Prior to the update, I had two characters who had just finished the My Greatest Fear arc (Apatia for one, Syska for the other), and now I’m seeing no indication of where to go to continue the story, or when the next chapter will unlock. How can I fix this?
I don’t know if Diving Goggles were supposed to be disabled for low level characters, but they’re currently disabled on all of mine, two of which are level 80, and another two of which are very close. Is there any way to fix this?
Feanwan is finally able to wear her Tier 1 cultural. Frankly, I’m surprised that’s heavy armour.
I didn’t know it had changed since the first Feature Pack.
I used to go there all the time when I needed city stuff. Now I tend to go to Divinity’s Reach, the Grove, or Rata Sum. I do like post-Medieval Mainframe, Garden City, and Cube Land a lot better than a dilapidated wasteland, even if said wasteland is a functioning city again.
Waypoints work the exact same way as the magic map does in Guild Wars 1, except you need to pay a nominal fee to the asura instead of free transportation to certain outposts.
Not quite. Map travel in Guild Wars 1 suggests you really do travel the whole way, but they don’t show it. Way points are explicitly recognized in universe as teleportation.
An unidentified device does make sense. If you link your GW1 and GW2 accounts, you get a device that teleports you to the Eye of the North. Presumably, everyone’s got a similar device that attunes to waypoints and allows for easy teleportation. This device also works as a phone for the purposes of messaging, both from NPC’s and other players. The teleportation feature is used in reverse when you buy something from the Gem Store.
Except that Personal Story is full of choices that affect how it plays out. They’d have to disable these choices in order to preserve the progression. And what about rewards? Should players be rewarded every time? Should the reward be reduced on repeats?
Open Cantha but make it an underwater map. That’ll show those fanboys
Actually, serious idea here, open Cantha and have the Jade Sea be mostly underwater content.
When you look at the lore, that doesn’t make a lot of sense. All the water was turned into solid Jade, hence why it’s called the Jade Sea.
Another idea: I’d put Britta Perry in charge of ArenaNet, and let her ruin it without trying.
December feature pack:
Trahearne has learned how to clone himself and has now taken over the world! Every NPC in game has been replaced by Trahearne. All Trahearnes now sell a Mini Trahearne pet for 1 copper. It is now required to have a Mini Trahearne equipped to use waypoints or enter a dungeon, by decree of Emperor Trahearne.
Better: all currency is now also Trahearne. You buy mini Trahearnes for Trahearnes.
Personally I blame the Black Lion Trading Co.’s questionable procurement of quaggan backpack materials (i.e. http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/File:Quaggan_Backpack.jpg) for the decline in their numbers myself.
Those are as adorable as Quaggans themselves.
I tend to prefer matching sets, but here’s my warrior Feanwan in a mix of Pit Fighter and Worn Chain.
I’d find some way to make it so that when your character is defeated, you get a mild electric shock. Also, players can make this happen to other players whenever they want. For the sake of immersion, I’d force the game into 1st person mode and remove the UI, apart from the frame buffer effects.
I generally set Guild Wars 2 to remember my password and auto-play since I’m the only one who uses my computer, let alone plays Guild Wars 2 on it. Since getting around that problem with the Launcher freezing after the feature pack, the launcher doesn’t seem to notice that the “Remember Password” boss is checked. Is there anything I can do to fix this on my end, or is this a bug that needs to be patched?
The female Sylvari PC will scream when she’s on fire, so I’m pretty sure they feel extreme temperatures.
I’ve got a diverse bunch of characters, but I’m pretty sure they’d all smell like dirt and sweat.
So what’s the difference exactly?
There appears to be unused swimwear-type items in the game (no distinct models or textures); why not make something of those?
Oh. I thought people were deliberately saying that, which would have been somewhat funnier.
8/10 not bad, though I get the feeling it might work as a nickname than an actual name.
In case mine need repeating:
Gellain
Rian Sunspear
Feanwan
I keep seeing the word kitten get thrown around with regard to the latest patch, and as what appears to be a replacement for various expletives; how exactly did that start?
Well, my mesmer’s story is here, but I have a few other short stories on the forums. I’m in the process of writing an essay for school and backstory on my Sylvari guardian. Both are a lot of fun.
How do you have a backstory for a Sylvari character? Their story literally begins with their birth.
My Engineer Erina Lannet. I’ve really taken a liking to the Shadow Assassin outfit lately.
You don’t need to have them all in your inventory at once. You collect an item, it adds to your achievement progress, and then you’re free to get rid of it.
It’s a Star Wars reference.
I always found it interesting that they would include things that represent their biggest competition.
Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace is Guild Wars 2’s biggest competition? I can understand Star Wars: The Old Republic, but not that.
7/10 – Kind of sounds German, but it doesn’t seem to translate to anything.
My human is a noble girl, who never searched for her true parents, but because she’s a necro, she can feel in her veins that they’re died already somewhere. She had a cruel story
(I really want to write a fic for my characters, lol)
Her name is Lucia Drake. ^^
I actually picked the same story for my Necro. For the sake of irony, I also had her be blessed by Dwayna. Which god blessed yours?

10/10
Male Warrior – Augustus Rex
Female Necromancer – Iris Rurik
Female Engineer – Erina Lannet
With the Feature Pack, Personal Story chapters unlock every 10 levels now.
@ Alkonium
Not sure my criteria is up to par for Asura names but -
Nuuina – 8/10 Flows nicely, fun to say
Yuaggug -6/10 Flows nicely, not fun to sayMy Asura Engineer is “Hung Lo The Pyro” if anyone wants to rate. XD
7/10 for the humour. Would have worked even better as a Canthan Elementalist in Guild Wars 1.
That’s probably one of the things they’ll be fixing next week.
Both of you forgot to rate the person about you, so I’ll rate both of you:
Peligro Zonianson – 7/10. Peligro is good, Zonianson would fit a Norn better.
Nephologist Yuuna – 9/10. Nephologist is a great title, and Yuuna’s an excellent name.
My two still stand to be rated.
I found the problem: I must have bound End as Stereoscopic Screenshot at some point, my laptop has End and Print Screen on the same keys, and the FN was defaulted on.
I’ve been playing Guild Wars 2 since release, but I recently installed the game on a new computer. Since I knew the computer could handle it, I put the video settings on Best Appearance. While I’ve had no trouble with frame rate, it may have set my screenshots to save as .jps instead of .jpg. Is there any way to change the format back to .jpg, or possibly set it to save as .png?
Doesn’t cut the Fear plotline, also cuts the Apatia story which showed us the VERY big plot point about the krait orb that protects Fort Trinity from the Risen?
Well, so much for that lore!
Actually, if you pick a different Fear story than Apatia’s, the Krait Orb still shows up at Fort Trinity, with some unnamed Pact members talking about it.
I think the issue is how did the Krait Orb get there. With the approach the patch took, it just makes it seem like the Pact just pulled a deus ex machina right out of their kitten .
What I’m saying is that kind of happened already if you did the one with Tonn or Syska.
I’m looking for something less threatening while still staying true to the charr background
That may be hard. Charr are easily the most threatening playable race. Let me think. Is “Coal” threatening? They probably make heavy use of it as a fuel source.
I see it as a reminder that I’m poor, and that ANet has a Randian view of players who don’t have much gold.
Did they get rid of pickup in favour of delivery on approval, or did I just coincidentally loot an item identical to one I ordered?
Edit: Turns out it was a coincidence.
(edited by Alkonium.9164)
Given the Charr’s past history with gods, “Faith” seems like a poor choice. Other ideas: Diesel, Coal, Steam, Steel.

8/10 for the novelty while staying lore friendly.
Brinstar Dragonkill
Gallia Steelguard
9/10
Idgrod Sthairdottir
Thor Bartilson
If that’s really what your Guild is called, I want to join it.
Let me wear something like THIS. WHY IS THIS A LIGHT ARMOR?
Because it’s based on a Necromancer exclusive armour from Guild Wars 1. Necromancers wore light armour, like they do in Guild Wars 2, but all looked pretty hard like that. It was their theme.
Some sort of reference to Doctor Who’s Paternoster Gang?
(I really want to write a fic for my characters, lol)
