Just erase backstab bonus from thief and nerf thief’s crits.
That’s all…
That way they will need to get out of stealth more.

Thieves not rendering got my vote… going from 100% to 20% to an invisible foe = broken

Who here knows the mechanics of stealth and thief? Im judging no one above.
The first hit from stealth is pretty much always for free and invisible and usually a backstab or backstab combo.

A fully geared backstab that takes down another glass cannon with no toughness and no orbs and has the HP of a rabbit (or under lvl 80) is perfectly normal.

There are to many glass cannons saying they die to quickly…… thats the issue. Glass cannon is the thiefs favorite prey

I assume you play a thief, and therefor haven’t noticed it.
Spvp and wvw are different. Loading issues in mass pvp, and even when alone if the wvw world is lagging a bit, mean you don’t render after you break your stealth. 4-5s of “loading” invis every time you break your stealth.
Its an issue of visual culling and lag. Again, even with SSD here. There is often a large delay, or as mentioned server side culling.

Yes I play a thief, and Ive killed 3000 people in WvW, a large part of them thiefs. And I didnt use stealth in my build. (Withdraw and RoI)

I have not noticed a rendering issue when killing thiefs that use stealth so must be something your end

Ive only died once from a thief in under two seconds: He used a back stab combo on me but was still able to get him to 5% health in 2 moves before i dropped in about a second flat as i saw him first and took the first move

Looked on youtube… No videos of this rendering issue either and no posts by dev acknowledging it. And lets be fair to Anet…. They acknowledge the issues players have raised pretty well

Most annoying class is thief !
They go stealth, then hit you and go out of stealth, but still u can’t see them because of rendering problem. They get me down until I get what’s going on. Their backstabbing is too OP and needs to get nerfed !

By the way, I don’t get why people are saying mesmers are annoying… I play as an elementalist, mesmer and thief and I often kill them one way or another. Mesmers can’t be a match for thieves. There is a large gap between each of them and thief certainly is the most annoying…

I know you won’t remove JP, but at least give its rewards also from capturing and defending towers.

Maybe it’s OK for blueprints, but JP SHOULDNOT give more badges than capturing and defending towers.

Most people (including me) do it just for badges, not because they like it. JP takes the men power in WvW fights.

Blooring the screen or zooming and limiting the player’s sight CANNOT be an option. You cannot limit my sight or limit my experience I take from game anyway.

The best option is respawning the death player at the furthest waypoint automatically after a while, even if he/she doesn’t respawn manually. This would also help people not to revive an afk player by mistake.

Put the swords —-——- Get huge PvP fights:
Swords help people to know where the battle is going on. I shouldn’t be in need of asking people where to go and wait them for answer. I join the game, look at the map, go to battle and fight.

Remove the swords —- Get tiny PvE fights, lame PvP fights:
Removing swords will seperate people from each other. Maybe not in very organized servers, but in other servers, people will start to shout at main chat: “Where?”, “Where is the fight?”, “Where are we needed?”, “Why doesn’t anybody answer?”, “Use the main chat kittenit!”, “Learn some communication!” and so on… After a while people will be tired of this and start to run around aimlessly, or they will just run around with small groups. No big fights, no epic wars…

If you have a better idea, tell it. But, just removing the swords from map is a bad bad idea…

This is just a way more optimistic idea. This voting system can be exploited many ways.

Yes, i don’t like getting commander tag for 100g too, actually i hate it. It’s so unfair for experienced players who knows tactics and strategy. At the moment, commanders are not experienced WvW players, they are just PvE players who farms a lot. Some person goes and farms money, then comes in WvW and takes the zerg from there to there. People doesn’t care if that person is experienced or not. They just want some organization and follow the tag. Most commanders don’t even know where to put a treb, I tell them where to put.

Talking about the voting system, it MUST NOT be even an option. It doesn’t just solve the problem, but brings more problems like exploiting. It would be even worse. At least there is no exploitation in existing system.

What should be done is making an achievement system for commander tag. People must earn it with their experience they get in WvW, not with their golds. People must need to complete that achievement to get the commander tag. This way, only those who are experienced and plays WvW so much would become commanders.

Buying commander tag for 100g is bad and unfair, but voting for it is even worse.

You guys are making no sense.

Instead of saying “remove repair cost”, learn to survive. Repair cost is essential. Without it, people would play like mindless chickens. I never thought repair cost is so much or so low. Actually, that is the only really working thing in WvW in my opinion.

I always made profit after my WvW plays and never got out with less money.

Eliteseraph, I completely agree with you here.

In the beginning, I was very excited about WvW either. That was the biggest thing I wanted while I was playing alliance battles in Guild Wars. However, as I play more and more WvW, it became dull for me. It’s now just a place to farm karma and some experience.

Really… What is the point? No satisfying rewards, player vs door fights, zerg zerg zerg, no defending the towers, capture-lose-capture and lose again and capture again… Why are we capturing? Why are we defending? It became repetitive.

Also people doesn’t care about defending towers, since they can cap it again easily and gain more experience.

This is not World vs World anymore. This is becoming to be just a capture race…

Sorry, but people won’t deal with it. You can’t enforce anyone to accept the current situation. I’m not talking about losing or winning here. I’m talking about getting heavily outmanned. Sorry, but that’s not fun for me and for many who think like me. As long as the current situation exists, people will keep changing their servers.

I really liked your model Draygo. Everybody makes some comment in either positive or negative way, but we can’t know the exact result without trying this. I personally don’t play WvW when my team is heavily outmanned that week. I think your score model can bring solution to this and give me the fun i miss in WvW.

Also, I loved this idea, because it will completely remove the zerg mentality and people will start to defend their towers and keeps in my opinion. Currently people doesn’t care about losing a tower, they say “never mind, we can capture it again”.

American players in EU servers in WvW

Ok, I will tell about a huge problem we encountered in my server last week.
I’m not talking here about EU time zones, I don’t care about it, there is not big difference in EU times. What I’m tired about is having American and south American players in EU servers. This is a really big problem and most people in my server are really sad about this. I don’t accept the answer “we can’t do anything about time zones”, sorry. Many people changed server last week and many people including me stopped playing WvW last week just because of this reason. I don’t wanna change my server because of this, i like my server, but the situation in WvW is really boring at the moment.

I play in Gandara EU server. Last week, we had spanish Baruch Bay server as our opponent. Well, I and almost every person in Gandara are sure that not only Spanish people play in Baruch Bay but also Latin Americans play in that server. It is nopoint to fight for victory against them since they have huge amount of players all night and all day long. We were heavily overmanned, and that really ruined the fun i was taking from the game and stopped playing WvW like many in my server.

One big problem at having transoceanic players is ping problem. This again ruins all the fun, because many like me had 10 fps last week. However this is not the case this week since we don’t have Baruch Bay as opponent. We have better fps this week, how about that?

I’m not talking about night cappers here, donot misunderstand me. I’m talking about being heavily overmanned all night and all day long. Please ArenaNet but please don’t let American players play WvW in EU servers. I’m sure that there is the same problem in American servers too. Donot let transoceanic players play WvW in over ocean servers.

I don’t want to stop WvW from week to week, or change my server because i like my guild and server.

One other thing i wanna mention is I don’t like this ranking system at all. Ranking system should not work according to the points. It should work according to the amount of online players each server has. Current ranking system is so basic and not working.
