I have no desire to hijack [RQ]’s thread with this pointless debate. While I understand the members of FA might be upset at losing a valuable guild; they have made their choice and the important thing now is that they find a new server they can call home.

Well sure I am upset, but these threads seem to go off in tangents anyway. By now BG, JQ, SoR, SoS, TC, CD, IoJ, SBI and representatives from top European servers have all messaged the OP. Moreover, Novus is one of the best known commanders in FA and all of tier 2, and I am sure he has been contacted by other servers in the past and already knows which servers are on top of his list.

If RQ leaves FA it will be a huge loss, and we will lose a good guild. None of us want RQ to leave, but that’s how this game is. SoS knows that better than anyone.

Also, I would have made this comment in the SoS recruitment threat, but that would take away from your recruitment efforts. Outside of that, this seemed as good of a forum as any.

Really? The unofficial Oceanic Server? I mean no disrespect to you, or SoS, or your guilds, but you if you are the unofficial Oceanic Server, then Maguuma is the unofficial NA server.

The only time SoS is ahead of FA in PPT is between 2AM and 4AM server time, on some days. Check our recent match ups. We have had 3 or 4 since Anet took away tiers.

Anyway, like I said. I mean no disrespect, but it bothers me when I read that “unofficial Oceanic Server” thing. You can’t claim that title while JQ, BG, and TC are still around.

There has recently been a thread showing an Anet Dev interfering with a GvG, and I couldn’t help but notice the attitude some people have towards GvG. If you would like to read about what happened, refer to the link below, but this post is not about that. This post is to inform players about the guilds who enjoy GvG.

Most people are pretty indifferent about GvG from what I have observed, but there are people who are totally against it. Their complaint is that GvGs attract people to the map who are not contributing, defending, sieging, or getting PPT. Furthermore, I believe that the majority of WvW guilds are not opposed to GvG in its current form, and understand that it is a way for guilds to challenge themselves and keep the game interesting.

Now lets consider guilds that GvG in WvW. Guilds who GvG consider themselves World v World guilds, or at least WvW oriented.

These WorldvWorld guilds that GvG are the same guilds that log on either several times a week, or even every freaking day for several hours to defend, siege, or get PPT. These are the guilds who quite honestly, probably contribute to the server ranking a lot more than most of you. These are the guilds that show up, and made the commitment to defend keeps and towers even if they do not really want to. They show up even if they know their servers may loose at the end of the week by 50k+ points and that their effort is, at the end of the week, is meaningless.

These WorldvWorld guilds that GvG are the same guilds who build a server community. There is not such thing as a PvE community outside of your own guild. There are literally dozens of PvE guilds in every server, and nobody cares about them. They could leave the server, disband, quit the game, and nobody would notice. That is not the case with WvW guilds, especially in mid ranked and low ranked servers. Players know each other, know commanders, know guilds leaders, and know guilds. Server pride comes from WvW guilds, and the GvG scene helps build a stronger server community. Even if your server is loosing match ups against higher ranked servers with more coverage, we take pride in knowing that our guilds can go toe to toe with guilds from other servers, and that if it wasn’t for lack of coverage the score would be much closer. WvW guilds take pride in this, and support each other in this aspect. In fact, one of the most active threats in this website is the unofficial GvG thread, linked below.

Meanwhile, the casual player who is not in a WvW dedicated guild, can simply choose not to play WvW when their server is loosing, and only show up when they face a server they know their home server can beat up on. These are often the same players who complain about GvGs, and argue that they are not contributing to the server or PPT.

So on behalf of people who enjoy GvG, please be respectful to players who want to take a couple of hours out of the week from defending PPT, which is meaningless in itself, to enjoy the game in the manner they want to. If you see players near the windmill, and they ask you not to interfere, be respectful. And by all means stay and watch. You might like what you see.

The condition removal effect of Soldier Runes on Guardians and Warriors affect those who are affected by shouts. With rangers however, only the player and the pet are affected by shouts. Do Soldier Runes on Rangers affect only the player and pet, or does it affect allies near the player as well?

uA – unreal Aussies is a pvx focused guild on FA definitely worth a chat to those guys.

I though the same thing. [uA] of Fort Aspenwood has some hardcore PvE’ers (level 50+ fotm guys), and they have a very decent presence in WvW. Very diverse guild. They even have role players.

But other than FA, I would consider JQ. They have a lot of SEA players, so if you just want a ton of people to play with, talk to some of their guilds as well.

I haven’t faced enough mid tier servers, so I can’t really make recommendations about them.

So much of this post is ridiculous. Every round, I told you to call time. It wasn’t until the last few rounds that we had any delay what so ever. You guys got your panties up in a twist because 2 up levels from guild [LOCO] would run in and die. being lil rally bots for you, which you should of been grateful. So when they came around I gave you the respect of informing you they were here so you could clean them up. We did have one round where a guy rage quit. He was a fill-in because you were so dead set on 20v20. We don’t have many members that are into GvGs and its hard to find 15 people not to mention 20, which I told you. So per YOUR request of us to find fill-ins we had some delays. I am all for official 15v15 but im not going to do an official and have to scrounge for players that have never participated in a GvG. The round total that night was 4-4 in the end. The whole time FA players were trolling us in between rounds. Running over, spamming emotes, putting us in combat, attacking us when we try to res players after the round. Then it looked like HOPE was a little stacked during the round so I tried to do a random player count, where instead of spreading out so I can get my count they all start attacking me and have their players run in from the sideline… so much for that accurate count. Ive never seen so much shinanigans during a GvG before. Was like being in a soap opera.

It started when your guys started stomping our guys, which continued until the end of the GvG. On our end, HOPE was respectful through out the GvG, and I didn’t see anybody attacking your players while they were rezzing your guys. If that happened that was unintentional.

And if I remember correctly, on the second round there may have been an issue on your end.

Those between round breaks consisted of us telling Drigan to cancel the GvG because we were so bored of waiting. We were ready to move to the next round at the end of each round. You are right about one thing, that whole evening was a bunch of shinanigans.

Moreover, you’re telling me that RE, one of the largest guilds in Tarnished Coast, does not have 20 people who like to GvG? A GvG is nothing more than an open field fight with even numbers, and you can’t get 20 people on your guild to be interested in that? HOPE barely fields 20 people every night, so that makes no sense to me.

All drama aside, HOPE is looking for 20 v 20 GvG.

RE, in our next GvG let’s agree that if you are not ready within 2 minutes you forfeit the round. That last GvG took almost 2 hours. Waste of time if you ask me.

SBI already got 5 DR guilds for NA. Maguuma has NA but needs Oceanic/SEA. NA could use the NA if SE is up to the challenge. We have great oceanic and couple SEA guilds.

I think you meant SoS could use NA. And I agree. SoS has enough oceanic and SEA to compete with anybody below T2. A little more NA could really help SoS.

Maguuma already has a good amount of NA. In fact, Maguuma probably has the most NA in T3 and below.

You guys should seriously consider SoS. They need the coverage, and you would have a nice challenge facing servers as high as T2.

I only see the guys from [Ark] complaining about numbers, which is why I asked if you are new transfers in the first place. That’s how it is in T1-3.

By the way, you guys are really annoying to fight. Every time we got one of you down, you always seemed to rally. It was entertaining for a while.

Then I suggest Maguuma or SoS I can face you guys.

Here is the deal. Suck it up. Not everybody can have a legendary. If every person could afford to get a legendary, they would no longer be unique or a desirable item. It took me 8 months to craft mine after I decided to get one. I just got it a couple of weeks ago. It’s a long process.

The market is controlled by a few guys who were able to get the precursors back when they were cheap, and there is nothing Anet can do about other than just giving precursors away. All this QQing wont help you find/buy a precursor.

Can you quote the poster who said TC only zergs against lower ranked servers for practice? If this was actually said it sounds like you were being trolled, successfully too it would seem. Every server zergs, it’s the nature of the game.

It appears to me you have a chip on your shoulder about TC but don’t worry, I will still recommend FA as a good server to consider transferring too to anyone or any guild looking for a T2 server. Personally, I enjoy fighting FA when you field decent numbers.

Doesn’t seem like a troll post to me. My point is, while FA has its fair shares of QQing, its great when TC claims to be outnumbered. Nothing wrong with zergs, and hell, FA does it too- I’ve seen it. But I just love it when TC nerds make these excuses. Which is why I think people from other servers who enjoys fighting TC and enjoys making nerds make excuses on the forums, consider FA.

I’ll just leave this here for the fine folks who enjoy fighting TC as much as FA does.

I respect the guilds of TC, and for the most part their members keep it classy. But QQ’ing that an “FA zerg of 70+” wiped your lowly guild group of “25” and that the other guys “were just following” and they are the reason you got wiped just brings a smile to my face.

Dear JQ,
The best part about this thread is that your players don’t realize that Maguuma calls out every server or guild they face for “hiding” whether they get completely wiped or they win an open field fight. If they win, you suck; if you win, they were outnumbered 2v1. Some in FA do the same, but Mag has especially mastered this. Its that #Magswag they have over there.
And regarding the “excellent” open field fighters Mag has, it’s simply different strategies between servers and tiers. FA and JQ are a good matchup because we play more or less the same. We have a lot of toughness because we run larger groups. It’s the only way we can compete with the giant blobs of the bigger servers. In FA we generally run with groups of 25-40, at least during NA prime, and take on the larger servers that outnumber us by a dozen or more players (atm that’s you JQ, you bring out your map zergs sometimes). I believe that is the same case with JQ, and possibly even DB during NA prime against BG or TC. Maguuma, and lower tier servers however, are used to facing approximately even numbers. This means they can focus on damage. This also means that with even numbers, they will win often because they have more burst, wiping our bad players, and the only thing the ones that survive can do is save their stacks and go to a tower to defend.

Not bragging. Simply stating a fact. I saw a few posts of people saying Maguuma had highest PPT, implying they outperformed FA and JQ. That is simply not true. And that is not to say FA outperformed JQ or Mag either. FA simply locked down our stuff for several hours last night.

Wait Wait Wait What is all this talk about Maguuma having highest PPT on reset night? Mag had highest PPT for about an hour, then FA had highest PPT the rest of the night with JQ just a few ticks behind.

I would just like to say that regardless of who ever gets second, FA or DB, this was a great match up. We kept it classy on the forums for the most part, which is always good. FA does not have the coverage to compete with the bigger servers, but it was great to have JQ keeping DB in check during our coverage gaps, allowing us to stay competitive. And of course, I would like to give a shout-out to our server mates that take care of our BLs when North Americans sleep. You guys are awesome. I’ll just leave this here:

Never wanted a Legendary, but I got the precursor off a drop and decided “hey, if I don’t do this I will regret it.”

Update: I am soo close I can almost lick it! All I need now are some T6 mats and ectos! I calculated that if I buy everything off the TP, I am only ~90gold away from finishing.

Finished it! Took me about 5 months, not counting the 5 months of t6 mats gathering before I got the precursor. And I am proud to say that I got the mats by spending 90% of my time in WvW, not CoF. I got another precursor last week, sold it, and was able to finish the Juggernaut faster. And tonight, I got another. Here we go again!

Great reset everybody. Especially FA! I know we are vastly outnumbered while us North Americans sleep, but hopefully DB and JQ will not dominate one another, and split the points. That should keep a closer match up.

Oh man. FA has to step it up! Those pictures are just some of the ones I took recently since this is a great threat and nobody has started it yet. Don’t worry, I will get better pictures. There were 50+ golems in EBG spawn today, but I forgot to get a picture. By the way, none of those are my golems. =P

Let’s keep this going! This is a fun threat.

Here in Fort-Aspenwood, we love to golem rush things, especially in EBG (just TC how many times we golem rush SMC a day). We also very patient people who keep refreshing our golems until we have enough people to golem rush something. Best part of all, the golems are commonly placed in awesome, and perfect formation, and I would like to share some of these with you.

Don’t misunderstand. I was not calling you guys out. We literally were standing outside SMC in a relatively neutral zone waving and beckoning for a few minutes while 30 TC were watching. I just wanted you guys to come out. SoS did, and they wiped us a few times. I found out most people were not on coms, so we hopped map.
