Getting a graphic issue after the patch

I am having the same issue with a blue flashing screen. I just got a 2nd video card today and am trying to use NVIDIA SLI with a GTX670, but otherwise have the same issue as above on my desktop.

I fixed my issue. My SLI bridge was at fault. I moved it to the 2nd set of SLI connections and now things work fine.

I went to our guild hall in the Lost Precipice to check out the basic decoration costs to verify the patch notes were true. I went straight to the Master Scribe vendor and checked out the 3rd tab and all of the basic decorations still cost 50s + 2 crystalline ore at that vendor.

I then went to the basic decoration merchant in the market and he correctly sold the basic decorations for just 50s.

So at least the decoration costs has a work-around.

I unlocked my elite specializations on my warrior and my mesmer in Heart of the Mists and it did not give me the exotic or start the specialization collection. Going into regular Tyria did not fix the issue. When I unlocked the specialization on my Necro and Ele in Tyria everything worked as expected.

I think you may be trying to keep the economy from tanking with high priced mats when map rewards comes. I invest in unidentified dyes. They tanked this weekend when people saw you could get them in map rewards. After 10 events in Gendarran Fields over an hour, I never got one. I had no clue how many events it would take to get one. It is still more time and cost effective to just run dungeons and then buy with gold what you need. Was completely surprised by that. Also, only getting 1 item just didnt feel rewarding for me. I wont likely farm maps with the current implementation unless the item I need is on Frostgorge. Then I can do the champ farm and get events pretty quickly to maybe earn a mat I need.

Keeping my feedback short:
1. Give greatsword auto attack more DPS than dagger auto attack or increase the number of enemies for all skills to be 5 people. Then I can use dagger for 1-2 enemies and greatsword for more enemies
2. I always jump past my target for Reaper Shroud 2. Can the skill stop when you reach your target similar to fire greatsword 4 on ele? I am missing a done of damage jumping past my enemy all the time

Guardian Appears as Dragonhunter in Fractals

The screenshot says it all. My buddy died a lot because he didn’t have enough AR. I am not sure what he did that eventually triggered one of the dragonhunter’s visual effects, but the screenshot does speak for itself. He is running a guardian. You can see the blue beam coming from his hand to the boss. It remained there all the time once it happened no matter what he did.

Thought it was more cool than fixable, but would post anyways.

As seen in the screenshot, the default view of the character I do for a key run (Human male/female) has her head cut off. This has been the norm since the main patch on the 19th. It appears the default zoom is different from what it used to be.

As a bonus bug, the 2nd screenshot shows the text “Automatic Screenshot Attached” extends too far and overlaps the submit button.

In no way should the portal drop be guaranteed and then select from a pool of people. Dry Top has been very active for several days now which is allowing me to do the Ambrite collection while I farmed 21 hours till I got the portal. Once people get the portal, the odds of them to leave the map is really high. I much prefer the only randomness being the drop which keeps the map active for longer and more people in the game overall.

They said on the stream that everything will be unlocked in sPvP. So think the only concern here is WvW. They really havent announced all the WvW changes yet for HoT, so maybe builds will work more like sPvP in the future for WvW rather than the PvE overlap that exists today.

I agree with a comment the OP made, Conquest builds do not work. Please keep Stronghold in a separate queue.
I run minion necro in conquest cause I like using that to tank points vice the power/lich necro that is meta there. Minions were an epic fail in stronghold. I switched to the power well and found it really effective.
I also play the shoutbow warrior in conquest, but found it much less effective than a hammer-axe/mace warrior because of the interrupt ability. Other than door defense, there is very little defending occuring in this mode. There is an enormous amount of channeling. The ability to interrupt hero channels is so important and I couldnt do that on my conquest build.

Without build templates, I think there is going to either be a lot of complaining or people will quickly drop out of playing PvP because they cant play the game mode they want.

This game mode was infinitely better for me running a build geared toward the mechanics of Stronghold rather than my conquest builds.

I learned from some guildies this past weekend that you can get the rewards for all AC paths in a single run when choosing path 3. As someone who is looking for more challenging dungeon content I want to keep running this as it spawns the path 1 and path 3 bosses together. The double rewards are nice too. Before I keep trying to run the dungeon this way, I would like to know if this is an exploit or not?

I can confirm that the guild build queue is messed up. We can only build one buff at a time even though our guild is fully open.

I think I figured this out. I plugged in a USB wireless device into my desktop and connected to my Verizon wireless hotspot, and everything worked great. I think Comcast must be throttling the Anet update server because of all the traffic it generates on patch day. This happened to me on the last Living Story patch along with a lot of other people using Comcast.

I am unable to update as well. Never goes above 30kbps. I did a speedtest on my internet and it hit 60Mbps. I can access everything except guild wars 2.

I tried running -repair, and it couldn’t connect to the Anet servers.
I tried moving GW2.exe to a different directory and it never got to the point where it would download a new .dat file after 2 min.

I am on Comcast internet. I had nearly this exact same issue when the last story patch came out at the beginning of December.

I am having the same issue as the last couple folks and got home from work about 2 hours ago. Finally got the main patch about 10 min before the next patch hit. I have never had a download issue before, ever. Did try the dns flush.

I too am on Comcast, but in the Detroit, Michigan area.

This happened to me yesterday and is a direct result of the patch last night. I was mystic forging greens from the TP and then throwing rares in my bank. Midway the patch hit. as soon as I got back in game I was unable to double click to move the item to my personal bank. I was on my Guardian trying to deposit rare staffs. Not sure if that info matters or not.

Would it be possible to remove the confirmation when canceling a buy order? Under the old TP it was so easy to cancel a mass amount of buy orders when someone overbids you in order to get your funds back to go and overbid them. Now it takes double the amounting of clicking to raise a buy order price.

I have not one, but two “Royal Signet of Doric (Infused)” and neither of these infused ascended rings give me credit for the Royal Signet of Doric in the treasure hunter collection. Please consider allowing the (Infused) versons of ascended rings and back items to count for any of the collections which require ascended rings or back items.

I want to add that I value all of the “red posts” I have seen on these forums since Gamescom. It is nice to see more of the community be acknowledged these days.

With the feature patch announcement today I am concluding key runs will be far more time intensive than the 15 minutes they are today. Was there an economic intent with the feature patch to make the items from the Black Lion Chests more valuable/desireable with this change?

What led to the decision for the silver fed salvage-o-matic cost to use to be more than the kits they replace on top of the gem cost? This is a different approach than the copper fed salavage-o-matic which are cheaper to use than their salvage kit counterpart.

I have been doing the personal story the last couple days on a new character and i have been noticing that the green star on the map has not been updating correctly at all to show the location where I should be going. Should I file those things as a bug report in game when I see them or on the forums? It was not this bad/buggy when I went through the game the first time.

None of the problems started until I got into the quests which lead to choosing an order between story level 20 & 30 and were largely isolated to Kessex Hills. I am doing the human storyline and chose Whisperer storyline when available and Vigil otherwise.

How often does a tied match happen in sPvP? We were in team queue last night on Foefire and we had 2 points and then enemy had 1 and the score was 490 to 495. over the next 10 seconds no one was killed and the match ticked down to an even match.

By the way, 500-500 gives both teams the win.

Regarding the unidentified dyes players will recieve via the in-game mail system for duplicate dyes players have equipped, will those unidentified dyes be usable for crafting the legendary gift or will they be the account bound unidentified dyes (PvP) that were only useful for opening to get a random dye?

The endless tonic will grant the appearance of the clothing it replaced. (along with some appropriate complimentary pieces so you’re not naked). They are new tonics, not existing ones.

Only one tonic can be used at one time.

There will be no town-clothes swap any more.. so you won’t be switching to naked.

I have read both blog posts on season 2 of WvW with the Swiss Tournament for matchups and am a little confused. For US servers, are only the top 9 servers overall getting tickets? Or, are there still leagues this go around? If there are leagues still, do you play other servers within your league or if you score high or low enough you will play servers in other leagues? If there are still leagues, are the leagues broken out the same way as season 1 (rank 1-6, 7-15, 16-24)?

This is not working when filtering the leaderboard by your guild when your guild is large. It works fine for my 10 people and less guilds, but gives an internal server error for my guild of 300+ people.

Anet does something on their end to jump start this. Hopefully they can do that again!

Marionnette Lag/Disconnects Ruining Fight

On Yak’s Bend the last 2-3 days, there has been something technically going wrong on the Lornar’s pass server during the Marionnette fight. Everyone on the map seems to disconnect at some point and many many people do not get credit for the fight even when we won last night.

Here’s what happens:
1. Get on the main map (and overflow as well for all I have seen)
2. You start running around and notice that your text in map chat isn’t going through, or your skills don’t activate but you have an infinite amount of dodges and can interact with NPCs, or everyone on your map stops moving except for you. You usually disconnect within 30-120 seconds after this. It is most frustrating when everyone is still moving and your skills just stop working but you can see the fight and everything going on.
3. You read about the endless amount of comments in map chat about the folks who have disconnected and are logging back in to do the fight, but don’t receive any credit towards the daily or the end chest if you win.

I don’t know what happened, but this has become an enormous problem that is sucking the fun out of a fight that I find very enjoyable and rewarding.

Are there confirmed problems officially?

The disconnects and issues like this don’t happen when Legendary Weapons leads the world boss zerg immediately after this fight on Yak’s bend.

You are talking about the one on Malchor’s Leap by the statue with all the elder wood, or is it all veteran risen subjugators? I have run into this issue as well in the one spot I frequent to harvest wood.

Mesmer Moa vs. Minion Necro a little much

The minions just disappear and do not turn into poison clouds as traited. It is more like I “unequipped” them when I am transformed. Unlike spirits, minion skills do not activate when they die.

The Mesmer is often invisible when I get moa’d which is good play if you ask me.

I figured this was all related to the bug mentioned a long time ago, but wanted to bring it back up for visibility.

If you play a couple of PvP matches you will quickly notice that your minions are only doing what they are supposed to be doing about 30% of the time. They take FOREVER to get to where you are to engage the enemy even when you weren’t in combat and sometimes they just flat out stop and stand there and never arrive. Even activating their special skills does not get them to reengage after their skill has been used. This is very frustrating when the ability of the minions to siphon health and engage in combat is what make the build work and fun. I am not sure if this a recent issue, but it didn’t seem to be a problem a couple weeks ago. Seems to have only materialized for me after the last patch.

Whenever a minion necro goes up against a Mesmer I have been the unpleasant victim of being moa’d which is tough, but what makes it even worse is all 6 of my minions instantly vanish giving the Mesmer a HUGE advantage against my build. I have noticed that Mesmer clones do not shatter when a Mesmer is Moa’d and I also notice that rangers are able to retain their pet. Is there a reason why Necro’s are punished more when this skill hits than other classes?

I have been playing a lot of sPvP lately and I have been noticing a couple things that are frustrating for me and I am trying to figure out if they are by design or if the game is bugged. I have had several cases where my minion pets just don’t attack. I was working my way to the keep lord yesterday and I engaged a ranger before I got there. I noticed while I was attacking the ranger that my pets didn’t engage at all. I would activate my utility skills or elite knockdown and they would do their special move and then not engage after that. This doesn’t always happen, but I notice it a ton more when I try to push with my minion build than when I bunker home.

Additionally, with that same ranger fight and many others, I notice that the #2 skill in the down state sometimes doesn’t apply fear to the correct player. I was using the #1 skill on the ranger but when I hit #2 to fear him, his pet got feared when the ranger was the target the entire time and had no stability!?!

Is there something I am doing wrong?

Win/loss only. If you have any thoughts on how you would like to see it done, feel free to share.

I have been playing a bit of both team and solo queue and I am kind of thinking the rating needs to go beyond win/lose but that the formula will likely be different between the queue type and eventually the game type.
For solo queue, I believe that finding a way to measure skill is needed. My idea for this is tracking kill/death ratio and tracking unique skill utilization including successful dodges and blocks. If a player is running into a 1v2 situation at the far point and always dies, but the team still wins, it is likely they have low skill and I believe their rating should go down. That person is continuously giving an easy 5 points to the opposition. They would have a low kill to death ratio.
For fighting skill, I see some players coming in not knowing how to use their builds and just spam 1 and their heal skill but their timing is off. For example, I play necro and have been using dagger/dagger; if when I use dagger 4 and it transfers conditions from me to the enemy it shows more skill than me just going down through every skill as they come off cooldown. Not sure if Anet can track how successful each skill is, but someone who knows their build and wins the match should get more rank than someone who wins the match and spammed 1-5 off of cooldown and didnt use their elites or utility skills.
For team match, win/lose may be good enough because really what is being measured is the effectiveness of the team rather than the individual. An individual on one team may shine, but on another team drag the team down depending on the team’s build synergy.

GameVox voice chat overlay crashes GW2

My guild is making a transition to start using GameVox for our voice chat software instead of TS3. We have noticed that GW2 will crash 100% of the time if GameVox is open with the overlay enabled before starting up GW2. However, we can run GW2 first and then get GameVox up and going and it seems to work okay.

There have probably been a few crash reports coming in from this error as it happens for all members of TOG.

I hadn’t experienced any lag in a while, but last night while doing team and solo queue I was frequently having to hit skills multiple times for them to fire. It was very frustrating to not have things work fluidly. Sometimes I would have to hit the move forward key a couple times to start moving. I have a wired keyboard so it wasnt a battery issue.

Didnt know to capture server data. I will get that next time. The skill lag was on every match for me and others on my team. I am guessing there was a flood of people in WvW trying to finish up their meta and that was likely contributing to the slowdown in sPvP.

Seems like people really enjoy answering questions so I’ll throw out a few more.

How big do you expect a squad to be?
What kind of content is a PvE commander most useful?
Is money a good enough gate for commander tags?

I would expect squads to be large enough to account for the amount of people that run a typical guild puzzle/challenge. For my guild that seems to be around 50 people. That would like sync well with the max number of people I see with a commander in WvW. There can be more people in rare instances, but not usually. 50 likely covers 95% of all cases.

I use my tag a lot in PvE. I use it when there is a boss or mob in which you want folks on a map to find you in order to assist with killing the boss or mob to get awards and/or make progress (like in the nightmare tower). Additionally, we always use 1-3 commanders for our weekly guild missions depending on how many groups we need. For example, on the Quagaan escort mission we use 4 commanders and split into 4 squads so everyone knows who to follow when those Quagaans take erratic and suicidal paths to their destination.

Gold kept me from getting a tag for 10 months until I cracked the code on how to make some easy money on the TP from other players. I wanted to be a commander for a long time before that so I found gold to be an excellent gate for me personally. Our guild did donate money to some players to get tags early on, but we had a lot of them leave and so the next few that stepped up were self funded.

Here are some questions I’ve been wondering about.

How often do people actually join squads and use the features that are there? (4 different way point markers, /supplyinfo). What would make you join squads more?

How much is spies a problem with commander system?

Should the commander icon be shown above the commanders head to the commander?

Should we allow a WvW upgrade to see enemy commanders (not on the map just on screen) ?

People do not join squads all that often. It just takes too long to do. This means that the commander specific markers are not used today. It isn’t that they aren’t useful; they aren’t used because it is too hard to manage squads. I posted earlier what would make joining squads easier/better.

I use /supplyinfo all the time. I don’t want to throw down more siege than the group can build who is with me.

I have not found spies to be a problem…at least not enough of one that I am bothered. It does happen though.

I think I would like the icon above my head. I can see when someone in my party has targeted me. I think it would be fine for the same type of thing to happen with the commander tag. It would remind me that I have it on when maybe I would prefer it off.

I don’t think seeing the enemy commander on screen really buys a player much. You know when you are fighting a zerg and there typically is a commander in there. Most commanders are not running small tactical groups, but even if they were having known you killed a commander does not mean anything as the game treats it the same as a normal player kill.

Please do a long term fix and announce it for the community to get excited about it and can take comfort in knowing a good change is coming. It seems there are a lot of things players are in agreement here that would make things better.

It would be really nice to at a minimum to add the color feature now and changing the radius on the supply check to be larger.

I personally do not like the idea of ranking commanders. I believe the community already does that to some extent on their own. An environment needs to exist where anyone can learn and become a commander without an enormous barrier. I know for me, if I don’t like the commander I will make note of their character name and not follow them next time I see them. People come and go from the game all the time, so there needs to be a way for new people to come in to the fray to see if they enjoy commanding or not.

I have a commander tag and use it regularly out in WvW and for leading guild missions and scarlet invasions in PvE.

It would be great to have the option to change the color of the tag. This makes it very easy on both the main map and minimap to spot the commander you are looking for when there is more than 1 commander on the map. I have not seen more than 4 commanders in WvW on a single map usually and in PvE I typically see about that when doing invasions. Having 4-6 colors to choose from would be sufficient I believe and add a ton of utility.

In setting up a WvW guild run it is sometime burdensome for members to find my character in the group so they can click on me and then add to my squad. It would be great if like a party invite, commanders could easily select the people on screen and add them to their squad. The commanders seem to be more adept at the UI than the people running with them. I would be fine if some of the squad creation burden was transfered to the commander themself.

In terms of seeing the people around and amount of supply they carry, it would be beneficial to me if there was an optional UI widget where I could see the number of players in a 1200-1500 radius and the amount of supply they have and the UI would update in real time as people come in and out of the commander’s range and as supply is spent. This would make stacking supply checks a thing of the past.

Commander waypoints would be more useful if everyone on the map could see them even if they arent in the commander’s squad. It can still work that if you join a squad that you can only see the commander for whose squad you are in and only their waypoint. Right now I dont use waypoints as it takes too long to add people to your squad and there is relitively little value from having people in your squad right now as things are today.

Lastly, it would be nice to optionally see the people who are members your squad in a simple party UI type view (just by name and profession and not conditions/boons) where the commander and squad can see all the location dots on the main and mini-map. This would also give the commander the ability to kick people from their squad as well. This would be most help in the PvE type events where we are trying to guide guild members around to where we are at for bounties, but cant see where they are to help them. Right now when this happens the commander/leader drops party and picks up the newer player in their party to help and then we have to get everyone back into their former parties when everyone gets to the same location.

I play GW2 often on a mobile connection. I havent had any issues with using the wifi hotspot on my Verizon Droid4 to allow my laptop to connect when I am not at home. Some carriers are likely better than others.
