Merge the overflows

in The Origins of Madness

Here’s an idea: split the world bosses like Marionette out of the main map, similar to how Obsidian Sanctum was split out of Eternal Battlegrounds, and possibly how Edge of the Mists works.

Not quite instanced content, still arguably open world.

For a example, Marionette could have been constructed up in the mountains (it very nearly is, just put it further up, past where players can normally get to it, but still very visible from the ground). When the event starts, an arrow points to the portal (which would always be open) that takes you to the battlefield. This battlefield is actually a different map, and overflows on it’s own (and it might be interesting to just make every instance of it an overflow, like Edge of the Mists). Since this map is dedicated to this one event, it can have different AFK rules attached, and can be scripted to close if there are no players in it, and possibly if the event is inactive.

Tequalt Spawn Window Too Long

I have to agree here. I don’t mind if the interval is long, but reducing the spawn window to less than 15 minutes would make the event timing more predictable. This would also make the other issues somewhat bearable (though not fix them).

Patch size?

Regarding the differing download sizes, I’d imagine the downloaded is error checking and re-downloading if it doesn’t have a good copy of the file.

With all the connection errors floating around, it would be unsurprising if pieces of files were discarded when the connection was interrupted. You see this a lot with torrent downloads, the download is broken into a series of blocks which are individually checked for errors, and blocks can be downloaded, checked, and downloaded again multiple times before it gets a good copy if the connection is bad.

Underwater Elemental Summons

A while ago the Ranger spirits were given the ability to be summoned underwater, taking the form of porpoises and whales rather than oakhearts.

I suggest a similar capability for the elementals. When summoned underwater, the elementals should take the form of aquatic animals.

For example, the fire elemental would take the form of a shark; water is a dolphin; air either barracuda or eel; earth a whale.

The skills may need to be adjusted to make sense, but I see no reason elemental summons cannot work underwater.

I believe Korsbaek is correct, the Daily Achievement tracker appears to take precedence over the Monthly tracker.

Jumping Puzzle Feedback [Merged]

My take on this is that it bears a similarity to Spekk’s Laboratory. That puzzle was incredibly frustrating to me until I came back the next day and discovered the golems would teleport you to the furthest station you had made it to. After that it was fun, rather than tedious jumping back to my last position to try again. I could measure my progress through that puzzle, and complete it, even though I found it fairly difficult.

On the surface, stations don’t work well with this type of timer, but it can be done. The stations can pause the condition that saps HP while you wait for the next leg to reset. Each leg is progressively harder. Grant the achievement at the first or second station. Start giving item rewards at the second.

You can keep the timer, but add stations to rest and serve as progress checkpoints.
