Vs Mesmer: Thief Perspective?

1. What is the first thing that comes to mind when you’re about to face a Mesmer?
-The same thing that comes to mind when fighting any other profession, trying to as quickly as possible notice all the little things that could reveal what build they have and how skilled they are.
2. How do you feel about your odds of winning?
-Depends on what I gathered from my first thoughts answered in the first question, just as I would any other profession.
3. Strategies and tactics?
-Depends on my currently build, followed by adjusting depending on what I’ve learned from them in last few seconds.
4. Which type of Thief build do you feel best fights Mesmer?
-This changes greatly between mesmer builds.
5. What Thief skills (weapon or utility) are most important to have in this fight?
-This feels silly to answer.
6. How do you feel about Mesmer in general? I respect them more than I respect warriors, guardians, necros, rangers…. Skill level needed just to be effective is greater than those 4. Don’t rage, I was asked and I honestly answered.

The fact that they’ve never addressed this for the last 2yrs, regardless of the endless frustration about this trait, tells us that is it intended.

Once again its an l2p issue. Even if you are revealed you can still survive. Not being invisible doesn’t mean death. Also did you just say you triple dodge while you play? Typycal random dodger QQing about a trait being broken .

You did not read the entire post. That was not L2P. Duh it doesn’t. 0/0/0/3/0 Lets you dodge 3 times without choice so that was a MAJOR unrealistic assumption. Basically every sentence you made was just… You’re a joke.

Don’t bother feeding the local troll. Just pat him on the head and smile.

I like to play, for example I already showed him he was irrelevant, whether or not he can comprehend that is another story.(BRING ON THE FLAME!)

I’m not a troll , im being very serious about what I say. No offense but it is a player skill issue. There’s plenty of good thieves that never die because of that trait . And most complains come from full SA WvW thieves which doesn’t surprise me if they die to this trait.

The problem with Last refuge is only L2P, I mean as a guard player, it’s totally my fault Virtue of Justice active sets me on fire occasionaly and kills me, if I was gud, I’d L2P around it. Right?

You have no idea what we are talking about for you to think this update fixed it. The update just made it more likely as a matter of fact.

Im norhing close to being a pro theif. I dont usually have problems with this trait, ori dont notice that i do. However i do realise the potential harm it can cause as the skill wont interrupt anymore. Needs fixing somehow.

It’s an EXTREMELY rare occurance because it requires very unique situational circumstance. You also don’t comprehend it either if you think this update fixed it. I’m not trying to be rude but… You’re not helping. Wasted space. Confusing people. So on.

It’s a trait that is supposed to help keep you alive that in certain situations can leave you in a tough spot. Older/more skilled players know enough to work around it by now. The question is should they have to be doing so in the first place?

THANK YOU. THANK YOU. Finally someone points out the obvious that no one else here is seeing. I shouldn’t have to be at 70% health, see a burst, go to save myself only to be killed by something that was suppose to help, but did the opposite. Could not have been predicted or judge considering the circumstance. I was at 70% health in celestial VS 1 player. I didn’t know how bursty he was or how much he would do. What am I suppose to be psycic? Am I suppose to never cloak and dagger if i’m at 70% or lower? Give me a break. Yes I could have not chose cloak and dagger but why blow a utility when I still had the initiative and a clone in my face. This situation is a joke and being argued with for it is a joke. LOL. Thank you.

I wanted to point out as well that the complaints mostly do come from WvW thieves but consider that in WvW #1 The damage is higher #2 There are possibly more that 5 people hitting you at a time. Just makes the prevalence of getting spiked down to 25% that more common than in PvP settings.

None of you guys noticed the OP said “No option to turn auto attack off?” Sounds like a l2p issue to me. Control – right click auto attack skill, there you go.

WAIT A MINUTE… There are no options for it ingame… thus no access to even knowing about the key code unless someone outside of the game find out about it… is willing to tell people… happens to meet you… and is happening to whitness your need for that specific piece of knowledge. TOTALLY. Totally L2P. Bro, dude, fail epic… so on. People should be able to play to L2P. Not know random crap that was found outside of the game or told by another. Not L2P but thanks because you were useful to me. Kitten.

CLOSED THREAD. Got what I needed.

Balance issue, I’m up to par with professional FPS gamers. Please take seriously.

Last Refuge: First trait in shadow arts that is NOT OPTIONAL. If you have a single thing in shadow arts, you have this. At 25% health you drop blinding powder.
Auto attack:No option to turn auto attack completely off.

SCENARIO:
While in structured PVP, a place of balance and skill, a celestial thief is fighting a berzerk mesmer. Thief is at 70% health and the mesmer decides to burst, seeing the burst coming the thief smartly decides to cloak and dagger wanting to keep as much of that 70% as possible. “Last Refuge” decides to pop itself with no time for any human to cancel the cloak/dagger. To no fault of your own, having made the most logical decision at the time, you are stuck out of stealth for 4 seconds and below 25% health, you dodge 3 times and teleport away to give some breathing room for a few moments to let an important cooldown finish up. You steal in, having every buff possible for steal, including gaining stealth on steal. Your pistol auto attack broke stealth when you never hit to do anything other than steal, you are now dead on the ground. Never being able to activate stealth all on the internal workings of thief screwing up in ways that are not intended. IF THIS IS INTENDED…. PLEASE, DO TELL. Those were all very rational split second decisions.

Discuss. Does this need fixed? Let us know! Even with all of this this… if you are still going to try and knock it, just think… Is it really so wrong of me to want to turn off auto attacking completely? Is it really so wrong of me to want a trait completely turned off even if nothing took it’s place? ANSWER THAT. <.< This needs fixed.

-I’m able to shadow step through a bridge and walk around on the insides of it.
-I’m able to operate siege without taking certain forms of damage and without my name or body being visible to enemies.
-I’m able to recreate this glitch at will.
-Developers feel free to contact me, I can show you myself doing the glitch.
