Playing a little bit of my warrior using an android handheld device via Raptor with it’s built in gamepad.
I feel ya, that kitten is aggravating as kitten!
-Condition has always been far too easy to apply, reapply, and offers no immunity timer.
-The damage is horrendous and stackable
-There aren’t enough cleanses for some classes
-Condition needs ONE stat, ONE STAT to make it good.
-Power needs at least 3 making everyone super glass
-Spammable
-Aoe
-Eats through things like Endure Pain
-Completely disregards protectionSo, I’ll say again, what exactly is NOT op or broken about conditions? Weve been through this condi meta for years, despite “nerfs” here we are, still being destroyed by simple application from range.
Where as I, a power Warrior, have to physically hit you through protection , blocks, dodges, blind, cripple, hard CC, soft cc, chill, etc
Where exactly do you not see the issue?
It’s amazing how blind the devs are to this.
Conditions are the CANCER of this game tbh.
I share the same dream m8 BUT this will NEVER EVER HAPPEN!
Bcz anet are a bunch of soup nazzys.
Many ppl that played GW1 and GW2 from the start probably know first hand that these games had one if not the most friendly community among MMORPGs.
However in the last year from my experience the community has started turning for the worst at a rather accelerated rhythm.
Now of course the PvP community will always be more toxic than the PvE, that is understandable but even there GW2 managed to do better that many other similar games.
These days in PvP you get random rather disturbing whispers from either team mates or the enemy team.
I got hateful /w from teamm8s even when our team won by a respectable margin.
I got hateful /w from enemy players after they had defeated me!
I got hateful /w for being proffesion x or y (thief or warrior mostly)
The rather ok community in pvp was a big part why I didn’t give up on GW2 completely because if we get in to the balance part of the game it’s rather non existing.
So? Where is all this h8 coming from?
All that Anet has done in an effort to sell more copies is open the flood gates with the free base game to an angry army on 12 year old boys going through puberty and lashing out at everything in sight and ruining what was left of an otherwise poor experience for the rest of us.
What is there left now?
NOTHING!
The community is toxic and the game in PvP is less than a joke.
I can somewhat tolerate the toxicity in some other games because they have solid mechanics and balance for PvP but here…… Nothing Remains!
Anet is as transparent as a sack of door knobs.
Thank you for the input Bezerker, I wan not to far ahead with my “plan” though:)
I used to watch a lot of drybear in the past and heard HiRez is very ok with pro active content creators. What follows we’ll see..nothing is set in stone.
As fas as for Tribes Ascend I can see why they would abandon it although as you said it was nice of them to keep the servers running and I heard they actually released a content patch for it quite recently.
I guess Tribes wasn’t profitable enough so that’s why it was left by the side.
On the other hand I don’t see Smite ending up in the same place just because it is so popular. I mean they already had like 1.3mil $ prize pool last year from what I remember, for a new moba game that is quite impressive and I guess it will only go higher from here.
Anyway I don’t want ppl to think I’m trying to break the community or anything, if anything I see cries for help all over the place on these forums and if there is a game out there that encourages you to leave and come back that is GW2!
I love the game but in all honesty Anet is taking wayyy too much time between balance patches and that just leaves us the players with more time on our hands to be disappointed and vent our frustrations on these forums witch sometimes don’t seem to be read by the right ppl at Anet although I might be wrong, Anet is just not transparent enough to give us hope for the future atm.
Hey all, I’m a long time MMORPG lover and I first started with World of Warcraft of witch I played almost 7 years. After that the next big thing war Guild Wars 2.
Both in WoW and GW2 I love to pvp but “balances” happen and some classes/professions are left behind in the process: warriors and thieves.
Now for those of you that are frustrated enough and want something else, might I make a recommendation? It is the closest thing that I have found to a MMORPG style combat with a third person camera and that is SMITE.
If you never heard of Smite, it is a 3rd person MOBA and again for those ppl here that need a break, this might be your perfect “vacation” till Anet gets their kitten together:)
I have a few games recorded on my channel for any1 interested in having a look and going for a little detour of the current meta:
Hope you enjoy: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mxbxp-wGXl4

SO here’s the deal. Yes… the traps are super strong, they do ridonculous dmg and have cc with the ulti BUT why would you go in them? ….. assuming you can actually see where they were placed
Well you DONT! You just range the DH right? so as to avoid the traps but here is the kick in the teeth: The DH longbow dmg is wayyy to high to warrant any sort of counterplay around those traps…
my 2 cents.
Either way it’s kittened as kitten. 10 stacks out the kittening window…. gg anet
Rev downed skill 2 removes all stacks of stability on enemies. I tried to stomp 2 revs today with Dolyak signet activated and their 2 ability knocked me back and removed all 10 TEN of my stability stacks.
The kittening queue timer is too short!
And how about games should not begin if 1 of the teams gets a DC.
That’s right, I literally just turned around to grab a bagel and when I looked at the screen I was already kittening dishonored!
I AM NOT JOCKING !!
I see what you did there
)
YEah and I would totally like to have burst skills for offhands as well as that would give us greated versatility and increase our potential skill ceiling.
Yeah as I said above, the confusion fetish is just for thematic reasons alone.
Also I leave the dmg numbers and balancing to be done by the devs, these are just ideas that can be adapted, they are not set in stone.
As for the offhand bursts for sword, torch, mace, axe…. I TOTALLY FORGOT about them:)) this was done first thing as I woke up:P
The general idea is to MAKE THE PROFESSION INTERESTING! We do not use magic, we are not flashy, that is why in my opinion we need some COOL abilities even if they don’t quite gell into a combo, that can be fixed along the way.
That is all I want and why I was so dissapointed with the berserker elite…. it is totally uninspired!
The reason I added confusion so much to the activation and burst skills is because in my minds that makes thematic sense for the berserker, it’s not because I wanted to turn all the weapons into condi. When the warr goes berserks it takes his enemies by surprise thus his new movements and abilities confuse them, that’s how I imagine it.
And the reason I changed some abilities witch some might consider decent in their current state is simply because I believe that the existing one lack flavor.
It’s hard to make the warrior look flashy and cool with the lack of magic witch I do not want so the only way around that is with abilities that do cool stuff.
Each individual weapon has it’s own specific effect when activating berserk and it’s own primal burst. Also when using main hand and offhand we can choose witch “on activation” and burst skill we want to use.
Greatsword:
On activation: Thrust your greatsword in to the ground creating three shock waves that knock enemies back, deal a low amount of dmg, reflect projectiles and apply confusion. This ability is also a stun break and applies 1 stack of stability while casting it.
Burst skill: Take a small leap forward and slam your greatsword in front of you dealing a moderate amount of dmg and also leaving behind a portion of scorched earth where your strike landed witch continues to dmg enemies if they stay in it(similar to the mordrem snipers). This should be made as a skill shot so we aim the direction of the ability.
Hammer:
On activation: Unleash the power of your hammer, you gain 3 stacks of stability and might and your next three attacks apply confusion.
Burst skill: This is a skill shot witch looks like a long rectangle on the ground that is split in two: enemies that are caught in the portion closest to you are briefly stunned, receive moderate dmg and you also apply confusion on them.
Enemies located on the far side of the rectangle are THROWN UP IN TO THE AIR!
far enough that they receive moderate falling dmg when they land although the skill itself does not dmg them. Also you apply confusion on them.
Rifle:
On activation: Fire a rapid burst of three shots that daze and apply confusion ( like 3 shots in one second or less!)
Burst skill: Misfire your riffle creating a cloud of smoke at your location witch applies blindness and destroys projectiles.
Longbow:
On activation: Perform a 360 spin unleashing a flurry of arrows that bleed and cripple enemies around you.
Burst skill: Close range, grab and arrow from your quiver with your hand and stab your foe in the eye blinding him, applying confusion and dealing a high amount of dmg.
Axe:
On activation: Gain fury, might and swiftness. Your next three attacks apply confusion.
Burst skill: Throw your axe at your foe logging it in his body followed by yanking on the chain attached to it and pulling your foe to your location. Deals moderate dmg and applies confusion.
Mace:
On activation: while in berserker mode all your hits will apply vulnerability and confusion.
Burst skill: Consume all built up stacks of vulnerability and confusion on your foe, clearing them when you strike him for a final blow that deal dmg according to the nr. of stacks.
Sword:
On activation: Bounce the sun’s light off your blade blinding your enemy and swiftly kicking him to the ground applying confusion.
Burst skill: Swiftly strike your opponents hand disarming him of his main weapon.
OFFHAND WEAPONS:
Shield:
On activation: Throw your shield at your foe dazing him and applying confusion and weakness.
Burst skill: Buckle down, raise your shield and start running becoming a bulldozer that knocks down everything in his path.
Warhorn:
On activation: Blow with all your might causing nearby enemies to be confused. Not only do you apply confusion but your enemies have their controls reversed making it very hard for them to do what they want.
Burst skill: Deflecting roar, blow your horn creating a powerful wall of sound in front of you that deflects all incoming projectiles.
I just played a game, WON and then proceeded to exit only to find out when requeueing that I was dishonored….
You can definetly tell Anet “listened”.
Warrior are like bad kitten T-rex , sad part is they are fighting against kittening flying saucers with particle beam canons that can stealth and teleport and fire flying sharks with lazer beamz attacked tot their heads!
it’s only recent for me since hots
Any other game mode besides Conquest is welcomed change imo
I’ve lost sooooo many fights cuz the downed player CAN NOT BE STOMPED!
I stomp a guy 3 times in a row and he WONT DIE!
That Queue block is the most kittened annoying shait ever to be put in a video game
Warriors just need a surv buff and also FIXING many of our USELESS utility skills. We got all the physical + new rage skills except Headbut witch are useless.
Yep out of combat it just vanishes!
Like in all mmorpgs there is this unwritten tradition of always having handicapped warrior class/profession. I can remember the Vanilla – Wotlk warrior nerfing drama like it was yesterday, always always keeping us under the table while most of the other classes were facerolling around….
Guess the story hasn’t changed….
boring bland uninspired
Let’s start off with the new utility abilities we’re getting:
Sundering Leap:
Leap to a location and gain adrenaline. When you land, deal damage and inflict vulnerability on all foes in the area.
Damage: 512
10 Vulnerability (6s): 10% Incoming Damage, 10% Incoming Condition Damage Adrenaline: 5
Number of Targets: 5
Radius: 180
Combo Finisher: Leap
Range: 600
Did warriors really need another leap? very uninspired and although it’s part of the whole new rage utilities it’s really just another physical utility that gives adrenaline…. wohooo….
Shattering Blow: Summon a rock in front of you, and then shatter it to gain adrenaline and send rock fragments at all foes in front of you. Foes bleed based on how close they are to the rock. The shock wave produced by this attack reflects projectiles
Damage: 631
4 Bleeding 0-200 (10s): 880 Damage
3 Bleeding 201-400 (10s): 660 Damage
2 Bleeding 401-600 (10s): 440 Damage
Adrenaline: 5
Number of Targets: 5
Reflects Missiles
Range: 600
Just as many others before me have said: WARRIORS DO NOT SUMMON kitten!!! WE ARE NOT MAGICIANS!!! THE kitten!?
Make the animation so that we pull the rock out of the ground or something because this is unacceptable!
This is not as bland as Sundering Leap but still nothing to write home about.
Wild Blow: This is a critical attack that knock back your primary target and up to 4 additional foes your primary target collides with. The first hit always crits.
Again just another physical utility that gives adrenaline and is now part of the new rage skills…. this one could be fun but it’s VERY situational….
Outrage: Stun break on a 10s recharge. Has no other function other than stun break.Gain adrenaline based on how surrounded you are. Stun break is self only.
How many anet devs do you need to come up with such a genius utility like this really?
It’s really boring, very simple and stupid, let’s just slap a super small CD on it and maybe no one will notice right?
Head Butt: Crowd control elite on a 20s cooldown. Short range dash attack that stuns the enemy for 3s and also stun you for 1s.
Well here we go again, there seems to be a trend here, very uninspired but they slapped the smallest elite CD yet and passed it on as an elite…
Now as uninspired as this elite is I’ll give it a pass simply because it might be very good in pvp. However that is not an excuse for the continuous trend of lack of inspiration that the devs had for this core specialization.
Torch skills:
Blaze Breaker: Hits the ground and create a cascade of attacks. Each rock that pops out of the ground inflicts cripple and burning and can hit up to 3 targets. It cascade 5 times in rapid succession and you can get multiple stacks of burning on a single target.
Since when are people bashing torches against the ground!? I understand mace, I understand hammer, even a sword maybe but a torch!!!??? Won’t that extinguish it? won’t that bend it the kitten out!? Torches are not meant for bashing against the floor!
Flames of War: Sets you on fire (doesn’t actually place burning stacks on you) and remove conditions. It turns you into a mobile fire field. Every second enemies around you are set on fire. You can swap weapons while using this skill as the fire field persists.
I like how this skill works, it has a lot of synergy with almost all the other warrior weapons BUT again, it doesn’t make much sense!
Primal burst skills:
Flaming Fury: Sword F1 skill. Change your standard sword flurry F1 skill to shoot fireballs. It will cut down any projectiles as well.
It seems like a decent alternative to the regular F1, it has good utility, it’s ranged and applies burning. Don’t ask me how the flames come out but oh well….
Arcing Sear: Greatsword F1 skill. Creates an expanding ring of fire. You can interact with this fire field to get combos.
Well now we have a Greatsword F1 that may actually have some use, duration seems a bit short but u take what u get I guess.
Scorched Earth: Longbow F1 skill. Fires a projectile that leaves behind a trail of fire fields. The arrow itself doesn’t do any much damage, it is the fire fields it leaves after that will deal the most.
I’ll take the regular F1 over this any day thank you.
Gunflame: Fire a fast, flaming shot that explodes when it hits, interrupting foes.
Damage Damage: 2,736
3 Burning (3s): 1179 Damage
Daze: ¼s
Number of Targets: 5
Radius: 180
Combo Combo Finisher: Physical Projectile
Range: Range: 1,500
Killshot with a little bit of pzaz… keeping up with trend of uninspired design.
Skull Grinder: Mace F1 skill. Applies lots of conditions – daze, blindness, weakness, confusing, cripple. Act as a blast finisher.
An improvement over the old F1 because of the small leap.
Rupturing Smash: Hammer F1 skill. Doesn’t stun anymore but creates shockwaves that cascades in 5 directions with each cascade acting as a knockback. Enemies only get knocked back once by the cascade.
And again the trend continues….
Decapitate: Axe F1 skill. Does less damage than Eviscerate but also hit up to 5 enemies behind your primary target.
Very weak, very uninspired.
As it is blatantly evident the sole reason Warrior elite spec was revealed so late was not because of the amount of work that got put into it but rather the lack of because of the lack of ideas!
Now I’m just a guy in my bedroom critiquing but you can’t knock me because of that when the product you have put out in the form of the Beserker is so sub-par!
Now I don’t want just to critique so here are some of my suggestions:
Beserker mode suggestions:
Make each weapon have an unique effect when switching into beserker mode. Here are some examples:
Greatsword: Lift the sword up above your head shouting witch deflects missiles, fears nearby opponents, grants might and engulfs your blade in flames witch apply burning for the next x attacks.
Hammer: Smash the ground repeatedly at your current location dealing damage in an aoe that applies weakness confusion, cripple and vulnerability to every1 caught in the radius. Maybe even applies a screen shake effect to your enemies similar to kabrakan from Smite.
Longbow: Perform a 360 unleashing 360 arrows, 1 / degree. Each arrow applies bleeding and cripple.
Riffle: Start firing raw gunpowder around yourself creating a cloud of smoke that blinds enemies entering it and destroys projectiles.
Mace: Start beating your chest with the mace while chanting a battle song. Receive protection, vigor, fury and might.
Sword: Catch the light of the sun shinning against your blade creating a small frontal cone that applies blindness.
Axe: Start spinning your axe in one hand granting you swiftness and actively decreasing your cooldowns the more it spins.
So these abilities just represent the transition from normal warrior to beserk and not the actual primal rage skills witch could be as following:
Greatsword: Charge a foe with the width of your sword pinning them against the ground and pummeling them.
Hammer: Smash your hammer in to the ground denting the ground at your lovation location and elevating it a few feet forward sending any enemy standing on that spot flying in to the air.
Longbow: Fire an arrow that hoists itself into the flesh of your enemy followed by tugging on the rope attached to it and pulling the pinned enemy at your location.
Riffle: Charge a foe with your riffle, impale him and fire shots as he is resting on top of your barrel.
Mace: Massive uppercut! Make a short dash to your foe and deliver a massive uppercut that sends him flying in to the air applying weakness and confusion.
Sword: Start slashing indiscriminately in a short frontal cone while scrapping the floor and sending out sparks and flames and deflecting ranged attacks. Applies burning and blindness.
Axe: Engage in a furiously fast paced “brakedancing session” that has an unpredictable trajectory and slashes foes bleeding and crippling them.
Torch skills suggestions:
Torch nr.4 : Ignite weapon: gain burning for the next x attacks and get might.
Also anet: Why not address the old Physycal Utility skills !? they are so underwhelming and need rework… this would be the perfect time you know….
yes I’m from europe
First let me start by saying that I have a very stable and very fast internet connection so the problem is not on my side.
PvP in unplayable when Earthshaker takes 2 second to actually kick off and switching between weapons takes the same….
dolyak signet heal is MINUSCULE, not worth it.
Simple WoW type arenas would be a godsend 2v2, 3v3, 5v5…..
Looking for a nice guild that has lots of ppl willing to do team arenas any time of the day.
Give us full particle effects for stowed weapons
I don’t think that asking to look good while PvPing is too much…. it’s quite sensible really…
If your char was wearing a trashcan and plastic bag shoes while PvPing would you enjoy it?
So…. I’m a PvP kind of guy, never loved lvl-ing up or PvEing…. 90% of the 6+ years I spent playing WoW I PvPed.
HOWEVER I’m not PvPing in GW2, now why would that be?
Well first of all they got the lvl-ing part right as far as I’m concerned and I actually loved it so getting to max lvl was a good experience.(But why would you lvl up in a game that makes you max lvl for PvP?? -> I don’t know… brainwashed by wow / wanting to see the story, doesn’t matter… I did and it was good).
Now for the actual barrier for me: I AM NOT ABLE TO USE MY HARD EARNED PVE SKINS IN PVP!!! Yeah.. I don’t care if that makes sense to you or not but with the pvp skin reward system being the kitten lottery that it is I just can’t seem to get myself motivated enough to grind through all the crap and misery while being dressed in that god awful starter armor skin -> HIDEOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So, I just made this thread to express my disappointment in anet’s art direction regarding weapon design.
Most of them just look FLAT, literally… they have no real volume and many of them are very disproportionate like for instance the guild reward 2h sword… the one that is chopped off…. it’s heel size/gurth ratio to the rest of the weapon is WAYYYY off….
Others look downright flimsy or rusty beyond proper usage.
Others are disproportionally big with regard to the size and stature of the character, being so long that they clip through the ground or so thick that they look like tree stumps(gem store 1h mace).
Others have such BLAND BLAND color schemes that they pale when matched with any vibrant colored armor set.
Not to mention here the weapons that look like they had their outline drawn by a guy hooked up to a wall socket, jaghy/spikey/jittery way beyond what I’d find artful or acceptable.
They did get some of them right, only a handfull in my book: Volcanus, Sunrise, Twilight, Asura T3 greatsword, CoE greatsword(though certainly not my favorite but it is well defined, right proportions and has volume), Corrupted Avenger and most of the Corrupted weapons with the exception of the 1h sword witch is wayyy too long…
There’s not much to do in this game beside skin grinds and when so little of it appeals then what is there left to do? …. NOTHING!
This is definitely a must !!! It’s just so hard to actually farm any of those lodestones it’s ridiculous
there’s definitely a common root to all the problems posted here
You mean YOUR problems. Your problems aren’t shared by everyone. My armor was broken from the day I bought it. Which was well before the Jan. 28 patch.
So post your issue and get in line with the rest of us. You can’t expect the developers to know every single bug in their code the moment it happens.
I’m not talking just about my issues here and just the fact that your armor was broken from day 1 doesn’t mean every1’s else’s was.
This happened so many times back when I was playing wow… orc shoulder size after patch x, tauren weapon size after patch y and so so many more examples of that nature, it doesn’t take sherlock holmes to figure out a connection between these patched and the effects they have, hence they alter the game code in some way that screws with all this stuff
actually on my character everything was just fine until the patch, all my gear and even that Primevil heavy set from the jem store, now almost everything clips, on top of that the Primevil set looks almost unrecognizable especially the leg piece witch looks like it’s been chopped a foot short both front and back…. there’s definitely a common root to all the problems posted here
OK, just going to say it: I don’t really like how anet is handling this situation:
having every user experiencing issues post their problem and hopefully getting it fixed might seem ok but why not go back and see what the root of all these graphical abnormalities is in the first place instead of patching it up bit by bit?
What if I’m too lazy to start posting in detail with screenshot and all that? what if I don’t even know this forum exists? Does that mean that many of these issues will go unfixed? not every has the time to come here and document their problem or problems seeing that there can be more than just one when ppl have multiple item sets…
Ok so since last patch I have noticed some fishy things happening with my armor:
1. my Nobleman’s gloves are clipping with the sleaves from my chest armor witch didn’t happend before and now I purchased the Primeval armor skin to find out that looks different as well particulary the legging have that front bumper thing significantly shorter and oddly positioned such that I regret spending the 500gems now since before I absolutely loved the way it looked.
I don;t know if these bugs manifest to all races or not but on my norn female the do…
pls fix:(
