I recently decided to make new characters since my guardian main was getting boring after hitting the level cap and being fully geared. So I made and engineer and elementalist. I also made a thief for some lolz. But I don’t know which class I should choose. I like them all but I don’t know which has more potential and which is easier to solo with. Any suggestions?
My fully geared Sylvari Guardian. Lowbies always whisper me for what armor that is. He’s hot. Literally.
I think the Tengu will be added. That’s just my 2 cents about it.
It just says how the skills were changed.
What about class changes? Have any classes been nerfed or buffed?
Yeah, there was that month where stuff happened. I think it was called January.
So funny bro. I forgot to lol.
I haven’t played the game since about December and I was wondering what major changes have happened to the game. Has anything been buffed/nerfed, changed, etc..?
Actually, send mail since I’m not on at certain times.
Tired of getting owned in Pvp because of a lack of teammates that can function together? Are you constantly looking for dungeon groups? Do you need some funny friends to talk with? Look no further than Harbingers of Conquest. I remember our formation like it was only yesterday. Well we did form up yesterday. We only have 4 members as of now and we’d like to get more people for PvP(Structured and WvW) along with dungeons. We are on Dragonbrand and we’re accepting pretty much anybody. Message Pedrolas or Shyvara Dragonwind since I’m on either one at any time. The first five become lords in the guild.
Ranks:
King
Lord
Knight
Soldier
We hope to get more people and become a nicely sized guild to do all sorts of things in the game. Any level, profession or race characters are welcome to join.
Hmm.. I guess I could try the bunker build.
How good is the elementalist at survival?
Also, something that’s easily soloable is preferred since I usually play alone.
I played the necromancer but I didn’t really have THAT much fun with it. I like the class but the weapon sets are too limited.
I did have fun with thief actually. Got one to Lv.8 but stopped playing it for some random reason.
As for elementalist, I find it really fun but it’s pretty squishy.
I recently got to 80 on my guardian and started making alts. I made a mesmer with my friend but he hasn’t been online for a while. I made an engineer but got bored of it today. I want something with good AoE to dispatch of big groups of enemies. Any suggerstions?
I’m thinking about going with engineer. I like the ranger’s survivability but if it’s that boring, then no thanks. I’d rather have decent dps and fun(like my guardian) than facerolly crud. Thanks for the help.
I’m on Dragonbrand actually. I have a fully geared 80 so if you ever need help on content you can just add me, or send me a message through here.
Yeah it helps. Engineer and ranger are what appeal to me right now from that description.
I’m considering starting a medium armor character but I’m not sure yet. I’d like to have 1 of each armor type considering I have my 80 guardian and my 15 mesmer that I use to help my friend level. I’m looking for a new character that’s an adventurer to mess around with soloing. I just wanted to hear your opinions on each of them and what you think are their weaknesses and strengths. I then draw upon what is posted to make a choice that accommodates my needs. Simple additive problem solving.
Try other classes and take them to Heart of the Mists and test them. Choose the one you like there since you can explore with the full potential unlocked.
Alright. I just starting gathering the CoF tokens and have 111 so far.
I’m running Citadel of Flame since I like that armor the best. Also, are legendary weapons worth it? Or should I just grind dungeons to get a dungeon exotic?
I finally got to Lv.80 in this game and I don’t know how to get geared and stuff. Any suggestions?
Also, how do I farm more gold? I’m at 8 gold right now but I’d like more to get my weaponsmithing to 400 to craft some awesome weapons.
I got quite a bit from the Tixx event.
I have the same situation. Same class and level too. Jewelcraft is pretty easy. I’m on Tier 4 already and I’ve barely spent 1 gold. I spent the gold on my training manual. :/
When I play again tomorrow I’ll most likely do some dungeons.
I’m rather confused on how to make gold right now. I spent a lot on crafting and on my Grandmaster’s Training Manual. I’m at Lv.61 and I don’t know how to farm gold. Any tips? I know I can buy gems and exchange for gold but I want to see if there’s a way around that.
Make it the 2 easiest crafts because I guess I can spare doing 10 more levels to save gold.
Once I hit 50, I’d like to craft my way to 80 using three crafts. I just need to know which 3 crafts are cheapest and if you guys can, give an estimate for each one. Thanks.
I’m saving crafting for lv.60 to just level two crafts all the way up and hit 80, then tackle the rest of the content.
But I completed those two zones and am working on the Norn zone. I’m currently 18 and I haven’t even played that much since I’ve been playing Halo 4 in the meantime. I’ve only played 9 hours on that toon and he’s lv.18.
I’ve been exploring the cities and zones and have to say that I am leveling smoothly on a my new guardian toon. Started him yesterday and played a bit before dinner and played for an hour or so today and am Lv.13 and I am having more fun than when I was grinding for levels. I’ve only discovered two cities and am in progress of finishing Caledon Forest(since I’m a Sylvari Guardian) and Metrica Province, since I’ve played that zone a lot. After I’m done discovering the two completely, I’m moving on to Hoelbrak and Wayfarer Foothills. Idk if I’ll do Plains of Ashford and Queensdale right after since I’ve played the two to death. I will definitely do them later on however.
Thanks for the help guys.
Awesome. Me and my cousin are gonna tag team this strategy since he’s newer to the game.
So I complete the cities and then do starter zones? Is it guaranteed 25 though? That sounds like a brilliant plan.
Yeah I did that but I still leveled slow. Should I do more than two starter zones? Maybe that messed up my leveling….
I’m a Lv.20 Human Necromancer and the leveling is getting really tedious. I’m doing the hearts in two 15-25 areas and am barely getting exp. I’m holding off on crafting until 60 so I can do two crafts up to 80. I need tips. I leveled really fast the first day from 1-15 and now I’m going really slow.
Yeah, I made a Human male Necromancer with a Norn female Warrior alt.
I don’t mind the no fire-swords thing to be honest. They’d be nice to have but it’s not totally necessary. The thing I don’t like about the warrior is the few magic-like skills. But I do like their armor and weapons.
Ok here are my criteria for my class:
It doesn’t have to be a super tank like a guardian, just enough ways to survive.
I’m leaning towards either necro, ele, or warrior since I’m favoring cloth and heavy armor. I like aesthetically pleasing classes armor-wise.
I really like the combat styles of elementalist and necromancer, it’s just that the squishiness of the elementalist kinda turns me off.
I like range but I also like the opportunity to punch something up close.
Something similar to the warlock, shaman or hunter in WoW since those are the classes I enjoyed.
I am seriously confused. I’d think having 8 awesome classes is good, but it’s kind of bad. I can’t seem to choose a main. I want to stick to just one, but I love all of them. However, I’ve narrowed it down to 5. I just want to stick to one and level it hardcore to 80 THEN make an alt. The one’s I’ve narrowed it down to is: Elementalist, Warrior, Necromancer, Mesmer, and Ranger. I want something that won’t get nerfed as often. It’d be like investing millions in a company, and the company goes bankrupt in a day. Out of those four which wouldn’t get hit by nerfs? I’m just desperate to get a main. I just need something that won’t be dying every fight, but is still fun to play with.
Don’t give me the cliched answer of “Pick the one you like the most” or “Fun is subjective.” I find them all fun and and love them all.
Oh ok. What about the other classes I mentioned? The engineer and thief? How did they get hit by the patch?
Yeah, in MMO’s there’s always some classes that dominate. Like in WoW the rogues, mages and death knights are OP.
I’ve played most of the classes and the ones I like the most are necro, elementalist(a bit squishy though) thief and engineer. Mesmer I found too weird for my playstyle, guardian I could never wrap my head around and warrior got boring to me.
But I’m asking what got hit the hardest by the patch. Not asking which to play.
Well I’m planning on making one of the three casters and the ranger. Which got nerfed the least out of the 4?
I’ll most likely make my elementalist on Thursday since I referred some of my friends.
The D/D ele was really fun. I loved playing it with air and fire.
I’ll be making a ranger too since elementalist and ranger are like the classes I played in WoW(shaman and hunter)
I like the playstyle of the elementalist more. I find it a lot funner.
So it was just me playing badly as a mesmer?
Veterans and taking on 3 mobs of 1 level lower. I might be playing it wrong so idk.
Is it normal for mesmers to die a lot in the beginning though?
I tried the mesmer but I found myself on the verge of death all the time. With the elementalist I could survive a bit better.
But can an elementalist do good in PvP?
