Yeah sure its cool to say “freelos shouldn’t be equal to B2P”, but what about the old B2P people that got shafted? The expansion definetly wasn’t enough bang for our buck, and some people didn’t appreciate that others get the same content for half the price simply because they started late. Adding insult to insult isn’t really the best way to ensure people continue playing. (FYI i own 2 accounts, one Deluxe Core+ Ultimate HoT other Regular Core, plus i paid for my brother’s accounts also Deluxe+Ultimate, so yeah, i paid for this game, and some gems too, but i still think that HoT pricing and the marketing was unreasonable and unfair to older costumers, and hope the next one either has like 3-4 times the content or half the price, or its the last i’ll pay for GW2).

Also what about people, like me, that loved to play Ranger pre-HoT but dislike playing Druid? We still get a sub-par build compared to other elite specced players.

The expansions costs on average £3 a month. If you cant afford that with a game that charges no sub then you have bigger priorities and worries than a spec in a game i suspect.

Wrong and selfish answer! I paid for the game so i demand! is like a company make new car model and stop support older models! This is not right!

I have 4 paid GW2 accounts (1 collectors) . 2 of them are core accounts and 2 with hot.
Anet made the game free . But i paid for it and i want my core accounts can survive in pvp. Find a way to limit the free ones i don’t care how but find it. U can’t equal us with them.
The only classes i can play on core and be decent cause of my experience are Trapper Ranger, Support-Bunker Guard and mm necro.

This season in Spvp i manage be legendary only with my old style support Guard. Didn’t use any skill-Trait from HoT. When my mates were normal players i was king of point but when weren’t i was suffer. Cause all focus on me and condis where endless . I am not sure if they need to get nerfed or we need to buff up.
I tried also DH Bunker from meta. That build was selfish and troll build . Means u are alive till all die then u die and die fast as the other build. Players from ur team not healed enough from u or get buffed .If u not play dps Guard DH is pointless class.
Now if Anet still want to promote this fail called HoT need to marry DH and core game so we can have a decent Support-heal or Bunker class.

I read this post and the words he used was familiar to me. Yesterday i had a game on Kylo . I used trapper ranger (1602 condi dam.) and i was trebbing all points. i am real good on treb. Also a very good mobile thief was supporting me when 1 or 2 came to break treb.
i had about 300 points in the end of the game and they lost of course. one guy after the defeat used the same words. The game was solo q. So i guess he was unlucky.
The only bad i see in kylo is that some times when u shoot u don’t have feedback what happen with ur shoot ( no damage numbers no evade etc. ) I like u shoot on the space.
kylo as other map needs special builds . General builds not working 100%.

Mistake! usually low quality players are on your Team ! That is why usually when accidentally Good solo’s be on the same team they team up after win . Cause will be very difficult to meet decent players again.

How is taking a bunch of conditions to the face and dying any different from taking a bunch of direct hits to the face and dying? Before HoT I played a MM necro with a different playstyle from the main used in that time and that was way better than the meta, but that was a lucky situation. And how to talk about years of sPvP where if you don’t played that “meta” build you was not able to kill the always “meta” calsses, just like now?

The only time I saw a lot of build diversity in sPvP is more than 2 years ago, when everyone played anything and the “balance” was a mere hope.
But also then there was classes and builds way better than others and players that complained about that.

I play from the pre-release and no, I don’t noticed any kind of change in the amount of really strong “meta” builds you can do.

if you find the stronger build for your class, everyone will play it, just why no one want to be easy killed by others or don’t like to be killed as a noob for more than a week only why don’t play the “meta”.

They will never do that for different reasons:
1) that thing will break the community and make mmr even longer than now, making the game really boring
2) the core clesses have not a balance, they changed to fit better the new specializzation, making them unable to be used as a second chance for the pvp area
3) ANet plan was to make More Specializzations, to make More build diversity (but they failed to make the first and I’m shure that we’ll ardly see another elite specializzation too soon) and a turn back to the core class isn’t in they’re plans
4) the game IS HoT, you don’t even need to talk about HoT as an optional expansion, why it’s not. HoT IS the Main Game Now.
5) Why play an old totally unbalanced build if you can play an actual and umbalanced build?

At last, if you really want to play only with Core classes, you can go in Hot Join, make a new Room and name it “Core Only” and allow players to play only with Core class builds, kicking everyone that come in with a specialization build.

Question for you: Lets assume Anet agrees to increase queue times and adds a new queue. They would then ask us players in poll which ONE you prefer: a) core queue OR b) soloqueue. Adding either of these will decrease pool of players to maintain reasonable matchmaking.

Free to play with restrictions . Core play is easy to separate the free from the customers.
In this can be part only customers and HoT accounts that will have disable the HoT skill.

This season the all 4 accounts were ruby in 2 days
The diamond part took me 2-3 days on 2 and the other i just did the daily 3.
And i was always keep play with main THAT IS WHY I AM SO FURIOUS.
Maybe lifetime mmr and season mmr is different but that doesn’t mean is fair.

Here’s the problem:

You have an invisible ranking called MMR. Your team is based off your MMR and the other team has no correlation to yours. So newer accounts start at a higher MMR than lots a long term players. So they get “carried” by good players while a long term vet who didn’t pvp lots gets punished with bad players on their team

I have 4 accounts as u see from attachment. 2 of them are none HoT accounts and manage to make them Diamond. My main account the stronger one can’t get away from Ruby.
Usually need a pip to diamond ans then 5-6 looses continuously.
Then again the same. The other 3 had to fight with teams that were really bad and many of them had afkers or rage leavers.
Is like u target this account and u say that u won’t upgrade anymore.
I have my doubts that they are many people ( expect ESL player maybe ) have so much experience as me . U need to take my opinion seriously . The divisions as they are now are not fair. In solo part at least cause i am not use to play Teamed. Be Diamond or legendary means that u had luck be with good team mates and very very bad opponents . Of course they are exceptions . Teams and Solo needs to separate from q . And their maps too. Add more maps to solo and Team q and separate them.

I prefer play Necro-Ranger- Guard.

I play Bunker Guard from start till now 1v1 is almost impossible to die. And if i do is my mistake not enemy’s skill cause of my rotation. Bunker Guard in mid die’s cause all normally focus on him. But now they dps him and same time cc him as hell. The result is Guard can’t act . This and luck of dps made him not popular in PvP. DH Bunker die more easy but for now are better choice. I play Trapper Ranger the last 3 years . Usually in 100 (1v1) i winthe 85 of them.
Trapper Ranger not easy to play but Trapper Guard even a noob player can kill u without do many things.
The class is broken end of story! Even mm necro need more skill to win a fight!

What a bout Guardian? I play bunker 3 years . I don’t care meta. Can’t win me easy or can’t win me at all in 1v1 . Me against druid is lost case. Normal Healer vs Healer should have a quick outcome . I fought with druid ( normal ones not noobs) i failed to hold the point. My mates killing him down from keep and i was fighting for my life with his kittening Pet. IS A kittenING HEALER kitten . Guard vs Guard none wins ( Healers not noobs) Healers have to be in balance any healing class must not have the power to kill another heeling class.
These days the dps is insane . I can take it 3 v 3 in mid but if i got lag spike ( for seconds not long ) i am kittenING DEAD!!! Not cause the dps junkies are good but because of lag. What i try to say is that Arena needs to Nerf it . Or find a way to take care this. Can’t allow noobs look like heroes cause of this. Lag spikes will always be not all have perfect Internet connections. This Frenzy dps need to be fix is fun only for them not for the others.

Anet tried to keep people as much as she can by doing maps that take more time than usual to explore add masteries and difficult skill points that cannot be solo it. The people that try to keep longer are the people that devour game contend in a few hours- days and then they say that this game has nothing to give and go away. These people will not be late to finish the game despite Anet try. But all these things make solo and casual player life very difficult!!!! And i believe that these people are more important to Anet. GW(1,2) was always 80% solo in pve .And that is why have so many dedicated players . By doing this in HoT there is a serious chance many of them to give up cause they can’t play. Not many people like to depend from the charity of the other players to find a descent group for doing events and skill points.

Stop being arrogant and trying to reinvent the wheel. All we need is a simple and transparent MMR system similar to what for example world of warcraft has. AND split team and soloq.

It is an MMR system, it’s ran by Glicko2.
You’re wanting high win rate = skill level and that does not equate to skill. That’s only if it’s a premade team vs a premade team – it doesn’t help the solo, duo, trio queue players at all where winrate is always around 50%.

The old system had huge issues with it…. I don’t want to go back.

I have 4 accounts that i play (Why? Is my problem) I play almost only PvP.
The matchmaking really scks. Some days my 2 accounts are so easy doing daily and fast that i can’t believe ( in pvp always)
The other 2 to get 1 win takes sometimes 10-12 games. This thing make’s me feel that account’s random targeting and the kitten them up in matchmaking . I do not not know the reason but it happens. I pay attetion this thing the last 5 months everyday the same. Sometimes is better to leave a game and log another account ( this i try for science is not something that i like ). Why this happen?

Please answer something logical and not only for paserby my question.
And really i don’t care if is difficult or not to find a solution ! 3 years i support u with gems buy accounts etc . I want an honest answer.

There are several factors as to why.
Matchmaking definitely doesn’t show favoritism nor is it random.

Assuming you’re running the exact same class with the exact same build across all 4 accounts – matchmaking is ultimately based on mmr. The longer you play a class on that acount, the more “true” your mmr is going to be for that class.

Judging by “it takes 10 games to get a win”, that account has a high mmr setup for you. The only way to truly know is if we can see our mmr (make it happen anet!)

From what I understand, mmr isn’t seperate on classes, it’s seperated by game modes. If you play Mesmer for the first time in Rank PvP and do terrible, it’s going to lower your mmr on your main class that you usually do good on.

(It’s like this because people would choose a new, low, mmr class to get a newbie matchmaking then switch to a high mmr class for the win. They haven’t set an angorithm to fix it, from what I understand)

So unless you play the exact same number of games with the exact same build across all 4 acounts, there’s going to be differences with your matchmaking because all 4 accounts have differences in mmr.

Thief was a dps example. Can’t Kill any bunker class with 2 hit’s . No strategy. Start to look like FPS now.

I play this from the start . I have all the champ titles in pvp before the game have 1 year life. This thing here is a mess.
Is good for dps junkies and only.
let’s say i have high ping cause not all here be in a high tech country. If a thief touch me i am dead in a sec and he feels pro too. This is a disgrace for this game.
I payed money to support u maybe more than then i have the right to have an opinion and i have the right of bad dsl line. Fast pace dps game is too much . And i am not alone. Now maybe u don’t care my opinion when many stop play u will do.
U manage to make say " every last year is better than this "
If u make DPS paced game u loose strategy. And i am talking about random spvp.
Maybe in teams is different. But ask ur selfs HOW MANY REGULAR TEAMS HAVE THE PVP? HOW MANY kitten . MOST ARE RANDOM .
I will wait to see till this kittening famous expansion goes out then i will see if i continue or not.

I post in forum that i have champ titles from all classes. I mention this cause i don’t want u think that i play only as a Ranger.
All u people complain about ranger need to understand that Ranger is a range class and from the range need to be strong. Why u complain about longbow skill No2? He has only 1 skill that rocks and make Ranger’s burst OK with longbow. May we need to start complain about cele ele that is not comfort for me to fight them? Or cele engi? or turret engi? Evey class has an anti class . Do u forget that s/d forget to stop evade? or is normal to shoot u and still be in hide mode ( as s/p)? Ranger is normal now deal with it and try to find a way to neutralize in teams

Everyone complain about the Ranger. But none speak that the problem is 3-4 same classes in a team.
Example the picture that i attach.
In official tourneys i don’t care so much but this is too much!
3 Rangers one team 4 Guardians from the other.
This have to stop.
Otherwise all play one class and end of discussion !!!!
