It would make for an amazing vid. When the zergs would slam into each other, it looked like two huge flocks of red birds swirling around each other with a smaller flock of friendlies swooping in like hawks. With culling gone, zergs take on a strange sort of beauty.

Glad we could at least lend moral support, Kalkz. Like I said, we really didn’t pull any EBay from the fight at Eternal until it was over.

It was glorious, and all three servers showed their mettle. Props all around.

Awesome night in EBay bl last night. I’d love to say we snatched your bay because we were trying to draw you away from the big fight for SM, but the truth is, we had no idea there was a big fight at SM. We (about 8 GOATS) just headed into their map thinking to cap some supply camps and see what we could get away with. We found the entire borderlands… empty. Really empty. Ghost town empty. Rapture-and-no-one-told-us empty. There was even one poor ranger afk at a sentry, just standing in the middle of the road like his soul had been taken. Super creepy. EBay always shows up within seconds, right? Where were they? Thinking we were gonna meet massive numbers at any moment, we took all the camps, Briar, Lake, and a fully upgraded bay. By that time we’d picked up a handful of peeps from WFD, WAR, and EDGE, but I think that put our numbers at maybe 15. More like 12, because some GOATs had to work in the morning and had to leave. EBay started to trickle in, still not the numbers we’d thought would come but enough to shove us out of bay pretty quickly. We headed to Briar to dig in and hold it for as long as we could and that must have been when the mighty battle for SM ended, because… yeah.

Ebay came home, and MAN were there a lot of em. We sieged up Briar, wrote letters to our mommas and sweethearts, called out useless orders to PuGs who don’t read chat, and the battle for Briar commenced. Briar’s front lawn was a boiling mass of angry Ebayers but we were holding on when from the west came… Anvil Rock. LOTS of Anvil Rock. They smashed into the side of Ebay, tearing up their siege and chasing them clean out of sight. While those two zergs were gone, we ran and took Vale supply back and built more siege. That’s when Kalkz and Borlis’ Eternal zerg arrived. They came flying out of Vale supply, charged off to lord-knows-where, and apparently were completely pasted by Anvil. It must have been bad, because Kalkz & Co. left about three minutes later saying we were on our own. EBay came back to Briar, but AR pushed them off again before they started to hammer at Briar themselves. We pushed AR back long enough for EBay to regroup again and come slamming back into them while we held the door from all comers.

It was titanic. There should have been a sound track.

By this time there were about 10 BP peeps total to defend Briar. Ebay was tearing at the front door and Anvil was massing in the cubby. AR had lost a good few by then, so when they charged Ebay that last time, they were outgunned 2-1. It was a hellova thing to see though. They slammed into EBay’s side and shoved them to the bridge before they were wiped to a man. We didn’t see any more Anvil after that.

I’d love to say when the gate finally came down and EBay roared through, the 10 of us still held them off, but the truth is, we were so much roadkill. It was late, we were tired, and PuGs don’t read chat.

tl;dr: Awesome night in EBay bl last night.

Just to be clear, Arif Q/Child of the Atom is our own special potato. He is the one who builds useless siege in useless places to empty keeps of supply and openly brags about working with the enemy to help us lose. I doubt seriously if he does more than try to friend random EBayers to tell them where we are or what we have planned, and he could be lying about that to begin with. As stated, EBay doesn;t need spies to beat us.

No one knows why he is so angry with his server or why he didn’t move when he had the chance to do so. We have reported him ad nauseum, and ANet will deal with him when and if they see fit. Don’t let him get in your heads, it’s what he wants. Don’t let him become any sort of factor between servers, that would give him too much importance.

Edit: Also, if you see any Borlis player(s) cheating in any way, report them. ANet will decide if they were or not. Borlis as a server does not condone that sort of behavior at all.

Normally, I would agree, but has anyone else experienced popping out of a queue and having the outmanned buff? It has happened to me twice this week and I find it most perplexing.

However, I will say that there have been times when we were queued and still couldn’t do anything. This strongly hints that BP’s problems have more to do with coordination and cooperation than population. Hard to find unity when each and every guild is out to prove they are the real rock stars of the server.

I wish ANet would give us a running population count on the map. That would finally dispel these constant arguments over who has more. Perhaps it would even convince the would-be rock stars that an orchestra might be the better bet.

I have to say, those that spend their days calculating and speculating about BP’s moving up and how we compare to the servers in the upper ranks are wasting their time. Those that pat themselves on the back analyzing our style and finding it seven shades of lacking are wasting their time as well. The truth is, Borlis doesn’t care about moving up. And I can tell you that if you’re inclined to do the same to Anvil when they get here you can spare your keyboards, because they won’t care either. T6 spawned some of the most even and enjoyable matches in the entire game and taught us all that it’s not the tier you’re in, it’s the server you fight. Population is everything. the most skillful server will still tank if they don’t have the numbers. (I’m looking at you, NSP.) And a server with superior numbers will often think they are winning because of superior tactics. (cough, yeah, that was us five months ago.)

I think many folks are still in the mode of looking for the next Kaineng, but those days are over. Borlis isn’t interested in rocketing up the tiers, so we don’t care what T4 is like. We moved up because IoJ tanked, not because we were trying. Anvil is going to move up because their tier ended up lopsided and is pushing them out of the nest, too. Devonas will drop and ROFLstomp T6 because they don’t belong there either. T6 will wobble the way T5 did for so long until another top tier server pancakes and Ebay moves up. That’s just the way things go now.

The rankings say we belong in T5, so here is where we are, here is where we’re gonna try and stay, and here is where we plan to have fun.

I can understand why Ebay is frustrated, they are a T4.5 server, and so are stuck in between tiers. If you miss the matchups in T4, then by all means, do whatcha gotta do to get back there. Or maybe just hang out and wait for SoS to drop some more and haul you back up.

As for us, we don’t care how we compare to Yaks or CD because we’re not facing them and prolly never will. We just want to have fun.

If Ebay honestly thinks we have equal populations then our skill-less server is good for bamboozling you folks at least.

I can so see us now, AR and BP skipping along and singing all one of Carly Rae Jepsem’s greatest hits as we bash EBay together. Then, as all the green disappears from every map, we all laugh and smile and then… turn on each other like rabid animals while EBay takes everything back. Ah, fun times are comin’…

I think this is true of most servers. I suspect we’ll all see a spike after the new WvW patch, and then it will be up to Anet as to whether or not they drift away again.

End result was all the pugs flocking to where golems were spotted and it seeming like we had a large, coordinated golem rush at 2AM. Pugs disperse as soon as the bay’s taken, frustrated commander doesn’t want to even try to deal with them, and BP now has a large group in one place with nothing else to do than move forward.

Pretty much, but you have to add that we were also pumped, perturbed, and paranoid…

The last time we faced you we ended up a hood ornament, and you made sure to let us know at every opportunity just how unworthy you thought we were. We’ve lost people since then. We expected to be pasted this week because IoJ’s free fall pushed us up. You remember that scene in LotR when the people were preparing for the Battle of Helms Deep? That was us all day before reset on Friday. We hoped only to be able to hold up our heads and say we did our best. Well, now you are enjoying the results of our best.

Y’all launched a Golem rush in the middle of the night, turned half our map green, and have the nerve to whine about us PvDooring? We’re a “garbage” server for retaliating? Oh, it’s on.

I think you should look to your own for the reasons why you are doing so badly. Where are your self-described “superior numbers and tactics” now? You are obviously not the server you once were. Enjoy T5, because I don’t think you will be seeing T4 again any time soon. It is my fondest wish to ROFLstomp you and shove you down into T6 because, frankly, Anvil Rock was the better fight.

Shouldn’t this be NSP vs. AR round 2 now?

Will be “interesting” if we end back in T5, BP lost a lot of the numbers that brought us up there the first time. I imagine we might find ourselves in the position NSP is in: Can’t quite hang in one tier but don’t really belong in the tier below.

T5 is whacked. It’s always dominated by the one team that doesn’t fit in T4 that week, with the other two teams having no clue how they stack up against each other because they can barely get out of their own citadel. Well, at least free transfers are over with, so if we end up as Ehmry’s hood ornament again, guild-wide tantrums will be expensive. I don’t mind losing a good fight when I know we’ve put in our best effort. I just can’t stand week-long rounds of ROFLstomping. Moving up because we worked hard to get there instills confidence. Moving up because IoJ blows chunks instills this:

Good week, peeps. Gratz to AR for an awesome push out of 3rd place. Was worried about you for the first few days, but figured you just needed a bit of a rest after the week before. Good job on NSP’s lead early on. I think it’s safe to say that on weekends, during primetime NA, your numbers are just fine. If you could get them to stop evaporating during the workweek, you’d be golden. And, as always, I’m proud of my Borlis.

I am the leader of a small guild on Ferguson’s Crossing. We have been there since the 3 day head start and have all the upgrades but are just completely tired of being so outnumbered in WvW. It’s making people start to hate Guild Wars. We have been looking at this Tier and it looks like you guys have the most balance in WvW. I know that leaving means we will lose all of our influence and upgrades for the guild but like I said, we are just tired of being rolled over in WvW. All I ask is which server do you think would be a good fit for our guild in this Tier?
