate rank for a while but eventually; although the sheep may flock to certain servers, the most organized servers will win out. Notice I did not say the most populated nor the most skilled – the most organized will win.

Sometimes proper organization will not overcome the onslaught of the masses (que 300) but you will be surprised at how much a proper makeup of 30 , blessed with clear communication and sound tactics, can bring pure devastation to hordes of mainly solo players.

I do not specifically refer to the current match-up but to the “meta-game” as a whole in regards to GW2.

It has been a very good fight thus far in my eyes as a CD combatant. Both of the other servers have exceptionally skilled players from the point of view from this solo thief but I shall remind you again of population/organization. In all honestly the vast majority of the CD populace is weak…..they are only participating in Wv3 now because we are currently winning….and I suppose they have had their fill with candy corn…..

One last thing – I’ve seen much talk about orb “hacking” across a multitude of servers. I would ask that you use the term “hacking” properly – as in a malicious attempt to subvert the CODING of the game. The orb “hackers” for the most part are nothing more than simpletons who have found an area within which certain abilities have granted their characters the ability to traverse certain parts of certain maps with impunity. Calling them “hackers” gives them credit which they do not deserve. I know very little of computer coding yet in my various searches for points of interest I have VIRTUALLY FLOWN across the map. I could never interact with the p.o.i that I was after yet I was still able to FLY all around it.

So yeah – stop the complaints with “hacking”…….because they are not “hacking” per se…..

What you are all witnessing is the fortunate folly of an individual who has learned how to make the game map essentially “warp” to his/her will. Ever play Skyrim and tried to run up a mountain that was essentially impossible to climb yet you found a crevice that allowed you to do it anyway? Same kitten thing.

All Anet has to do is slightly move the orbs from their starting locations and these simple “hacks” (in regards to “orb hacks”) will no longer exist.

Just wanted to throw that out there….

I certainly do not condone such actions but I felt the need to point this simple fact out.

TL/DR best of luck to all 3 sides and I sincerely wish that you all fight it out to the end.
