So I finally made it to legendary this season and I wanted to put a brief video on how I felt about the season. I wanted this video to be very natural and just talk about the things that were on my mind as I was climbing. Lately PvP has had a lot of salt because of match-making and teams comps. But personally I believe if everybody checks themselves at the door we can have a more solid season and seasons to come. I hope this video reaches out to the newer players that are thinking of leaving the game and re-think of competing with new classes or builds! Please enjoy and keep the salt to a minimum!

Lol…..so what I learned from this video was to tank my mmr so I can get carried by kratos and kralle and other esl/tournament/proleague players…….good thing you got 2 solid guys on your team. It’s ridiculous how low the skill level has gotten. And btw doesn’t matter what your division is on any season, divisions don’t meant anything. There is a reason you see solid pro esl players still in Sapphire this season…..it’s cuz they don’t que at 3 in the morning, they have to carry scrubs in solo que, and they don’t grind 3000 games.

I’m running solo in PvP and currently in T3 Diamond. I really don’t mind people calling me bad it is ok. I understand I haven’t won any tournaments or really done anything special in GW2 for people to honor me. Even if I did it wouldn’t matter I only play the game because i enjoy it.

My question is…If I am atrociously low skill lvl REV than why are half the people in here below Ruby or stuck in Ruby?….

I’m not doing anything special…I am just hitting que and playing vs w/e I get. Today I couldn’t even play because my ques where 45min. Why do some people that have even lower accomplishments than myself feel the need to constantly prove themselves on a video that was only meant for motivation.

I wanted to not only touch the people that play GW2 PvP, but also influence the people that are outside of that community. I wanted to do more than show an awesome come back. I feel like I have the power to touch a bigger audience than the average guy, and as I touch those people I want to make a difference. To a person that might watch this and ask “How can you difference? Recently since the new patch I’ve been getting asked this question very frequently. “Sword/Axe Rev good to use in PvP and WvW?” Personally, I love AXE off hand. It has great CC with awesome mobility. It can be used to target other players and escape or put damage on players that wouldn’t expect it from range. Also, it guarantees sword #3 to hit almost every time in combo. The question is, Are you ok with losing all the healing shield gives you to be more of a thief? Or do you want to be stationary and take more damage? Personally, I roam with Sword/Axe & Shield all the time so I love both. It all depends on the fights I am going to get into and or the scenario. With Axe you have to be a lot more defensive when playing it. In this video I could have gotten more kills in some scenerios. But without the shield to help me reset some fights I had no choice but to run away and try again. Don’t be afraid to test it out yourself. It is fun and I think it works very well. The link below will take you to a 10min fight with me using Sword/Axe for a PvP match vs heavy condi pressure on a close 5v5 match. Good ultilities and Weapons skill?

You have been playing Focus for too long. Magnetic Wave, the most loaded skill in the game, or it used to be. Do that same build on staff; you’ll notice how Ele is not this High burst class with Weapons to stay alive. Casting 45 seconds cooldown Healing Rain for 1.5 seconds is painful.

Every class in this game has strong weapon sets and weak weapon sets…Ele staff is not super strong but at the same time it is one of the weapons in the game that supports the team very well…45sec cooldown in my opinion isnt that bad of a cool-down considering it covers double the size of most AOE effects of any class and supports many allies.

Also why would you use this same build with Staff?….Staff is more gameplay/zerg….This game isnt all about PvP…It is also about PvE/WvW and staff is VERY useful in those scenarios…

most ele don´t want to be a healbot or druid …. While i like it to offer support to my teammate, i want a flexible class where i can build/play counters and surprise oponents. I like to do preasure to a target and handicap it so i support my teammate that is under fire. And of course i don´t like to be oneshoted or killed in five seconds by a daredevil :-).

To be fair Ele is not the only class that can be one shotted by them..,Also Ele can one shot them back also…So there it will depend on the better player…Both classes take good amount of skill to run…But yes Ele does the tougher fight.

I have people watching the fights I get into 7 days a week 7 hours a night. As somebody in this thread could have very possibly quit the game and is just talking out their kitten . I never said I was too busy too talk or argue with anybody…Matter of fact if anything I have been replying to almost every comment. But some of these comments are so ridiculous it just a LoL and move on. I’m not going to please everybody and I’m not gonna win a 1vs5 vs PRO league players…I know thats the only way to impress some people but it probably wont happen….

So since the patch dropped on July 26th, I can definitely feel the nerf on most classes when it comes to staying alive for a long time. With the small nerfs our class got I feel like we are very much a power house when it comes to damage and mobility. I would really love for this REV hate to stop and the miss information of our class to be said correctly. Rev’s are a heavy class that deals massive damage and has mobility of a thief. That being said if you are new to this game and are being told otherwise please close your ears and “YELL LEROY!” until they stop talking. It is a fun class and very rewarding once learned and played right. Win or lose Revs are fun and very different from any class in any game you have played. ANET has done a good job with it, they just need to finish it and make these bug fixes go away. By any means it is not the perfect class, but if you’re looking for a heavy that has mobility and damage this is what I recommend. Enjoy!

People writing in ele forum usualy main ele´s and i did´t find someone being sad about cleric supportbunker nerved … I nearly exlusivly play ele since a year. And i prefer hybrid builds with no or low healign power and no water. Sounds stupid but work (ed) for me. I know that wash the pain away was a skill to carry others even without healing power and thus won me teamfights while wearing offensive stats. Not better as other classes skills in 1:1 but powerful if you are not alone.
I still hope to some buffs in fire and arcane traitlines.

Buffs are always welcome to any class just hopefully they are minor. I would hate to see the Ele turn back to a heal-bot or even worse.. “Shameful staff Druid.”

If you guys ever played WoW, they have a similar build there also. It is called Arcane Mage…Arcane mages also suffer by dying very fast but nobody in that community complains about it because it also kills very fast. Pretty much common sense.

You need to read behind the lines.
Most of the comments here are caused by frustration simply because other professions can cover this same role ( high burst ) more easily and reliably as they have naturally more sustain in general.

The gross imbalance between professions here is what cause this frustration, therefore any attempt at build crafting will be met with snarky remarks..and for good reasons, at the very least don’t take it personally

Mesmer=High burst, very squishy, Good utilities/Weapons to stay alive, Clone’s to help it hide in and get away.

Necro=High Damage/Dots, Slow Caster, Bad Mobility, can take damage, Pets support.

If you look at all three classes they are all strong and weak at the same time. I don’t think Ele needs to be made easier to damage…If anything it is easy enough. People need to learn on where to place themselves before they start their burst/CC…

Also if you are met with classes on the other team that can out heal/sustain you well it is not your fault. It is a team effort and in your role of dps you can sometimes only do as much as the game allows you too.

In every MMO it is the same. A good damage dealer can only do as good as the healing on his party that keeps him alive…It is the same thing in GW2…Of course it’s not as direct as traditional but it is the same concept. If you have 2 Druids that do nothing but rez and stealth the dead…Well what can you do? Overload/CC and burst if your team doesn’t do the same they will of course out sustain and kill you.

Making the Ele class easier would put us right back to making GW2 to much of an easy game to play. The amount of challenge one class can bring should be met with excitement of learning it and maining it. Not kittening about it and saying well “John” can dps easier on DRUID. People that main Ele will bring the class pride figure it out and exell at it. To the rest of the lazy people that want to roll the flavor of the month because they play GW2 like a MOBA are going to have a hard time with it.

This is a good thing they did and I hope this happens across the board for all class “especially DRUID”…Like I always say, “Having class leaders and mains is what will bring this game back.” When people are able to log off one class and learn a simple 1,2 rotations to AFK to legend, well it is a problem and this is why the DEVs took that away.

Been playing this recently as well (I switch in LF and Glyph Heal) since last week. It’s extremely fun though you die when someone sneezes at you.

I think this would be completely viable with a few buffs here and there especially to Arcane Shield/Earth shield (I wish earth shield was instant) and some more active defenses.

For WvW, I find it extremely meh though. T1 roaming is nothing but condi cancer or p/p thief.

Small gangs bro for sure, I myself will be taking it to 1vs1 roaming though just for the hell of it…But for any serious groups small gangs for sure

Yeah I have been using the same amulet too, vitality from marauder is meaningless when everything kills you so fast.

I admire your skills, but the build, however, dies immediately to any form of condi pressure. You simply can not put up a fight against them – you have 0 cleanse.

Reason why I find it hard to ditch water and cantrips, but it is a palliative measure due to the abudance of condis in some classes.

It is a good 2v2 build with a good support, no doubt, but by itself it has many issues as you lack a good form of hard mitigation.

Yea condi dies very fast…One thing about condi players is they are very slow at casting so keeeping them blinded isnt too hard…This does not include the mesmer…1vs1 i would NOT recommend this build EVER….Well i guess it works vs physical players..But i deff would use it in small gangs and arenas where u have support.

Hey guys! So I jumped on Elementalist myself after 2 years of not playing on it and wanted to see if I could put a build together that I enjoyed. Of course my girlfriend kind of asked me to also. Anyways what I found was a very fun refreshing build that has CRAZY high damage and nice control to keep the pressure off.

By no means do I claim this build will fit in every-bodies play-style but if you like huge damage with huge killing reward you got to try it out!

The first part of the video shows ranked game-play of how it is played and the second part shows the trait lines and combos on how it works. I hope this build helps those players like myself that crave on HIGH damage zerk builds! Enjoy and let the GW2 community thrive again with build diversity!

What is the point? Showing off? Has to be able to accept some criticism if he wants to show off, the point we’re making is simply that more damage doesn’t equal good play. Tbh I find it hard to believe that any sPvP focused rev player has never reached 1 mill dmg so the vid is kinda pointless for that. Gw2 isn’t like a wow battleground where stats is king, it’s all about play.

Fact is a player with 1/5 of that dmg is potentially more useful if he actually gets the kills, the caps/decaps and the distraction. Saluting this as an accomplishment sends the wrong message when it is exactly the opposite of that.

Tbh hes kind of right. You wont have tons of damage if you nuke people in seconds, but when you fight them forever your damage in log rises but.. you dont bring many kills. A lot of us had over 1 mil damage in S1 bunker meta and how often people were dying? Think about it. If you played moba you would understand it.

There are people who fight on lane whole time rising their damage dealt over time and then theres also this guy who comes in, 100-0 you and goes off and happen to have less damage at the end of a game than people who been fighting whole time with no kills.

Look at my picture. Vulcan has 30k damage who happen to almost double me in damage (im Ratatoskr) yet he has just one kill. Thats cause he was poking people whole game but coulndt kill them on his own while i have been deleting them, waiting for proper time to nuke them down. Who had more of an impact in this game? Me.

You completely fail to understand the point at all. You want to actually kill people in sPvP, shocker I know. You want to have that +1 boost as much as possible. When you end up with these damage numbers you obviously spent lots of time attacking people but not actually killing them. You let them kite, you let them heal, you fail at locking them down. Essentially you are a giant time waster. This is why 1 mill damage is bad.

Ever since the patch, if I’m activating facets they sometimes go off immediately after tapping the key to turn them on. I think maybe this has to do with the change that makes it so holding a key keeps attacking.

For example, when switching to Glint I’ll hit my 6 key once to turn on Facet of Darkness and it immediately activates Gaze of Darkness. This is extremely frustrating during raid encounters.

Has anyone else noticed this and does anyone have suggestions for how to avoid it?

From what I’ve been reading on the various forums no classes are good anymore compared to how they used to be.

I haven’t looked at them all but this includes thief, ele, necro, guardian, warrior, revenant, and engineer.

I think all classes will be good just will take more skill to play them. I hope anet stays on this coarse

Hey guys this video update on REV is based on power and using sword/shield/staff. I wanted to clarify my opinion on REV and how the changes will effect us. Like I said in the video, REV damage is still REALLY good and with our evades we are STILL a force in PvP/WvW. Enjoy the class and hopefully they continue fixing the bugs that sometimes kills us. So I wanted to put a simple Rev guide with build and a decent explanation to the traits. I feel like this video could have been better but unfortunately time is an issue this week. Please try to watch all 13min of this video. I know it isn’t the most exiting video when it comes to visual effects but it answers most of the questions that my mailbox is filled with. Please note this video was only made because the community I attend too kept asking the same questions. I understand somebody who mains and has been playing REV might not enjoy this video so much. Once the patch drops I will make a new video that will be more advanced and more helpful to people who want to take it a little further. All night it was zerg after zerg on Yaks. I saw these guys and started to walk away. As I turned my back I asked myself would Rocky Balboa do this. At that time that’s when I realized I needed some lifting. I put on some old school Rocky and let it rip. This fight could have gone a lot better but I was so hyped I wanted to put my foot through my monitor lol! I hope you guys enjoy this clip. This is the reason I still play GW2 and roam solo. 11 years ago I rode my bike to the store and picked up a copy of Guild Wars: Prophecies. I was 16 at the time and it was one of my first MMO’s ever. I remember how easy it was for me to fall in love with this game, as I did this first starter area over and over. So week number two is complete of me playing REV and I have learned so much more. The combo mistakes that I was making the first week really seem to be gone. Of coarse there is still a lot to learn! In the past 2 weeks or so we have been seeing a lot of new faces also that are trying to learn REV, I hope this video helps some of ya out. What is click bait about his title? There is nothing that says “OMG IM SO GOOD CLICK MY LINK AND WATCH ME PLAY IM BETTER THAN YOU” It’s simply telling exactly what is in the video.

And yes, he is pretty funny, but he does fight some competent players. He is a very competent player himself, one fight in the vid he fights 4+ people and survives very well. Not only is he entertaining to watch, he tells you exactly what he is doing so you may try to gather what you can from the video and apply it to your gameplay to be a better player.

You speak as if there is something new in that video. Neither he represents a new build, nor there is something of interest in the way he plays. Just rotating inluvnerabilities with blocks like always. Also he did die in that 4v1 fight after all despite them being a PvE scrubs downstating from two successful hits (probably running rare gear too or worse). Now don’t get me wrong, I don’t believe he is not doing a great job with those videos but for me personally most of those streamers are garbage since I can learn these basics on my own.

As for being useful, I am not a do-gooder, I did enough for communities in other MMOs, time to slack off a bit and only care for people I like and play with.

I wonder what YouTube would be like if everybody thought like you. I bet if I go through your history in the past 5 years on YouTube videos you watched I’d find some game-play videos scrubs like me have made.

So my first week playing Rev has past and I am really enjoying it. I made the switch from Zerk Ranger and it has been great. I am running Zerk Rev also for WvW and PvP and the damage is insane. I am still tweaking stuff out but the class itself might be the fit for me. Until they rework projectiles that is. In this video I put in a couple of 1vs1 that our viewers requested that give Revs a fight. Enjoy and I hope it helps other upcoming Revs.!

Also my keys are spread different on my mouse so when I say ability number 7 it is ability number 6 for the UI.

Yea bro I agree with mostly what you said. But still tough when you are fighting multi scrapper. 1vs1 they are beatable but not in pvp when they are 2 scrapper and 1 ele. Almost impossible. Thats when you have to our rotate them
