[coVn] Witches I Chaotic Good
Fort Aspenwood
I probably pick up about 60% of my loot bags. Not from death, but from moving too fast without time to backtrack, search and pick loot up. My worst was when I died at the bottom of the stairs on inner SMC with ~16ish loot bags around me.
Would be nice if there was some compensation, or tracking on missed loot that you havent picked up.
GW1 had such system. Even a system that placed important loot (eg. Hero armor) straight into your inventory.
It’s fine. It’s just that PvErs havent had much experience with dealing with the condition bar a select few mobs. I bet the OP will complain about retalliation once Anet gives mobs a means to stack retalliation for a lengthy duration to actually give some meaning to boon strips in PvE.
And if this is speaking about how powerful confusion is in WvW (as the sPvP variant does half damage), It’s only fair for me to point my fingers at crit damage caps being double in WvW compared to PvP.
I remember our last match with SoS (it was a one week match). We were winning by a lot and then SoS got a ton of transfers throughout the week. We still won since we were already ahead. Mag was the other server in the match. Mag had to deal with SoS 2.0 (this is what the server was called at the time) the week after.
Oh was it a week long match?
I think i remember that now. I do remember the matchup before that when we fought Blackgate 2.0/Bestgate. The horror!
Players just need more feedback. Feedback that stems from good gameplay from players that know the patterns and timing to counter stealth.
Other than that, yeah, well, there is a cullinig issue that is making stealthers give more stealth uptime than what’s intended.
I cant hate on transferring anymore.
Especially if you have to pay to do it now.
Mind your own business and let them transfer. Something big and personal to the guild must have went down to cause an entire guild to pay their way out to integrate with another community.
This change makes actually defending supply camps all that more important. As you simply cannot “reflip a supply trail”. Let alone does it encourage players in general to be more attentive to what is happening on the map.
Sure, you can make a case for “camping a supply camp isnt fun”, and i’d probably agree, but that’s a discussion for another day. Or you can make a case for the map having little feedback as to when a supply camp can be flipped if you want to put what’s happening in the 3D world more involving instead of sitting and watching a 2D map change colors.
I dont look for fights in the JP. Nor do I frequent the JP often. I’ll go if there is nothing in EB and I see a “Porting JP” and I’ll just leave enemies inside as killing one player is a waste of time when I can wipe zergs instead.
But you cannot blame these players for PvP happening in a PvP zone. Man up if you want to come out on top of a fight, as I assume you posted this as you fought and lost. Some players love the tension of combat encounters in the Obsidian Sanctum, if you dont, then head elsewhere. If you need badges… like play WvW for what WvW is for; the badge drop rate is better now.
Removing culling sounds legit.
Your real concearns are how the new behaviour affects bandwith on the server side, where activating skills will not go off ie. The Lord Room Syndrome.
OR
How your PC responds to the amount of things the client is telling your PC to render, causing performance problems that your PC didnt experience prior. Ideally this can simply be solved by dropping some of the settings down.
So excited. Especially after the last two tier 3 matchups that got stale at times when our opponents got demoralized.
Havent fought Sea of Sorrows since the shortened matchups near launch. And Im curious to see how Kaineng play coming all the way down from tier 8.
Edit: Oh fun fact, I believe Kaineng has been in last position for the longest place, while SoS has been at the top for the longest time. So, it’s pretty wild how both are now in the same matchup. :O
As for the Dolyak thing that happened today.
I think TC and FA should just make the Dolyak parade be this running gag between the the two servers, just to see what will happen every time it gets hosted. I’d love for applydaintys dolyak to turn into something like a Kenny from South Park. :P
And what did we learn today? FA are still kitten-bags. (And they still aren’t very good at the game)
What irony.
Is this what Tarnished Coast have turned into? /sarcasm
Gotta love the constant handful=did-it-therefore-the-entire-server-is-like-that attitude that goes on.
Elementalists, based on general presence in skirmishes and utility in the more niche roles:
On a moment to moment basis, there is no other profession that gets asked to do something specific compared to Eles (Mesmers used to dwarf it though before the pre-iZerker LOS nerf).
Why are ‘roamers’ complaining about Zergs? Play smart and to your numbers: Feed false information, poke doors and go, cut across open fields, keep track of camp flip activity, pick on Yaks and sentries selectively so that you dont reveal movements to us and avoid lingering in combat for long just so you can give yourself some satisfaction that you’re some good PvPer when trying to come out on top.
If you’re crashing into these ‘Mindless Zergs’, maybe you should ask yourself whether or not your roaming group has this exact ‘mindless’ mentality of such ‘Zergs’ you despise.

Oh and BTW, I was watching the stream of one of PROs Eles having Duels with some OG members behind the BL windmill. One of the OG members (Blonde haired Ranger) threw a fit after he lost a duel. It’s all on footage too.

If you are serious about WvW then Asura female small. If you arent then anything else is fine, even char.
The Racial Elite, Reaper of Grenth is actually quite effective for D/D Ele Zerg diving.
That said, I’ll go with the human as you need gear that you can actually see!
Hey Excala, fellow D/D Ele on Fort Aspenwood (though im a 20 Earth + Earth runes person).
I usually play in Oceanic prime time and being a nuisance there. But it was good to finally see you in action on the Weekend, and even fought along side you for a brief moment in front of overlook (until you went in up on the walls and being a headache to our enemies). :P
It’s fine as it is. Having it be placed as a ground target will be pretty OP. If there is one thing I want, though is for the spawn to be more consistent and reliable.
It outputs the most damage from all the phantasms by a longshot. (bar maybe iWarlock doing damage to targets with every condition on the enemy).
If you get good at using Into the Void and throwing baddies on top of the warden + iLeap for cripple, the other phantasms cannot really compare in terms of raw damage output
It does a Whirl Finisher that lets you put temporal curtain on it to clease conditions or add confusion stacks with an ethereal field of your choice
I often like to hide in it as it can absorb projectiles (or even better, reflect them)
To me, it’s the best Phantasm.
My immortal Mesmer build comprised of Runes of the Adventurer (before it was nerfed) and Mirror.
It was hilarously silly.
I’d probably dump using the Mesmer if they changed blink into a long CD just for a speed buff passive.
A Mantra of Swiftness would be nice really. It even compliments mantra builds in having to create space for a mantra recharge. And maybe people will actually use a mantra for once and learn the flow of using it in conjunction with weapon skills.
LOL, I just realised who the OP is. sounds rather familiar.
Sorry to hear that your PC is strugging with it, though and that WvW isnt all that appealing to you.
I’ll try list things exclusive to WvW:
Combat is more Kinetic than in PvE. You cant knock baddies in PvE off the edge of a cliff and to their death; but you cant do it in WvW. Kudos to that Dragonbrand Guardian from EA that Banished me off the bridge during my Churning Earth outside Durios the other day >_<.
The dynamic nature and the unpredictability of encounters can unfold in various and memorable ways. This is especially true in WvW due to the fact that you’re up against 2 opponents with their own agendas.
The profession skillset is fully utilized and with utility skills that seem alot more valuable in WvW/PvP situations compared to PvE. Eg. I can literally count on one hand how many PvE enemies actually strip boons off you; yet this is very common in WvW. I know a few people that actually have seperate builds/gear and playstyles for their profession in WvW.
Sense of community and the familiar faces on your server. No other part of the game has this, no LFG2M strangers or LFG any Bunker Ele that floods chat in LA or the mists. On my server, I will reliably see the same guilds, commanders and players in a given WvW zone. And this is, in turn leads to the sense of server loyalty and a means to fight for your server and the players around you that made the experience enjoyable.
There is tension to scouting and exploring provided if that is your thing. Unfortunately, since this experience is subjective from player to player, such tension encourages those that arent uncomfortable with it to zerg as a means to feel safe in the PvP zone.
Finally, one underestimated appeal of WvW: Guilds actually have purpose, throw other guilds in the opposition that do the same thing and you have drama that stems from actual gameplay. I, as well as many others here, just find the matchup rivalries, the beef, controversy, the tier rankings rather appealing to see unfold.

Superior Arrow Carts?
Okay, so it costs lotsa supply.
Which can be solved if the ‘Outmanned Buff’ wasnt so kitten and was actually a buff that is useful in WvW, instead of being an indicator that tells opponents a valuable means of information on a defending population
>_>
Instead of this odd siege idea in the OP (which just sounds like a modified Arrow cart), Solution!: Give outmanned buff sped up siege build time and +5 supply carry.
How does SoS keep getting all these transfers in even though their server is full? I really want to know the process so I can join a full world my friend is in.
Certain servers have organized ‘blackout’ sessions to allow for a ftansfer of guilds to get through at a certain time of the day.
I believe Sanctum of Rall had one some few hours ago.
But keep on trying at different times of the day. SoS is still the unofficial Australian server so it was still near peak time at the time of your post. Good luck, though. Hope you join your friends.
Only a WvW player will say that Confusion is a good condition.
Only a WvW player would think Dredge are any good.
LOL. This is very funny.
How are badges useless? They buy PVT gear which is highly sought after.
And siege of course.
Not useless. But I dont think people feel compelled to spend the rather scarce badges on blueprints and PVT gear that can be attained easier through other avenues. Unless the player exclusively plays WvW, of course.
Just needs alot more options to spend these badges on.
“I cant believe this one guy from [guild] did [shameful shenanigain] at [location], [server name] is such an awful and discraceful server compared to us”
>_>
How many WvW kills do you have? I’m at 6.5k kills and have made about 1.8k badges since I’ve been playing the game.
Sadface. The awkward realization that I am probably not picking up most of my loot as I have nowhere near as many badges.
Or that you Crystal Desert folks arent dropping badges at my feet :p
-
They should really take the badges of Jumping Honor out of the JP and replace it with gear drops. Then fold the ‘daily’ badges into a Daily WvW achievement system that gives a blueprint, badges and an instant repair canister to cover armour creep costs for participating in WvW.
One simple thing I’d like to see is a separate category for Daily/Monthly WvW achievements that give you badges, silver, blueprints (or even an instant repair canister) for completing them. 3 camps/3 yaks, 5-10 kills, 3 sentries and a tower/keep/castle take
It just gives a more reliable avenue to attain badges of jumping Honor from actually participating in WvW instead of just asking for a Mesmer port in the JP.
I’d even trade the ability to not be able to gather, do our kill varieties achievements etc. in WvW for such system. I’d even be happy if they kept the WvW loot the way as it was provided they implement such system.
The cute Quaggans are just there to make you feel terribly guilty when sacking objectives.
FA and CD needs to stop double teaming IoJ
IoJ and CD needs to stop double teaming FA
IoJ and FA needs to stop double teaming CD
Like, the reason why server X did bad that time was because the sever was the unofficial server of Christians that celebrate christmas, as with the unofficial server of college students that need to study.
Make it stahp
Oil: 50
So if we rush with 55 Alpha Siege Golems 5 of them will be unharmed. Awesome!
This is like one of those stories where some poor kid constantly got picked on by the schoolyard bully; and then that kid eventually grows up and gets his revenge.
Im having the problem too.
My question is: Why is there a loading screen on respawn anyway? It just doesnt feel seamless to the player, let alone enjoyable to watch through a streamer.
Illusionary berserker wasn’t nerfed lol, neither was the greatsword in general, same goes for the self shatter — those are your primary sources for enemy tagging.
I never run phantasm army builds, though, they bore me to tears unless I combo with them.
What is so odd about the complaints is that the most significant Mesmer nerf came in the form of the runes of the Adventurer being cut down to 50%; over the 100% that it was previously. I used to run it with deceptive evasion, couple it with the low-cooldown heals the Mesmer had, I found it stupendously overpowered in a shatter/dissipation build.
But then again the one and only Mesmer build on forums was teh PHANTASM ARMY!!11! Seeing how Anet noticed the above with the adventurer rune, they are one step ahead of everyone else.
The focus. :P
I’ve always used iWarden for its whirl, as I drop Chaos storm right on it.
Make illusionary Warden a ground target reticle.
Make Mind Stab into a Blast Finisher.
Change Echo into a short absorb for an entire duration, instead of one projectile.
Give the Prestige skill a toggle to reveal/blast/burn.
Combined with certain traits, the staff pulls ahead of the GS in terms of utility, damage potential and defense.
I used the Greatsword to carry me through earlier areas and events until dropping it for the staff after respeccing.
-
It just depends on you, really. The Greatsword has a faster clone spawn rate and spreads out clone positioning sparsely if you intend to optimize a good diversion shatter, for instance.
For dungeons, a staff is preferrable, for its vulnerability stacking potential and it has a combo field in its skillset.
The staff spams so many conditions with clones + the extra bounce to the point where party members will be greatful seeing all those boons on them and vulnerability stacks building up on mobs with a single action.
I really dont understand how the presence of feedback, time warp, null-field or illusion of life in the skillset deems the mesmer as having poor utility; heck that feedback rez trait works especially well with a blink and a distortion shatter for a safe revive in dangerous circumstances.
Mesmers Combo fields are some of the most spammable, too.
(edited by Basedgod.7328)
So greatful for the Mind Stab improvement, I always felt that they broke the flow of the weapon.
I still wish that Mind Stab skill was a blast finisher, though.
