Tried the staff and it’s pretty awesome.
Maybe that’s why I’ve been getting destroyed?
I’ve been using greatsword and scepter/pistol.
So I’m stuck getting clobbered for the next 40 levels?
Well when do you start noticing more progress? Is it exactly at 40, or do you start sensing a change at a lower level like 20?
That long? ;-;
What is it at level 40 that makes it unstoppable? Also, does it get better along the lines? Like do I start dying less as I approach 40?
I made a Norn mesmer at midnight and played for a bit. I brought her up to like level 8 today. Thing is, she’s died like 5 or 6 times already. What level does it get better? Or could it just be me not knowing how to play it?
I seriously can’t decide on a main. I’ve had the game for 2 weeks and can’t choose. I’ve narrowed it down to the guardian and the 3 casters. Not very specific but still. Help.
I tried the guardian but I feel like I’m playing it wrong. :/
If it helps, when I played WoW I played the shaman mostly. I also played a paladin.
I love pretty much all of those equally. I just can’t decide. What are pros and cons of each?
I’m currently a Level 12 Asura Guardian but I don’t know what build to use. Also, what skills should I use in the 2 utility slots that I have? Right now I’m using a hammer.
I go pretty try-hard in leveling when I get into MMO’s. Especially that I decided on a character already.
Hello ladies and gents. Last Tuesday when I had no school I started my main Asura guardian since I got the game a week ago.
I was just wondering how long does it take just playing on weekends to hit 80? I play from like 8am-12am. I’ll probably get 1 hour during the weekday in total since I have school.
I’m fairly new to the necromancer. I have a Lv.15 necromancer and was wondering how I should start building him since I’m starting to get kind of clobbered by mobs now.
Oh alright. Out of all of those, which is better in PvP?
I have a Norn Necromancer as my main right now. I was just wondering if this forum had any feedback on alts. I was thinking either a mesmer, warrior or ranger. Can you guys tell me any pros and cons of the three? I want something that’s refreshing after I play a necro.
I tried it out in HoM and won’t lie, it’s pretty cool.
How would you rate it’s versatility? I’m just trying to look for something that can switch things up(besides engineer) That’s what bothers me about necro.
That’s it? My necro’s minions die pretty fast too.
Why exactly is it hard to PvE with?
Most of my toons are Lv.10 or so since I got the game a week ago and have been testing the classes. I haven’t gotten around to trying the mesmer in depth. I have played mostly everything else. My favorites so far have been my Norn Necromancer, and Charr Ranger(I also like warrior but eh…)
I like the necro but I’d like a bit more versatility. Should I give the mesmer a shot?
I played elemental shammy and resto. I played the ele but he’s too squishy for my taste. Resto shammy with earth shield could at least survive more.
I compare the shammy to the engie because of the kits. I was playing with the grenade kit and it was so fun. Plus I feel like I’m playing Gears of War with it. It’s enhanced from the awesome flips and dynamic events.
But yeah I don’t know which of the two to keep leveling. I love both of them. I was considering just flipping a coin because I enjoy both, so I wouldn’t be tired of one or the other.
I’ve played each to around 10. Thief and engineer are a really close tie. I love the flashiness of the thief and versatility of the engineer. Still unsure.. :/
I did the Heart of the Mist thing and to be honest, I only liked the engineer and thief.
Also guys, in other MMO’s, I’ve played things like the shaman, hunter and warrior in WoW. As well as rogue.
I like being versatile but still standing a chance(lol shaman)
I’ll be leveling solo as well, so take that into consideration.
Do you guys have any leveling tips as well? When I finish the first heart quest, I’m still not the right level for the story quest.
I’ll tell you guys what I love of each class.
Engineer:I love the range and the cool abilities, but the damage hasn’t been to epic yet.
Thief: Good damage, not so squishy, and it feels like I’m playing Assassin’s Creed. PLus he has some range.
Guardian:I like it’s paladin-like feel with the heals and the defense.
Also, I’m going to be doing a lot of PvP when I hit the level cap. But for the most part, I’m leveling through PvE.
Also, how long does it take to hit 80?
I’ve played the game today(bought it yesterday) and have played each of the classes for a bit. Problem is… I LOVE ALL OF THE CLASSES. I can’t really choose.
I’ve narrowed it down to a few:
Engineer
Guardian
Thief
Can anyone give me advice? I want to stick to one and level it to 80. Also list pros and cons.
I’m digging the thief right now.
Ok I’ve narrowed it down to 3 classes which are Elementalist, Engineer and Warrior.
What are the pros and cons of each at the end game?
Should I make an Asura necro, elementalist, or thief?
Going to make a new Asura though. I wanna see if I like anything else aside from my Charr Engineer.
I’m loving the Charr starting zone. I’m playing an engineer and he’s pretty sweet. I like the Asura too. Not digging Sylvari though. Nor am I liking Norn. Humans I never play in fantasy games. :P
Ok. Are they harder than WoW dungeons? Or about the same?
I won’t lie, I don’t mind huge questing as long as the quests change and the landscape changes.
See you in the game!
Is leveling annoying by the way? Or are the maps nice enough that the leveling is nice?
Awesome. Thanks for the help guys! I’m gonna make a Guardian, Ranger and Necro.
I’m glad to hear that Glitch.
I didn’t have money for it until now. Plus I had a lot of classes but now I have a break.
Well maybe you guys can suggest things from the classes I’ve enjoyed playing in games like WoW. I mostly played hunter, warlock and shaman. I like healing and tanking mostly.
Lanervan, if you’re gonna be a bad troll and not help leave. I chose the game myself. I like all the classes and I’d like you guys to recommend what class fits my playstyle.
Lexy, thank you for the nice and thorough answer. I’ll go check it out now.
