I have dabbled in WVW, I like the concept, but the reality is boring.

If your server happens to have a lot of people involved in WVW when you are playing, you run around as an unstoppable mob, destroying everything in your path. No skill or tactics needed. Boring.

If , on the other hand, your server is underrepresented, there is little you can do. You can sneak and hide for a bit, but you can’t do much else and an kitten -kicking is always just around the corner. Pointless and boring.

Its all about numbers, basically…and there is little you can do about it.

If you think this is the case, then you haven’t WvW’d enough. WvW isn’t entirely zerg play. Run a balanced build, run havoc, and zerg surf/ harass enemy supply lines and reinforcements. There are ALWAYS good fight to be had in WvW, you just need to go looking for them and not be afraid of dying. Too often people jump into WvW alone and stay close to their side of the map because its ‘safer’, that’s the wrong way to play WvW, you should go out and search for fights with a group of friends or by yourself. Also, try tun w/ and experienced cmd on TS3 and you’ll find that there are A LOT of tactics involved in organised zerg combat.

A lot of thieves run similar builds because ANet nerfs every build that becomes viable apart from backstab builds.

To whoever from EB glitched into SMC: that’s not the classy behaviour I’ve been seeing from you guys throughout the match-up.

And not being able to attack enemy servers there would be stupid, since that would mean people would be able to get free siege daily without any kind of risk and that would be quite silly.

If you want help you’re going to have to give us more info.

What’s your setup?
What graphics settings are you running?
What is “low fps” 10-20? 20-30?
Is the lag limited to one area of the instance or is it constant throughout?

That said, if it’s laggy, it’s laggy. There’s little you can do for it apart from toying with your graphics settings to find out what works and maybe cleaning up and optimising your OS a bit.

The point of thief damage mitigation is that they can’t deal damage while they mitigate it and while they mitigate it they can’t deal damage. This is different from guardians with their constant aegis and rangers with their crazy passive regen.

Also, a thief fighting in a zerg fight is next to useless.

Can anyone from Shenanigans [NSFW] care to explain their 1v1 fight club rules?

Is it all of your players or just a few who seem to show little to no sportsmanship in 1v1 duels by attacking before /bow or attack without /bow and killing audience who try to res after player is downed?

Last I checked, both opponents normally /bow before the duel as opposed to 1 person /bow-ing and the other just randomly starting the fight.

Crystal Desert (T4) is putting up a tough fight against Yak’s Bend (T3) and Kaineng (T3).

All scores are within 1500 points of each other. CD seems to be second during NA and second during Oceanic/SEA.

I’d actually like a fix for this as well. I hate every time I use return 2 skill in combat and get sent flying 9001km away from them causing them to get away when I only meant to return and step back in for another immob.

CD only fights when we outnumber the enemy? You should’ve seen CDBL bay keep at around 4-5am server time. We definitely did not fight with number superiority. As for hitting hitting keeps, contesting keeps is a legit tactic and I don’t know why you wouldn’t do it.

Also, there’s no such thing as food that stuns you, you probably just got hit by basilisk venom.

It immobilized me and had the animation of the tree branches from Oakhearts. There was no Oakheart or any other mob near us. And I find contesting keeps weak.

Sorry for the misunderstanding, I was in fact talking to the poster from SBI that was above me. I was not talking about CD in my post.

No problem, mistakes happen. Regardless of whether CD or SBI did indeed exploit into SoS territory, I think we should just drop the subject. I have exams this week and WvW isn’t worth failing my tests! :P

anyways so while I was looking around, I happened across this video:

I skipped to random parts (not watching the whole thing, sorry) in an attempt to gather a better picture of what a “typical battle” with CD looks like, and I came across the moment 14:00 where you rage quit (logged out and back in, LOL) after getting downed in a 1vs1 fight vs a CD opponent.

I didn’t realize people still rage quit in fights they lost, do you do that often?

I saw your D/P build that you use and honestly, you should be using D/D instead. The lack of ini regen and stealth buffs defeats the point of using D/P.

Nah. Ever since Dancing Dagger nerf, dagger off-hand has been pretty bad.

The utility that Headshot and Black Powder bring are far superior to what the Dagger offhand can provide. Shadowshot is also much more useful than death blossom.

Hmm, I see. I just don’t think that running D/P without +2/sec ini regen and +2 ini on stealth is very safe cause to open with stealth you’re already dumping 9 of your 15 initiative which imo is dangerous since you have no ini regen boosts. D/P skills are generally quite high ini req. skills so for me having +3ini/sec regen and +2 ini on stealth is a must. I don’t like initiating pre-fight stealth with my utilities cause I generally reserve them for mid combat. Imo, sacrificing the 25 in DA for 25 in SA is worth it for the extra survivability you get.

Don’t worry James SBI has known about it and has reported the bots. It’s all on ANet’s end now to sort out the botting players. There isn’t much we can do about it apart from spam report on them in the hope that ANet will notice

Azure, you’re always trying to turn CD/SBI/SOS into a trash talk thread by posting all your score updates with the regular accompanying “SoS shows it’s dominance!” message, but your trash talking is pretty mild :P You should’ve seen it when we weren’t vsing you SoS guys and we had Maguuma instead…

To all my fellow thieves out there, look at it this way: they’ll see you rolling and scurry to get their anti-stealth traps out…which is why you spec a minimal stealth building like S/D! They’ll think they have the upper hand negating your stealth when really, you don’t actually need it! XD And once people stop bothering with anti-stealth traps anymore, we just switch back over to stealth reliant builds!

Pinko, I’m aware of that but assuming that CD will lose a few points next week when SBI stops playing with PvE shiny stuff; they will probably experience little volatility over the next several weeks.
Some things have been said about CD in a negative light; but they are stable and somewhat consistent in their coverage and performance. Short of another exodus or changes in how their WvW community operates; it’s safe to assume that they will stay where they are at until either we leave, or EB somehow accelerates their gain and replaces them.

You do realise that even is past weeks when SBI wasn’t absent, CD has been gaming rating points right? Even in the past 2 weeks when CD has come 3rd we’ve gained points.

What time period do you play? Cause if you play NA prime I can assure you that neither CD or SBI are giving up easy. If you’re playing SoS prime/late SoS prime, of course you aren’t going to see as many of us cause we’re probably asleep or we cbf going against your 40+ zerg balls with 10 people.

This excuse for JP camping is the worst ever. Stopping people from getting BP from JP and completion is kitten because it’s just a waste of effort and time. If I want blueprints I buy them, they’re cheap as chips.

Not confirmed officially yet but Jon Peters in-game messages suggest that we’ll being seeing 3s revealed return to PvE and WvW this patch.

I don’t see a problem with RL money = In-game money with this game. There’s no advantage others can have over you by buying Gems and converting to gold. You can fully spec your character within a few weeks of hitting 80 if you start from scratch. Ascended items aren’t a problem either because they’re time gated by either daily fractals or laurel/guild commendation acquisition. The only item I see people getting easier with money is ascended back-pieces which only provides a minuscule advantage over the exo pieces so even that doesn’t really matter.

As for your complaint: “To put it short, if you are rich or earn money easily in real life you are rich and cool looking in the game too, but if you are poor and you don’t earn the money so easily, you are the same low lifer in the game too.”

I think people are just lazy. I earned the gold for my T3 cultural and I’m in the process of earning gold for Corrupted revolver and Destroyer Dagger. I have numerous exotics and rare dyes. I’ve blown upwards of 100g on runes, sigils, and trinkets but do you know what I have above all that? Motivation. You don’t have to be rich to have cool stuff in-game. If you don’t have the real life money to get cool things, then you just have to be a little bit less lazy than others.

No offense but all I see is classic QQ about rich people. There is NO pay-to-win in this game, the items you buy with real money do NOT give them an advantage over you in WvW. It’s only pay-to-look-cooler, and that’s the best kind there is but you can still reach the same level of epicness without buying gems, you just have to put your nose to the grinder and stop crying.

It’s like saying you hate the cinema because other people can afford the popcorn and drinks and you can’t. Last I checked, you go to the movies to watch the kitten movie, not eat the food. The food’s just extra.

Yes, CD SEA guilds moving to TC. Yet more former guilds of CD. I just wish people would stick it out with the friends they’ve made for once.

Not sure what to do today and I am taking a break from SAB after spending over 200+ hours on it.

How did you spend 200+ hours on SAB when it’s only been out for ~168 hours?

He is easily soloable.

NOTE: YOU SHOULD HAVE BOMBS. THEY ARE VERY HELPFUL.

1- Entry to fight. This is the hardest part.

When you enter the fight, head straight for the middle platform. You may have to take a sacrificial hit/death. Avoiding his attacks if you can, gun it straight for the amulet and beat that thing like a drum. Do not stop to pick up the first shard which pops. Pop multiple shards, this makes it easier. If you’re unlucky and slow, this part may kill you but you have lives to no worries.

2- First stun.

Now with a few shards on the ground, pick one up and retreat to one of the rocks in the water. This is your safe haven, none of the attacks can hit you apart from his tongue which is the one you stun.

The pre-animation to his tongue attack is when he opens his mouth and wiggles his tongue from side to side. When you see this, move forward and throw shard immediately. This will stun him. Now that he is stunned, spam bombs like there is no tomorrow. When the stun is finished, quickly grab another one of the shards that you should have knocked off earlier and move back to the safe haven.

Rinse and repeat.

If you can’t damage him fast enough, you may have to move back in to break more shards. For this reason, you should probably spend some baubles on potions before you enter for a bit of survivability.

This is a very good way to earn Bauble Bubbles quickly. You can speed run through zones 1, 2, and 3 very quickly (Around 20-30mins) in you concentrate on just getting to the end reward of each zone. Of course, this isn’t as fun. you can only do this once a day though, but that’s still a truckload of bubble-baubles (6 per day minimum). If you can set aside 30 mins each day to do it, that comes to around 160-180 Bubble Baubles over the course of the month.

Odd, that person in the screenshot from [RMNT] (Bottom right). Can anyone verify what guild that tag belongs to? Because [RMNT] is also a guild based out of Maguuma whom we, CD, are fighting at the moment. I can tell that the OP is from CD because I see lots of CD guild tags on there including my own, [QCS].

The writer does nothing to suggest that he believes that video games cause violence. In my opinion, he takes a very cautious and impartial approach to the subject.

The reason the Sandy Hook shooting was include is because the Sandy Hook shooting was a very high profile event concerning the issues that the murder raises.
