I don’t think they will refer to it as 1.1 by the way. I think we will see a gradual roll out of improvements and new features instead of “big” patch days. Now I am sure for events like opening a new zone will have big patches of course. But looking back at Guild Wars 1, they never really had “patch” days…they kind of just happened and sometimes by surprise!
I agree with the poster about playing to the games strengths: I expect to see improvements to dynamic events and new forms of events. I am really curious how they are going to handle holiday events as they might need to introduce a new style of event. Guild Wars had collections quests which is not really possible with the current even system to run 24-7.
I expect to see expansions to crafting with new recipes (not advertised of course!).
But really the game’s main feature is the dynamic events, so I expect them to introduce new and more complex events as they refine and improve their tools to be able to handle new challenges.
While I really love the game, I am very excited to see what kind of new content they can put out and what kind of improvements they can make as time goes on. Updates always get me really excited

Do you think this has the potential to eventually force people to spread out so these zergs become less of a problem? If so, we might need to give it more time, and if not, ArenaNet might need to look into the best possible balance if they haven’t begone looking into it already.
Has it stayed at 70 per event? And if it has, how long has it stayed here? How long did it take to go from 370 t0 70?

That’s a good idea! It should be private to the server you are on too…you know to keep out spies for WvW!
I would like inventory icons to have a different background for newly acquired items and when clicking on the icon above the minimap when you acquire something new. When I get a new trident or spear and I want to equip it, it is sometimes hard to find it in all of the item icons, especially when some share the same icon.
Also, I get confused on some events when there is a progress bar. Some progress upwards to completion and some progress downwards and I am not sure if I have noticed a pattern. Some indication about which is needed to complete the event would be super handy. Maybe a little arrow in the progress bar to indicate the completion direction? Sometimes when I stumble into an event where the progress bar is at the left end, I try to rush over to get in before it completes…but sometimes it goes up instead of down making those few seconds of panic unwarranted
Simple changes that I think would affect usability greatly!

I like coming to the forums when taking a break from the game, so now the whole experience feels complete
I’m with ituhata…I tend to just explore around and stumble into them. If someone asks for help in chat or announces an event, I will usually make my way over there to help. I just really like the cooperative feeling when playing with random players in these events.
I feel I would get bored if I was just running around finding them on my own which is why I keep stepping away from Orr as I wait for more players to come in

Do you know how much karma he was earning compared to you? That would give us more information to determine if it is a bug or something else
I honestly have not seen this even kick in for me, and if it has I haven’t noticed. I tend to just explore and run into events and not even really check how much I am earning.
I thought I saw somewhere else that there is a 30 minute timer if you are farming the same area/event, but I cannot verify this.
I think it only kicks in if you repeat the same event over and over within this 30 minutes. I do not think it is a zone-wide effect, meaning if you go do another event, that you will not experience a decline in your karma reward.
The point of karma was to ensure that people didn’t have to worry about participating in a specific event to get a particular item. Karma as a currency is perfect in allowing people to buy what they want while participating in the events that they want.
There is also a problem with this: this forces players to compete with each other to get these rewards. What about the players that enjoy more support roles like reviving fallen enemies, or protecting people in siege weapons?
It is suppose to be a cooperative game, and I think the current system allows people to play together without stressing if they are doing too little to achieve a specific reward.
One thing they could do is add more karma vendors or more items to current karma vendors which is probably going to happen with future content anyways
I became instantly interested when they were redesigned. The fact that they are made of plant material everywhere makes them look distinct instead of being a human with plantlike features. Their eyebrows are leaves! Their hair can be leaves, wood, or even a mushroom! Their muscles are sculpted with leaves. They glow at night and in the dark!
Also with my second character I wanted to make a ranger as well as use a different race to experience a different story, but it just makes so much sense to have a ranger be a sylvari! So now I have two! I just love their innocence and curiosity.
I think it will be difficult to try a new race unfortunately!
I don’t look at the screen when I am typing. I look at the chat window. I RP. Nothing happens on the screen, everything occurs in my head and in the chat window.
It appears in the chat window so it would be very difficult for you not to see. Maybe there is another reason you keep getting kicked?
Does anyone else hear a weird sound only when it’s raining? Or is this an intended sound.

Why does it matter who caught them? That has no bearing on this at all…it shouldn’t be happening at a “respected” organization.
And I did respond to your post: you made it clear that ArenaNet not being accredited means SOMETHING. What that something is isn’t as clear, but apparently people find what the BBB says is important which I have tried to show they don’t matter….particularly with a software company where it’s customers use more modern tools to determine their trustworthiness.
I think you are saying you can file a refund request instead.
But that is about as far as I agree with you. They are not a good company, if they get hurt, it’s because they deserve it after treating people like garbage. A good company is a company like, RIot Games, Arenanet is not a good company.

I have been following them since 2004 and I completely disagree. They love their community and they build their games for US.
They stopped selling digital copies which cuts into their profits all in the name of a quality experience. Just because a vocal minority try to spin this into something bigger doesn’t the mean the majority of us do not like what they are doing.

I also called the number listed at BBB and they couldn’t find a registered listing for Arenanet or NC Soft…

So? And Apple has a B+ and is NOT accredited. What am I suppose to do with this information.
Does this mean I shouldn’t trust Apple or buy their products? Oh wait! They have some of the best customer service without needing to pay the BBB for a pointless accreditation.
You all should read about the 2010 BBB scandal where they awarded more points to paying members. Yup sounds like an organization to trust!
Uhm, maybe because this WHOLE THING could have been avoided if they used common sense and made it to where a pass/user change required AUTHENTICATION from the email, something EVERY other mmo has, why are they too good to use it? Maybe they just like pissing off customers and copy/pasting tickets.

Your account getting hacked is YOUR fault.
You take the necessary steps to create a secure account, why should this rest soley on ANet?

If you post your ticket number an ANet employee might be able to help. I am kind of curious to see what got you banned
Angel: do not spread misinformation. They have said over and over again they do not ban for slips of the tongue or for saying “poop”. Common that’s just ridiculous. Don’t believe these people, they are not really telling us what they really said to get banned
The filter does not give you free reign to say what you want.
Also, remember when ANet showed the reasons for their bans by copying what the user said? Ya everyone acted innocent until we saw the truth.
Are you serious Branskins? You don’t think it’s serious when a company allow scammers to use your credit card information using a fraudulent system where they don’t even need to check your CVV on your Credit card to make a purchase. In what dimension is that not serious? A chargeback is perfectly justifiable.
Whom has this happened to? I want to know. Saying “my friend had money stolen” is not proof because as ANet showed with the bannings, everyone exaggerates or just plain lies about their circumstances.
They are not letting them use your credit card, that would make them an accomplice. If your account was hacked, that is your fault. Now a chargeback on gem store purchases seems to be where this is not abusive, but a chargeback on the game is ridiculous
Branskins maybe you’re too young to understand how credit cards and chargebacks work. Chargebacks generally don’t have repercussions on the bank-end at all because they are often multiple accidental purchases or fraudulent access to the card. Once I went to the movies and they accidentally charged me twice. I couldn’t call them up for a refund, so I called my bank and got it cleared away. Getting a chargeback for an online purchase is common if the purchase was defective and you couldn’t get it properly refunded. There is nothing fraudulent about chargebacks. Your condescending tone is slightly annoying but I will look passed that. How about you read the EULA where they explain that a hacked account is your fault since it…is. This is unless they are covering up some leak which if true I would join your crusade.
Ok so ANet delivered the service to you, you used an account that was already leaked or easy to hack, and now you want to issue a chargeback because the goods weren’t delivered? They were and due to an error on YOUR end, you have to wait in a queue for help. This is ABUSE of the system. If I buy a car which is then stolen from me, I screw over the dealer who sold it to me assuming they had no involvement?
So tell me, where is this warranted? Being charged twice at a movie theatre makes sense obviously, but here this is YOUR mistake. Read your EULA.

I wonder if any of the reviewing sites have had their accounts compromised. That would look bad, but honestly, HONESTLY, these issues have nothing to do with the game, just the company itself (which appears to be incompetent for a release this large). I have heard the game itself is wonderful so hopefully they can fix this up and overhaul their security systems. I have been playing mmorpgs for 10 years now. Tons of AAA releases from Funcom, to Blizzard, to SOE, and never has my information been compromised like this. It’s frightening.
Your 10 years of experience means you probably built up a diverse online persona, which gives hackers different accounts to try.
And Battle.Net was recently hacked and I am willing to bet a lot of players are using their old emails from BNet.
Just because it happened to you this time doesn’t mean it didn’t happen to others when those other games launched either
Opening multiple tickets is probably not advised as they are already swamped. Use the /bug command to report other bugs that do not affect your account
None of us knows what happened so I’m not going to jump to any conclusions. Post your ticket number and maybe a nice ArenaNet employee can help you

Ya cause his bank is really out there to defend and help him? ArenaNet is trying to provide a great service here. They are not trying to screw anyone over. They had over 1 million prepurchases and who knows how many sales after it launched.
They even stopped online sales, which is unprecedented.
None of us knows what kind of load they are under. People say just to throw more staff members at it. That almost always inevitably slows things down.
Lets be rational people. When people start showing more support for their banks than ArenaNet I know all rationality is gone….
EVERYONE understands your frustration from not being able to play. There is no conspiracy here. ArenaNet is not taking your money and never looking at you again.

Today, after lunch, I was playing and it appeared an error “lost connection” (as they did in the market three days ago). The game is restarted, taking me to the character creation screen and my main character lv 80 is missing! you can see the medals and game progress but my character isn’t here. No one has seen fit to give me an answer and now have gone about 7 hours. I’m really tired of all the problems we have in this game, but this is a very serious thing: incredible !
Only 7 hours and the world is ending? Give them time to answer you! Or just try logging on later to see if it fixes itself

You clicked delete, not Play. You never have to type your name if you just want to play your character.
Also, I don’t think you need to update your ticket so much as they will get to it. At least you can continue to play on a different character while you wait to hear if they can restore it

I would rather put my faith in a bank/credit card company that has taken good care of me for 10+ years than a software company that cant/wont fix a simple issue with my account, let alone communicate with me in any way in more days than i was able to play their game. We have already been told that support tickets with hacked accounts are taking priority, i can’t imagine how long a support ticket would take asking for a refund…..
I’ve never heard of someone other than wallstreet defending the banks. Putting your faith in the companies that made a mess out of everything? Please, this sounds so juvenile.
I really hope anyone doing a chargeback can never come back to GW2. Please be in the EULA
They want you to report the location this happens in and what skills you used. They think it is an issue of location and not a bugged skill. I saw a dev say this a few days ago, but it could have changed by now as more information came in
