cof p1 is a farmers dream. I have farmed it. Takes my team a grand total of 40 secs to kill slave driver. Skip bridge,kill acoyltes as fast as they respawn. mesmer past the rocks, do the braizers in about 20 secs. Kill efrigy in about 55 secs. 4 wars and 1 mesmer can eat this dungeon alive. Each warrior uses differnt banner strength,discipline,tactics, and the other is mute. mesmer waits till all banners are down and waits for all 4 warriors to use for great justice then time warps us. Insta boss death basically. Also we take turns using reaper of grenth on flame efrigy.. Be suprised at how fast he dies without full regen.

Well, I’m kinda ok with current system.
But what frustrates me is the amount of special effects we have in this game. I mean if we are to dodge attacks by watching the animation, then why do 95% of skills transfrom the monster into a ball of firery fx. Even on minimal graphics I can’t see where the boss is looking most of the time.
Anet should do something about it.
Ya the Cof p1 boss can be annoying if you have alot of aoes on and it is hard to see where the crystals are dropping. And I watch the animations and I occasionally glance at my health when I take a big hit. You get crystaled then knocked into another one,then get hit by a flame blast,then get hit by his little heatseeking fire blast before being able to get up. I’ve had this happen a few times because its hard to tell if your standing in a red circle of death. I have no complaints about the actuall boss because you can dodge everything fairly easy I am just saying the circles should be more visable when in heavy combat. And the troll that people gripe about his “jump” attack is very visable and dodgeable you have more than enough time to spot it and press V. A boss I will gripe about is not in the normal since it is the cof p3 boss. And everyone that runs dungeons knows why.. It’s not the difficulty of the fight he has almost no dps what so ever, it is an over long drawn out fight that is repeatative. I think the 50th time you team has dodged his rock wave its a redundant conclusion to the battle. Giving him an insane amount of health is not challenging my team “all of us were nubs but 1” didn’t whipe a single time on this dungeon and we are actually quite good but it takes WAY to long to kill this guy. You can basically eat his hammer and not worry about dodging as long as your not close to the edge. Maybe if they increase his damage and lower his health more people would run cof p3.
Just quit trying to ruin the game for the rest of us… You guys keep begging and begging for nerfs… Till what???? The boss hits you with a pile of rose petals and says sorry here is a chest for your trouble and the mobs are abuncha lil fluffy kittens that there special attack is they give you loadstones. I hope the devs just keep doing what there doing and if anything make some of the dungeons more challenging for experinced players. There dungeons there supose to be more difficult than the open world.
The answer is simple…Who ever has to work harder will lose. A thief vs ranger a ranger is already at a disadvantage because they want there enemy to come right at them and kite while “phewing” them to death. A thief can easily get around most of the stuff a ranger has to offer and go right in and shatter there glass jaw. A warrior on the other hand presents a whole arsenal of stuff that can shread a thief. For great justice,bulls charge,frenzy,100b,SWAP, shield bash,eviserate = one dead thief. Only time I have ever lost to a thief with my warrior is they got the drop on me while I was talkin on map/guild. And even then I can turn the table on them if I have stomp on. Easy way to explain this is player skill.
The game isn’t hard it’s actually fairly easy if you have a good team. Running glass cannons is what gets you one shooted. If you have ever ran a heavy tank build for warrior/guardian you would know you can actually stand there and take alot of those “one shots” And as for the other classes you are gifted with kite/quick escape skills. There are only a few bosses that I have ran into that can actually deal enough damage to come close to one shooting a tank and there BIG attacks are easy to predict/dodge. If you want to roll a glass cannon thats fine max dps= low health/toughness but there dungeons in this game that will chew you up and spit you out for something like that. The devs are trying to keep it entertaining to people and not just a dungeon you can run threw staring at your tv zoned out drinking a coke. Please don’t complain its to hard ITS NOT.
If thats the case he is probably a few years off. Look at all the areas not even open in Tyria thus far. I doubt they will rush all that all at once. They will most likely gradually open up Tyria to us and then Kill the Deep Sea Dragon then we have whole new areas on differnt Continents.
Ok lol. Ya Im kinda interested in the deep sea dragon. They are really keeping anything about real hussh hussh. Im wondering if he is gonna be the biggest and baddest out of all the dragons.
What do you mean by the real one? In the meta event you only fight Jormag’s lieutenant. Further more we only know of six dragons and all are native to Tyria. Since Tyria was cut off from Cantha and Elona we do not know if their are more dragons or not. The “Flame and Frost” if it does open the gate way to another dragon will most likely only fight one of their champions. I hope they do not rush the dragons the game has only been out for six months.
Jormags claw,Teq,and shatterer are all just kinda LTs. I don’t think they count as real elder dragons. And I got my info from various sites and the offical gw2 game book that is sitting right beside me. If you were asking me lol.
Idk man didnt say what you really wanted. If you want a wvw server that NEVER LOSES go to sorrows furnace. People are usally pretty active on there.
You should really read the lore of the game… These are all upcoming. Primodios “Drove the dwarves to extinction and what is left of them are still fighting the destroyers under ground what we are seeing now are just small groups that got threw”. The Deep Sea Elder dragon “No one but the devs know anything about him”. And we havent even fought the real elder dragons yet besides zhaitian.
Jormag,Deep sea dragon,and primordios “the dragon that made destroyers” are all for sure upcoming. But what is after that?? What is the next big expansion. I have a pretty good guess. The gods have abondaned men they remain silent and after the fall of the dragons they return attempting to enslave all due to weakness from the long campaign against the dragons and the alliance between races are holding by a thread. Think about it… All new minions,big bosses,atleast quite a few dungeons from that, and it would almost fit right in. Name for it… How about Twilight of the Gods? Or something along that line.
This made me laugh… How about this every other proffesion gets a 5 level increase and we just leave thieves how they are so we can be on there level
Heartseeker is a troll attack thow. Needs to be an actual cooldown on it… Can you imagine a warrior being able to spam eviscerate like that without adren…
Were probably a long way away from level increase if its even on the devs mind. There probably busy with there next area expansion to worry about that. Level increase = new armour,gear,weapons,food,traits,skills,loot,crafting mats,balancing, not to mention all the people that just got there legendarys might be a lil upset there weapons are now useless. And they won’t do it like that… You get scaled down not up.
Never said any of them where flat out bad. I just ran a personal test on the mists against the chieftain and svanir. Chieftain was fairly simple for all weapons (some harder than others) but svanir was the hardest to gank and just stand there and trade blows with. The easiest that I found was the sword/shield Greatsword. Wish there was a dps,mitigation,healing tracker. It would make alot of this so much easier lol. Guardian would defiently get mitigation and the only thing that I belive could beat a guardian “o god here comes the hate from warriors” is a water ele in healing/self healing. Im not even gonna try and guess for dps.. To much hate would come from it lol. And as for the hammer giving protection I totally agree. But the chieftain had a nasty habbit of knocking me down while trying to get it down there lol. The shield gives you almost the same thing “minus the symbol” which you think a shield should grant a protection symbol btw. And I like the mace I think it needs a buff thow to be really on par with the sword for me. The healing is nice but svanir would down me anyway.

Sure dagger should be a stand alone but axe is supose to be in the middle of mace-hammer sword-greatsword. Kinda like a medium so shouldn’t there be a two handed axe?
GSword healing is always 25, not really that effective. There is some discussion on Hammer vs GSword right now regarding damage output but I threw on a Hammer and ran a 0/15/30/20/5 AH build and it did great for me the other night. Seems to have quite good damage while maintaining Protection (33% dmg reduction) full time and a ton of self healing. I run a mix of Soldiers, Zerkers, Knights gear for a mix of survivability and damage. 2x Runes of Water, Monks and Earth each will allow you to keep stacking Protection and keep you on the front line longer with Hammer’s symbol. Trait AH if you have melee buddies, Monks if you dont.
Also looking at a 15/25/0/30/0 for my next try with Hammer n GSword for more DPS. Also, Hammer 1 n 2 are all that’s used for damage, save the others for when ya need um.
GSword is not the only effective weapon, its just designed quite well and feels good.

Very true blood. I tried the hammer and the last auto attack for the hammer is its only truely downside. I think thats why most players steer away from it. With GS/Sword shield build that I brought it does keep you up close and gives you a suprising amount of dps while maintaining the fact your hard to kill. I try not to follow everyone else and go with GS but like you said it feels more fluid. Don’t get me wrong I love the hammer’s kiting,penning,and trapping ability it really does have alot of utility and gives you alot more options than the gs does BUT its real downside is that long animation. Its real easy to spot/stun before you can complete it. And ontop of that I belive it got nerfed somewhat that once you start it you can’t get out of the attack. I tried the mace intead of the sword at first but compared to the sword it also falls short. I belive the devs are more pro sword then they are blunt objects. Hmmm nub thing to say but I wish they would introduce a Great Axe into the game. mace-hammer sword-greatsword scepter-staff pistol-rifle shortbow-longbow axe-??dagger??. Just seems kinda odd to me. There should be a medium between Hammer and GS.
Ok thanks Shimond and I did check that out. But I guess the only way I could tell is go try things for myself. Now I went to the mists to 1v1 the chieftian and Svaniar. I tried many builds out each was able to take on the chieftain fairly well but I would always lose to svanir. “NOTE” I did not dodge,eat food,etc I just went in hit him and was testing which builds are tankiest but could deal dps but for the record I did move around with scepter/staff can’t really stand still and let something like svanir wail on you with them. After many fails with svaniar I came to the conclusion I had to use a GS which I was trying to avoid lol. Greatsword was my opener with sword/shield as secondary. But this time I didn’t take hardly as much damage as I did the previous times with scepter/foucs,hammer,Staff,Mace/Shield. I actually killed him with over half of my health remaining. I was running Sigil of smoldering on all weapons/shield and rune of the guardian.

Tanky build but it did exactly what I wanted it to do which was stand there and take a beating while dealing enough dps to kill the enemy and also giving nice heals to myself. Can I get some opionions on this build please thanks
And I did regret not getting the Greatsword healing trait.. I just couldn’t squeeze it in……
Ok my mains are warrior/mesmer. I am currently working on my guardian and I have no idea what I want to do with him. I don’t want flat out dps I have that with my other 2 proffesions. I want more of a support role while maintaining power,toughness,and healing power. Is there anyway to make my guardian “self healing” without making him a flat out tank. I know people “mainly elitist” will say either go one way or the other but I am wanting a more balanced build for wvw/dungeons to be able to support my team while being able to 1v1-1v3 people and walk away from it. Any advice would be appreciated such as what I should run on armour,traits,weapons thank you ?
Please post if this works so other ppl will know to do this.
I had the same issue. I already posted on another post. Look in your Gw2 file and see if it is building up corrupted files logs. If it is your probably having the same issue as I and I ran Gw2 repair tool had to redownload 40mb worth of files. I guess something didnt take right with the patch.
Thats what I just said leo… for axe and gs. And its a fact whirling attack for gs is best for a group of enemies/a enemy that is shoved against a wall. Axe/we can and will give you more utility. Im a fan of both and its hard to say one is better over the other. Because it is situational.
Everyone has there own play style. And the highest dps is situational at best. You get higher dps with the gs if your enemy is shoved against a wall/corner. Axe/axe axe/mace axe/shield I guess has more utility in open combat than just standing there spamming 1 and 2 with the gs. Your not a troll for running axe/mace I am actually gonna run that as my secondary for dungeons. Everyone has there own play style just play however is best for you and just let “elitist” be elitists. And the axe burst attack is the most single devastating move in the game.. TO MY OPINION and I run gs.
FIXED IT! Ok I was looking threw the GW2 files and I noticed some “corrupted” files. You need to go threw and look and see if your game is building up these error logs. If it is you need to run self repair tool. My game runs like a dream now
Well lets see started right after new patch. Have been trying to get support to help me for the last few days but the only thing they seem to want to do is blame my internet/Computer for all these crashes. Lol and niether have caused any issues SINCE IVE OWNED THIS GAME for over a month. Game will run smoothly in low pop areas but when I go to la,queensdale,hoelbrak,or any other high pop area instant kick. Wierd thing is my wife can be sitting right beside me and play just fine In la or wherever and it doesn’t effect her a bit. She has to get on my account and move me out of a “bugged area” so I can continue playing and my laptop has 20 times the graphics/processing power as hers. She can even log into her account and play on my computer without a single issue of being kicked or lag. I don’t know what they did…
“Update” My wife can log onto her account on my computer and play. And then she logged into my account on her computer and played. But when I log into my account on my computer i get kicked… I’ve got a headache thinking about it Help?

Patch played fine till I got my COF heavy boots and hen BAM getting kicked every few minutes in LA till I got out to Queensdale and now I cant even get in past the QD loading area screen. I was able to get on my other characters for a while but now they get booted too. Tried everything “support” told me to do and nothings worked, anyone having same issue/know what to do to fix?
