That’s why I use my Red Moa. Just have it sit by my side and buff me and other people with 20% crit chance every 30 seconds or so.
Have the devs commented if they plan to do anything with crossfire?

They probably won’t do/say anything until the next patch update. Pretty disappointing actually
I’m afraid that’s how it is. Even on a “Full” world, this is what I see :
From the areas level 1-30 is where it has a good amount of people running around.
Then from 30-40 the population seems like it dwindles down.
The level 40-75 areas, is where it gets really lonely. Almost makes the game seem like a single player RPG.
75-80 is where it gets back up slowly.
Then on the level 80 map, Cursed Shore, is where you’ll see a bunch of people again.
It really is a pain leveling through the middle levels :/
I haven’t heard of anything, but I do hope they bring it.
I also rushed my character customization during the three day headstart so I can get on with the actual game, and now I’m not so fond of the look on my Warrior haha.
Seeing as no one replied back with what the glitch/bug was being caused due to Crossfire, I’m guessing there was none to begin with.
I guess ANet really did nerf the bow just to nerf it, for who knows what.
So like.. am I the only person that still has in mind that they did this change due to glitches being caused with it? I’m still wondering what the glitch is/was.
Or is it really true that ANet is using that as an excuse to nerf the bow?
Either way, I’m still not liking the change for SB :|
Why did the SB need a nerf? Because it was hitting too hard? LOL @ that. I think the SB was perfect.
Agreed. Instead of nerfing the shortbow, which has nothing wrong with it in the first place, they should fix our pets, and buff the longbow.
Yea, I would love to see a lot more tweaking for Rangers. Especially for our pets.
It’s true though, there was NOTHING wrong with the Shortbow.
Or, up the damage of the shortbow to compensate for the slower attack speed.
As for me. The machine gun-like speed of the SB is what got me hooked.
We can only hope they bring back the old cast time, and fix the ‘glitches’ a different way, or up the actual damage of Crossfire.
I wouldn’t call the Ranger underpowered, but it could have used a little more tweaking, not nerfing -_-
I’ve been reading on the other threads as well, and I see that people are testing it and are saying that the increase in casting time is a little more than the said 40 milliseconds.
I read on the patch notes that they increased the cast time by 40 milliseconds to avoid the glitches caused with using this skill. I’ve been playing my 80 Ranger for a while now, and I don’t know if it’s just me, but I haven’t seen any glitches with it o.O
What I do see though, is that the nerf now makes my shortbow go from being a machine gun to just a regular old bow.
So what were the glitches caused by the old cast time of Crossfire?
I’m in the same boat as you OP. It was actually just about an hour ago, when I realized that this game just isn’t giving me any more satisfaction. I never played WoW, so I can’t compare it to that.
I’ve got a 80 Thief, which I stopped because endgame was boring. Then I made a Ranger, it was fun while it lasted. I got up to level 76 on it before the game just got so bland. I’m at the 70-75 area, and it feels like I’m the only one there. Honestly, only like 2 people talk on the map chat, and I play on Darkhaven which is a full server.
DE’s are so boring, just a big zergfest. The storyline feels like a chore. And dungeons are just so unrewarding imho. I miss that leveling takes a while, it was something to look forward to. I used to play Korean grinder MMOs, so I kind of miss killing things over and over to level up.
The game is supposed to encourage grouping, but for what? As OP said, the game feels like a solo game with a co-op option. The only time I’ve actually had fun with a group is when I’m with my friends in Divinity’s Reach screwing around.
GW2 though, did provide me with a good amount of entertainment. I can only hope that ANet will bring new things to game, as in open world PvP(No, not like W3). As it is right now, the game feels too easy and bland.
My first toon was a Human Warrior, but that got boring around level 50.
So I switched to an Asura Thief, and wow.. It’s just plain fun. The Asura animations along with the Thief animations just match up so well.
I’m an Asura Thief at level 31 right now and so far I haven’t died yet in any of my story quests. I went 10 into Trickery, 10 into Critical Strikes, then starting on Shadow Arts. I’m stacking Power/Precision/Condition Damage on my gear. So far its been working. Get in, DB, DB, run around and kite, get in, DB, steal, kite. Rinse and repeat. If its a group of 4+ then I drop caltrops and kite with my ShortBow.
If you find yourself dying a lot, you should switch up your gear, maybe approach a new play style that works for you, maybe even just changing your trait line will help you. Or maybe its what you said, learn to dodge and move.
