Nope, instant xfers, back and forth, to and fro, atm. I think that should have been changed once they started a 7 day rotation.
Foresight has not been a strong point of Anet thus far. I remember in beta there being a thread specifically saying why they cannot allow server transfers like this. Numerous people laid out the reasoning as to why. They did it anyway and here we are.
DAOC was just as unbalanced as WvWvW is in GW2 today. People just tend to forget that part of DAOC.
Late night players are going to claim it unfair for their contribution to mean less than primetime players.
I’d rather see scoring removed altogether. What is the point of it? It does not adequately reflect skill level, rather who has more players on during all points of the day. People will play WvW regardless because it is fun. What makes it not so much fun is viewing the scoreboard and seeing your server being facestomped. If we are losing 150k to 50k my fun is not diminished when I help to take a keep unless it is put in context of the overall score. Remove the scoring system or keep it so that we as players don’t see it. If Anet needs it on their side to better match servers that is fine, there is no reason we need to see it as players. Seeing the bonuses we receive for taking things is enough.
Just take your weeks long facestomping and enjoy it! A year from now, when no one is left to WvW, things will balance out!!!

I think the most frustrating thing is the silence coming from Anet. You’d think they would have learned from SWTOR how fans react to silence. If they were to put out a statement for example of the things they are working on for each class people would be more inclined to give them time. Instead they remain silent leaving players to speculate and that never ends well for an MMO.
ArenaNet is banning them as fast as they can, I’m sure. But the problem is, when you ban one, two more seem to pop up in their place. Just report them for spamming and then block them. That’s pretty much all we can do right now.
I honestly feel sorry for the guys at Anet that got stuck with the job of tracking the gold sellers and banning them.
No they are not banning them. The same people are being allowed to continue spamming all day and night on the exact same accounts.
As a side note I have noticed something that is going on. The people I put on block list for spamming are constantly going on and offline. It appears to me there may be an exploit of some type by doing this. There are currently 5 online of the gold spammers i have blocked and they all keep going online/offline every few seconds.
I figured out the problem. It shows that it is a recipe that can be made. However it requires 3 of the jewels rather than just one.
It won’t let me discover any rare pattern though it shows I should be able to.

I am currently at a jewelcrafting station. I put in embellished intricate carnelian jewel, silver band and silver setting. It comes up and shows “This looks like something. Craft the item to save the recipe” it says Required rating 125..mine is 133. Yet the craft button is greyed out. It won’t let me craft the item.
They are busy buffing warriors. They started before BWE2 and won’t be satisfied until everyone is a warrior.
just because you see the same gold spammer advertizing multiple times a day (or over the course of 3 days), doesn’t mean they’re ignoring the problem. aren’t they banning in waves anyway? if you see the same guys still spamming in two weeks, we should be concerned.
Ever seen how well that approach works in WoW? If not let me tell you, it doesn’t. Trade chat in WoW is as full of gold spammers today as it was years ago, probably more so actually.
So if their solution is to use a system that has proven not to work in another MMO, then I guess the gold advertisers will be here to stay.
In every update the biggest problem has been stolen accounts. People on facebook are constantly talking about their accounts being compromised. Yet while Anet tries to get these people back their accounts, they allow the very sites responsible for this type of theft to advertise in their game. It makes no sense at all. It is like trying to bail water out of the front of a boat while a hole is letting the water back in behind you.
Not to mention that this guy spamming is most likely a stolen account. Why on earth would they allow a compromised account to be used for up to 2 weeks?
Weather reporting in good intentions or not, reporting multiple times is considered an abuse of the reporting system and is against the ToS. It could also lead to account suspension and/or account termination.
I’ve abused nothing. I have reported someone at different times for the same activity. That is not abuse. Abuse would be reporting someone over and over for the same activity they did at a certain time of day. That is not what I have done.
I do wonder though why you are more interested in having me banned than the gold spammer.

If it were different people spamming each time then I would assume something is being done. They are being forced to use different accounts. However that is not the case. These people are using the exact same account which shows nothing is being done to them. In another thread someone posted the same gold spammer had been there for 3 days the one I’m tracking has been there all day today. Yet he isn’t the only one either. I’ve noticed the same names/accounts for numerous gold sellers today.

Do you like being told repeatedly something you already know? They don’t need you or anyone else telling them every 5 minutes there’s a gold seller at “xyz”. Use the report button and move on.
Yes they do. The gold seller is still there and they have done nothing to stop them. They apparently do need to be told over and over.
Meanwhile in Rata Sum, the exact same gold scammer is continuing to advertise his site.
Spamming a forum is just as annoying to the general public as gold sellers.

The problem isn’t that the gold seller exists, the problem is that people will buy gold in the first place. If everyone ignored it they wouldn’t be there.

Asheron’s Call 1 used a system similar to this only it was manual. If players reported someone a GM would go to that location and tell the char’s to insert certain commands. Having a GM do this is unrealistic for a game like GW2 with so many more people, however an automated way of of doing it could work.
I am confused about this really. I farm mats for crafting for couple hours and continue to get drops. Are you trying to farm the same spawn point or something?
Its not just for mats, If I use magic find buffs and only get 15 mins of actual drops its a waste. This is wrong
Crafting mats are about specific mobs and that is what you are claiming you need those mobs for. If it is items you are looking for with magic find then you don’t need specific mobs.

4 different gold scammer sites are battling for control of Rata Sum now. 2 of the sites have used various accounts to do the spamming. However, 2 of the sites are using the exact same account every time no matter how much they are reported.
My personal favorite last spammed at 1:05am est. Same guy, same account, all day long.
You could buy cooking mats with it, not sure what else.
In EQ1 GM’s used to hang out while invis in known exploiting/botting spots watching and banning.
I must be one of the lucky ones, I haven’t run into a gold seller yet. Just report them and let ArenaNet take it from there.

What makes you think a game in 2012 should not have a system in place to deal with Gold Spamming? 15+ years of MMO gold spamming and games still release with this garbage being allowed. People will go to this site and get their account stolen causing Anet more work. It is comical that Anet puts out messages about email security while at the same time allowing the scamming sites to advertise in their game.
10:48pm est same guy spamming away in Rata Sum.
At 3:42pm est I reported a guy for gold spamming. At 4:11pm, 4:37pm and 4:38pm he spammed his gold selling. At 9:34pm est the same guy is in rata sum spamming gold selling.
Close to a 6 hour time frame where someone reported for gold spamming is still up and running. I have screen shots of it too.
Tonight the guy has company as well since 2 other gold spammers are now competing with him in rata sum.
So Anet what happened to perma bans? Let me guess you were blowing smoke and the gold sellers called your bluff.
Edit: 9:56pm and 9:58pm same guy…spamming in Rata Sum after I reported him yet again.

What is being down to prevent this? In the past 20 minutes or so I’ve seen the same 5 spammers doing their thing on Sanctum of Rall. I reported them but still they spam.
