As I see it, just putting the legendary Weapons in the game, and making the precursor a random drop would shut up all the people Fussing about not getting their Legendary Weapons and that’s good enough for me. In fact, make all the Precursors random drops, so that players that don’t care about collections and story can still get them.

Exactly right and they fulfill their promises of the expansion. It’s a simple solution to a not so very difficult problem.

There is definitely pros and cons to the expansion, but let’s try to keep this thread on topic, which is simply about delaying the production of promised content with the expansion. I would still like to hear from ANET when they plan to resume production of the legendaries so we can enjoy what we paid for. So please ANET give us an estimate on when the remaining 12 legendaries will be released to us. I understand they are a lot of work, but there are changes that could be done to ease the burden and still give us the legendaries. See previous posts for ideas

Just putting my 2 cents in here and I know it’s been said before. I’m glad you’re being honest about this, but I have to agree with the sentiment that we still do not have all of HoT. Yes you gave us a good bit of what was promised, but there are still more aspects to be rolled out with HoT, and axing the legandaries is not a good start. It was promised with the expansion, and 4 is not what you meant. If you truly have 70 people working on the next expansion, then I am deeply saddened. I pre-purchased HoT with the anticipation that you would deliver and what wasn’t ready at launch would come by in a reasonable amount of time.
Raids, I am totally cool with the pace that they’re coming out. But why is the legendary backpack not out? It’s been over 5 months and there has been 0 progression since launch towards the backpack. So those of us who love our fractals continue to sit here and twiddle our thumbs waiting for it to come.
I’m glad you’re looking to the future, but if the focus is on the next expansion and not finishing what you promised to deliver, then I too will be taking a long hard look at buying the next expansion. Pre-purchase is already off the table. The disappointment we have experienced in the HoT release leaves me (and I know others) skeptical that you’ll produce a finished (or even half-finished) product for us to purchase. You’re a business, I get it. But don’t alienate us and tell defend that you delivered everything, when you didn’t. We aren’t claiming you didn’t give us anything, we know you put a lot of time and energy into a lot of this expansion and we thank you for that. We simply want you to follow through on your word, and deliver what was promised.
As others have suggested there are other ways to address this issue. So get rid of the scavenger hunt if that’s really the problem and bring back the RNG. It worked just fine for the first set, so why not do that for HoT legendaries?

Can we please get a subsection in LFG for raids. The sheer number of looking to do this boss or that makes it hard to find anything else like world bosses and such. It’d be nice to have raids, and then one section for each wing, so one area for Spirit Vale and another for Salvation pass, and a third for the final wing whenever it should come out. Thanks!

When they re-vamped the skill points you got one spirit shard on level up, just like you do if you use a tome of knowledge once you’ve reached level 80, which is why I’m mentioning purchasing HoT. Non-HoT accounts still get spirit shards on “leveling up” once at 80

So as a good number of people have noticed, if you buy the expansion you no longer acquire spirit shards for exp because you are brought into the mastery system. While this makes sense initially once you have maxed out all the masteries or have garnered all the experience for the masteries you’re working on and waiting on mastery points there is no benefit to gaining exp.

I would like to suggest that ANET adds a repeatable mastery line that does not cost mastery points that awards a spirit shard each completion. That way we still benefit from gaining experience even if we have maxed out all the masteries. It’s not a huge impact in terms of economy but it would make gaining experience at least feel like I was doing something beneficial for myself instead of watching those numbers pop up and go…well nowhere. Just a thought

Just one suggestion/question. What happened to the 5 fractal key purchase and can we get it back, or can we at least get rid of the confirmation of buying one key at a time? It’s really annoying to have to click yes 20 times to get 20 keys. Thanks and keep up the good work!

After having sent a couple messages back and forth they have refunded me for some of the duplications, they did not give me the criteria. Remember be polite and patient. I thought this was an amazing deal, I couldn’t wait to buy the gems to purchase them. I thought we’d get to exchange/refund the previous purchased tools (like in the past) but then I came to the forums and found out that ANET is not doing that.

Wow, I went immediately from very happy to very sad.

This just doesn’t sit well with me. I’ve always thought their Customer Service was great, they’ve always treated me well. Their current response has stained that perception and I don’t like that.

I’d really like to see the top notch Customer Service I know and love return.

The unfortunate thing about this thread

1) Three different conversations that probably would have been better kept seperate
2) Lack of enthusiasm on all three topics to actually affect any change :/

The last time the community convinced ANET to change it’s mind we hit 60 pages in the first 24 hours, and another 60 in the next 24 hours. This has barely hit 11 in 24 hours which means they’re not concerned about offending too many people.

In general it’s actually a decent deal for people like me, IF they were to refund the duplicate items we have.

Curious, any one had any luck with these sort of tickets? So far mine seems to not be very fruitful despite there being clear precedent that gem store items made either fully or partially redundant, or having their functionality changed, by game updates can be subject for refunds.

No such luck everyone seems to be getting the same response, “It’s not possible” which seems silly, but that’s what they want to say.

Would it be possible for a GM to give us the logic behind the no-refund policy that is inconsistent with the previous times they have offered refunds in the past (harvesting tool and wardrobe changes etc)?

Thing is about this refund policy, it’s actually not that inconsistent. When they changed the tools to account, they offered refunds on duplicates for those that wanted them because this was Anet directly changing how those tools operated. With Wardrobe, all those multiple gemstore skins bought suddenly were available for any character to apply at whim at only a transmutation charge cost, so again they refunded the duplicate purchases back to about a year I think? Maybe to release but I’m not sure on that one.

With this, the tools still operate how they did before, the wardrobe system still works how it did, so it isn’t logical from Anet to go way back and give refunds on items you bought to give yourself a convenience. Retail stores have far less friendly return policies than Anet, and digital stores are often even more stringent.

Note: I’m against the high price of this. I think it’s nothing more than a greedy cash grab, far too outrageous of a price. Btw, to those saying that paying with gold isn’t making Anet money, did you hit your head and forget that all the gems you can buy with gold were sold by other players? Whether you yourself pay with gold, or $, Anet is in effect making the same money off of you (although, because of the exchange rate you could argue Anet makes more money off of buying gems with gold)

This is about the best logic I’ve seen, sad it hasn’t come from ANET :/ That said while I understand your point I’ll still disagree. I think this change does in fact impact the functionality of all the convenience items like the terrace pass, salvage kits etc. While the items themselves are not directly affected as in a direct change to the salvage o matic, the purpose of having one versus many is deeply affected by this change. It is no longer needed to have several. So while I see your point that ANET didn’t change the items we’re requesting a refund on (strictly duplicates) they did negatively impact those who worked around the system of un-shared inventory slots while others that are new to the game don’t have this dilemma and know to just buy one of each item and move on.

After having had some time to think on the whole refund thing I want to voice again the general consensus that ANET should offer refunds on redundant items. It’s a simple logic problem at this point.

No-Refund
Cost to ANET: Nothing
Happiness of game funding players: down

Unhappy players will be wary of spending any more money for a game that is adding new content that makes their previous spending redundant. I (like others) will be loth to spend any more money on gems.

Refund
Cost to ANET: Nothing
Happiness of game funding players: up

Happy players like to keep playing and supporting this game. As more content is released they will reflect on a consistent and generous company that works to help players with significant changes to the game and helps them to have the best possible experience.

Please reconsider and make happy those who continue to support the game through purchasing gems to keep the game going.

I have to say this is disappointing. In the past you (ANET) have refunded us for substantial changes like the shared inventory slots. As others have said my main toon has benefited a lot from these gem store purchases more than any of my alt toons. I don’t see the harm in refunding us gems that we’ll still spend in the gem store. This makes several items obsolete and would not seem like a bad idea to refund the duplicates that we posses. It’s not like we want a cash refund.

As others have also stated it would be nice to have more specific details on what the cutoffs are, unless we’ll get those in individual e-mails.

In summary, please reconsider and do something nice for those who have helped fund the game through the gem store and allow us to get other items in place of obsolete duplicated items that don’t serve a function anymore in light of this addition.

Avoid Traps achievement in Strange Observations is still bugged! I attempted to do the work around that others had found by triggering the trap after everything (having gotten to Taimi without triggering any) and that is apparently fixed. Getting frustrated that I cannot complete my story achievements :/

Please fix! I am one of many in my guild and friends that is having this issue! It is really annoying to have to reset my preferences every time I log into the game. It is resetting ui timers, movement choices (like double tap to evade) and looting as well. Please return us to some normalcy for game play, thanks!

EDIT: Using Windows 10, and this has happened with both the 32 and 64 bit versions

Rev Herald Training Most Expensive

When you click on a trait or skill on the wheel, it tells you the total number of points to get to that trait/skill, not the amount for that skill. So if you just finished Revenant and had about 40 points left over to put into Herald, it would cost 210 points to go all the way to the end (Facet of Chaos or whatever the elite is). Is this what’s happening to you?

That might be it then. That was really confusing thanks for clarifying. Because I click on the elite and see 210 but clicking down each trait decreases by 10, so that’s probably it thank you!

I am not sure if this is supposed to be the case but my Revs (all three) require the original number of hero points (as opposed to the updated amount) to train the Herald elite specialization. From what others have told me this is not right and that it should be in line with all the other elite specializations. Can anyone please confirm if I’m facing a bug or not? And if it is a bug can I please get it fixed. I really want to be able to enjoy all aspects of my Rev, but feel like I’m missing out. Thanks!

I just want to put my voice in here, and I know I’m late to the party, but as someone who has been playing Guild Wars for 8 years (both 1 and 2) I am sorely disappointed in ANET for slapping its vet players in the face. We are the ones who have kept the game going and profitable for them.

I completely understand they want to encourage new people to come check out the game, and I understand their reasoning for including the base game in the expansion. HOWEVER, they should have either had a combo price for that or have a different benefit for those who already have an account. It seems ridiculous that new players get 5 free character slots while vet players get….crickets?

I have normally been very supportive of ANET in the past. Guild Wars 1 and all its expansions were not a disappointment by any stretch of the imagination, it was fantastic. Guild Wars 2 base game was all it promised to be and more. There have been some experiments that didn’t go well, but they have normally done a great job of taking care of their core players who keep playing this game everyday.

I am hoping ANET will give us a response, even if it is something to the effect “We have heard you and are looking into a better solution” would be better than the echos of our frustration going around. I know they don’t want to speak out of turn or make things worse, but ANET please, you’ve had sufficient time to look at this and realize that your good intentions have backfired. I know you guys are good at coming up with solutions that work for everyone, just let us know what you’re doing to improve the situation. Thanks!

Relogging moving character across map

I have had several instances where I will go to a map, go to character select, go back in and wind up across the map.

So far I have noticed:

Sparkfly that I will end up at Braggi’s Stead Waypoint (doesn’t matter where on map I am) When I am trying to find an empty map for teq this is problematic and requires me to burn 2 silver everytime I go back in.

Divinity’s Reach will warp me to Dwayna’s Waypoint usually from Royal Terrace, but has happened elsewhere in DR as well.

So in Guild Wars 1 with our guild halls we were able to have guild alliances and chat with each other and also be able to visit each other’s guild halls. Is this a feature that will be included? Because part of having a guild hall…. is being able to show it off

Dowsing Rod

After completing the new jumping puzzle my friends and I went to return the Dowsing rod and there was nothing. We talked to Veteran Kri’chta and the rod disappeared from our inventories, no special dialog, no special loot. Just poof gone. Not 100% sure if this is a bug, but it seems to be since Kri’ctha is so interested in it.

Quick follow up we should have Politics, Architecture, Economy Art of War, all level 6, we should have at least 30 merits, and somewhere around 1 mil influence, would also like to be issued merits to compensate for lack of ability to run guild missions.

It’s been almost three weeks since guilds have merged and my guild Teq Terror Squad still has not merged. We have 0 influence, 0 merits, we have no upgrades and we do not have any means of running guild missions or running 24 hour buffs. I submitted a ticket two weeks ago, and the only word is, someone is on it. Can I please get this fixed so that my guild is able to run guild missions and have the benefits of being a guild?

Proposal Overview
Change guild mission control to include starting guild mission in map instance. Example: someone in the guild that does not have permission cannot interact with the puzzle start location and cause the puzzle to start.

Goal of Proposal
Encourage guilds to invite people to join them for guild missions and not have to worry about anyone accidently start guild missions. In my guild we run public missions every week and have had troubles where people will start the missions early before everyone is present.

Associated risks
Could make bounties difficult if you are trying to kill multiple targets, but you should have enough people you trust with that and just spread them out.

So when I logged in after the patch, all my other guilds had merged successfully. I am a leader of TTS and 11/12 guilds merged successfully. One of our guilds is still giving this error message
“Your guild is currently unifying chapters. Please check back for updates shortly.”

It’s been 10 hours and still same error, and we have 0 influence and merits (as well as all upgrades missing). I’m just trying to figure out how long shortly is and whether an ANET employee has to sort it out or why it would be taking this long. Anyone know? Thanks!

there are a handful of guilds that fight Teq. The one I’m going to suggest you look at is TTS. It’s a group that is spread across 12 guilds (because there are that many members) and kills Teq (and wurm) on a regular basis. If you want to know when TTS kills Teq and Wurm we have a website ttsgamers.com with a calendar giving the time that we kill them (in server time). If you’re interested in that; you can submit an application there as well.

Bank Vault Note

Has anyone noticed that the old bank vault in LA is broken open and there’s a note inside? It’s a little hard to see it as the Lionguards will kick you away, but I’m curious if that was left by scarlet during her invasion or if someone took the opportunity to loot the vault with the city fleeing for safety. Any thoughts? I have translated the note btw and it’s a simple IOU.

Unfortunately I didn’t screen shot it. But in my fractal run I was knocked down, used my judge’s intervention to get away from harm and was rooted and unable to move for at least 5 seconds. Got downed again so I didn’t have a chance to figure out if timer was still going for downed or not. Just something I encountered.

We are a PvE guild that welcomes everybody and everyone of all skill levels. We’re established on Dragonbrand but are happy to take anyone from any server. We do not have a rep requirement. We run dungeons and fractals regularly and host weekly guild missions.
