So, the Ambrite and Ley Line weapons...

I actually prefer the ambrite weapons, and would rather collect them. I love the warm tones and the bugs. As for the leyline set, I do have the warhorn, but I don’t have any real desire to get any more of them. They look like glowy pieces of limestone, and if that appeals to you, great, but I personally don’t care for them.

In the French forum, a player (Kaizok.7839) said this:

According to a book found in the cave where there is the line of force, ghosts are made of magic can serve as a source of food for the dragons. That would explain that Rytlock releases Ascalon to prevent Mordremoth absorb ghosts Ascalonians!

I think you may be right here. Certainly, there are so many ghosts, including some very powerful ones, that they’d be a buffet for Mordremoth. It’s also possible it took this long for Magdaer to be reforged, which would be necessary to end the curse. Either way, I’m super excited and can’t wait to see where they go with this!

The Nomad’s inscription recipe is 50 geodes. All the ambrite weapons require it. I finally got Scorpiones. I really want the whole set though. I’m not sure how I’m going to manage that much luck and grind. My advice? Get the recipes FIRST, since they require a t4/5 zone. The bugs are just luck, and not tied to tier, so you could get those any time in the future.

Glint's offspring inside the Zephyrite ship?

in Living World

Posted by: Blazing Liger.1236

Blazing Liger.1236

I’ve always theorized that Glint reproduced via parthenogenesis, essentially producing ‘clones’ of herself without a mate. This is common in some reptiles, and is the only method of reproduction for a few species. As for why the Zephyrites would take Glint’s offspring with them, keeping it on the move would probably be safer than keeping it in one place, as Kralkatorrik would certainly destroy it if he’s aware of it and can find it.

Mordremoth's Lieutenant?

in Lore

Posted by: Blazing Liger.1236

Blazing Liger.1236

In the Sylvari starter instance (the Dream), you have to defeat the ‘shadow of the dragon’ to continue. The Pale Tree talks later about your character fighting Zhaitan, but the dragon in the dream looks nothing like one of Zhaitan’s minions. He summons nightmare hounds, and his appearance seems to indicate that he is a servant of Mordremoth, not Zhaitan.

I was running around Caledon Forest with a new Sylvari character when I saw the dragon again in Arias’ garden in Ogham Wilds. The other players with me didn’t see the dragon, but did see an eerie fog and heard the dragon. When I switched to a different character, I saw the fog and not the dragon as well. Hints about LS2, or a glitch? Has anyone else encountered this dragon here?

Showing all waypoints as contested was a NIGHTMARE for anyone trying to go anywhere in Orr. Nobody wants to pay twice to get where they’re going.

Come to the AMD side….we have cookies, and our processors are so much cheaper…>.>

They also have pitiful single core performance making GW2 borderline unplayable on Teq/Wurm/WvW or even cities.

I’m running an AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition Processor (3.4 GHz) that I got in 2011…and it runs everything just fine, including all of those.

That exact same processor overclocked to 4 GHz used to give me drops to 15fps on WvW/Tequalt before upgrading to 4670K (same 290x, same SSD).

Are you running character model limit/quality on low or something?

No, my graphics settings are all towards the higher end. I do get some framerate drops if there are too many players around (For a full Teq group or a WvW mega-zerg, not in cities; down to 8-15), but I blame my aging video card for that, not the CPU.

I think the female Charr gets the short stick for EVERYTHING. It appears to me that the devs only make one version of armor for Charr, and it’s designed on the male model. The problem is that the two genders do NOT have identical models, and thus the female gets stuck with tail clipping and floating shoulders. And this is on top of the fact that Charr in general get the least consideration for armor design: helms that hide horns or clip, boots that all look the same, etc.

I think the problem isn’t that there’s not enough skimpy or non-skimpy armor (at least for heavy and light), but that there isn’t enough variety of either type. I’d like to see something like the ele’s FoW armor for a non-skimpy light armor, and I’d like to see something like the skirted assassin armors from GW1 for skimpy medium armor. As it is, if you want skimpy you get a short skirt, if you want non-skimpy, you get a trenchcoat. And medium armor suffers most from lack of variety. There are only two skimpy medium armors that come to mind: Order of Whispers armor, and human cultural t3.

Any chance of M visiting the Zephyrites?

in Lore

Posted by: Blazing Liger.1236

Blazing Liger.1236

It’s just wishful thinking, but I hope that this year, there will be more hints towards Glints child being discovered and protected by the Zephyrites. I recently rewatched WP’s guild wars mysteries and this was a real possibility back when the Sactum first landed:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wgFdfuuRkRg

This could be a long-term mystery, or Mister Morde could already send a champion to hunt the uncorrupted dragon down. Who knows, mere speculation.

That would be awesome. My personal theory is that Glint purposefully sacrificed herself in her collaboration with Destiny’s Edge in order to get Kralkatorrik from finding Glint II (my name for Glint’s offspring; because we do not know of Glint finding a mate, it is likely she reproduced by parthenogenesis, and thus Glint’s offspring is a clone of herself). Think about it: her actions in Edge of Destiny seemed a little out of character for her; Glint rarely does anything directly, preferring to pull strings and work from the shadows. Glint II had over two centuries to absorb all of Glint’s knowledge and power. She will certainly be a force to be reckoned with if and when she chooses to reveal herself.

Am I the only one really disappointed with the voice acting?

in Audio

Blazing Liger.1236

Just wanted to say I actually love GW2’s voice acting overall. Yes, there are a few characters who could’ve used some work (really just Mira), but the overall quality is pretty high. I see that a lot of people complaining are comparing it to TOR, which does have pretty good VOs, but those are not the norm for the genre. Those of us who played GW1 are very, very grateful for the work ANet has put in.

Where GW2 shines is in the sheer AMOUNT of VOs present in the game. Most other games I have played do not have anywhere near the volume of voiced content that GW2 has. STO, my other MMO of choice, has at time laughably poor VOs, and the player character has NO voice AT ALL. So, appreciate what you have, people, it could be so much worse.
