Official response on the Lag issues please?

Why bother if my ISP is going to be blamed, again?
Zealots will come saying that it’s not bad programming, it’s a feature that adds depth to the class.
The class will keep being garbage as long as inept developers keep listening to forum zealots.
When playing Thief and a Necro pops Spectral Armor thinking it will do any good, I go out of my way to steal the delicious Protection.
How mantras should work:
-You charge it once (long, regular cast time)
-It provides only one use on initial cast
-The mantra doesn’t end when all charges are cast, only on death,
-You only gain one extra charge over time, relative to each mantra cooldown (Mantra of Pain gains charges faster, Stability takes 30~40 sec for a charge, etc.)
I guess I should also add, on the PvP side I often find myself at least in the top 3 every round so if people are interested in a playstyle video I would consider making one.
tPvP maybe…but it downright stomps in PvP
sPvP/8v8 clusterkittens hardly means anything, I’m afraid.
Must be our ISP’s fault, m i rite?
I’m pretty excited about it
lol come on
Seafarer’s Rest
Unplayable from 18:00 PST onward.

Same here. Can only imagine how much worse it will be during the weekend.
No official response in the horizon.
HEAVY LAG on Seafarer’s Rest.
GAME UNPLAYABLE from 18:00 to 22:00 PST, ALL WEEK.
Super Adventure Box, WvWvW, sPvP and every zone I’ve tried to play.
It WOULD be fine for Confusion as a whole to be nerfed if the Scepter and sPvP Confusion were also balanced along with it.
Lag since patch. Unplayable.
Seafarer’s Rest.
I seem to remember a dev commenting somewhere that they were working on the Mesmer speed issue, but I could have been hallucinating. Also, “working on” only lends the weakest hope for an actual fix.
Got some movement improvements coming for Mesmer also. Mostly more reliable swiftness.
Was a lie.
Signet of Inspiration got reverted to the old way it worked. Probably an internal joke by now.
I logged in after many attempts just to get stuck on the character screen and automatically sent back to the launcher.
No.
I bought it expecting ANet to provide a balanced, diverse and fun PvP environment.
I got none of those.
Guess which Signet will be “fixed” next patch.
How about the other 5 or 6 defective classes?
I won’t repeat what the guy above just said, I’ll just add that there’s stuff to be achieved by going solo in WvW besides just fun.
You can contribute by flipping camps, killing people lagging behind a zerg thus denying resources, etc.
I just can’t agree with this right now:
Honestly speaking, we’re actually one of the more blessed classes for 1v1 in WvW, where mobility (and mobility denial) is so important.
Some other classes seem, in my eyes, much better designed for escaping/chasing.
(edited by Bellocchi.4593)
I feel bad for this game.
It was probably something on the top of Anet’s priority-things-to-fix list.
2) Learn and adapt. Trapper weren’t discovered until recently even though they haven’t been touched since beta.
Lol what?!?
I was surprised to, I started playing at head start and full carrion trapper was my first build. Thought it was kinda obvious.
He meant to say you’re the only one who thinks that, kid.
GW2 Dev team is struggling, and it’s sad to see.
Ascended gear speaks a lot about the direction GW2 Devs want the game to go.
E-sport and class balance seem to be some of the team’s internal jokes.
8vs8 sPvP clearly is the best indicator of a class’ potential.
My RANGER is in the top percentage of all RANGER!
Well, gotta go show some other people how great my RANGER is!
See ya!
Necros work in tPvP because they can have someone peeling for them 24/7.
There’s almost a consensus at this point.
Considering all aspects of gameplay (PvE, sPvP, tPvP and WvW), and the amount of “viable” builds for each, the classes that most struggle to do anything significant are – in no particular order:
Elementalist
Engineer
Necromancer
Ranger
Just to head from Anet “Someone is looking into it” would be a nice change.
From: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/info/news/Game-Update-Notes-December-14-2012/first#post999247
“Necro
The necro boasts the highest natural health of all the caster classes, and also has death shroud to extend that life total even higher. While they don’t have some of the escape or damage reduction capabilities that other classes boast, they do have a lot of ways to win attrition fights. They have access to poison on multiple weapons, they are able to combine condition damage with raw damage, and they have multiple disables to interrupt enemy skills. Necomancers also have multiple movement disabling abilities, while allows them to chase down enemies who are low on health.”
“Multiple disables to interrupt enemy skills”, the 1sec Fear on a 20 sec cooldown?
Can’t chase anyone because the “multiple movement disabling abilities” are too easily countered.
Doesn’t that make the whole “attrition class” redundant?
This thread is meant for PvP.
PvE heroes need not apply.
Necromancers in GW2 don’t come even close to the design concept the developers had in mind.
very awesome life siphoning that saves your life all the time
That is a huge exaggeration.
There are threads showing the actual numbers our life siphoning skills can achieve, and it’s very mediocre.
Edit: I’m talking all forms of PvP here. Anything works for PvE, hence I don’t care.
I support this thread.
For the OP’s idea to work, however, Life Force generating abilities would have to be revised and adjusted so we don’t get LF starved all the time.
Bone Minions would be a staple for F2. That blast finisher is way too useful.
It could be given a longer cooldown to balance the usefulness.
Good video, great player. Not afraid to include footage of loses and no overediting.
I like it a lot.
The class weaknesses really show when you get caught be a zerg or someone you’re fighting just decides to run away.
How do you personally deal with not being able to chase and disengage?
I find that these are kind of significant in WvW.
That signet is a waste of a skill slot. Sure, it’s nice for travel. But as soon as something agros on you, it’s gone. It’s useless in WvW during battle. Waste of slot. Their way of ‘buffing’ it, made it junk. Good luck on being efficient and switching it out prior to a fight. And if you end up having to run from a battle, forget it.
Not sure where you’re getting this, but that signet keeps working even while in combat. Everyone slows down significantly in combat. The extra speed you get from that signet can very easily make the difference between kiting and being kited.
This was the link provided:
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Movement_speed
It seems across the board.
Regardless, mine slows down pretty drastically if I agro a mob.
Out of combat movement speed WITH Locust: 300 + (25*300)/100 = 375 u/s
In combat movement speed WITH Locust: 210 + (25*210)/100 = 262,5 u/s
It “slows down” because getting in combat slows your movement speed regardless of buffs.
Signet of the Locust remains a 25% speed buff.
Catching noob elementalists? Easy. Catching a d/d ele of equal skill? technically impossible.
/thread
AFAIK best bunker builds belong to Guardians, Eles and Engies.
Necros can’t come close to the Ele’s survivability in the current meta.
Signet of the Locust can’t be “combined” with Quickening Thirst.
So, what happened after the patch? Do melee pets really hit moving targets now?
No.
It’s been used that way (“gap maker”) because of the lack of other/better abilities to fill that role.
[…] I had a hard take making an attrition build that could be as effective as a P/D Thief or a DD hybrid Ele.
You’ll be having hardships for a long time to come, I’m sorry to say.
6) Ignore the idiots whining and making flame bait posts and appreciate what we have as a class.
I like the underwater buffs, as fighting underwater in general is a humongous pain in the kitten Locust and gluttony buffs are also very nice. Makes it easier for my axe build to get over 50% meter so that I can get the damage buff.
Yeah, I’m a bit frustrated that Necros need a bit more, but Anet is sincerely trying to find ways of helping the class out without making them OP. I prefer the bit by bit approach they’ve been taking rather than just throwing a bunch of crap out at once and then causing all hell to break lose. The majority of the people complaining are probably just the typical whiny children that want everything to be fixed ASAP and anything less makes them feel inadequate.
I mean, last night fractals I was hitting 4k Ghastly Claws in my axe build. Sure, I’m still improving my gear, but that damage, combined with the Gluttony buff, means that I had no shortage of meter. All those speed buffs is also only going to mean good things when I start working on my vampiric dagger build.
TL;DR: Shut the kitten up and stop whining like children just because you’re not the OP flavor of the month. Trust me, it’s not as fun as you may think.
Go back to your Fractals, PvE hero, we’re discussion serious things in here.
Class balance needs different approaches in PvP and PvE.
In a thread, when discussing certain skills and mechanics for each particular class, it’s difficult to figure out if someone is talking about PvP or PvE.
It’s even harder to suggest changes and balance because these different parts of the game require different perspectives which the forum doesn’t offer.
Answer #4 can also be read as “I love this class and I am a PvE carebear”.
JonPeters, please respond.
We should ask for a refund.
I’m not being sarcastic.
