what I would like to know is if harvesting nodes are going to be uniform for each copy of the map or random like they are now. Because that is going to make harvesting ancient wood and orichalcum a lot harder if everytime you go to frostgorge, cursed shore, and malchors the nodes move. I recognize this doesn’t affect too many other harvesting resources, but for the t6 ones it’s could be really difficult to harvest them at a reasonable rate.
I think the thing that is most frustrating (and I’ve mentioned in another post and wish to expand) is that the new content (Teq, worms, and Marioente) is getting away from their dynamic leveling system. One of the things I remember when GW2 was being hyped was that fights would scale to the number of people present, but these fights don’t scale down unless you have 100+ people. I understand they want the bosses to be an epic fight, and the mechanics involved are cool, but it’s frustrating if you’re playing on down hours or on a smaller server population to complete them at all. It just seems GW2 is going away from made it unique and attracted us in the first place.
I just think if there’s 100+ people that these bosses should scale accordingly, but if there are only 30-40, it should be achievable too. The reason casual players get frustrated by this is because ANET puts out lots of achievement points for em, but make it difficult for any but really dedicated (or lucky) people to get.
I would like to throw my hat in the ring and say that I wish GW2 would get back to the manifesto. With these fights that require highly organized 80+ teams of people, the “burn phase” feels like, I swing my sword, I swing it again, and again, and again, and… I like that the worms have some cool tactics for getting them into a burn phase, but please stop spiking their hp so high all I do is pray everyone is swinging their weapons fast enough. It would be wonderful if the scaling started at 20 and would move up as more people came. Please Arena Net, I love the dynamic system of scaling, don’t go away from it!
On consumable design, in general:
- It’s not really my place to comment too widely on this aspect of the game. I do know for certain it would not be consistent with some of GW2’s fundamental design pillars to create an environment where everyone is expected to have on-hand some elaborate set of consumables needing to be laboriously maintained and activated. This is why, for example, you are allowed only one food buff at a time.
I understand what you’re saying, but the reality is because they exist the big fights that require great precision (Teq, Marionette, Giant Worms) etc. are going to be filled with people who want maximize damage in every way. Which is why before every Teq fight (at least on Dragonbrand) we’d do a run through the events to get mortars and fire eles. I’m not saying/asking for them to be removed, but if you’re going to have something that helps give an edge is a fight that is painful to complete, people are going to require everyone to have it to increase the odds of success. I understand why you made the changes you did, but sadly I think it will mean Teq will not be fought on Dragonbrand again since the fire eles were so core to defeating him.
I understand the need for the change, but if you’re going to put a 30 minute cool down on it, can you make the fire elementals a little more survivable since they melt in just a few hits?
I would also like to confirm, and while I thank you for the solution, I would like to see ANET fix it plz. It’s a ghost town there because the lagg is that bad.
1) I love the idea of new content flowing out. And while I do not want to beat a dead horse I do want to add my name to the list of people who suggest spreading out the release. 2 weeks is simply too short a time to deliver polished material and for players to play through the content while still working on permanent content. So please help yourselves a little bit and take a load off. Slow it down a bit
1.5) My guild has a running joke that everytime new content is released there will be 5+ patches to fix bugs both for content and the things the patch broke. While this is hyperbole, I think not having to release every 2 weeks will help in the number of bugs introduced with each patch.
2) I see lots of people asking for Elona and Cantha. Let’s be honest, I’d rather see those as expansions instead of living world content. It will allow them to build a polished continent like Tyria.
3) While some people have complained about F&F I’d like to say that while some of the achievements that built it up were not that great (fixing sign posts and what not) the amount of time it took to build it up was appropriate. Stuff was going on and we could pursue it but didn’t have to dedicate our entire play time to figure out what was going on/completing it.
4) Sentinel stat crafting. It was really cool to see the release of a new stat set and the dungeon that gave us the material to craft it. When I saw it released I thought it’d stay around and that would be the only place to farm the mats, but then it went away! I’d like to see LW content that gives us the mats (and recipes back) that is permanent so we can always make it.
5) Like others have stated please no more talk to this or interact with this x times. I thought we were getting away from that in this game.
6) Please keep up the hard work. I know you guys are doing the best you can and I hope this helps inform the changes we’d like to see.
Finally figured it out. When I updated to 8.1 the windows update wasn’t grabbing all drivers. Simple solution is to check the box in the update window that says microsoft update. Once I did that I had more updates and solved my TP problem.
Thanks for the suggestions. They sadly didn’t work but that is because I recently updated to windows 8.1 and it was having issues not only within GW2 but other programs as well, but I’ll keep these in mind if the problem persists after I fix the other issues.
I can access the Gem Store, gem conversion and completed transactions. All others tabs on the Trading Post are not showing up. I’ve tried reloging to fix this (as that is the usual fix) but not do. Attaching screen shot of waht the “Trading Post” looks like.
Dragonbrand still down, and I would like to second the call for an update/estimated time it’ll be back up
Keep up the good work ANET
