…I suppose in hindsight that could have been a problem for people that didn’t start checking three hours early and lost out on some desired names as a result. But I’ve never seen a single complaint along those lines.

This is probably because they had an excellent system in place for reserving a character name from gw1. I had Shoot N Loot saved prior to launch and though I did not notice the early access for an hour after it began, I got my name.

Gosh I remember my first (many) attempts at Fire Elemental and also the Metrica Province jumping puzzle. Both gave me the impression that the game was going to be very difficult indeed. That JP is still one of my favorites tbh.

So as an Asuran researcher for potentially conscious altering substances, is it technically illegal to burn the pale tree…

I understand what you are saying for sure. Rifle would actually make sense on a thief as a “sniper” specialization, and Predator would match Incinerator so nicely.

As a ranger, I also would have preferred rifle (though I guess I may love staff, but i doubt it). Kinda hard for me to get excited about druid when my mesmer gets Chronomancer though….

Aren’t mesmers one of the best boon stripping classes in the game also? Just didn’t see that mentioned and the sword auto attack strips boons just from that.

It’s just strange to me because it feels like the meta isn’t positive where mesmers are concerned. I frequently see no necros/rangers listed, but sometimes feel unwelcome on a mesmer as well (and other times seem perfectly welcome)…. which is confusing as all hell.

Our three year birthdays are coming up very soon (can’t remember if it was 8 or 9 days away and am at work so i couldn’t tell you which)!

Anyone else as excited about this as I am? Do we have any confirmed “presents”? Anyone have any fun speculation?

Another good reason to keep some gems (or gold that can be converted to gems) on hand is that sometimes they do very short duration sales on items (such as the wings, which are usually only available for 24 hours at a time), and its better to not have to scramble.

I’ve also purchased at least 4 of the total makeover kits, because the unique hairstyles/faces/eyes/etc on Asura (ASURA MASTAH RACE) are superb. My mesmer has flame red asura dreads. xD

Since I did not notice anyone addressing stats on gear, allow me to try:

Power: Power increases all direct damage inflicted by the character.

Precision: Precision increases critical hit chance.

Toughness: Toughness decreases the amount of incoming damage suffered by the character.

Vitality: Vitality increases maximum health.

Condition Damage: Condition Damage improves the damage done by the conditions bleeding, burning, confusion, poison, and torment.

Condition Duration: Condition Duration improves the duration of all conditions inflicted by the character.

Ferocity: Ferocity improves the damage multiplier on critical strikes.

Healing Power: Healing Power improves all outgoing heals that your character does, including self heals.

Hopefully I’m not oversimplifying this, if so I’m sure someone will correct me.

The first raid in Wildstar (Genetic Archives) has this mechanic exactly as it appears in the bug for some of the trash mobs. They would come in pairs and you would have to kill them at precisely the same time or else they would revive (with an enrage mechanic). I always thought it was a really fun mechanic for trash mobs, and would definitely be fun here too!

I’m certainly not at the upper echelons of sPvP elo wise, but I’ve had a huge amount of fun in my matches playing a psuedo-melee mesmer mixing melee sword/torch with ranged GS. For utilities I grab distortion, decoy, and veil (as well as group stealth for my elite) specifically so I can sword 3 in, spam 1 combo to strip boons if possible, and 2— followed by a safe stealth distortion escape and the switch to gs for ranged burst.

As a ranger main (until very recently), I just made the switch to a PU shatter mesmer (because I had a lvl 80 one from sPvP tomes that I hadn’t been playing). I’ve mostly only participated in small scale wvw and roaming, but for that I’m not looking back. I’ve been told that zergs can be a rough spot, but I just find the stealth to be too handy to go back to my Ranger.

PS: sPvP is amazingly fun on a power shatter PU mesmer in comparison (though part of that may just be me growing tired of playing the same thing for quite some time).

It happened when I linked my gw1 and gw2 accounts initially. I ended up going through support and changing it with them, but some how it reverted during the time I had quit so now I’m stuck with it again.

Oo thanks! Yeah on the user name after I joined the guild i’ve been playing with I was messaged by 2 officers trying to be sure I was a person rather than a bot. They eventually took to calling me “serial guy” lol.

Howdy all, I’m newly returned to the Mesmer class.

(Background: Played it til about 40 after launch, switched to ranger, played it to 80 and for 5-6 months. Then quit the game, came back in May and have been playing ranger, but got Mesmer to 80 from pvp tomes o nthe side).

So far I’ve been playing a PU power based shatter build and it is a ton of fun— just finished gearing my Mesmer in exotics/my rangers ascended berserker jewelry. I’m doing well with the GS in pvp, but sword/torch is taking some getting used to.

Enough about me, just wanted to say “Hi!” mostly and also request any tips for a new mesmer (so far though, I’m addicted to having stealth— feels much less squishy than ranger because of it). At this point I’ve had such a fun time playing with the illusions, I’m seriously considering making my mesmer my main over my ranger for now.

Yeah… lets talk about display names. I had mine fixed via ticket before I quit the game shortly after launch. I’ve since come back and become addicted once more, but i’m not even bothering with my display name again because it reverted to my old key again (not my gw2 cdkey dont worry). My guildies have begun lovingly referring to me as “cdkey” or “serialguy”
