With mega servers the gauntlet up top is going to be a nightmare, I kind of hope we can get it in a separate solo instance or something. It was bad enough on the lowest population servers trying to find an open dome last time around. Watching someone fail at Liadri 30 times in a row can get a little annoying,
I kind of wish GW2 did what most MMOs do and change the stats from race to race. I know they didn’t want to create balance issues but in the end without the races having different stats they ended up causing a balancing issues with Asura.
In this game you can have all the advantages of being a midget without any of the side effects seen in most MMOs. In Dark Age of Camelot if you wanted to play as a tiny Lurikeen or Kobold you would have less health than someone playing a hulking Troll or Firbolg and it made sense.
It’s even more sad because even the title states that is is for out of combat swapping so people don’t read more than the first few words of a thread title before replying. I’ve finished 2/4 legendaries on my eng so luckily this isn’t as big of an issue as it used to be but before I had those my back pack would contain 3 or 4 different pistols, rifles or shields with different stats or sigils for use with different situations. Opening the bag and equipping weapons from there is tedious and with the new hero panel its almost worse because you might have to swap to your equipment tab too.
The feature the OP is asking for could be implemented with every class, butthink engis and eles are an easy start point as the ability to have two weapon sets is already implemented for 3/4 of the games classes, the just need to lock engi and eles second set to out of combat only which I am sure they can do. This could be the first step in build templates which allow you to change weapons, armour, skills and traits with simple button clicks instead of the current tedious method and that is something everyone would love.
Ferocity nerf didn’t effect sPvP where these runes are the biggest offender. It is really bad when pretty much every power build is using the same rune, I have seen a few people using ogre runes and a few very brave people using scholar runes but I have been in matches where 10/10 people were using Strength runes.
The runes are over budget and it is pretty obvious. They have a longer duration then all the other might runes (except Aristocracy which is a condi rune) AND they come with a free 7% damage bonus. Either bring the duration in line with other might runes or add another modifier required for the 7% like 10 or 15 stacks of might required for the bonus.
People will complain about anything to do with engi I guess. Even buffed up the turrets still die quite quickly when focussed and once they are gone that engi is a free kill. The only builds that might have trouble with them are melee only condi builds which are few and far between.
Also I have found no matter what build you run you will be called an annoying decapper if you are holding a rifle. Also if you are using any kits your build will eventually be called OP cheese. About the only thing I haven’t seen people complain about is the mortar elite and that is probably because nobody has used it since the first week of release when people were trying it out.
The issue isn’t about 2v1, which is an intentional side effect of 3 sides fighting each other. The issue lies with two servers cheating via win trading. I imagine Arena Net is keeping track of the cheaters, and will ban them en masse once the tournament is done. This would result in Black Gate becoming the dominant NA server again, though.
If you think Anet is going to ban two whole servers you are sadly mistaken, they dont even ban blatant hackers. If they want to avoid this in the third season they need to fix the tournament system. Better yet they could stop having seasons or at least tying the rewards into server placement. It might be nice to have one season where everybody doesnt transfer a week before the season starts.
Like someone stated above the big problem is that not every class has the ability to deal with boon stacking. If traited for it or using the right utilities necros, mesmers, guards and thieves can get some decent boon strips-steals-corrupts.
I think the 6th bonus needs to be tuned down a bit or add another requirement like 7% damage when under the effect of at least 10 stacks of might. As it is now even a class totally dedicated to stripping boons cannot stop someone from running around with at least a few stacks of might. Scholar runes are technically a higher dps rune than strength but nobody complains about them because you have a reasonable way to remove their 6th bonus.

I just saw this in your other thread, you are the last person who should complain about eles and engineers getting more skills, ie more buttons to push.
As for the thread topic, yes eles and engineers get access to less sigils but there isn’t really a way to give them the ability to use 4 sigils without making it a bit OP. It is already easier to use on swap sigils on eng and ele as we need to swap all the time to be effective anyway.
2 v 1 is working as intended, in fact it would be nice if more servers did 2 v 1 the winning server instead of just focussing each other fighting for second. As for win trading which is not really a 2 v 1 thing, that is more a product of seasons and is a different problem.
The EoTM k-train could be fixed very easily by tying the rewards into winning the 3 hour matches instead of flipping empty objectives. Of course you would need to still give people karma, exp and gold for flipping but lower the amount. Instead give some new reward (or more karma/exp/gold) based on your colour’s placement at the end of the match. There would probably be a lot less PvD if the ppt actually meant something.

If you are wondering why you guys got stomped so hard the reason is right there. If you aren’t willing to push an extra button to get more out of your class you aren’t really in a position to say if they are in a good place. What class is doing this to you other than maybe another engi? In both my PvP and WvW roaming build I run with no stability and half of the time no stun breaker and I win most of my 1 v 1’s. Stability won’t do anything for you against any necro with half a brain as he will corrupt your stability before chain fearing you anyway.
Again the only situation I see us needing more stability is in WvW group stuff where you can just party up with a guardian and be set. Other than heavies most classes have pretty bad access to stability, engis aren’t unique in that regard. I would welcome some better stun breakers though, it would open some trait points up for me.
It is funny the amount of 0/0/2/6/6 thieves that popped up after the EU ToL. I didn’t notice any other ToL builds get copied yet, the guardian bunker build was already popular and people were running celestial eles since the feature pack.

after the 6 month wait we got:
the removal of dye crafting, neutering our income.
the removal of armour crafting, removing our customization.
the removal of 8v8 hotjoin, not everyones favourite, but it was mine.
the removal of one of our few maps.
very few meta builds looked at, several meta builds buffed further (condi war)
a cap on progression for hotjoins FORCING casuals and newbies into tournaments.
There are still about 8 Anet hosted 8 v 8 servers, just create a custom filter for team size 8. Usually one or two of them have people in them but you might have to try a few times to get in as they are often full.
I also agree that they need to remove the cap on track progression, I haven’t played solo queue since the feature pack because it was filled with people who had no clue what to do or people afking. I am thinking lots of those people were just trying to get the Balthazar back piece so maybe it is better now.
They just need to make it so if someone moves to spectators they are locked out of the rest of that match unless they leave the server completely. If someone leaves the game because they are frustrated with a bad team that is fine, but when you have half of the losing team constantly forcing auto swap so they can be on the winning team it is pretty annoying.
Between protection injection and stabilized armour I almost welcome being stunned as your damage reduction sky rockets. Of course in a zerg situation in WvW those traits won’t keep you alive but in a zerg you will get stability from someone else anyway. I would much prefer some better condi removal over more stability.
Yeah if you transfer just before a reset it is pretty much only a one week ban from normal WvW. The EoTM k-train is okay in small doses but its not really my bag. Either way the one week ban will be worth it to be back on ET.
Every time you die with the outnumbered buff the loading screen should be the devs pointing and laughing at you. On the bright side there is a chance you are getting spawn camped if you are outnumbered and don’t even have to see the loading screen.
No stance in this game is a true stance because you can use multiple stances at one time. I know it has been mentioned in this thread already but stances really should over ride each other if you use two at the same time.
It would weaken the defy pain trait (I think that is what it is called) but warriors should be subject to the same problem as other classes with use ability x trait at x% health. Auto blinding powder gets thieves killed all the time (and you cant even avoid taking it if you want some of the good stealth traits) and auto elixir S also gets engineers killed sometimes if it triggers during a heal or when you are loaded with conditions.

I haven’t seen it but it is possible depending on the skill levels of the players involved. I have won 4 v 1s on both my thief and engineer and its more to do with the enemy being bad then me being good. If all players have an equal skill level and are using roaming builds no class should really win a 2 v 1 unless they hard counter the 2 in some way.
As nice as this sounds it likely won’t happen. With the removal of glory and the merging of PvE and sPvP gear sPvP players needed a way to earn PvE gear and that is why they received the reward tracks. In WvW we already get PvE rewards for kills and wxp rank ups.
I left ET after the second week of season 2 because I was frustrated, not with ET but with WvW as a whole. Being a night player the thing I miss about ET, and the reason I will be transferring back right away, is that you actually feel like you make a difference. I’ll be back soon to terrorize enemy camps and defend paper keeps from 30 people with half a party.

Yeah the buff is pretty useless and with repair costs being removed its even more of an insult when it pops. It’s a nice little boost if you are the only person in an enemy bl and you are flipping camps. If it pops in your home bl or eb its more of a warning you are about to get kittened.
To be honest I don’t see any harm about adding a small stat boost to the buff. If the odds are 3:1 for the buff to trigger 100 more to every stat isn’t going to turn the tides but it at least gives you the idea you stand a chance. Duelling has already been moved to OS so all the people complaining about not being able to have an even match for duels don’t need to worry about it.
Watching any game is pretty boring to be honest. The exceptions being story driven games where the gameplay doesn’t really matter and its more of a movie.
I like the idea of the new trait system although I already had every class at 80 so I only have to unlock 5 traits on each class. That being said they should really think about making the unlocks account bound being as it is the same feats required to unlock the traits on every class. Even just needing the 5 new traits on every class it is taking pretty long due to the mega server and the temples and events required always being completed. I could not imagine unlocking every trait on all classes as a player starting today, it would be a nightmare.
Here’s what people aren’t understanding. Revealed being added to meta skills means teams can stack or chain revealed on thieves/Mesmer to prevent them from ever using stealth . What’s the result? Stealth being a mechanic that isn’t viable. This is counter to the design of the thief, and some Mesmer skills/traits.
If you are talking about PvP teams are maximum 5 people and if you think teams are going to bring multiple engis or rangers with sic em to counter thief and mesmer stealth you are out of your mind.
This feature is already in the game and the fact people don’t know about it shows you just how “OP” it is.

Thieves have plenty of defense outside of stealth. In sPvP where the reveal timer is already 1 second longer many thieves don’t even use stealth and instead rely on the bevy of evade skills, blinds and teleports available to them. The condi engineers thieves complain about are not the ones who would take this skill anyway as it is a waste of a utility for them, it would be used by power based engineers that thieves likely 2 shot.
I am not biased against thieves, in fact I have more time played on thief. Before WvW ranks were combined I had about 350 ranks on my thief compared to about 250 on eng but I do have slightly more PvP games played on eng. I would just like to see more counter play to stealth in this game. With the current implementation of stealth I can escape or reset any fight I want to on my thief and I only die when I am to stubborn to just run away when the odds aren’t in my favour.

It does seem for the most part that even when fully invested into healing power is useless for the majority of the games heals, mind you I only skimmed through it. On the other hand regen really benefits so classes relying on that can make good use of it,
It’s a really cool idea. Since some seem concerned that one profession gets to be the sole owner of this feature, perhaps it would be fair to make the person in stealth visible for just a very brief moment? It’s already taking up an an entire utility slot.

This would give SD engis a chance against thieves though as they wouldn’t have to worry about the blind from black powder and could also keep the thief visible a bit longer to land some blows. Thieves SHOULD eat SD engis alive as long as they avoid the initial burst, this change would at least give the eng a chance.

After thinking about it since the introduction of reveal on sick em’ I have had it used on me exactly one time on my thief and all I had to do was shadow step out of range and wait a few seconds to stealth when the reveal ran out. Reveal in a 1 v 1 is extremely situational and only really useful if you have the thief beat and don’t want them getting away, it in no way would make engis any more “op” than they already are.I play both a thief and engi about equally as mains and I see no problem with giving engis and every class for that matter a skill that gives reveal status. There is a good chance taking these reveal utilities would be useless 90% of the time and therefore leave the class worse off then if they just took a better ability.
If any meta skill has an AoE revealed added, Shadow Refuge and Mass Invisibility goes away as useless skills. If lots of professions have targeted reveals added, glass thieves no longer exist and Decoy, Torch, and Mass Invisibility are removed from the Mesmer meta.
For all the complaints about thief and mesmer people must be overlooking that they are to GW2 conquest what Monk and Ritualistic are to GW1 GvG. They are the the squishy most crucial components of team comps.

If JQ and TC don’t want to mess with their scorings, it’s just not take the objectives (thus not affecting the ppt) and do some open field battles for fun.

And about being outmanned on Eternal Battleground… Friend, my server have outmanned buff on Eternal battleground (and in at least one other map) 24/7 in non-league weeks… Don’t come crying to me about that because you don’t know how bad it can get.

Yeah what you don’t realise is we aren’t blaming BG for our server’s current status. We are letting you know that your situation is not unique in the slightest and that there are servers who faced odds like this for the last year and have never flooded the forums with threads crying about WvW not being fair. In fact 2 to 1 odds in nothing compared to the 5 or even 10 to 1 man odds I have seen in some match ups in the bottom tiers.
I will admit I complained about free transfers but more about their poor implementation and lack of limits. If the bottom servers got no sympathy after free transfers left several servers all but empty expect no sympathy being on the server that buys guilds and placed 1st in gold last season.

This is why people dislike BG and to a lesser extent T1 in general. You act like T1 is the end all be all of WvW, but based on these forums I would say its more of a cesspool. WvW will be just fine if any of the servers on T1 implode, in fact I would say its better off. As much as I hate leagues if it causes any of the T1 servers to SoR it I will think of the season as a success.
The best season is to have no season.
No season was driving people away from WvW. People got bored with static matchups, or being blow out all the time (or blowing people out all the time).
Everytime the seasons come around, PvE players join in, and old WvW players come back and enjoy themselves for awhile.
Sure, nothing is gonna please everyone, but this season was 100% better than the 1st season. No other MMO is even attempting to have competitive 3 realm battles like GW2 is, let alone a competitive league system.
The PvE players come back for 2 weeks to get their achievements and leave that is hardly worth noting. They could make the actual WvW achievements realistic and you would see the same people joining and staying for longer.
Real fixes and changes or new maps for WvW would also bring a lot of old WvW players back and again probably longer than these leagues do.
Leagues introduced matchups that are even less dynamic than before, most servers will face the same match ups for the rest of the tournament with just one server swapping out.
Seasons are a way for Anet to make it look like they did something for WvW in between living stories.

You aren’t reading the forums enough, I see just as many Jade Coast posts antagonizing the BG forum trolls. If everyone would just stop trying to troll one another, maybe there could actually be a “fair” tournament.
People need to stop talking about a fair tournament, there will never be a fair tournament in GW2 unless WvW experiences drastic changes. All the BG crybabies are experiencing something people on the bottom tier servers experience all the time without even being 2v1’d, the difference being those servers didn’t bring it on themselves like BG did.
The mods should stop locking the threads and instead merge them so they dont flood the page. Sad thing is it would be the only thread people would post in.

I made a post the other day about runes triggering on the use of trap in the elite slot of Southsun Survial. It turns out runes and sigils work in any activity, or at least SS and Keg Brawl. It would be nice if something could get fixed with this so people stop accusing people of hacking when their sigils or runes trigger. I am pretty sure its the runes and sigils equip on your PvP build.
It wasn’t obvious at all. You can’t repeat a few components of legendary items on the same character, yet you can still sell the final product on the trading post.
There is a huge difference between something being achievable once per account and once per character. World completion for gifts of exploration can be repeated on an account as many times as you please as long as you have the character slots and willingness to do so.
Haha awesome, you don’t always win when you play the trading post. It seemed fairly obvious the back piece wasn’t supposed to be sold as the track couldn’t be repeated. It will be interesting to see if Anet reimburses people.
That is the total damage you have done not the damage per tick, all channelled skills are doing this is they are used consecutively. Mesmer GS auto and unload also do this at the moment.
As the title says the 6th bonus on runes are triggering in Southsun Survival when using the stealth trap in the elite slot. I am unsure if it is the runes you are using in your PvE or PvP armour but I would guess it is the PvP set. The biggest offender is the new Krait runes as they essentially kill anyone near when using the trap.
