The message Kyllaa is referring to is one I wrote in february. As such I will not be linking it here since Mods usually issue infractions for reviving old threads. (speaking from experience) I will post some of the content below though. This was a response I received from sending in a support ticket about the various Mac beta client issues I had found at the time. I put the comment we would like to get stickied in bold.

Thank you for contacting NCsoft Technical Support.

I read through all of your questions/concerns and at this time they are all known issues. ArenaNet has been collecting data from the crash reports players send in as well as the info we receive from tickets customers submit and is currently using that data to work on resolutions for the issues.

As the Mac client is still in the beta phase of testing, it is normal to have some issues with the client. Please understand that as the client is in beta all Mac users are simply testers and without getting the required information on bugs/issues it will take longer for the issue to be resolved. As the issues are resolved, fixes will be pushed to the client with future updates. Please understand that ArenaNet is working hard to get these issues resolved and is not going to push a fix that may not work.

With that said, we do urge all players that are having issues to submit a ticket as it will allow us to collect data on the issue and forward it to ArenaNet. At this time NCsoft is not troubleshooting Mac issues via the forums and from my understanding the developers are only posting updates and directing customers to submit tickets so we can get the correct info from customers.

+1. Only happens when you kick the person that started the dungeon but it should still be addressed.

Hey invisiblematt, tech support has said that ANet does not respond to threads on this forum. If you haven’t already, you’ll need to open a support ticket in order to get someone to help you out. Best of luck.

Yeah, I found that a little disappointing. At least we know that support tickets make it through though. I got a response in less than a day.

Hey guys, so I submitted a ticket yesterday with a laundry list of all of the current bugs, most notably that frequent fatal error message crashes, the occassional frozen login screen, map issues, and audio issues. This is their response. Some really good important details about how the beta system works.

So there you have it. Keep sending in those support tickets but do not expect any responses from ANet mods or devs on these forums. Not that we aren’t used to that already. lol

My biggest problem is that they don’t communicate with us. We are paying customers and we deserve the same support and communication as everyone else.

It’s really frustrating that we’ve had to explain how to fix errors like this to the community. Isn’t ANet supposed to have a Mac Client support team? You would think so since that’s what the thread claims and yet I haven’t seen a single mod post in here for months.

It’s really frustrating to see that ANet has not posted anything on supporting the Mac client since October. We’re still here you know! I’ve tried sending PM’s to mods, I’ve posted in this thread, I’ve posted in other threads but no even once has someone from ANet taken the time to respond to a single thing for us. If you are not going to be supporting this client then come out and say it but I’m tired of dealing with all of these Mac client specific glitches and errors that have been reported for 4 months now without a single response from you guys.

Something that never gets addressed in these discussions with the Devs (mainly because not enough people ask I guess) is what is up with the Mac client? You guys announce it and release it but then stop giving any updates/info about it. Are you guys still working on it? Will you guys ever fix the bugs that you’ve had on the “Know Issues” list since day one? I have an immense amount of respect for this company and for all that you do but still, it’s getting kind of frustrating. Any response would be appreciated.

Still having poor audio quality problems in game. I’ve done several support tickets over the last few months but all I ever get is “post on the forums” so here I am…..again. Are you guys still working on addressing these problems or should we just stop using the Mac client?

Hey Robert, I’ve seen this problem occur again after dying in game, even shortly restarting the client. This makes the whole logging out thing a very poor solution to the problem when you’re in a dungeon. It’s kind of hard to explain to your guild mates of why you have to frequently log in and out. lol. Is this problem being worked on?

If they can’t get us a native client, then they need to at least finish this ridiculous beta and get us a fully working copy of the game. It’s disappointing to see the last post from ANet going back 4 months ago. We’re still here! I love this game but it’s really starting to get frustrating with them delaying this so long.

So I have sound but I would like to reiterate what Zippelin.6732 is saying in that the audio files are more compressed on the Mac beta client than they are on the windows client for some odd reason. I am using Yamaha HS50M studio monitors through an Apogee audio interface so I know it’s not my speakers. I am also a freelance film composer in the greater Los Angeles area so I promise you, I know sound. I have the audio set to the highest quality on my mac client and yet it still sounds better at around medium settings on my windows client. Fairly noticeable in the music and foley quality but extremely noticeable in the drop in quality for the ADR. Is there anyway that you guys could look into this?

Same here. Didn’t start happening until after the most recent patch. It doesn’t happen that often but it is annoying when it does. The main thing that happens to me is that you’ll try to zoom out and nothing will happen. I keep trying to zoom out more and nothing happens. Then I’ll try to to close the world map and nothing happens. If I wait a few seconds longer everything I tried to do will magically happen resulting in this entertaining zoom out as fast as you can and then close affect. Kind of funny, but would rather it not happen. I am using a 2011 Macbook Pro 2 Ghz Intel Core i7 on version 10.8.2. Thanks!
