There’s a much simpler fix: Just divide all rewards between the number of people who hit the target/captured the objective.

Suddenly you’ll see many small havoc groups rather than the current zerg karma trains, and people will actually want to move to low pop servers for the increased reward opportunities.

This is the solution I like the most too, also makes it so when bigger groups roll over a smaller ones the small group can actually scrounge out more wxp if they can take a few of the bigger group out first.

I highly doubt most people would, maybe the roamers on those servers but the people in the zerg ball will probably have tons left when and if season 2 rolls around.

I’m literally dying laughing at these rewards. 7 weeks of the winning servers chest-thumping about coverage and how skillful it is. 7 weeks of people hyping the S1 rewards when anyone who primarily WvWs knew that they were going to be incredibly disappointing, because everything reward-wise in WvW is incredibly disappointing.

I really hope that server stacking, queues, and PPT-fueled 7 weeks was worth it!

I cannot handle how hilarious this entire situation is.

This is pretty much exactly how I feel, I think my server came in dead last and yet now the 7 weeks of being obliterated are totally worth it. I got to run around in WvW for 7 weeks with no armour repairs and outmanned buff boosting my wxp gain, think I made more out of bonus wxp chests than people did with the season one reward chest.

After seeing the season one rewards… yes it was a huge success and I am completely serious. Everyone who dumped a ton of gems to stack servers got shafted and it made the butt ramming lower pop servers had to take for 7 weeks totally worth it. With all the crying Anet might just throw the stackers a bone though so we will see.

Unless they do some serious course corrections, there also won’t be a reason to play in season 2. As much as I love facing Fort Aspenwood every other week. Next time, I’ll just pass.

If the people who just played WvW for the rewards didn’t play season 2 I don’t see that as such a bad thing. That doly finisher better be really nice otherwise those gems could have been used to just buy a few of the good ones from the gem store. Turning those gems into gold… imagine how many more greens you could have bought!

I am glad the rewards are like this, I ended up benefiting more by staying on my under populated server and running around with outmanned 24/7. Being on a server with more people shouldn’t warrant better rewards

Meh all the servers that won spend most of their time zerg balling anyway and rarely stomp so those will last. I am glad the rewards blow so much, maybe people won’t stack servers if, god forbid, there is a second season.

YB why don’t you put another Superior Catapult on the edge of the cliff at Cliffiside… was it not fun taking a tumble down to the bottom? Sadly I have to work now but I see our 4 defenders forced you to start trebbing from garrison. It was fun while it lasted.

If “getting good” at wvw means pvding and spawn camping I am better off running the champ train in Frostgorge… better loot and I will use more braincells too. Throw in some dungeon paths and temple runs and you wont even notice the dragonite and emp shards you aren’t getting from flipping paper objectives!

Whether or not people think roaming is in the spirit of WvW its what lots of people enjoy and this is one match up where it has been hard to find many fights, although I am also playing at weird hours so there is that.

Hardly trolling I have been doing this every morning of this match up, I was posting in another thread about that had GoM in it and screwed up but the point stands. Today I am staying in ET’s borderland, lots of scrub thieves to wipe from both SF and YB. This is a pathetic match and the fights I have found roaming are even worse, its 90% thieves spamming heart seeker. Just had a fight against 2 thieves and a guardian from SF where both thieves just mashed 2, even with 2 blood stacks to my zero they all died because they are completely brainless.

I’ve just spent this match up flipping camps on SF or GoM borderlands, easy bags from the sheep who stray from the herd and the the rest of the zerg is too busy flipping keeps to care. Still a boring match up but with a birthday booster and outnumbered the wvw ranks are just flying in.

Haven’t played Kain in a long time and its hard to gauge how they are now looking at this current match up. If NSP stays in bronze they will likely win it, if they go up I see HoD winning it and wouldn’t be surprised if Kaineng was third or fourth. Truth is neither NSP or Kain belong in silver league but NSP would be more competitive then Kain.

I said that earlier but I was assured they lost huge amounts of their night crew and that is why they aren’t completely destroying GoM and AR. If anything I am sure NSP has been loaded with a bunch of fair weathers wanting to take first in bronze league who are now kittenting their pants and trying to drop back to bronze.

I don’t even blame anyone sand bagging, being the bottom of gold or silver league would suck kitten but people need to just own up to it already and stop saying they lost people.

That’s why I said I would love to see it.

In this match up do you think anyone is really bothering to sweep? What is the point.

A thief can’t perma stealth unless you let them. Its pretty easy to counter the perma stealth everyone cries about, stand in the blinding powder and the thief heart seekering back and forth through it will hit you and break stealth… don’t do this if you aren’t near full health though.

Even easier every class has some sort of ranged stun/daze/knock back/pull, save it for when they use blinding powder and prevent them stealthing. If you don’t bring the proper utilities or weapons to counter a d/p thief you can’t complain about them.

With leagues approaching I wanted to check out the current rankings and when I saw NSP’s match up I had to laugh again. NSP also seems to be putting in just enough effort to win the match and nothing else, ET had the same match last week and we were beating GoM and AR by about the same amount NSP is atm. Either GoM and AR are trying harder against worse odds than last week or NSP is trying not to get launched into silver league.

Well this is a stupid match up, just saw Yak’s Bend running around with about 5 Omegas and about 30 people in and otherwise empty SF bl. I’ve ran around solo for 2 hours now and only found like 3 people to fight. On the plus side I guess I can have 24/7 outnumered buff

I didnt make it out for reset but this match up looks like it will be balls. Guess I will go check it out now when most are hopefully sleeping.

I do find it hilarious Devon announced he would play on NSP as if it would be some hard fought battle during two league play then shortly after announces that there will be 3 leagues and NSP would be atop the third league. I would love it if they ended up in the bottom of silver league just so he could see the state of WvW for probably half the servers with these random match ups and soon to be league play.

FC we might have had our forum war last match up but for the good of everyone tank the match for the good of all.

The thing is the only ways they can really interfere with your game play is done out of the game with updates and new content etc. In game is it really so hard to kill one member of Anet staff, especially when everyone claims they have no skill? Even if a zerg of Anet employees came to roll on your GvG fights surely your superior skill would have no trouble wiping them right? That is why I don’t understand the whining, let the dude say what he wants to say, in game he can’t stop you from GvGing.

Some of you are such babies, there is no way I am reading 17 pages of people crying about this but from the several pages I have read I am sure that’s what most of this is. People are making a way bigger deal of this than they needed to, I asked earlier why they didn’t just kill the guy and continue on and apparently they did so why everyone is so kitten I don’t understand. Why didn’t you just have the other team spike him and continue on with your GvG, you guys whining about it is just as bad as him complaining.

Regardless of all the bickering good luck to FC and DR this week. To Narsil I don’t know about any of the fights you are talking about because I wasn’t there. For the record there are people on ET who did the same thing to members of FC, difference being we don’t call the whole server scrubs after doing so.

Its too bad only the trolls from FC post, I would be interested in seeing what some of the others had to say. As it is we only get the “pro” roamers who gank solos or small man pugs.

Except when Warlord tells us our server sucks because an outmanned group used ACs to defend a keep.

ET you need to quell your server attitude of this type of leader or you’re going to implode when faced against more stacked servers.

Haha are you serious we spent the last 4 or 5 weeks playing more stacked servers, if anything FC showed what happens when they face someone not in the bottom 3.

I think most of the people posting in this thread was trolling/forum warrioring for fun. Some people took it seriously. (I suggest you laugh and enjoy it.) It felt like the minority rather than the majority to me.

I’m not talking about hese forums… I never really take forum seriously… But when you get yourself called an Idiot on map chat, and people on TS get upset if you keep asking for help to defend/attack an objective, it’s clear that there is somenthing wrong.

People want supplies to get to SMC, but they don’t even bother in defending the supply camps or even taking the enemy mercenary camps (which can overrun the camp). But when you ask for help to clear those things, either you are ignored, or people tell you to shut up.

People want everyone to cooperate with their “master plan”, but not a single word is said about it… These people just want us to follow blindly their instructions because they know what’s good and what’s not.

I left Blackgate for the very same things that are getting me upset on ET now… Maybe it’s a sign to move on?

I know the situation you are talking about and it was only one person on map chat who was being a kitten when you asked for help with camps but I can still see why it bothers you. Also at that point in the match up our numbers were about half what they usually were at that time of night, lots of people knew we already won the match and stopped showing up, which is fine. It also meant there were less people running around in small groups or solo taking camps because we needed most of our forces in one spot to defend against FC or DR. Its not an excuse, we don’t need one but its a big reason we were having trouble with camps.

That was the only time this whole match up where I saw people bickering the rest of the match everyone was working really well together. There are 4 or 5 people I know who usually run around taking camps that were all off doing pve stuff last night because they knew we would win (which is fine but it was by no means a blow out and we could have used some more people last night). I hope you don’t leave because of one guy being an idiot and one night where there weren’t many people helping flip camps and mercs but if you need to do that to make the game fun again nobody would hold it against you, just don’t go to FC :P

Is there even one person from DR in their borderland? I just took all your camps and fergs stole all your keeps and it didn’t seem like they had resistance, at least at hills and garrison.

Its too bad FC doesn’t war as hard in WvW as they do in the forums, they might be putting up a better fight if they did.

I was with the group about 5 minutes before that fight and there was nowhere near 40. I would also say the majority of ET wvw players are in the TS believe it or not, people in their for the daily kills or running around for an hour don’t really bother but the rest are. The numbers people throw out in fights are always way off but the estimates I have seen this match up are terrible.

I saw at least two people rally of guard kills but that doesn’t really matter you guys won in the camp fair and square. I wasn’t in the fight yesterday at bay but I was in TS and what I do know is there was nowhere near 40 ET in that fight. FC is doing a really good job of counting ET players two or three times, we don’t even have that many mesmers around.

I was talking about guard killer and applied fortitude, I also mentioned how you were rallying off the guards. The only time fighting in a camp that you own helps is maybe if the guards are upgraded otherwise they just rally the enemy. You guys are very good but to act like ET has no skill is silly when you were wiped 5 minutes later.

You guys are very good and guess what ET has a lot of really good players too.

Its funny you guys brag about that when you are all running around with guard stacks and rallying off of camp guards. Both times you were engaged in open field you were wiped. Are you guys going to come to the forums everytime you kill a pug group in a 5 v 10?

^ yeah Ferg is like Sparta, we train our pugs good, as for ET being nay better, i think for a reason its always been in the bottom place, as for its current standing in the matchups, ET faced several bigger servers, the way the rating system works is even if you are a low rated server facing a server slots away, it lowers the rating of the higher server and boosts the lower server rating even if the lower server is barely holding on by a 100 ppt. So atm ET has gotten a boost from this, as for FC even if we have had 20k+ lead on GoM and DR and etc, it hasnt helped us because we are rated almost higher then AR and DR at this point. So we wont catch up to ET unless FC gets a matchup with NSp and SF while ET gets to play with AR and DR, then we can rank up a bit more to ET’s place.

You also won’t catch up to us when we are beating you by over 30k… maybe you forgot about that. None of this really matters with the leagues coming up soon though.

That’s the thing about the leagues though, they won’t break up communities like we have on ET whereas lots of the servers in the middle of the pack had lots of guilds abandoning ship. We might actually stand a decent chance at any of the servers other than the top 3 in the league because so many people bailed on those servers.

Its a bit funny because the original post on the recruitment forums about all the lower tier servers banding together was made by someone on FC saying everyone should go there. He claimed they were the strongest of the bottom tiers and had beat ET quite easily in all the previous matchups :P If that was really the plan and not just an attempt to boost FC numbers looks like you guys should be joining us

However, I wouldn’t expect anyone to leave their servers at this point. The people still left on the bottom tier servers have been through the worst and I don’t see anyone hopping ship now. I actually liked the idea of the lower tier servers banding together but personally would never leave ET and I am sure its the same for most on FC and DR.

If you guys are complaining about ET’s numbers you are in for a very rude awakening when leagues start and you face servers ranked above 20. FC was fortunate to get matched up with dying servers the last few matchups, we just had to bring you back down to earth.

Do most of you realise you would likely still end up in an overflow regardless of whether or not people were guesting on your servers? That is part of the price you pay for being on a stacked server. Most of the people in the main instances have been camped there for several hours to ensure they don’t lose their spots. You will only get in if you sneak in after a reset or camp there overnight.
