I agree. I think that yes, there are issues coming up, but one night is too soon to tell how the rest of the game will be in 2 to 3 weeks once the hype calms down. I welcome the chance of meeting new players from other servers without having to leave my own server. Yes the queues were inconvenient last night (64 people, 45 minute wait time), but the experience and positive attitude more than made up for it … plus I got to shower and make coffee before gaming.

I trust in Anet’s ability to sort through the things that need to be improved, and I don’t doubt that this change was for the better. It’s true that lower population servers will feel the brunt of it, but change always comes friction. Let’s be patient, wait, and see how it progresses.

True, but I also found it easier to estimate distance in the old maps and PvE that it is in Desert. lol. Before if you see a ledge between the edge of the cliff and the ground, you KNOW you need to stop at the ledge in between and jump again from there to survive. now it’s like “Oo a ledge, jumps, dies, well then”.

It was especially helpful when someone is chasing you and you lead them off a cliff to their death. Now we can’t do that no more :’(

Honestly when they first gave a review of the new Desert Borderlands I automatically assumed it was to replace Eternal Battlegrounds due to its size. I was a bit disappointed to find out later on that that wasn’t the case. I liked the Alpine Borderlands, but it did need a refresh. I miss it, it was easily accessible. It’s been a few weeks now and our Commander’s still from time to time gets lost inside the Air Keep when trying to cap it. I wouldn’t say the Desert Borderland is bad, but it does prolong the process of capping things. I LOVE the new champion Lords though. Adds more diversity to the game and approach to capping.

This is the 3rd thread I’ve come across with people reporting connectivity issues. Error code 42:0:9001:4418 is the one I’m having.

Just checking in. Also having this issue, out of the blue. Everything was working fine last night, I had no issues, and I haven’t changed any firewall or router settings. Not sure what’s going on but for some reason, I can’t login. ANET please look into this.

I knew it. LOL. Your population confused the heck out of me after Reset. I mean, we lost a few Guilds that transferred off but I didn’t think the difference would be this huge in population between us.

Um, well. I mean I got loot bags so I’m not TOO unhappy, but definitely not jumping for joy >_>. After so many Guilds left the server, this week and last week’s matchups are doing nothing for server morale.

I’m pretty sure we’ve all been on that boat more or less so I think you can guess as to how I feel about it. I’ve been doing WvW mostly for Badges so I don’t have much to complain about. I just stand in a camp with a Ballista and pray for the best. The people who WvW competitively however …

Then I go back to wondering what the heck Kaineng is doing up in this match-up.

Kaineng has stood through worse. I was there back in Tier 8 when Devona’s Protocol [PRO] steamrolled us for 6 weeks, and apparently Borlis Pass did the same to us weeks before that.

I stayed for the people and to help out, much like the rest of the people who are still here. We come to WvW, do what we can, and keep up the fight. Kaineng’s pride has always been it’s “Fighting Spirit”, from the days of Commander Darxio, Lionightus, Klazart, Chaster the Scarred etc. It’s not about taking 1st place for me, it’s about watching people I play with on the server get to know each other, become closer, and just having fun trolling the enemy. I’ve had my fill of “taking 1st place” when the bandwagoners came. I think I just mined ores in WvW for a couple of weeks while we ruined match-ups on our way up. I’m glad that now there’s actually something for me to do.

Like most, when the bandwagoners left, I thought “uh oh, we’re forked”, but now I’m seeing other Guilds that were overshadowed in the past rise up and step up to the plate. They’re on Teamspeak just chattering and talking to each other. Not just one or two Guilds taking control, it’s us talking to each other and learning to work together. Field Commander and Militia training are taking place (kudos to Kaineng Academy [KA] for holding a successful training session).

This match-up was a fluke, an idiotic attempt to keep the game “interesting” by its developers. I say Kainites should do what they do best, come to WvW, bring the fight, and just enjoy it. This week will be done before you know it. Check below, score doesn’t mean everything. Our people are out there, still fighting, and we’re holding and capturing grounds. Might be PvDoor, but at least there’s some red out there.

Well I’d say Kaineng has been working hard for a while now, I think we need a bit of a vacation. I’d like to face … :

Knowing the end result, I can pretty much take it easy for a week in WvW.

North American: Core Members – Canada

Hello Everyone,

I’m Caephire, the Guild Leader for Zepheris. We’re a small Guild who primarily focus on solo missions, PvE, and Dungeons. Lately I’ve also been encouraging members to play World Versus World to help the server win server battles. My goal for Zepheris is to create a “cross-server” Guild. This guild is designed for both new and advanced players. As a newcomer to MMO, I found GW2 both fascinating and challenging. I wish to alleviate the stress by helping others get accustomed to the different facets of the game.

Zepheris: Core Principles
I’m very easy-going, I don’t force players to play in a specific way. I offer advice on builds but due to differing play-styles, I allow players to create builds as they see fit. Guild Missions are/will be available and my Lead Officers and Officers have clearance to activate them so please use it as you see fit. I do not dictate how you play the game, all I ask is that you represent and take part in the community that I’ve created with the others. There’s an ebb and flow to our Guild membership activity due to members leaving for school, projects, and workittenep them all in the roster and they all come back at one point or another to either say hello, or to get back into the game.

Zepheris and WvW
Although I encourage and wish to have more players in WvW, you are by no means REQUIRED to hop in. Oftentimes my guild members and I will be in a party but are on different sides of the map. I don’t rally players to me unless I need help with havoc/roaming (rare). If you are a roamer/scout in WvW, you are a much needed asset in Zepheris, as well as Kaineng.

Zepheris and Kaineng
Let me state that the Zepheris HQ will, and always will be Kaineng. The Leader, as well as Lead Officers and Officers are stationed here. Only World Officers and Centurions recruited by World Officers are off Kaineng. We do not “server-hop” as a Guild. Other members visit other servers to speak with friends, and I do it for recruitment purposes only.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask me or any of your (future) Guildmates. I encourage everyone to help each other.

You have NO clue what you are talking about. Kaineng Server had a TS provided for ALL of Kaineng. Every Kaineng guild (some more so than others) constantly reached out to RE. They chose to keep on their own TS and basically if anyone wanted to follow them on a BL was given their private TS to join. They chose not to come to the Kain server TS for their own reasons I suppose …

Pretty much this. The day of, or the day after War Machine pulled the plug on the previous server Teamspeak without notice, the new Kaineng TS was advertised. A lot of us managed to find it and hop on, so it was odd that we barely saw RE on the channel. We reached out to them but they already had their own TS set up I think. Regardless, they chose to maintain isolated in their own Teamspeak which fueled the rumor that they’re getting ready to leave the server. Why else would a Guild keep themselves isolated, right? We managed to convince some members to join both TS’s and their representatives passed information back and forth between [RE] and the rest of the server. It was really the best we could get of both worlds I suppose. I’m sure that wouldn’t be the case in their new server, it would be fresh beginnings after all and it would be the best way for them to integrate themselves to the rest of the community.

Wow, that’s demoralizing. But server population throughout the day has ebbs and flows. Chances are the other two servers might catch up by end of the week. I’m not familiar with the servers’ population shift though, so who knows? Anyway, good luck.

Even with the best intentions, everything does not always go as planned. We had hoped to get the changes in for today’s reset, but it simply was not feasible to do so with the confidence that nothing was amiss. I completely agree with the criticism about having announced the plan and then having to change it, that’s my fault and something I shouldn’t have done. This system is still inbound and I’m fighting as hard as I can to make sure it gets in as soon as humanly possible. There are, however, a lot of moving parts to any change like this and we have to make as sure as possible that none of those parts are going to fail. I share your disappointment as I am very excited to get this change out to all of you and wish we could have done it today.

I know you’re trying and that’s all I can ask for.
It’s remarkably disappointing given that I was planning on discussing new strategies and changes we have to deploy after this Reset with the Server Leaders, but now it won’t happen. I still consider your efforts something to look forward to and the upcoming changes to be a “light at the end of the tunnel” of sorts.

Great job Kaineng for holding and defending as much as we did last night.

It’s unfortunate we couldn’t keep them protected over night, but for what it’s worth, we found out how well we can work together as a community and as a server. Response time was nothing short of amazing, and people are finally getting to know their priorities in terms of Borderland distributions. So proud!
