If it were to affect WvW, I agree it shouldnt be rushed as we would never get the return on investment. At least I can make sure we dont rush it any more. Hopefully, someone knows with 100% certainty if the PvP influence affects WvW.
Does the 10% influence buff for PvP actually affect influence earned in WvW? My officers keep building and using it, but i think the correct buff for influence are the ones under politics. Can anyone confirm or deny this for me? In a guild of 400+ there is just too much influence coming in from all over to figure which buff is affecting what. I dont want to build the PvP influence, as it is usually rushed, if i dont have to.

This issue was fixed for a day or so. Now it just spins and when it completes it shows a list other than that of the large guild. It appears to be my friends list. Looking at the achievements of your guild appears to break frequently for the larger guilds.
I cannot pull up the leaderboards for my guild. The website returns “Internal Server Error” when I do. My guild has 400+ members. I never have any issues pulling up my 10 person guild, but my main guild almost never comes up. The wheel spins like the page is trying to load and then eventually errors out.
I was doing the new twighlight dungeon path on saturday and went to send every member of my party a sharpening stone and after sending 2, I was suppressed and unable to send the rest of the party a sharpening stone for another 4-5 minutes. Why on earth am I being filtered on my party members?
Likewise, as a guild leader of a 400+ person guild I send in game mail message regularly to people who are offline and am once again suppressed after 2 message when I send the same message to between 5-20 people. It takes forever to communicate with those people based on this limitation.
I can understand the filter with people not on your friends list or guild due to gold selling and griefing, but for people we are trying to play with this is quite a hindrance.
This topic seems to be mostly about gem-gold ratios, but the topic says disequilibrium. I would like to mention that the disequalibrium is not gone from the market yet which ascended weapons introduced. I found one on Sunday night within the TP market and made 93 gold off of it in the last 72 hours. I started with 33 gold and invested it all to make it to 126 gold now. I would have made more gold, but I only have 2-3 hours a night to play the market and get my dailies.
If other players are taking advantage of this, and I think there are, then it could lead to people converting gold to gems to drive the price of gems up until the market equalizes. I plan to buy gems from the gold I make in the market.
I think people needed quick gold to get some of the mats they needed for ascended items and that is why the price of gems went down. I have 8 BL kits in my bank from the dailies over the last 8 months, so I didnt need any of those for the dark matter.
I am from Yak’s. This matchup shows exactly why 12 teams in a league puts the bottom half of the league at an enormous disadvantage. Getting smoked by #6 Dragonbrand is not really much fun for #11 Yak’s and #14 Kaineng . This is exactly why the league play with such a large league may demoralize servers and reduce WvW player population on the lower tier servers in each league. Why can’t the league in the US be 6 teams each and we have 4 leagues? I think that would generate far more interest in WvW and actually give each server a competitive chance based on their current make-up.
I am not looking forward to more matches like this one where the other server outnumbers you so much you cannot even do tactical strikes with small groups.
We do not actively recruit in TOG, but people can apply if they stumble across our website. We kick people every quarter if they do not earn 1 achievement point during that time. We cant seem to get small enough to combine because there are enough active people.
A good question is posed in how big is too big for guild size. I believe that 500 is fine if alliance chat is added for cross guild comunication. However, because people can be in up to 5 different guilds and observing how infrequently causual gamers play GW2, to get enough people online to do large events like the new Tequatl with our own guild even in a 500 person guild will be tough. In both of our main guilds we have 40-60 people out of a few hundred members ever logged on at a time. And all of the members are active, just maybe not more than a few days a month. This is why I believe 1000 is the right number. That will give 80-120 online and representing at once which is enough to do large raid-like content.
I am a guild leader for a greater than 440 person guild, The Olden Gamer (TOG). We have 2 other TOG guilds, one for AU members on Yak’s Bend and another one for WvW where those interested in either of the TOG main guilds can collaborate in WvW. The issue is that it is a challenge to communicate across all 3 guilds without alliance chat. Would the developers ever consider increasing the guild size to 1000 members?
This would allow us to put everyone we have in a single guild and facilitate communication. The drawback for us would be that we would burn more influence as we speed the WvW guild buffs up, but it would be worth it to get our guild community all together.
At any given time we have about 60 people online out of 440 online in Olden. That likely isnt enough to take on the new tequatl fight coming. It would be nice to easily pool our TOG resources together for the larger content heading to the game.
An issue like this happens to me about 10% of the time for me. I open the game and it appears the .exe gets stuck checking for an update and doesnt get to the screen where i can log in. There is no alt+F4 to end the task nor does “end process tree” kill the GW2 process when in the task member. The only way to get past this is to shut down my pc completely and turn it on. All other programs and functions in Windows 7 work fine. There is no regular way to make this happen. Sometimes it is the first time I turn my pc on and sometimes it is the 2nd or 3rd time opening the game without rebooting the PC.
I do wonder if this has something to do with my solid state hard drive and how it operates as I never saw this before I got my SSD. I have been using the SSD for 5 months now and I only see this issue about 10% of the time myself.
Whatever is causing this though is making GW2 unkillable which is odd to me. I can kill GW2 any other time when it is operating normally. This is the only time windows shows it as not responding.
The arrow buttons to adjust your build queue do not appear until you hit the “gear” button to the top right of the build queue. then you can adjust the order of the items that are not building yet. If an item is already building, you must cancel it to move another upgrade into its place.
When looking at the jewelry it isnt equivalent. For example, when I want max magic find, I only get power and precision, but now with this armor I can get max crit damage and max magic find together along with getting 66% of normal in every stat. This will make me way stronger than I used to be when using magic find. I agree I will use a specific armor set for dungeons or other activities. Right now I use sentinal for dungeons on my necro.
I do worry will get nerfed when many people start moving to this set for their primary magic find gear.
Are the stats on the armor correct? Based on what I have seen posted on reddit and elsewhere show that the new armor gives more total point boosts than any other armor set? Will this armor be nerfed to be statistically equivalent to the other armor sets?
Looking to find out before I invest time/gold to replace my magic find armor with this since it seems far superior. Would hate to get the armor to only have it nerfed.
I found after the patch yesterday that I have to now click an “are you sure” prompt every time I attempt to speed up a guild upgrade now. I speed up upgrades nearly daily for my guild and this has made managing upgrades super annoying and it takes way more time to manage than it used to. To me this is the equivalent now of the Windows Vista security prompts that people loved to hate. Please get rid of the confirmation message for managing the guild upgrades.
I cannot log in now since downloading the patch. Was doing Arah path 1 when the patch became available. Upon finishing the run we exited and restarted the client to get the patch. Now we are all getting the following error code: 58:11:5:512
I am very dissappointed with this purchase as well yesterday. I bought this and quickly learned it is significantly slower to use than the orichalcum sickle and the animation looks exactly like a pick ax and you cannot dodge when it is in its third swing. I died twice trying to run through Orr harvesting everything in sight as i couldnt dodge. I didnt have an issue before with my previous sickle.
If anything this item should harvest at the same speed of the old one and allow you to dodge at any point while harvesting. Hope they patch this soon. They wont sell as many of these as they could if they dont patch it.
Never had this issue before. Been playing since Beta. Just started tonight when I was downloading the patch. Was disconnected 10 times during patch update. Have been disconnected 4 times from game with error in 10 minutes tonight.

It says Armaggedon in the title, but is different from the other Armaggedon armor. There is no prefix on it. I thought it was quite an odd drop when I got it as it didnt match anything. It was kind of like the rare Staff I got which was just called “Staff”.

Sure did. This was a standard condition and not a super one. It removed the condition from my character, but not my other allies.
Does anyone know where I can find Light Exotic armor with Magic Find, Toughness, and Vitality stat? Once in fractals I got an exotic account bound drop of Armageddon Light Mask and it has these stats. I cannot figure out for the life of me where I can buy the rest of the pieces. Any ideas?
I really hope I dont have to rely on RNG for exotic drops in Fractals for the rest of the pieces. I bet my odds of getting a precursor are higher!
I was running the molten alliance dungeon last night and my group did a test. We stood behind the drill at the beginning and all of us purposely caught on fire. We had 20+ seconds of burn. I put down my Necro’s well of power and all of my party members gained protection, but the burn condition was only removed from me. The text of the well says it will remove a condition on allies and turn it to a boon with each 1sec pulse of the well. This is clearly not happening for the burn condition. I suspected this first in my CoF path1 run last night.
Anyone else seen this issue or can confirm it?
My Necro’s dungeon support will be much improved if this is fixed.
So i was doing some underwater killing last night and noticed when i used my #3 skill on the trident that the enemy I poisoned was getting 30+ seconds of poison instead of the 4 3/4 the skill says the enemy will get. Anyone else noticing the same “problem”?
I was pleasantly surprised and it helped me a bit last night.
I purchased the unlimited mining pick and the group of players I play with do like the animation and believe it is pretty neat. However, we thought of something that could definitely bring a lot of convience to the tool. We would like the tool to one-hit the node and deplete all of the ore at the node in one fell swoop. Is this even possible the way the game is coded?
How cool would it be when the unlimited mining axe comes out if it is a chainsaw or hatchet that chops through the harvesting trees in one hit and then you get a whole stack of wood? The player would really believe they got the best of the best harvesting tools if they added this small quality of life time-saver.
Suggestion:
1. To help enable a guild to communicate during a guild mission, it would be excellent if there was a way for guild leaders to put a guild marker on the map that could be seen from anywhere in the world. Sometimes the targets for the bounty hunts arent really near any POIs/waypoint/vista and it is challenging to tell the guild where the people are at and find and fight the targets within the time limit.
2. When we activate a guild rush or have already engaged the bounty target, it would be super if the guild activity icon which shows up on the world map when you are super close to the event was visible on the world map from anywhere in the world. The guild members would be able to see that their guild is doing a rush and know exactly where it is at. Or someone could easily find where the rest of the group is killing a bounty target. Now if the target disappeared or despawned it would be logical for the icon to go away.
Anyone else part of an active guild doing guild missions think the same thing?
My guild, The Olden Gamers, promoted me to be their mission leader today. They gave me Mission Control, Display Guild Emblem, Guild Stash Deposit, Treasure Trove Deposit, & Treasure Trove Withdraw. We have build Guild Bounty 2 and Guild Bounty 3, but I am unable to activate either of these items even though I have the mission control which states I should be able to activate consumables and start guild missions.
Please help!! Trying to plan a Guild Trek 3 for Sunday.
You have to craft 40 masterwork items for the monthly. The monthly is tiered so that you can earn more experience and feel like you are progressing. When you hover your mouse over the achievement in the hero panel you can see how many tiers their are. It typically will say 1 of 4 or 2 of 4, etc. Also, if you click the check box to track the achievement in the UI and hover your mouse over the achievement in the UI, the game will tell you how many you have to do in total to complete the achievement.
Why on earth does this boss not give the rare loot when it has the same chest look as the dragon chests and this boss is a little more complex to fight (and fun) than the mark II golem on the same map?
I hadn’t done this fight in a few months until yesterday and was super sad it didn’t give a rare.
I am having the same issues. I purchased 25 meaty sandwiches from the TP for 50 copper and ate one and didn’t get any credit.
I am an artificer and tried drinking a potion. That didn’t work either.
I am pretty sure this is bugged!
Ok, so I did some testing this week. Last night I fought the fire elemental about an hour before the dailies reset. Then I did it again about 2 hours after the daily reset. I was able to get the chest both times on the same character. I have not tested the dragon chests as I am working on leveling a new character that cannot do those battles yet.
So the issue with not getting the chest may be more tied to the extreme lag that is occuring during these fights now are not allowing some people to get credit for defeating the boss even if the chest could be available for their character.
I will likely post one more time once I verify if the dragon fights are on a 24 hour timer or linked to daily resets
Now that there is the ability to select items to track in the top right corner of the UI, I would like to see a selectable world boss reset timer that shows the amount of time until I can kill a specific world boss again and get the chest. I was with a buddy at Jormag last night and he was likely 30 min short of his 24 hour reset but wasn’t sure when his reset would happen. We both did the event and he didn’t get a chest. We wouldn’t have done that event if we knew he wouldn’t have got the chest. As far as we can tell, the world boss chests are on a 24 hour character timer like the ori nodes and don’t reset when the dailies reset.
This timer would really help to plan the short amount of time we have to play together each evening after the kids are in bed.
My regular group I run with each night have been playing the game since beta/launch. We do all sorts of content rather than hammer through the same thing over and over. We have completed some explorable paths on most dungeons, but now we cannot remember which paths we have done and which paths we haven’t. We only know we have done 2/4 paths with one of those being story mode. Please add some means of letting us know which paths we have not experienced yet. Doesn’t need to be through achievements, but some sort of dungeon tracker.
My friends and I continually add up how much we think we have. It would be extremely convenient to know how much magic find we have equipped.
I think know how much your total bonuses are would also be helpful.
So for example, on the character screen of the hero panel there could be a bonuses box similar to the standard box where you have the following stats shown: Magic Find +%, Gatherer (show guild bonus + WvW bonus), total experience boost (adds food, guild bonuses, etc.)
I thought I would let everyone know that I stumbled about a possible way to “guest” on another server even though server guesting has not been provided yet officially. I didn’t know about this, but maybe others did already?!?
I am on Yak’s bend and was in the Lion’s Arch overflow last night and saw in map chat that someone wanted to run the AC exp. I joined their group and quickly realized they were not from my server. I went over to the Plains of Ashford and sure enough my other guildies told me that I was all of a sudden on Fort Aspenwood server.
So I am going to speculate that it is indeed possible to join parties and play with folks on other servers providing you can join a party with them on an overflow server. I also should note that Yak’s Bend is currently playing against Fort Aspenwood in WvWvW, so maybe you can only guest on servers you are playing against on WvW for now, but either way it it better than nothing and thought I would pass this info along.
Last night I was playing on Southsun Cove to get the rich orichalum vain and fought the champion up there protecting it with a large group. I made several hits on him, dropped some wells on him and when he was dead I got no exp for killing him and no loot on him. Then I went to a dynamic event southeast of there where you kill karka by a waypoint. I killed one karka by myself and saw the event progress, but I didn’t get any xp from the kill or loot and didn’t get credit for the dynamic event either.
I was able to kill other creatures on the island and get xp and loot.
I left after that back to lions arch as there was no way I could get more karka shells with this going on.
BUG: So for some reason I can kill karka, but it doesn’t tag them and give me credit for the kill. This also happened REGULARLY during the lost shores event. I got credit and xp for maybe 30 karka during the event out of the hundreds I help kill.
I was able to kill tons of babies from the egg layers to get the monthly achievement although those didn’t give xp or drops.
Anyone else have the same issue popping up?
I have posted on this topic as well. I was starting to think it was just my asura because he is short as to why I cannot hit stuff, but I think the problem is more widespread. In addition to being able to hit the mounds in AC with daggers on my necro, I also found I couldn’t hit the roadblocks most of the time in wayfarer foothills. I can sometimes find a spot that does work for fixed objects like the roadblocks, but those graveling mounds were impossible for me to ever hit. I can concur that the elementalist in our party was able to hit the mounds when I couldn’t.
Path 3 in ascalon catacombs needs a look because the graveling mounds seem impossible to hit with some weapons. I couldn’t hit them with my necro daggers and a thief in my group couldn’t hit them with pistols. We had maybe a 10% hit rate. I like hard and challenging and having to potentially respec mid dungeon to get things done, but being impossible isn’t much fun.
Maybe the strategy isn’t to destroy the mounds, but somehow I can’t imagine that being the case.
I did a test. In PVP mists it didn’t change my toughness when I went into Lich form, but when I use the Lich form in PvE, my toughness is reduced by about 100 at level 80. I still don’t see why toughness would get reduced when going into this form. Is this a bug?
Last night my party attempted to do Ascalon Catacombs path 3 and we made it to the room where all the graveling mounds sprout up every so many seconds. The issue is when everyone speced their characters for DPS we were unable to hit the mound. For example, my necromancer using dagger/dagger was unable to hit the mound with the #1 weapon skill. It kept saying miss miss miss miss when I was on the mound, behind the mound, or right in front of it. I would hit the gravelings when they spawned, but never the mounds. The only skill I had that hit the mound was my wells that did damage.
Also, there was a theif with us last night and he experienced the same issue as me.
So I believe there is a bug in the mounds where sometimes there are not hittable for some reason.
How do you test toughness in an alternate form in the mists?
When I am playing my necro I am level 80 and have all level 80 armor/weapons and level 75 jewelry and they are all outfitted with power, toughness, and healing specs. I seem like quite the tank normally, but when I enter lich form, yes I am powerful, but I feel squishier than ever. Does armor/weapon/jewelry stats not carry over into Lich Form?
I am having an issue where I type the name of the item I want to search for in the TP and when the auto populated list pops up, if I select the item with the keyboard the next page will load but also have an infinite yellow spinning ring and I cannot select anything on the page. To get out of it I have to change tabs in the TP. On the other hand, if I end up clicking with the mouse on the auto populated list after I partially type an item’s name, everything works just fine and usually instantaneously.
I am a member of two guilds. In the past I could switch between representing both guilds. One of the guilds I created and am the leader where the other I am a member of. I am able to only represent the guild where I am a member of, but not the one where I am a leader. I click represent and nothing happens. I am able to edit the member’s rank of the guild I am the leader of even though I cannot represent the guild.
I should mention that I only have this issue with my level 68 Necro, but everything works fine with my level 20 Ranger and I can represent either guild with that character.
