You are looking at the breakout events the wrong way. It’s there to encourage randoms to go borderland maps. And when the enemy comes there’s more fun and action for you.
Or what would you be doing in your fully upgraded borderland void of all enemies? Sit next to an arrowcart in tier3 keep feeling awesome?

Except ET is probably lucky if they have any tier 3 towers in their own borderlands. GoM is beating both servers combined by almost double the points which means they’re holding their borderlands quite often. If anything, these events should be disabled for any server that has such a commanding lead.

We’re NA that leans heavily toward our main coverage being west coast primetime. I’ve logged on at 6pm EST after work to no commanders on our BL even though we were holding just garrison.

Just got home from the gym… Been thinking about what you said. I think SBI and EBay might be a really fun match. We also lean more heavily to CST & PST. I hope we match up together soon… Under the old system that was also a match that never could have happened because you and I could only really have ever swapped places at the edge of the two tiers.

Yes, EBay would be a matchup I hope we get soon. You’ll probably beat us but who knows. We’ve had a lot more people show up this week than the last few months so far since all the bandwagoners have been hopping on since we actually have a chance of winning (along with the PvEers needing 100% map getting those green EB/BL POIs finally too). Our zerg is certainly less coordinated with all the casuals this week.
Having been in a stale matchup for months straight, I welcome the random factor even if it means we get rolled by DB every few weeks.

Look at the 12-15-17 server match. AR and IoJ are matching fairly well with SBI, with AR holding PPT leads on multiple occasions. Knowing full well what AR is capable of, that 10k lead SBI owns is by no means a safe bet for victory.

This is a lot to do with coverage. I’m not fully aware of the AR population, but SBI is pretty much NA with very little Oceanic and European coverage. Even on the weekend, when I was logged in at 2pm EST, we will be 2nd or 3rd in points. We’re NA that leans heavily toward our main coverage being west coast primetime. IoJ is giving us a lot of good fights but lack the experience so I do hope they’re learning during our match. AR has been outmanned in EB when I’m on, which leads me to think they have better off hour coverage and make up their points when we’re all sleeping/working.
