As soon as I heard Guardian would get a longbow, I crafted an ascended one and have it waiting in my bank account. Revenant beta did not impress me. But I loved the longbow on the Guardian during HoT Beta Weekend. I’m ready.
Get it done.
We are an interesting bunch. We play the game, we get emotionally invested, and we want to offer advice / demand changes that we feel will improve the game. And the current question is “is ANET spending our money properly?”
If I were an equity holder, I would properly have a “my money” opinion. But as a consumer I think my proper question is “am I getting my money’s worth?” It’s similar to the guys who gripe about the game but continue playing. If you’re not getting your money’s worth of “fun” from GW, just don’t play.
Now I sure don’t want the game to disappear because players leave. And I want ANET to keep new players coming. ANET has to keep working at the player base, keep current players happy and attract new players. I sure don’t know the details of how to do that. I wish we could see ads on TV about GW2 like we do the smart phone games. I want the GW2 community to be large. But I don’t have the insider view to know how to do that.
(I play PvE. I don’t like the idea of playing against other players, I want to play with them. I like Fractals, I don’t like Dungeons. There are others who play like I do, and there are players that don’t. It’s all good. )
I’ve noticed this getting worse over the past month or so. It’s not just Teq, it’s anywhere there is a big event. My client crashes, goes into the “serious error, click send to report..” but I can’t ever click send because it’s too dead. Usually the music keeps playing. Sometimes I can use Task Manager to kill the remaining client app, but I’ve had to actually reboot to get my PC back. I’ve got a gaming machine, lots of memory and CPU. If this is a 32-bit issue, we should all be experience it.
What settings can we adjust to reduce memory usage?
I too have noticed the same thing lately. I have no pictures or particular references. I’ll make a note as I continue the personal story of my latest character and add them here.
Is it just me, or has the drop rate for Bloodstone Dust fallen way low? Used to be Bloodstone Dust and Dragonite Ore were all over the place. Now I’m actually running out of Dust.
I’m stockpiling materials and ascended intermediate mats for the new HoT release, like I’m sure many others are. And the availability of Bloodstone has become an issue for me.
Yikes.. there are people in the world that think software should be free (I’m a software developer for a large aerospace company.. it’s not free.)
People who work at ArenaNet have to eat, pay rent, save for retirement, put their kids through college, etc. We need to support them if we want them to continue to release software that’s “free.”
I run to Best Buy every few months and pick up $100 of Gem Cards. I buy materials when I need them. And I pop repair canisters like candy.
We don’t have to “pay to play” but we should toss something into the pot every once in a while if we expect the game to be here. (Did I mention the electricity bill at the server farms?)
A few DCs the past week, but more significantly I’ve had two client crashes the past few days. Seems to be in boss fights. I get the “send report to Anet” dialog and have to restart client. Today it went into a sound loop before crashing. My computer has 16 GB of memory, new GPU, and 4 dual core processors.
Yak’s Bend .. lags for days and days now .. clearly something has gone terribly wrong.
ArenaNet should be out front with information. Tell us what you’re doing to fix this. The game is not playable much of the time.
Remember the political lesson.. it’s not the crime it’s the cover up. When you do not publicly acknowledge the problem you do yourself a disservice, as well as your customers.
