Pros:
- no rotation, so noob friendly
- good fury, swiftness and protection uptime
- there are no bad weapons, because there is nothing to compare
- great for gathering, JP and doing your daily stuff because of the perma fury and swiftness
- not the worst DPS, yet…
- can sometimes ignore instakill mechanics with glints heal
- bugs can make you laugh, sometimes
Cons:
- no rotation, so extremely bland
- no variety in weapons
- no variety in traits/utilities
- no racial utilities (seriously anet, why?!)
- no build variety
- jack of all trades, and sucking at all of them
- barely any condi removal
- still an unfinished class
- gets nerfed every patch
- no facet of quickness
- not allowed in raids, except MAYBE escort
- bugs still present since day 1 (just make sword 3 remove confusion and you fixed 1 bug already. it’s not that hard)
And still, I always find myself playing my rev in PvE. I once made the rev my main and altough I want to switch back to guard, I can’t. Probably lack of perma swiftness/fury. I don’t WvW or PvP with my rev, but looking at other threads should give you a general idea what the rev lacks.
Quaggans are pretty much like panda’s. They are big, fat and cuddly, but are also the dumbest being ever. These meatballs can’t do anything on their own (much like Trahearne) without getting killed, trapped or enslaved (again, much like Trahearne) and I am really wondering why they aren’t extinct yet.
Kraitkin > Slushydoo
For now, Anet should just mail the ingredients or elixir whenever you enter the map. It would be a great quick fix. Still strange how something like this always bugs out…
You only get laurels from daily login rewards though. You can buy ascended trinkets with laurels, but I personally wouldn’t do that.
What you can do is search for a guild that does the weekly Guild Missions. Every completed mission gives you guild commendations. You can then trade 12 of these + 5 gold for an ascended trinket. Not quite sure how many commendations you can get per week, but it’s something around 10-12. It’s quicker and cheaper then using laurels, but does require a guild that does these missions. Or you use both.
Also, don’t forget the asc trinkets are unique. This means you cannot wear 2 of the same at once. However, there are always 2 different trinkets with the same stat combination and you can wear those together.
For bags, you could buy those in WvW for badges of honor. 75 badges + some gold for an 18 slot, and 350 badges and more gold for a 20 slot bag. Just make sure you pick the bag that holds all items. You won’t notice the difference between 18 or 20 slot bags.
If you are looking for exotic gear with Berserker stats, you can also run all paths from CoE (Crucible of Eternity). All paths are pretty much the same length and difficulty and people often do all paths at once, means over 240 tokens at once. The chests can also contain charged cores/lodestones, which sell for quite a nice amount.
The onslaught phase should be removed entirely. It makes the fight last longer without any point in doing so.
The champion oakhearts have the same reason. There is no point in them being there. Remove them.
Same goes for the blooms. But okay, apperently anet wants to make a joke with poison BLOOMS and BLOOMhunger…. Too much stuff that isnt needed.
Honestly, the entire Ordnance corp chain takes too long. It took me multiple day and nights to even find the place where it starts. It should just be scaled down to a single player at all times.
The Noble outpost wasn’t done much either, but since that WP can be used pretty much always people have an easy way to get there. The Ordnance just sits in a corner that takes a while to get to, which combined with boring events make people forget about this chain entirely.
Maybe we need a WP in their starting cave?
Very bad event i won’t do this until it will be fixed to resonable respawn time.
I suggest doing it now, because at the moment there are still squads covering a large amount of maps. This makes it easier to get to them. If there are no more squads left you are all alone and the bosses are spawning in Tyria maps, which have been empty since HoT.
And about the Moa. That guy has no HP at all. I stumbled across one on my own and I didn’t know about the events yet. I decided to just kill and it took me less than 10 seconds to solo it.
Not that expected much from a Legendary Moa but still…
Somebody else noticed that sometimes when a player get’s rezzed, and a fractal avenger finishes her dunk, that the player still instantly dies even though he was no longer downed? Noticed it randomly happening when the rezzed player was still in range of the dunk.
Additonaly, me and my friend noticed that whenever a thief shadowsteps away while downed, the avenger sometimes still kills the player even though the downed player is nowhere near the avenger.
Sometimes even both things happen, meaning a thief shadowsteps away, gets rezzed and then instantly dies.
The patch notes said Blooms HP was smaller, but I think it should be reduced more. His invulnerabily combined with the boring spirit onslaught(which means players murdering 100s of critters…) makes the fight longer than it should be.
Then there’s those champions which have no point in being there, but who cares anyway. It’s like putting the thaumanova anomaly near VG. It has no point, but at least there’s something extra.
I have no trouble with Blooms 4 sec knockdown + Donkey Kong ground pounding, because I know there is a buff that increases endurance regen by 100%. The more you know.
The only thing that does annoy me is that the hitbox of his charge, not the damage that oneshots me, but the hitbox. Sometimes I stand right on top of Bloom and he charges past me not doing anything. Then the next time I’m dead wondering what the hell just happened.
About the Dungeon stories, they should be account bound. I hate having it done on one character and then not on another. Apart from 99% of all people I play more than 1 character and it sucks not being able to open an explorable path. The stories aren’t exactly rewarding of fun either.
Arah for level 70? kind of stupid considering the map is level 80.
What should be changed are the dungeon rewards. At the moment cutting down a tree earns you more than 1-2 (mini)bosses. Dungeons are not run at all not because they are difficult, but because the time VS reward is garbage. A single ML takes as much time as 2 or even 3 dungeon paths, yet awards much more. Just running around and farming in the HoT maps earns you more as well.
How about reducing the token costs from all gear, or increase the tokens you get from dungeons even more. I know Anet changed the rewards but they are still terrible and barely anybody except new players run dungeons.
Hell, maybe even allow us to buy other stuff with tokens, like transmutation charges or something. Put obby shards, ecto’s and different tier crafting bags in the dungeon shops. Give guarenteed rares in every chest. so many ways to make dungeons worth the time.
I find dungeons much more fun than zerging multiple event chains or ML, but stuff I want isn’t gonna pay for itself. If dungeons were an aditional way to get money or crafting mats, much more people would run them. They don’t have to earn as much as ML does, but at least make dungeons worth running.
Yeah, I know, Guardians got buffed. For PvP at least. In PvE they are still pretty terrible. And here’s why:
Damage wise guardians are.. average I suppose, but unlike warriors guardians can’t keep up 25 might stacks on their own. Warriors can deal much more damage as well, not to mention their fury. What can guardians stack easily? Protection, retaliation and stability. Protection is great, but it’s only ever needed in raids and even then you barely ever see guardians.
Retaliation is garbage. It won’t kill enemies, it won’t increase your DPS and if you are doing high level fractals with boon thieves it can even kill you. And if you already forgot, I’m talking about PvE here, not PvP. This boon is useless and I’d love to give it up without getting anything in return. Or maybe, turn this in a boon that can’t be stolen. At least then I can actually make use of my 10% bonus damage when enemies stand in my symbols when using a GS.
Stability is not that bad, it’s just that apart from uncategorized you barely ever need it. And since you have your reflect wall and most of the time a mesmer with feedback, it’s not needed at all. Also, I rather have a dome of reflection, instead of a wall. But that’s probably just me.
I know Guardians are not supposed to deal massive damage and that they are supposed to guard or protect your party, but in reality, that doesn’t work out at all. Damage is everything, and apart from Raids, going defensive is bad. Look at druids, they might be defensive but provide so many buffs which make up for them being defensive. Every class can dodge and every class has defensive options, some of which are far better then a guards.
And mobility speaks for itself. no 25% movespeed trait or sigil to get around. Yes I could run around spamming retreat and using my staff, but then I leave a symbol behind which often puts me in combat because some enemy decided it looks shiny.
Guardians can do many things, but are average in almost all of them. Meanwhile other classes can do what gaurdians can, but better and then have some extra’s as well. Even though you barely see scrappers/engies in PvE, I feel they contribute so much more than guardians.
I really want to keep playing my guard, but I just feel like I’m holding back my party by being one. It actually suprises me that some more hardcore players or “elitists” aren’t kicking me yet, because when I get kicked because I play a guard, I fully understand them. Guardians could really use a major PvE overhaul, even after a buff which PvE wise didn’t change that much.
Their are loads of sets that already clip with it’s own pieces, a few more clipping issues won’t bother me. A design unique to Ad infinitum shouldn’t be asking too much, as it’s a legendary after all.
Legendaries should stand out and they just do that, but not when you keep a shield around. Maybe just put an “always visible” on all backs, that if turned on will show your back even if you wear a shield, and when off it does the current crap.
Why aren’t we talking about the real issues here? Why does my back piece show on my shield when drawn, then jump to my back? That’s the real issue here.
Well if you would just make it visible at all times you could at least fix that problem for some people.
So I have my Ad infinitum like most people these days, and the one thing that really, really, really bothers me is that my back item dissapears when I have a sheated shield. I can understand that for many back items it just looks silly when items clip through it.
But this back is different as it hovers slightly above your character. This leaves more than enough space to show both the shield and Ad infinitum. Why not show the back piece as well? It’s a legendary back afterall, and I didn’t make it so I can hide it with a shield.
Sup all,
After doing a lot of non Raid PvE stuff like fractals, world bosses etc. etc etc… I decided it’s time to pick up raids. But finding a group that actually teaches you something is impossible, and finding a group with a bit of patience is even harder.
So I am searching for a guild that can teach me how to Raid and is willing to do other content, mostly fractals, as well. I got all professions except a Ranger/Druid, but that’s because it doesn’t quite match my playstyle. Barely any experience on the revenant though, but that’s because I find them very, very dull.
Other than that I basicly make everything a Zerk, because if I can kill it before it kills me, everything will be allright. I don’t mind changing builds around and will definately do so, but I’m just a bit less experienced at playing that way.
So I’,m looking for:
- A casual and social group, because I like to goof around as well,
- people that are patient and want to teach how to Raid,
- Nighttime hours are fine, but during the day fits me better,
I don’t mind passing things on I have been thought, so once I have learned it I can teach others as well. I’m pretty experienced in all aspects of PvE except raids, so can teach if needed.
I’m on EU, so being an EU guild is probably for the best.
