On the flip side… some fight guilds went out to raid as usual and decided if the only enemy players on the map were in a karma train, at least it was something to fight. After two hours of easy wipes because everyone in the train was an uplevel, it got a little boring. When 25 people can hold off a map queue at spawn, it’s a little ridiculous.

The whispers of teary-eyed commanders wondering how we could be so mean to poor little uplevels just trying to gain karma was hilarious the first few times, but it just kept going and going until they all got tired of being farmed and left for the night.

After that night, both of my raid guilds called off raiding for the rest of the week. That was Saturday. I miss my WvW.

No one wants to get whispers all night from people crying that you’re ruining a karma train when all you want to do is fight more than doors.

You can only get rekt by 16k golem-buff-exploit meteors so many times before you start getting irritated at the commanders searching for fights amidst all this inanity; if you find yourself anywhere near a red circle you’re likely to go down instantly. It’s time to log on an uplevel, suit up in a golem, 11111 gates, and stand in green circles (and put on Netflix because holy kitten you’re going to be bored). I’m sooo over the commanders that want to pretend that WvW wasn’t turned upside down for the week. The pirate meta is even worse now, and it’s not fun to stare at people for 20 minutes only to see which side is stupid enough to step into a red circle first.

If you don’t want fights in a PvP instance, you can always exit the map and go to this magical place called PvE and fight NPCs. People were and are wrecking golem trains without the exploit (it’s just too easy because it’s a bunch of uplevel pugs) so to act like people who want to play WvW as intended as somehow in the wrong because it’s EOTM now is silly. If you hate fighting and want to karma train, go to EOTM, silverwastes, world boss runs… anywhere but a PvP instance. Please.

The karma trains are full of people with the exploit whether intentional or not as well, so you really can’t blame it on “oh you are killing us and that makes us sad since you won’t ktrain also!” I’m looking at you, thief who walked around one shotting people at full health from light to heavy classes.

After three days, it’s just reached the point of being dull and boring. The only way to get fights is to camp out in a keep on EBG and then you get messages from leaders on opposing servers about how you’re messing up their karma train and they just want to level some new characters.

Here’s the kicker: When I asked if a map I got on was a karma train map, I was told “Yes, we are ktraining. If you want fights, go to EOTM.” Trust me, I laughed.

Even without the bugs with golems, it’s just not interesting gameplay. No one wants to get whispers all night from people crying that you’re ruining a karma train when all you want to do is fight more than doors. Fight guilds don’t really want to raid because everyone still runs away from you and even ppt guilds are complaining because there’s no point to upgrading/defending. It’s just bad.

If nothing else… will the issue with people duplicating mass amounts of golems be addressed? There’s plenty of people talking about how they’ve been doing it so I wouldn’t doubt it being true.

Funny… couldn’t find your server on my map last night and that never happens on a reset. Could only find one of the two skipping every fight to back cap towers for karma. Event is bad for fights. If you’re one of those siege-hugging ppt guilds/pugs you probably wouldn’t notice a difference, but those who want fights? Yeah, there were none.

The irony being they are also testing points per kill (which I think would be nice to implement) but you can’t find anything to kill because everyone ports out their golems still. Ugh.

It was cute for five minutes, but no one wants to fight now. Just cap, port, repeat. If you see orange swords and they aren’t 10 feet away from your position, forget it.

Can this please be shut off? I like the testing of the points per kill. I appreciate the boost to wvw xp. But this golem thing isn’t fun, it’s bugged (people getting 50+ siege after “building” a golem), and it’s stripping wvw down to EOTM-levels of karma training. Actually, there’s more fights in EOTM right now than WvW. :\

Cute event… for maybe an hour. Not even that. No one wants to fight; everyone just backcaps then ports back to protect their golems (they cost 4g a piece so why wouldn’t they?). This event should only be a weekend event.

PLEASE turn this off earlier than intended. It should be gone by Monday morning PST. It’s just not fun when everyone is avoiding fights. I come to WvW for bags and tags… but if there’s no one on the map to hit then why bother playing it at all?

Anet should have gone the route of letting WvW guilds (or players if this test base is smaller) apply. They still could’ve chosen the Docs and Chemsorlys of the twitch world, but filled in their zerg with other players who play daily and would like to make sure that the borderland replacing our old one is going to reinvigorate a dying community. They messed up this time, but maybe next time they’ll go about it the way they did EOTM betas which I think was a really nice way to test WvW maps (it doesn’t really work in PvE but it was great for EOTM purposes).

As for him getting invites… if he’s lying on his own website and advertising it on Reddit as well, then shame on him. I’d personally like to think he isn’t lying and neither are the other people who have gotten in and mentioned that he did, in fact, get invite power while no one else did. I don’t need Anet to confirm it; I can simply assume he’s telling the truth and if it turns out he isn’t, then that’s on him. :P

A lady knows better than tell on a source, but Doc was given spots. Again, he’d be a complete jerk of a person if he was advertising it to everyone then at the end saying belated April Fool’s. I’d hope he’s better than that. If he’s not… well, then he rightfully deserves the ire that would come his way, lol.

He is confirmed to have spots to hand out, yes. Besides, that would be a pretty cruel joke on more active, long time players if he claimed to have that much pull but didn’t. :P

I’ll personally be supporting the stream of the more avid WvW players who truly enjoy the game and don’t consider it to be their cash cow. That’s great if it works for him, but to me, someone streaming daily because they love to play and share it with their viewers is a better watch than someone who hops from game to game depending on who is willing to give the better payout. I suppose he could like it, but he talks about LoL and other games on his stream often while commanding in a dead timezone, so…

I have done the wurm four times in a row for the achievements and the fourth time finally advanced my achievement panel but I guess I traded that for the chest which I didn’t get this time (I did get it the other three times). Oh well. :P

Dropping all the graphics down to the bare bones seems to have resolved the issue… thanks again for that tip even if the game looks ugly once more. I’ll miss the effort put into making it look pretty since it is unplayable in that state.

Thanks for the tips. It’s no longer just cutting the sound and letting me play until it finally full on crashes… now it just up and instantly crashes even if it’s just a few people standing around. I’ve tried rebooting and adjusting my game settings. If I really have to I’ll reinstall the game but I’m hoping it doesn’t come to something time consuming like that. Since it’s still happening – though at different hours now – I will see if lowering my settings even more helps… sucks to have a machine that can play the game at great quality but you have to play like your computer is from 1999 to prevent a crash.

I did submit a ticket (it’s crashed 5 more times since posting this…) so hopefully they get the message. I know it happens to a lot of people in WvW, but I’ve never had any issues like this in PvE until the most recent big patch. :\

Now to figure out why I’m getting chests from the Great Jungle Wurm but no credit on the achievements… on top of multiple crashes, ha.

Mine will always close, it’s always in a world boss, and 90% of the time I get zero credit when I come back in. If you can go back into a PvP match and it will let you back into certain instances you got kicked out of… they clearly have the means to band-aid the problem but I’m guessing don’t care to or want to. I’d personally prefer an overall fix but heck, I’d take the band-aid instead of wasting my time for nothing.

Every day at 12:15pm EST, the game crashes. It’s always during Teq for me so after trying to complete it, guess what happens? I get no credit and no chests OR it will sometimes give me one or two of the chests for tagging Teq but not allow me to collect the big chest at the end. This is problematic and has happened daily since the most recent patch went through a week ago.

The particular bug is always the sound bug. The sound freezes or cuts out completely.

As a squishy ele you won’t be able to cap the hero. I don’t understand how sitting in water would help.

It’s easy (and I capped it a bit); passive heal to ensure health stays above the threshold long enough to cap. Even with two people cleaving away it was pretty simple to do. As more skilled players try the map it could change but the point still remains that capping is far too simple to do because there are too few ways to stop the channel. If you’re hit, channel should end. Period.

ETA: I see you mentioned the same later in the thread – my bad!

The heroes should NOT be able to be capped so easily. If you’re on a class with zero knockbacks, you’re screwed. Sure, the channel is long, but even as a squishy ele I can just sit in water and if the other player can’t knock me back, I can cap long before they can get me close to down.

If you get HIT, the channel should end. Just like it does everywhere else in the game. Supply is whatever, but for something as strong as the hero why is it mad easy to get?

I was gone for a month to check out another tier and when I came back, FEAR was gone. Has been nice running into you guys in EOTM.

It’s unfortunate that SOR is tanking (be it on purpose or not), but that’s how it goes. It makes good fights a bit harder to find because every map is now a karma train and EOTM is a crapshoot, yet I understand. Whether you guys stay or go, we’ll keep on scrimming with you in one map or the other!

Same, only happens when I swap maps in WvW. Game locks up, crashes, relog, crashes, relog, settings are messed up, relog, fixed. Really annoying.

I can’t queue if in WvW… have to bail to LA to do it. :\

I know you said no higher tier servers, but post-leagues the queues are back to being non-existent as the crowds thinned back out to only those dedicated to WvW. That said, I’m located on JQ in Decisive Actions and we’re a small man team of 5-15 in WvW that prefers running with less people while still taking objectives and making sure we stomp the enemy. We very rarely go into EB; on rare occasion we’ll go to run some small man stuff but generally we’re on a BL every night of the week. We’re willing to help with builds and such but don’t really have any strict requirements on what you run (skill before build? lol).

It definitely depends on the player and the matchup. Jumping puzzles are a bore for me, but a group of Mag managed to run the borderlands puzzles with me to get the achievement out of the way last night. I’ve also tried to get a fellow server mate to leave a BG player alone in EB JP, but that guy refused to listen (and later got killed by a BG thief who left me alone – I admit I laughed). Sometimes it’s fun to camp out in there, but if it’s obvious a player isn’t wanting to fight, it’s such a bore to beat them down to me personally. All that said, it IS in WvW, so you have to expect the worst. :p

Your best bet if it’s the EB JP is to find a small man group (3-5 players max) to go with. Assuming there isn’t a large group camping out in there, you’ll get through the puzzle and have some nice small skirmishes along the way. The BL JPs are super easy so if getting camped is a problem, just come back later. Those tend to be empty anyway.

TC is gold league, not silver, and has at least 3 guilds in the beta. (3 that I know for sure, possibly others)

TC definitely had one if I recall another thread about this topic correctly… I would assume Anet has done it’s homework and has tried to pick guilds that have a wide range of function on the field, whether it’s a large T1 guild to a small T6 roaming group. You should also remember that just because a T1 guild fields 40+ players on a map, it doesn’t mean all 40 stack up. Some do, some split up and try to achieve objectives separate from one another.

Interested to see what other T1 guilds got in, though… because I want to know who is getting knocked off those islands first.

As I sit in queue, I’m going to watch the matchup that is this thread. <3 #magswag!

They’ve said for now it’s only against the servers you fight that week but it could become a more generic overflow based on feedback. I assume that affects beta as well, though if it’s a variety of large and small guilds maybe it will be a mix while we test.

To be honest, everyone here isn’t giving T2 enough credit when it comes to real fights. Regardless of PPT, some of the best fights I can think of recently were against the likes of TC and MagSwag. After the snoozefest this week (AC vs AC – missed the memo), I’m looking forward to getting back into the open field and fighting! Let’s get ready to rumble, T2!

It isn’t the fights that we are complaining about. We know that you can field people during your prime. Your off hours can’t complete though which is why you are easy. We don’t have to stay up to cover our gaps like we do in T1 if we want to win the league, when we fight you guys.

Sure, when it comes to the off hours, it’s a bit depressing for everyone involved and it affects the peak hours, unfortunately. I’m just glad that despite that, you guys don’t hide out in towers and will actually come into open field. Do people want to win? Sure. How do you win? PPT. However, many of us find WvW fun in the fighting, and you guys are certain to bring it. <3

I didn’t mean to imply anyone in T2 was complaining, by the way! The complaints are coming out of T1 servers who say you guys are pushovers. Sorry if I implied otherwise!

I don’t know how since there was so little red to fight open field, but it was a glorious night of gold and bags. Had fun wiping all that red to the floor a few times in the towers as well. So squish! <3

I miss open field fighting, though… you know, without arrow carts.

The best part about the crying over the league match ups? All these bags coming out of those 160* man blobs. Keep ‘em coming, ladies and gents… I’d appreciate having a legendary funded entirely off your bodies (someone drop that precursor for me and not my guildmate next time!).

I’m gonna pop that queue, get 20 bags in my pocket…!
