I would suggest a change to how PPT is calculated.

Barebones( no upgrades) camps and towers would give reduced karma and exp( discourage cooperative karma trains), and also significantly less PPT. For example, all un-upgraded towers/keeps/camps would just add just 5 PPT. As you upgrade the structure, x PPT is added for each completed upgrade depending on the structure and karma/exp rewards increase exponentially for successful assaults/defenses.

Camp PPT: 5 (upgrades at camps do not add PPT)
Tower PPT:5 + [(# of completed upgrades) x (Multiplier 1 )]
Keep PPT:+5 + [(# of completed upgrades) x (Multiplier 2 )]
Stonemist: +5 + [(# of completed upgrades) x (Multiplier 3 )]

What this means is that if a server has a weak night time presence, they can potentially retain a competitive PPT if they lockdown/defend their fully upgraded holdings in their borderlands, while occasionally resetting the upgrades at their enemies territories.

I like this idea. I also have a similar suggestion. Like with stomps, if you could gain some automatic points for a capture of structures and the amount of points is increased based on the level of upgrade of the structure. This might create an incentive for the two servers to go after first place structures which will typically be more upgraded. But I like your idea too as it might have a similar effect, though it may simply benefit the first place server more and produce extra discouragement on players of the losing server.

I never really complain, and especially not about ‘double teaming’ as I think that’s a bit silly in WvW as there are three teams. But when a server seems to avoid fighting completely cough ET cough and starts taking your map that HOD just PvDed and we were still fighting them for our Hills, without even taking back their own kitten territory it really grinds my gears. And when said group takes your paper garri with numerous golems and moves on your only tower rather than the red one of equal distance, one can only laugh about how desperate that group is to avoid actually having to fight people.

Actually, I’d like to extend that sentiment to all three servers. With leagues coming up, many people chose to take the easy route and transfer to other servers that were in better position to place highly. Those that stayed behind to represent and fight for AR/FC/GoM have my full respect. Thanks for playing hard and not giving up on your server.

This was filmed at the time, one block during reset. So obviously it wasnt for all of this as it was done before all the kitten. We just like filming, mostly for internal use and enjoyment. After all, why does anyone film?

Excellent post! TFH reminds me of Mend from HoD. Their only way of getting recognition was to post in the thread too about how they supposedly wiped a million DR zerglings for hours. TFH being from AR just makes the whole thing laughable, because we all know how good they are at counting.

I guess I’m just really amused (I love that word) by TFH’s behaviour here. Are you guys under the assumption that I think DR doesn’t have zerglings that wipe easily? TFH is just a mediocre guild who runs the same meta European servers ran half a year ago and think they are the next best thing to sliced bread, but then when you go up against your members 1v1 it’s obvious what kind of players it breeds. Not trying to be a kitten, but since you seem to be a tad to arrogant, let me remind you that you lost every single even number GvG you did against us, and then any other close number engagements we had with your guild in the open field after that. No matter what “meta” you run, any guild group of 10+ on voice comms can wipe a 30 man uplevel karma train; doesnt mean you should post about it on the forums.

We have won some GvGs and lost some GvGs. We have been practicing our movements and tactics a lot more recently as we look to become a competitive highly functioning guild and if you were still on DR I think we would greatly welcome a rematch. If we lost that then maybe we would learn something new.

I wasnt in the GvG against you guys but if you are the guild I’m thinking of then I think we learned to have more warriors. We have grown up since then and we are looking to improve more so we welcome the challenge of FC and DRs zergs.

As for 1v1 nonsense from the other poster. Well most of us have grown up running small man squads rather than moving as groups of 10-15. I know for a fact senior members of TFH don’t run from 1v1 and we haven’t been in the practice of recruiting those that would. I’m not saying that we are 1v1 dueling uber pros, especially not on our support team oriented builds, and I expect we will die 1v1 as often as not. But we aren’t pushovers and we will make you work for it.

You’re right, when we held SM our BL turned blue…then it turned red…then a little green and so on. The fact of the matter is anywhere we go, AR is likely to lose ground elsewhere. Yesterday we jumped around to try to protect everything but it was just impossible. This is not a go against our server, its just a fact that TFH is the largest guild consistently participating in WvW and while our pugs and small man guilds try they just often cant compete against the numbers.

Our hold on SM was something else entirely. We held SM not just because it was fun (and this is a game so that is our primary goal) but also because it was a morale boost for our embattled server. To take and hold SM for so long at that point in the match-up surprised many people, every few minutes we would have a person wp in and say “Wow we hold SM, I never thought we could even take it.”

Well we can and I hope that served a lesson to all of AR, that we aren’t as helpless as we thought and that our only real issue is showing up. If we can do that then we shouldn’t have any problems.

Multiple things, really.

Much of our population is farming in the pavilion, myself included. We did have a few recent guild exports… WvW, MVP, HBGR, RUN, maybe more (no idea what the backstory on that all drama was about since all of those guilds were EB-centric and I tend to avoid that map like the plague). And probably the biggest contributor is that the new school/university season started. That last bit really hit hard for our crew of commanders since they’re unable to play as often and pugs don’t tend to stick around without a dorito on the map.

Two short weeks ago, we beat the snot out of Kaineng without having Zombieland or MVP’s numbers around to help us, and then turned around and lost to IoJ (who we’ve beaten previously) before HBGR and RUN bailed. So the recent guilds leaving haven’t really been a factor. We’ve still got the population… it just isn’t playing WvW at the moment.

DR just ran in behind us when we were recapping Klovan from AR. We flipped it right before they got to lords room, but their group of about 15 wiped us…. except me. I stayed and fought alongside the lord for a good 4-5 minutes wiping DR one by one in the lord’s room and on the bridge, with my fallen allies cheering me on, until the tower was clear. Couldn’t have done it without the help of guards but still…. it was like 1v15 and it was such an intense fight (for me) that I had to take a break to calm down (which is what I’m doing posting now).

Anyway, they came back with 20+ and no RI so I just died in the lord’s room all alone

Wouldn’t worry too much, just a blast going up against a server with t4 population and t12 skill. I make 8-9 gold a day off these guys. We may not have a lot of people, but the walking loot bags on one of the other servers more than make up for the population difference.

just talking about what most servers try to do on reset night, which is make a strong showing. if some server you’ve never played before takes everything and won’t give it back, everybody goes and does something else it seems. our numbers heading into t5 were really strong for the first week. after ebay culled us 2 weeks, they started to dwindle, 3 weeks, people stopped playing because they got it in their heads… that’s all i’m talking about. gg

I know why ppl stop coming or jump ship, I just don’t agree with it. Just play for fun. WvW doesn’t have to be about winning, what do you get if you win? Play for the fun of it.

I find my fun finding fights on a competitive scale but so much more than that I find my fun in hanging out with my guildmates. Getting as many together as we can and just doing whatever we feel like, whether it is coordinate with the commander/server, roam, booast or dance in syncronisation until a zerg roles us I have fun doing it.

If it is competition you want but aren’t finding then maybe you need to redefine your idea of competition. This is what I have done because I would rather not leave my guild or my server mates.

I hope most of our server has adopted the same ideal for at least the time being until we can be competitive again. Build a good comunity and everything else will follow.

AR has as reputation for playing for 2nd, because we strive to move up and fight the tougher fights.

Ar has a rep for playing for second because they take it in the rear to whoever they view as strongest in order to put down someone else. It’s a good strategy I guess.

only thing i dislike about the matchup so far is the complete lack of solo people running around.

I’ll get them occasionally but they’re interrupted very quickly by people on opposing side or my side.

I started a requirement for videos I did on the last one I did

They must have food buffs, unless there is more then 1.

Underlveled people don’t make it in the video either unless they’re with an 80

I actually re-watched my video, and I only included a single, short clip of me 1v1ing an under-leveled person.

I make a habit to delete any clips where friendlies outnumber the enemy, so every kill in the video, except 1, is:

-A 1v1
-An outmanned solo fight
-An outmanned team fight
-I believe there is a single team fight where we have even numbers

So, in lieu of this, I don’t feel too bad about it.

Its not a bad video, cept for the quality, was just pointing out things you might want to include in future videos

Man, the more I play folks from SBI the more I realize how angry and sad they are. Thief jumps me while fighting 6 krait, so I disengage the krait, because that just makes sense. He can’t kill me alone, but luckily he runs into several of his server mates. Happens, that’s WvW. Come now, just because you failed doesn’t mean you have to lie. It was actually more like to 3 to 1 as the night progressed too. I believe 5 GF wiped 15ish TFH? Then proceeded to give us the tower because you were lets just say “tired”.

At no point did only 5 of you GF wipe even 5 of us. The fact that we gave up the tower when we were done for the night should speak volumes to how less than serious we were and if we were wiped so much, why was our tower half to fully upgraded without any upgraded camps. If you were the great wvwer you claim to be, maybe you should have repaired both the bay walls which were at 10% the whole night.

One last point. Many eBayer have been complain about people in the other servers tower hugging. Why insult the people who are coming out to fight with you?

Wiped is a very strong word. None of us died in inner bay except our rams and our supply counts and that was because of your arrow carts. Vale flipped hands many times and we fought for hours. Your turn of events seems like a few minutes.

Yes we gave up the tower. If we hadn’t you wouldn’t have got that single guild catapult up (which you had to run supply for, gave me a few chuckles) let alone be able to just sit there with one catapult against reinforced walls. We could have been there for a very long time.

There was roughly 25-30 of AR attacking bay. 15-20 were from TFH, 5 or so from BL, and 5ish from ALS/Zero and others. By the time we pushed you guys to your tower, you had 10 people. At that point one of your members joined an Ebay member and said “just take it, we give up”, which we then proceeded to say “at least defend it”. You won’t believe how hard we laughed when we heard that you guys just “gave up”. We built two guild catas, since we don’t normally carry siege.

At peak we never had 15-20 (I do like how your numbers keep growing though) we had maybe 12 TFH (5 up arrows including a lvl 9) but your numbers for the other AR guilds seem about right up until we made it into SM so most left. According to my maths that’s about 20. At the same time we counted you and there was about 18 or so (the thieves made it harder). There were groups from GF, FTF, pk, a guy from ASG who was a pretty good hit and run warrior plus 1 or two others. You also had the vets, which while not a real threat are still annoying and the cannons, which killed me once. Though our stealth trap killed you once too.

Honestly, you guys fought well and it was a lot of fun which is what we said to you before we left. We got to practice a few things and we have it recorded so that we can review and improve. “This fight is being recorded for training purposes.”

I guess I just don’t understand your mentality beyond ’I’m on the internet so I’ll do whatever’. Why can’t you just say “It was an even fight and we had lots of fun”? Because it was an even fight and it was lots of fun from our end. Are you so desperate to prove how ‘great’ you are to people you don’t know and have never met?

Sigh w/e, It’s impossible to convince people in denial. Feel free to spin the numbers however you want, I would to after being stomped with lesser numbers. The main point is, AR outnumbered us yet..nothing happened. Nothing. My point was, people were making excuses about how Ebay’s population was so much larger and we only won because of that, well this was a good example of how skill just stomped numbers folks. If I wanted to prove how great I am I would post the pic of me 1v5ing 2 BL warriors, 1 TFH guard, 1 TFH ele and a random, stomping two and escaping safely. But I didn’t.
