Just want to sneak back in and give the devils their due. BP moved up to the next tier, and we were totally ready to get spanked by the harder servers until we learned new strategies. Not happening. It seems in the weeks (years?) that GoM, AR, and BP fought each other, we all learned to bring our A game every day and every night. After a few days of fighting SF and HoD, many of us BPers are seriously underwhelmed. HoD is mostly missing in action, and even though SF can field huge numbers of people, they have no organization at all, so fighting off their superior numbers is child’s play after facing down ten AR golems at once.
There is not one thief in the new match up that can hold a candle to the least GoM thief, nor do these teams have anything resembling your cunning. And AR? Our entire concept of defense was built around your strategic offenses. Now it feels like it’s wasted on these guys. Seven of us slapped back 20 SFers at Lake, something we could never have done against either of your teams.
So if any of you are worried about moving up a tier, don’t be. Our three teams banged heads for weeks and forced each other to adapt, strategize, and grow. The difference for us with these other teams is almost painful. Two days in, and they seem to have just given up the maps.
We already warned the QQing SFers that there’s a good chance they will see Borlis and Anvil next week, and then they won’t know what hit them. I, for one, am looking forward to it.
So here’s to you guys. You’re the stronger teams, by far. GoM just needs to cultivate its PvEers and teach them what you already know. Expand your roster, you already have the talent. AR just needs to punch numbers and rack up points, there’s enough of you to do the job. You are both already better than you realize.
Meet you at the top…
I just started seeing this happen this week when we started playing Sorrow’s Furnace. It was always in the heat of battle, so I wasn’t sure what was going on. Seems kinda stupid to me. The time it takes to log back in and get back to WvW would make it seem tedious. Why bother? To deny me a badge? I can always get another. To save yourself paying to fix armor? It’s not real money, peeps. If you’re trying to troll me, I’m too ADD to care.
Assume we have learned to work together since our last match up. The last time we played you, most of us were noobs and had no idea what we were doing, and no cohesion. It’s a whole new ballgame now.
Just to set the record straight, my problem wasn’t that they all looked tarty, some of them look like monks’ robes. I just… don’t always want a skirt.
Voonith said it best, in GW1, I had a hard time choosing which I liked best. In this one, I feel like I am constantly settling for meh. I don’t want tights with a cheerleader skirt, nor do I want baggy sweat pants with an apron on backwards. There’s a ton of great pants out there for the mediums, they just get hidden by long coats. Look at those, and give us a pair for light.
@Diggy: Are you saying that I could buy the Krytan set at a low level and just trans stone it up the line? Please say this is verified truth, because I will go buy that rightthisecond.
Hysterical lesson for the new recruits tonight. Been having trouble keeping our enthusiastic, but uneducated, BPers from chasing into spawn points, so Commander Dtc Justice had us form up and charge. Some folk gotta learn by doing, and some Commanders are willing to go the distance…
30 BP soldiers entertained a very confused AR Thief tonight.

@Dovgan “Those are probably some of the golems I build. I make 15 to 20 a day to let people play around in them.
Where they go after they are built doesn’t really matter much to me.”
First off, how kewl are you? I think that’s awesome. Second, can I have your money? Because you obviously have too much. Seriously tho, as one who pretty much only defends BP home turf, I have been wondering what the heck was up with the sudden golem plague. That answers that question.
I have been reading through the posts from this week, and I have to put in my two cents. There’s lots of conspiracy theories about AR and BP, or GoM and BP working together. That’s just not true. There is plenty of woe on our side decrying the never-ending alliance between GoM and AR. Coincidence is a kitten.
Do we have superior numbers? Only in this last week have I seen a sudden surge in strange names and guild tags, and I will second Plok: You can have a good chunk of them back. They are combative, foul-mouthed, and extremely disruptive. You lost no asset, and we do not thank you for them. Aside from that, we have seen a slow and steady growth, not just in player coming from PvE, but in our own players finding where they fit in the structure. Teamwork is what is making Borliss Pass a solid competitor. When AR threw all those golems at our Garry (twice) this week? Our map was mostly unmanned. The fact was, our communication was such that Daiosho only had to spend 15 second spamming a message on his friend list for all of us to descend. It was a hell of a battle, and the numbers were a dead match. The only reasons why we beat 10 golems that had broken into the lord’s room was loyalty and dedication.
Engender that and you will go far.
My two cents: I have been running with MF armor for a while now, and I really don’t see the benefit of it outside of more dye drops. I think complaints against it are overblown and faith in it is misplaced. I ran a dungeon in my MF and walked out with pockets bulging with needles and blue drops. Ran the same dungeon two days later in my exotics and walked out with three yellow. I have put my MF armor away for good.
I mean, seriously. Can we have just one dang pair of plain, ole’ pants for the light-armored characters? Especially for the girls? I know the ratio of women to men in this game is unbalanced, but must it be so completely obvious that no women were consulted in the making of armor designs?
It’s not even a question of too much skin showing, because some of this stuff looks dowdy as heck. The closest I can come to not having a skirt on my character is Harem pants (rly? who thinks this stuff up?), the skin you buy with gems, or the pair that comes with tail feathers. (o.O) I was initially excited to see the skin in the BLTC because there was no skirt at all (gosh! It looks almost like my necro armor from GW1!) until a closer look revealed it was actually a pair of panties and leggings held up by a garter belt.
Awesome.
Not.
I’m not saying you should change the existing armor at all. Lots of guys like dressing their female characters up in ways that take the boredom out of life. I get that. But I’m sure these same guys wouldn’t mind seeing their characters zipping around in some nice, snug slacks and a pair of kicky boots. The Krytan set for the Mediums is perfect. I have been saving up my coppers for when my Engineer gets to level 80 because she will look awesome in it. And she has the option of Duelist as well. But my Necro? Poor baby gets the shaft. Her choices are Demented Cheerleader, Pole Dancer, Mother Superior, or a Tulip.
And while I’m asking for the moon, can we have an outfit for the male Mediums that doesn’t come with a coat? My Thief has a nice bum, and I don’t think guys should have all the viewing pleasure.
Tnx.
