I wonder if those same people stayed on the server, or bailed. Either way, Dehare/Nalare/Shaka Zulu said it best. The so called “community” of Kaineng is right now a 15-man group. And that’s because we’re in weekly meetings. We talk on Teamspeak, we are on WvW … we’re trying to include everyone, and yet some people are against it … why? What have they got to lose?

What I’m about to say is not a slam or directed against the OP, it’s a message to ALL Kaineng who feel excluded or somehow ashamed of the server.

We can be huggy huggy, we congratulate each other when we capture something after a long fight. We say great job to ALL members, not just to a specific Guild. But there are those within the server who don’ t want to be part of that, and yet they seem to see some problem and post about it online. Why rant for all the other servers to see? Because you refused to make friends within the server you’re on, so you think no one will listen to you? We’re here to listen. We’re here to communicate. This is a two way road, we’re opening our arms, and you’re pushing us away. We’re working on creating a community and have a website to keep you updated on progress and yet you refuse to join. We, the ones who are dedicated to strengthening Kaineng have done what we can on our end … your turn …

No that’s understandable. But it is irritating to me too, so I created one with a solid headline and a message that’s straight to the point. I find the people who’ve been replying to those messages in previous threads really HAD NO CLUE about the server website. It was … odd and frustrating all at once. I find that the threads created didn’t say KAINENG WEBSITE EXISTS, rather it just said “Kaineng has problems…” and the next person that replies in that thread says “why not post it in the server forums?”. All in all, the OP’s message is heard, but the important information in between is lost. I bet you 2 Gold that a thread regarding the lack community on Kaineng will pop up in a while, and another 2 gold that that person is not a member of Kaineng United.

Kaineng, prior to the inbound transfers in Tier 8 has always been a PvE server. Those that did WvW were the more dedicated ones, whereas most didn’t like the whole “busy” environment that WvW offered, and they didn’t posses the tenacity or determination required to get stomped by Devona’s Rest, and get back up again to keep fighting.

When WM flushed in with their fans, they propelled the WHOLE server up through the tiers, and for once in their lives the native population of Kaineng knew whakitten was like to roflestomp lower population tier servers. Unfortunately it also gave them a false impression that fighting in WvW will always be that “easy” and fun. Therefore as a consequence very little of the natives bothered to train and learn higher tier strategies which left us in our current predicament. Much like in Tier 8, those who didn’t possess the tenacity and determination to keep rallying back up do nothing but look lost, stray from Commander’s and just altogether look clueless when moving.

We’ve recently launched a training program for the whole server called Kaineng Academy. It’s designed to train new members (both in game and wvw) combat strategies, WvW basics, and diminutive fundamentals.

You are right, 60% are interested, and we’re trying to capture that 60% and help them become better players if they’re not already considered “Elite”. The 30% needs to be heard so we can better understand their concerns. And the remaining 10% needs to be trained in Kaineng Academy.

I apologize for the repetitiveness of the thread. That was not my intention. However, using this GW2 is best way to capture players of Kaineng in all Timezones (assuming they visit this site). I just don’t wanna see another “Kaineng lack blah blah blah” when that person is in the dark of what’s happening in the background. We hold weekly reset meetings. The information is passed down through the guilds. We invite players to join on Teamspeak. We invite players on Mapchat to join Kaineng United and become a helpful member of the community. This Official forum should’ve been the first step to announcing that, however, it’s become the last.

It is the way the new teamspeak server is, and is not, being used that causes me concern. Those guilds who use it typically don’t use the BL channels but instead shut themselves in their guild channels.

Please allow me to clarify and shed some light on these points. As it stands we have 3 Guilds who “shut themselves in their guild channels”. One of them actually, is mine. The first reason is this: during the slow hours in Toronto time since a few of my members and I live in close proximity, we use our Guild channel. The reason for this is because we as a Guild DO NOT have our own TS server. Therefore the Kaineng server is our only Teamspeak. That means we’re either in a dungeon, doing different PvE and just talking amongst ourselves. Zepheris Chronology, the Guild I started back in September is a group designed for new players to be trained by advanced members. Therefore most of our Teamspeak chatter circles around builds, which dungeons to spam, which sigils/runes are best for a specific build/character.
The second reason is: The other 2 notable Guilds that are normally stuck in their own channels either prefer to speak their own native language, or know/speak little to no English whatsoever, so they co-ordinate much more quickly as a havoc squad. This is most noticeable during Reset nights when the Border channels are extremely busy with comm-chatter from Commanders. The smaller Guilds prefer to communicate clearly on their own channels, rather than flooding the channel and confusing the main squad (especially if the message is not in English).

This is actually only the second time I’ve heard RE using a different channel due to spies. During Karaoke Thursdays, the mapchat is spammed with the RE TS channel so that other members can join in on the Naked Zerg runs. Information you were given regarding the reasons may be a bit outdated.

The basic reason is this: When War Machine abruptly pulled the plug without prior notice on the Kaineng Server TS, it sent a lot of members into panic mode, especially since a lot of people were using the TS when it went offline. One of the RE members used their own money to fund and start an RE channel. One of the reasons being that because it is under RE control, it will not be removed without prior notice to its own members. However, a few hours later, the Server channel which we are now using went online and was advertised. As respect to the RE member who funded the RE channel ahead of time, RE decided to continue using their own Channel. Much like any other Guilds, they also have their own discussions and listen to music on the server, therefore they’ve chosen to stay there. During primetime when it gets busy for us, several, if not MOST/ALL of RE use the public channel. The non-members are free to ask RE for their Channel address to join, or simply follow them on the map. All-in-all, there is simplicity and security in using a channel which you control, and once again, during their prime, there are several Members of RE in the public channel.

Personally for me I add enemies to party to say positive things about the team, to duel, or ask for their character build. So when they decline it makes me sad.

I have a guildie who fell from the ceiling and landed on his balls so he has more time to play, so happy to see him more often … though I wish it wasn’t under such poor circumstances. I’m allowed to telecommute so I often visit the forums and check out the scores … shhhh..

What constitutes as “fair” exactly? Each server has a dominant time zone in each tier.
I play in NA zone, but we have a huge gap in coverage while I’m at work, I don’t really consider it fair that servers with better EU coverage are taking advantage of that weakness while I’m at work, but that’s the reality of the game and I take comfort in the fact that we’ll be able to catch up when I get home from work and log on with other NA players who just got home from work as well. For some, that’s the ONLY way for them to “catch up” on score so it doesn’t look like they lost by a huge margin even though they’re in 3rd place.

Server A will go after Server B to make sure they stay in 1st place. Meanwhile, Server C will go after Server B to get 2nd place. It’s a competition and you go after the one with the weakest coverage, no matter what in order to max out the PPT in order to maximize the score. I’m not saying that everyone does this, but that is the general sense and strategy behind WvW.

Also if you look at it based on Timezone, everyone is “night capping”. Right about now, Eu is roughly around 1-3 AM, while it’s only 7:30 PM for me. They’re already night capping while I"m still eating dinner :‘(. And their maximum potential cap is 695(i think), and that’s alright, given that while EU is sleeping, I’ll be taking my Borderland back.

Basically, for your solution, I believe you’re trying to maximize the gain for your timezone by using that as a benchmark for other time zones as well, which does not apply since all of us have differing strength in timezones. If you limit the cap from the maximum capacity, I can see a lot of players saying “what’s the point? we can only gain 100PPT for this hour anyway?”. The only solution that players will find in this is to server hop to find where they can create the most impact in PPT, keep in mind, once you cap the PPT for the “slow” and “unfair” hours, that becomes the new MAX PPT for those hours of gameplay, so serious players who like to score high, will find servers where they can find the 100PPT that players are fighting for, rather than aiming for the 695PPT during their slow hours.

Yeah, then why is it that every time I show up at fight club I get ganked by every DARP and DFND there; and when i run into a group that doesnt, none of them can kill me.

And it doesnt stop at fight club, when I am roaming and am spotted I am automatically targeted and most of the time i can either get away or kill them if it was 1v2 — sometimes even 1v3’s

And I take it none of you were there when our group of 10 people wiped out an entire mag zerg at a camp, then 10 mins later again @ a vet. When you guys saw us again your zerg was too scared to approach a small group of 10 people.We dont need to “resort to killing people at fight club”

I’m saying that saying “we don’t/don’t need to do these things” is a bit silly when people are clearly shown doing said things in the series of screenshots in the previous page. But I dunno, maybe they had a good reason, like Maguuma was at their windmill and kept taking south camp.

From what i understand they were at the camp and saw a dead yak at the fight club spot. My guildies said he said “thank you” after we took out the fightclub people. so idk what was going on there…

What had happened was we were trying to start fight club. There were 3 WäR dueling a yak ele, when 2 yaks decided to jump in on a duel for a 1v3 and we were like "nuh uh, that ain’t happenin’’ so we jumped off the ramp on the windmill and were like “we goin to pound town on yo face” I told the ele to stand back because we get all blood lusty and start killing everything sometimes, it just happens you know? So we killed the one and as we were about to spike the 2nd, that’s when you showed up.

It’s like, you know, you see someone you kind of know getting tackled and stuff, you come over beat up the guy and he’s like “thanks man!” and you’re like “who was that?” and he’s like “the cops yo, I just tried to kill one of them and they weren’t having it!”

Hard to join that little fun group at Hero’s Lodge with Guild iLL from Maguuma killing people heading there … -_-

It’s not all roses. Kaineng is losing quite a few NA bodies. What was a really, really good match on reset and weekend has become bleak.

I like Kaineng, but if their population stays at this level, then I would say don’t push yourselves to play longer to stay in t3, because you’d probably fit better in t4. WvW after all is 95% about population and coverage, so just roll with it.

I just wanted to make sure to add one last thing. Last night around 4AM EST. Commander Sano came online and led a fast-paced capture of KBL and other Borderlands. He made sure that we had a fighting chance in the morning to catch up on score. I’d like to acknowledge his dedication to Kaineng.

This has been a wild ride of a match-up. Losing guilds this week has really pushed some Kaineng members to their limit. I’d like to thank those who not only stayed to be part of the backbone of the WvW, but also those who provided necessary support where necessary by scouting, roaming, and upgrading.\

Job well done Kaineng.

To those who’ve doubted the organization and community of Kaineng. I hereby prove you wrong. We are ONE, we are UNITED, and we remain STRONG. We are loyal not only to our server, but also to our COMMANDER’S. We trust them to lead us to victory, their experience is valuable, their knowledge even more so. And that’s why when they jump off the wrong cliff WE ALL jump down the wrong cliff.

Interesting. Who pays them? Everyone? Or the Guild that claims the Tower/Keep? It has to be in bulk, otherwise 12 Silver isn’t really an incentive.

I’d like to thank everyone for their contribution to the thread. Thanks also for your support. As such, Kaineng, is at a point of re-structuring. Most of our attention is focused on administrative and community building efforts. The Guild Leaders and community members of Kaineng have been discussing different ways to create a stronger server.

Some of us already have a strong sense of our current manpower and coverage, though some are still under the impression that Kaineng is a powerhouse. We’re attempting to make it known that although the backbone of Kaineng is still strong, our PUG’s who didn’t know what it was like back in Tier 8 when we faced Devona for 5-6 weeks straight, are feeling demoralized due to the recent mass exodus.

If you are reading this and you’re from Kaineng, I need you to completely understand the following:

We KNOW we’re out-manned, and we KNOW we lack people. These are not the things we Commanders, Guild Leaders, and community members want to see on Mapchat. Don’t give up and say it’s pointless to defend just because you see that. This is nothing. Kaineng is not some beaten dog cowering in a corner. We die, we port, we stack, and we come back and give them hell. This has, and always will be Kaineng’s way of fighting.

Ha, that’s the great thing about video games. People need to stop worrying about dying. Sometimes you need to push forward and die, there’s a reason your Commander’s send you out there. Normally before commanding I announce “we’re a hit squad, that means we’re on a suicide mission while the main zerg attacks.”
