But even a power buid MM is viable, thoughts?
Nnnno… it is not. Altho you know what? The thing about GW2 is that you should play what you think is best for you. If you like playing with minions, you can. Just hold a full exotic gear for it and you will be fine. If you want to go to higher fractals or raids tho… it won’t cut it. Personally I went Berserker Reaper since it’s suited for both Fractals and Raids. Viper is somewhat better for raids but it’s garbage everywhere else since there is no way to keep your Jagged Horrors alive without healing. But it IS kind of a Minion build so you might like it.
good warriors don’t use meta battle. Bad ones should just go play rev. Warrior is too hard to play right now for people that need to copy builds. Thats honestly how I feel about it. Seriously and it’s not to be mean.
Wow really? I might’ve skipped something but there is no rule in the game that says you shoud be either good or “pro”. What is wrong with better players sharing knowledge with others? Anyone that is motivated enough to post a silly comment like this could use that energy to do something good instead. I fully concur with the OP.
“Either your good and know how to play or you are bad and should go play rev”.
Read that sentance and think about how absurd it is. That’s like the most ignorant thing. I don’t main a warrior, but I enjoy playing one very much. I also think Revenant is boring as hell (personal opinion). I don’t plan on doing legend with it, but having a few viable build choices is better than having nothing. It’s not a matter mindlessly copy/pasting a build. It’s about learning and understanding what might be good and bending it to suit your style. If it’s really THAT terrible as some of you post in your abominable comments, then having a sub-par build will make things even worse for someone that is “not-as-pro” as you guys.

I dont care about metabattle. I want an explanation, why do ppl use mercs over wanderers. The damage output difference is absurd. Defense wise the 100% weakness u get from the enfeeble trait easily outdoes the extra 4000 hp when u get trained.
You don’t care about meta yet you ask why people run something in it. We can’t help it if you don’t like the provided answer.
Apart from the Corruptionmancer build, Mercenary is way better. The ONLY reason for people to use Wanderer is to go Curses. Other than that Mercenary is better in almost every way. People often go Spite instead of Curses for Boon Corruption and Might and Vulnerability stacking. Also, more Vit = more HP = more Life Force = more Survivability. Plus, why would someone want bare Precision without Power or passives to support it? Makes no sense. Also Wanderer does not really provide more pressure. The numbers or the skills are higher cause the duration is higher. But if something ticks for, let’s say, 1000 damage it will still tick for the exact same amount. It will just last longer (and Nightmare rune is pretty much enough for condi duration). The “damage output” or pressure are neither better or absurd just ’cause the numbers on the skills are higher.
Wanderer is fine in a proper build that supports it, but in most of the other builds Mercenary is beyond better. If anyone would want an alternative for Mercenary it would be Carrion, not Wanderer.

The Corruptionmancer sPvP build uses Wanderer over Mercenary due to “Barbed Precision” and “Target the Weak” in the Curses line. It is one of the two/three top sPvP builds right now (aside from Signet and Shoutmancer). You will easly find it on MetaBattle.
Why would you use dagger instead of scepter though? Even more so when you have 1500+ condi damage and only 1700ish power. It just doesn’t make sense to me.
You are… 100% correct. This is actually my bad. I was doing the Soldier build first and then edited into the hybrid one. Forgot to change the dagger for a scepter. Thanks for noticing. It’s fixed now.
As for the Plague Signet. This build is supposed to be for small-scale WvW roaming. 1v1s, 3v3s etc. If I ever join a blob/zerg (and most of the time I don’t) I go as a full-dps Berserker Well Bomber.
Still. My question stands. Can Soldier be viable in WvW small-scale roaming.? In sPvP it does not exist anymore. I do think it was a more than decent build pre-patch (but not in the exact version that was on MetaBattle). The WvW version has A LOT more survivability than the WvW Signet Chiller. It hits nice too (tho I might check both builds with a dps meter first).
Thing is at this particular moment, I can afford to go only one way (my laurels and crafting materials are limited). Thats why I’m asking more experienced players than me
.
Cheers.
Note: I didn’t click the link, I just remember the strength soldier build on metabattle.
Then please do click the links. Why would you not check them before posting anything in the first place? The build I posted is not exactly the same (I pretty much detest Axe). I just used the name cause it bare a lot of similarities (you got to name a build somehow
). I’m also not one to mindlessly copy/paste a build. I like to give it my own spin and try to understand what might be good. Plus, the question is about WvW, not sPvP. Two different worlds imo.
I might be horribly wrong about all this tho, that’s why I’m asking. Is it even worth trying Soldier or should I just go Hybrid like most. Buying/crafting WvW gear is not as simple as clicking a different amulet on sPvP in mater of 2 seconds. One needs to choose a direction.
Hi all. Ok, so here’s the thing. A came back after 3 years of absence. A lot of things changed and I’m trying to wrap my head around them.
I need an idea for a WvW Roaming Reaper build. Everyone tells me to go either full condi or hybrid. Thing is, I dislike full condi so it’s a 100% “no”. Hybrid sounds fine, I play hybrid in sPvP and it works nicely. At first I was thinking about something like that:
But then it struck me… How about the pre-patch Strength Soidler build from sPvP?

(I’m still on the fence between Chilling Victory vs. Decimate Defenses)
I remember this build doing really fine for me. The survivability looks great, it should hit pretty hard (especially with food and sharp stone). Can it be viable or shoud I just join the long list of hybrid chillmancers?
Thanks in advance.

[EDIT] Fixed the weapon on Hybrid build.

I think it should be possible to get it on an Overflow, but in this area it rarely pops.
Just checked after the soft-reset at 2 AM. It does not spawn on it. You probably need a hard-reset when the servers go down.
Come on ANet :(.
Has anyone even stopped to think that maybe some of the SPs aren’t bugs, if the NPC is not present except after a reset. Maybe it was made that way, hence not broken, no need to fix it, getting 100% WORLD completion does give you something that is a requirement for legendaries, and why would that make it that easy for WORLD completion. Personally I don’t think it’s bugged, I think it’s working as intended, if you aren’t in the lucky group that gets it right after a reset, well guess you’re going to have to wait until next reset.
You should stop thinking then. It’s definitely not your forte.
Still bugged on Gandara EU. Over a week now.
Killua.8041 => You can’t knock down something that is not there.
I’m just gonna bump this till it’s fixed. It’s still bugged on Gandara EU (and there’s no way you can spot it after a reset ‘cause there’s like 5 to 10 people always there, either waiting for a miracle or wodnering where the hell is it :P).
All other bugged SPs were fixed like in less than 24 hours. Why is this one different?
Yup, Gandara EU still bugged. No SP NPC. Same as yesterday.
