i personally would swap out the trait in SA to get the hard to catch trait. since getting knocked down would be a pain on a p/p build. but it looks good so far.
i’d definitely be interested in seeing someone use the p/p build with trapper runes. i want to see a good p/p power build
you actually don’t sacrifice a lot of damage at all if any. you still get confusion but through steal. and on top of that you get 3 utility skills that stealth AND cause blindness thanks to the trait. one knocks down and one is like shadowstep and blinding powder combined. and if you mark a target, they can get 10,000 range away and you can just catch up, which will also give you stealth and A LOT of might. its beautiful.
i use p/d :P p/p sounds fun though but i heard that too is not very useful
i’m used to being slow. i still don’t use signet of shadows and i do pretty darn well with my current build. i dont think its much of a gimmick but thats why i wanna try it so bad. the invisibility is perfect for stealth, blind, condi bursting with pistol
What: Scorpion Wire
Type: buff
Suggestion: make it unblockable
Why?: it’s utility is hindered by the fact that its easy to avoid because it’s slow, everything gets in the way, and on top of that it’s buggy… sometimes i feel like even allies can block it’s pathing. why? you can shoot through allies but scorpion wire can’t? Scorpion wire would be a little better if it were unblockable. or at least give it some bleed…. or poison OR TORMENT…. otherwise… why is it called SCORPION wire, other than the fact that it’s probably named after a certain yellow and black ninja -cough-

While crafting I stumbled upon this. Superspeed increases your movement speed by 100% for 3 seconds(does not stack). Traps give you 3 seconds of stealth and apparently stack.
theoretical build: I heard people talking about trapper builds but they weren’t all that useful. also i could never find a decent trapper build. this inspired by the classic condi build that revolved around perplexity cept using trapper instead and swapping out a couple skills, for the better imo.
Now, heres what interests me the most. since this rune stealth’s you upon trap use, it’s like having two different blinding powders and one shadow step but with a much shorter cooldowns. also, shadow pursuit…. 10,000 range… WOW…
Since this build doesn’t use perplexity, I decided to use the XIII in Trickery for confusion damage. a longer steal cooldown isn’t that bad.
I wish i could test it but im using perplexity and i don’t have another dire set to mess with at the moment but on paper it shows promise. Of course anyone is free to test it out and post results here too.
I’m not a very jaded thief. I’ve been using a p/d condi build and so far i’ve been doing so well. While fighting in a group at EB i caught another thief’s attention and walked aside them to an open space so we could duel 1v1. this thief was using a d/p backstab build and this person was a great duelist.
i’ve only managed to win against this person one time from what i can remember but it gave me hope to try out a backstab build again. either way, i still thought it was pretty awesome. i’m thinking of slapping on a full Valkyrie set and going for it again.
I don’t believe thieves in general are op at all honestly. i feel like it’s the type of class that takes a lot of time and practice to unlock it’s potential. some people always want instant gratification and that’s a sign of a bad player.
