I bet Pino used 80 tomes of knowledge, I kick people like him from my PUG fractal groups, even with a pug, a 50 takes an hour maybe. Anet please fix this, I’m tired of these noobs who can’t do anything without take a shortcut.

I only found this thread because I decided to head back to eye of north to check out skins again since I haven’t done it since launch. I am greeted with this has been disabled, google it and find out it has been broken for 3+ months?? wow

I have been playing this game since launch, and I just got sick of hearing about how you must be zerker everything, or follow the meta to be useful, or certain classes (necro, ranger) are worthless and never wanted, so I decided to start my own guild. And just in case you are wondering, my main is a war.

I have building this guild with a friend for the past month or 2, so I have a few things unlocked, like guild storage, which will be available to EVERYONE! Not just officers!

Speaking of officers I will be looking for them to help run the guild, since I do have a full time job and can’t be on all the time. Also full time rep is NOT required, I understand that you may have friends in other guilds or even at this point guild missions, since I’m still working on unlocking them. I’m not a big talker, but guild does have a raidcall server.

The first updater pulls up, does it’s small download, it then minimizes itself, I can see the progress on the windows taskbar, because windows shows the green filling up on the icon. It just sits there even when done, minimized! I click on it all day does nothing.

An i5 or better processor, stay away from anything AMD even video cards the game seem to have less issues with the NVIDIA cards. Since the game is rendered mainly in the CPU a mid level card is more than adequate for this game. It is recommended to get a solid state hard drive, this will help load in and zone times. At least 8GB of ram with Windows 7 or 8 64bit do not use the 32bit version of windows for its 3.5 memory allocation limit.

Um, NO! When this game launched I was running a gtx 670, I would have problems with the game stuttering after going to a new zone or WP for about 5 seconds, this drove me crazy. I got a 2nd card thinking it would help, no help at all, I tried out a gtx770, 780 and a 780TI, all had the same problem, I eventually gave up and just dealt with it.

About a year ago I got a R9 290x, all my stuttering is gone and game runs perfect, except the occasional crash at teq, which I blame the game engine for that.

This game is VERY cpu dependent, a better video card will help you, but definitely look at getting an i5 or i7, it will make your game run a ton better. Also in this day and age there is no point to not using a solid state, but this game is coded like garbage and you can literally run it off a usb 3.0 drive and it runs just as well.

I finally went to do this achievement tonight, and it’s still broken, seriously, wtf anet, fix this crap before you move on to another living story.

Been playing game since beta, been in several large guilds, but never really found the right one.

I’m on mostly in the late evenings pacific time, I’m looking for a guild that does guild missions on Sunday, Monday, or Thursday, in the afternoon or evening. Looking for a large guild that is social mostly. I won’t say I’m hardcore, (even though I do have about 4k hours and 14k AP). I like to log in, do my dailies, a dungeon or 2, and sometimes achievment hunt.

My main is a war, and have an 80 in every other class. I am also interested in getting into wvw, and have no problem jumping server to do it.

Recently decided to try out windows 10 tech preview, I noticed an issue after the 11/4 update, may be unrelated, but don’t remember if it happened before or after I installed Windows 10.

So, the game opens up audio plays, I’ll be in the game and the picture freezes, it acts like it’s still playing though, I can run around, use skills and can hear stuff like the game is still running, but the screen is frozen in place.

I’m currently running a R9 290x stock speeds, with the newest drivers, (updated to beta 14.9.2). Still freezing, I figure it’s just a bug that needs to be worked out so I thought I would give you guys a heads up

Looking for a late night guild, I don’t get home from work till about 10:30pm pst, and am usually on till about 3-5am.

Been playing since beta, have been in lots of different guilds and servers, currently on Kaineng, but looking to move to a higher pop server.

Also would need a guild with a higher pop that runs guild missions several times a week. Also I’m not interested in guilds that have people that get offended over EVERY little thing.

I’m mostly PVE, wouldn’t mind doing WvW sometime, but a giant zerg usually bores me.

QQ moar! Seriously, you want to just instantly have the best weapon in game and then what? Be bored again? Casually playing you can easily have a weapon in a month, if you only play lets say 1.5 hours a day, thats enough for 3 dungeons. Thats an easy 5-6G there, then a couple world bosses, theres another gold. So 7 gold a day, then multiply that by 30 days in a month, 210G, that is enough to level you to 500, assuming you played “casually” enough in the last year to get to 400. Why must kids these days have stuff instantly handed stuff to them, the anticipation of getting closer every day towards your goal is better than getting the actual weapon.

no one? I just went back there today, the second i walked over the hill and hit the area I drop to 12 fps.

I also just found out this is only happening on SOS, please fix this anet.

So I logged in this morning to do a little bit of t6 mat farming, I went to the fish oil spot in cursed shore.

As soon as I entered into the area my fps dropped to around 14, I do this often and have NEVER seen it drop like this, the area was relatively empty, only a few other players. I know someone else in my guild was complaining about the same thing. I have a pretty nice system.

This sometimes happen, but I can usually just reboot the client and it fixes it, anyone else run across this?

Looking for a sleevless coat for my male charr, if I can find something that is actually not a coat at all I would be happy. I really dont like the look. Im currently using HOTW top, which has 1 sleeve missing.

I remember at lower levels on my thief I had some tops that werent even coats, they were just tops, is there anything out there anyone can think of like this?

As someone who works in connectivity I would be willing to bet you thousands of dollars it has NOTHING to do with anet servers. It is your local network. You say everything else works just fine on the laptop, well let me expain how this works, when you pull up a webpage it pulls up info and stops. GW2 is constantly trying to hold a connection, so if you have any minor interuptions you get discconected.

Heres a easy was to find out, go into your start button/metro interface for windows 8, type cmd hit enter, that pulls up the dos prompt. now type in

Ping 8.8.8.8 -t

Let this run for about 5 minutes, if you see anything that says request timed out thats your problem. Now this can come from a anything from a bad router, to a bad cord to a bad ethernet port.

Also Im not sure of anets time before you time out, but when you run the ping test you should see pinging 8.8.8.8 and them a time and a number ending in MS. Which is miliseconds. For online gaming usually you want to maintain under 100, but thats for shooters, for gw2 im not sure the requirent, but if you start seeing pings over 500ms thats gonna be a problem also.

It’s a GW2 specific problem with nvidia drivers and gtx 6xx series.
To resolve fps drops when rotating camera:
- use nvidia drivers 306.23 or 306.63 DEV only (use Driver Sweepers for a correct installation)
- set in game reflections to “terran & sky” instead of “all”

All nvidia drivers from 306.97 to 310.xx series introduce this problem, i hope they will fix with 311.xx series

this game have issues with reflections , shaders and shadows no matter how powerful your system is … not efficient at multi-core either

i have a 6 cores ( physical) CPU and two GPU.. there is no difference in performance if i use one or two GPU… upgrading a decent GPU for another for GW2 is a waste of money .. with a intel 3930k there is nothing more you can do but to wait that A.net fix the game.

Not to be rude, but do did you actually look at any benchmarks besides some on paper specs?

well more cores may not help, but overall performance on just 1 core is a massive boost over the previous generation i7, instruction sets, architecture, all that stuff makes a huge differance.

Anyway, I OCed mine to 4ghz made no differance, I would go more but my corsair h70 really wasnt desiged for this cpu, it was desiged for my old 920. Either way, I still blame anet for this, like I said, my old 6970 never had these problems and it wasnt nearly as good of a card.

If u havnt already.. OC the CPU , i know its a PITA since 6cores produce alot of heat but it will help.
Settings wise a single 670 wont be able to handle reflections on full AND supersampling.
I sugest turning both down tbh. Native and relections on terrain and sky.

Since u build ur own rigs i presume u know enough about graphics to know how inefficient SuperSampling is dispite the good visuals, and relefctions in this game r completly stupid since they render even when u dont see them..hence the massive impact ‘all’ has on relections.

I think ull find that if ur running on compltly max setitngs. .changing those 2 things will increase ur FPS substantialy..u wil llikely still get some slow down when u enter new areas, but thats to be expected.

Thanks for the reply, Im actually running a 670 oc edition, and according to benchmarks i’ve seen it runs almost identical to a 680.

Im honostly more confused how my 6970 ran this game max settings no problem. I tried turning off reflections and couldn’t handle that, I put it on sky and terrain, and put shadows on medium, seems to run and load better. Just extremely frustrating, that this game can’t max out without problems.

I like your specs by the way, I have the same speaker setup also, but I use it on my laptop not my desktop, which I use the hdmi coming out of the video card to my stereo

By the way, do you see much of an increase when you OC your 3930k? I havent bothered cause its a pretty beastly cpu as is without OCing.

Check your GPU bus speed if its not running at x16, core parking, and turn down shadow/reflection

GW2 doesn’t use physx

Not to be rude but this seems to kinda be the standard response. Did you see the motherboard im using? It runs pci-ex 3.0. And just to make sure I fired up cpuz and yes my board is running at 16×.

So from what Im reading I basically need to turn down my settings due to poor programming, this is ridiculous. I custom build my pc’s with nice hardware so I can handle any game on max settings.

Game has been out almost 5 months it REALLY needs to be fixed.

Im having the EXACT same issue, I had a ati 6970 and upgraded to a nvidia GTX670, it constantly stutters when I enter a new area. Do you also get random fps drops for no reason? Even when you dont have alot going on?

People say its because this game is cpu bound but I know thats not the problem since Im running an intel 3930k.

I recently switched over to a gtx 670 and was wondering if anyone else has encountered this.

Whenever I load into a new area and rotate the camera it stutters horribly! After about 3-4 seconds it smooths out and is fine.

Ive also noticed frame rate drops, like down in the 10s on occasion. The rest of my pc

I even tried installing a second nvidia card (9800gt) dedicated for physx. Made no difference, I am also running the game on max settings, which my system should handle no problem.

Yes it was laggy, but better then other MMO’s I have seen during a major event like this.

You never played WoW then… Never had any lag issues during major events there…
And I’ve participated in pretty much every event, with a whole bunch of people… The worst I’ve ever experienced was 2 DCs on a Sunday with 3 overlapping events while in the major city, pretty much every player was online at that time…

The ArenaNet servers should really be upgraded for future updates/events like this…

lol, yea, im sure if guild wars 2 was using a 10+ year old game engine with charectors with 4 polygons this game would run smooth also. I wish I could have been online at the time to see this “lag” .

How about you post your pc specs and your internet provider, and please don’t tell me your using a wifi hot spot on a 500 dollar laptop.

The only issue ive had with things like this is the way they make other charectors fade in when you are practically on top of them. But I have seen other games do this FFXI was one of them. Not sure if its a limitation built into the game engine a bandwidth issue or what, but you would think they could do a better job with that for people with high end pcs and good internet connections.

This is not really a bug, but anyone can attack and move at the same time, EXCEPT a norn when you shapeshift to bear, wolf, raven, whatever.

I was pretty excited to hit 30 and use this skill, now I just avoid it, it is a complete waste, think, how useful is this in pvp, or against mobs that move around.

PLEASE change this, and allow us to move and attack at the same time.

Im looking for some runes for my CoF gear, im basically looking for pure dps, I was thinking of possibly the runes of divinity, but not sure. Any recomendations?

Im looking for an adult guild that has a decent amount of active people (100+)

Mostly im looking for a group of people to run a dungeon or 2 a night with and some organized WvW on occasion. Not big into PVP, but would enjoy occasionally doing it with an organzied group.

I have a few family members and friends taht are looking for the same also, we are curerntly on gate of madness but looking to jump servers because everyone is leaving and the server is kind of dead when it comes to organzied events.

We are not looking for a guild without drama.

I currently have a level 80 warrior with all exotics and tryin to get cof gear, but its hard to find a group.

I swapped out the video card with a same model and still getting blue screens with a nvidia error code, im gonna try a driver cleaner tonight when I get home, but im really starting to believe this is a driver issue that anet needs to look at.

I upgraded from an ati 6970, which is actually a more powerhungry card, im also using a quad rail 1,000 watt powersupply.

I exhanged the video card today and will try it when I get home, but I also ran a program called whocrashed which also pionts to a video driver issue.

so your pc isnt functioning properly and you want a refund, thats like having a broken car and wanting your gas money back, lol.

I purchased a new msi gtx 670 oc edition the other day, and Ive been running into blue screens contantly, was wondering if anyone has a clue why. Im not at home, but I will post my specs below.

I also have a intel SSD, but dont figure it has anything to do with it. Im running the most up to date drivers off nvidias website, dated september 13th I believe.

My computer will blue screen when I alt tab out of game, and as soon as I alt tab back into game it bluescreens, also it did it once when I teleported with a waypoint.

When it does I get a bluescreen with a nvlddmkm.sys error everytime, Ill post more info when I get home, but was wondering if anyone else came across it. It honostly sounds like a driver problem to me.

I have been having this issue for a while and couldnt figure out what was causing it, always randomly tabbing. Please give an option to disable right click to attack.
