Weapon and undies dying? hell yes!
why is every1 talking about this feature as if it’s some new graphics option designed to rip your pc to shreds… it’s already in game, it already activates every time you character overlaps with another or with gathering points… it’s already in and it working flawless without any performance drawbacks…. we just need an always enable button for some ppl….
I don’t think it has too big of a performance impact if none at all from what I experience… it would be an optional thing no doubt that some ppl like myself would enable because they like the look of it
*and since it’s already in the game I don’t see how it could have any negative impact, I’m no programmer but I wouldn’t be surprised it it was a matter of just changing a code line to make it available

I just love it when I see those character outlines in GW2, they offer so much definition to the armors and general characters enabling you to see every line, every spike of what you are wearing.
I would really love to see a check box in the graphical options menu that allows for this feature to be always on.
What are you thoughts on this?
I agree with this
1. Movable target health frame…. it gets in the way of seeing the “whole world”
2. A target of target frame -> we need this because it’s not the easiest thing in the world to know when you are being attacked especially as a melee when you and 20 other ppl are bashing on the same target not to mention with all those particle effect flying around.
Also even when a small number of ppl are fighting it’s still hard to know when you are about to get stumped on. In situations when you are underwater for example and your character is sitting higher than your target thus blocking out any visual hints that you are about to be hit…
3. Fixed positions for buffs and debuffs -> It’s hard to monitor buffs or debuffs on your self or your enemy when they constantly keep shifting left and right when new buffs or debuffs get applied.
Also it would be nice if all buffs and debuffs were displayed but faded out if you are not under the effect of either one of them and then displayed at full opacity when under their effect.
3.1 Movable buff and debuff location and the option to separate buff location from debuff location. ( buffs on the left… debuffs on the right for example).
3.2 Ability to change the size of the buff and debuff icons independent of the UI size and preferably by slider as opposed to fixed sizes.
4. Some dungeons have incredibly small corridors/fighting areas where it’s downright impossible to know what the hell is going on….
5. World bosses are not aggressive/intimidating enough… they’re basically huge target dummies:( … first to come to mind is that giant that comes to the charr base … he is not threatening in the least, you can just auto attack him from a distance unless you have the audacity to get up close and then it’s a totally different story…
6. Hair clipping through shields… I flat out refuse to use a shield on my norn guardian female because her hair clips through the shield and it looks awful
7. Asura teeth look like they are made out of paper… same goes for the charr frontal teeth.
8. UI arrangement in character creation… the buttons/sliders whatever get in the way of properly seeing the character…..
8.2 Make a STAND STILL!!! button when in character creation that freezes your character in place… it’s hard to properly adjust your character profile when it keeps moving like that….
8.3 Height slider in character creation -> it gives absolutely no indication of how tall or short you will be in game!!!!
My suggestion: make the the height adjustment option in the character creation screen a whole new page where you can see your height relative to the medium height of all the other playable races in the game and the option to also modify the height of those.
9. Immortal target dummies….. WE NEED THEM!
10. A character rename service.
that’s all I can think of for now….

who said it had to run perfect?
I expected it to be playable… witch is not…
And it’s an mmo not a Far Cry sequel, that means they should learn a thing or two from WoW witch they are trying to grab some player base from and make it at least playable for them.
And yes, we’re not all rich you know or we have bigger priorities in life and in this particular case I don’t see GW2 being the financially sound option even with it’s subscription free model
I wasn’t expecting arenanet to send me a new pc lol…
however with the money needed to buy a new pc I’d rather play wow for at least 3 more years with runs like butter at MAX settings.
And pls let that be the one and only mention on wow here, I don’t want this thread to turn into something else but that’s just practical thinking if you think about it…
btw, yes I am aware the the cpu is bottle necking my rig but honestly I played much more impressive games on my rig with much higher fps, lets not deny the fact that there are still problems with gw2’s optimisation.
tbh I am experiencing similar fps with a much lower spec pc…
intel core duo 1.8ghz
2gb ram DDR2 1066
and a ATi HD 5670
Ok, first of all my computer kinda sucks and barely meets the requirements and thus my fps is really low.. between 18-25 fps, 30-50 fps if conditions are ideal BUT that’s not really why I’m writing this, I knew what I was getting myself into after playing the betas…
The weird thing is that whether I run the game at ABSOLUTELY MAX settings or on the LOWEST settings my fps does not change… what’s the deal here Arenanet?
The only conclusion I can draw from this is that the game is miles away from running as smooth as it could… even on my crappy pc.
I agree with the OP> the staff skills just don’t flow well enough.. not on their own and not as much with anything else because of the cluncky mechanics associated with this weapon.
I’d like to be an option with witch you can change between how gw2 is now and crosshair mode especially for aoe spells and for movement spells such as warrior charges because if you are trying to run away from some1 as a warrior by using charge and not deselecting your target then you will actually wind up back to your attacker:(
So I’d rather have a modifier key then when pressed makes all your abilities hit/cast at crosshair position regardless of selected targets
agreed. this need to be fixed
