well I am full vitality and split between toughness and healing.
i survive well and heal decent but i couldnt kill a “torcan”
ive been playing pvp mmos for 21 years now and we often have forums in EVERY game with people saying “X is overpowered” and then the players of X say “its not overpowered… use SKILL to counter us!!”
i have one simple way to tell in EVERY game what class is the most out of balance
if you look around in the majority of your scenario/warfront/batleground and everyone is the same class and spec… THATS the class thats out of balance.
I know the next 40 replies will be people saying “NO WAY d00d, I was in a wf today and we had 17 engies and 14 elementalist and i was the only warrior!!!!!” but lets be honest, this is not accurate.
and when you see warriors we are all the same spec I dont even see hammer warriors for the knockdown with greatsword…. no your all Shield for the gap closer, knock down, frenzy root hundred blades.
the first video went up and the copy cat syndrome has followed.
saying greatsword is the only viable spec, is like saying Chris Bosh is “just ok” basketball player…. every night he is next to lebron james, the most overpowered basketball player in nba history so in comparison he looks like a scrub. but put him on his own team and he would look quite powerful.
Satying the rifle is weak is like saying Dwayne wade is just an ok player… he is sitting next to lebron james the most overpowered player in nba history so obviously he just looks “OK” but put wade on the GOLDEN STATE WARRIORS and he will look like a hall of famer.
I use rifle almost exclusively in spvp. i also thought it was weak at first, but then with a tweak or two here and there I noticed i droped more people with my warrior than I did with my burn guardian, condition necro or my crit+healing elementalist.
its not even close… when i want kills i play my warrior.
my best was 14 drops in a game i counted, and 18 total kill credits.
no i couldnt win a 1v1 if my life depended on it.
but think abou twhat you need to be a damage dealing ranged class.
single target skill … check
ability to debuff your own damage…. check
channeled skill………. check
snare.. check
and a melee range knockback
if you give me the above in ONE CLASS, in any other game with pvp in it in the entire 21 years I have been playing pvp rpgs that would be the class I am playing and that is the class I am excelling at.
I myself use a sigil build and frenzy because its overpowered when its up as a ranged class.
just DONT play your melee specs for a few days and only play the ranged with Hammer as backup for the knockdown and knockback. and on maps where its going to be close quaters dont try to range, switch to hammer with sword+shield
Here is what shocked me. In every game every class whines on the forum how kitten they are, usually they are fine.
They blame their loss on another class being better and not personal skill.
Last night I noticed u can sort your pvp games played into a pie chart so u can see how much u play your four classes. Then you can also see wins by class thus letting you see the ratio. My win ratio with my ele is actually the lowest. I have more wins on my warrior than my ele with far less games played.
But that goes to effectiveness. I found the warrior easier to use with far less playing time and creates a higher impact in fights. The result is more fights won and more games won
it does burn my britches when I cycle through 3 stances blowing skills and I die to heartseeker spam or crossfire spam
i work so hard to die to a person pressing 1 button =/
I played it for a weekend, it was hilarious. you can actually hit TWO people with the whip at once if they are close.
I would think this would be very fun for pve to have a melee mage
