It is pretty clear at this point that mesmers by design are the slowest out of combat profession in the game.
Focus + blink spam = faster or equal as fast (at least) as perma swiftness. I know this because I play a lot of wvw where everyone has permaswiftness, and my mesmer can keep up the pace with others (swiftness on them). So in fact necro’s are on same lvl, if not worse.
What?
Necros are one of the faster classes in this game. 25% speed signet, Spectral Walk 30 Seconds of Swiftness, Horn 4 Skill and two speed traits:
Quickening Thirst (+10% with main-hand dagger or +5% with offhand dagger)
Speed of Shadows (while in Death Shroud)Heck, they can even blink to their Flesh Worm minions at 1,200 if they really want to.
And even with all that they can`t escape from anyone. Maybe from Mesmers.
Another giant thread of folks who don’t realize that stealth isn’t what lets thieves escape, mobility is what lets thieves escape. Remove stealth entirely and most thieves will still get away because you’re slower than they are. I can already catch and kill stealthed thieves that are slower than I am, I am already unable to catch and kill unstealthed anyone who is faster than I am.
If you’re worried about the thief’s ability to disengage and escape, you’re blaming the entirely wrong mechanic.
Someone understands…
I don’t mind it being only 10% but I wouldn’t mind a 15-20% movement… It shouldn’t be as high as a thief though.
I also think 20% would be balanced on Signet of the Locust and Signet of Air, because Necros and Eles have more access to Swiftness.
10% is meaningless no matter how you look at it.
Even if all the Necro bugged traits and mechanics get fixed, it’d still be a bottom tier class.
Come 14/12/12, Rangers won’t be the most terrible class. You Necros will.
These kind of suggestions are meaningless because the Devs either think the classes are fine aside from very minor things, or they don’t have the ability to make them work the way they want.
Your suggestions are good, and I'd approve of them. But we'll be stuck with the kitten mechanics for a long, long time.
Necro is fine if you're a casual.
F2 – Attack target
F3 – Stay
That’s all it takes.
Why don’t Conjures work like the Engineer’s bundles?
Before playing an Ele I’d always thought they would.
Meh, i am starting to think that whoever claims so and so build works (be it vampirics, axe, or some other such claim) are better than average at kiting their opposition.
No. They’re casuals fighting casuals.
Oh yes we do. Some have reported success by going “all in” on vampirics.
This meaning siphon on crit, siphon on hit, siphon on wells, and as many vampiric sigils and runes as they can lay their hands on.
It is almost as if Anet is not aware of the kind of numbers direct damage can output.
So your telling me vampiric works? How about on a power build cause I wouldn’t use siphon on crit with low crit rate.
It doesn’t.
Does anyone else think Anet needs to look into vampirisim and the traits that follow making it a legitimate line that steals health viably?
At the rate things are going, never gonna happen.
Finally, it does not seem that there are plans for gear beyond this tier, so it’s not a treadmill.
Are you that naïve?
Found something interesting while exploring The Grove.
A generic female NPC with an unique face model.

It might resemble the 1st face on character creation, but it’s not the same.
Which is a shame, considering it looks better than everything on the character creation.
Burning stacks as duration, not as intensity.
If when the mob dies the burning is still ticking, it means it’s going to “waste”. As with all DoTs.
