I don’t really understand the aggro system in this game.

I’ll be the focus of a boss for about about half the fight then it’ll randomly target someone else, then back to me.

Is it damaged based? If it is, how do tanky guardians work? Is it completely random? How do you de-aggro something if you’re low hp and endurance?

Please someone, tell me how aggro works in guild wars 2!

At level 80, Cursed Shore is where everyone goes to do events. At prime-time it gets so crowded though that it’s difficult to even tag the mobs.

No one seems to go to the other Orr zones, and the dragon events are the only events outside of Orr that get attention.

Can you make it so it’s worthwhile to do events in all or most of the zones? I love this game’s world, and to be stuck in Orr (the cursed shore really) is a shame.

Make a daily zone that gives the same rewards as an 80 zone, scale down gear a bit more in the lowest level zones for 80 players and make them have equal rewards, make event grouping a big deal so you can form them in cities and go out in the world like a dungeon group! Stuff like that.

I’m not saying my idea’s are good, but I hate being stuck in one area especially when the rest of the world is as amazing as gw2’s.

I was a MM in gw1, and was hoping to be one in guild wars 2. I know the game is totally different and would change how it works, but I’m always a pet class in mmo’s so I didn’t mind.

I don’t find the necromancer’s pet spec in gw2 fun. It’s clunky and even more tedious than in gw1.

The pet’s die very fast. In dungeons AoE will destroy them. Most other mmo’s have a 90% reduction to AoE because pets wont move out of it like players. It would make sense in this game too.

Not all pets regen HP out of combat. This is annoying because our CD will reset once they die, not from the last cast.

It’s hard to control them. You can’t really focus your pets on a target, esp in longer fights with target changes. The pet dmg isn’t very high but when they work together it would make sense, but you can’t really get them to do that unless you’re solo pve.

Those are the general ideas of why it’s not fun, but you can go into even smaller detail and I’m sure people have already on the forum.

I know you’ll say omg go play another class. I do. I have 2. But MM necromancer was what I was looking forward to months before release. I’m just disappointed.

no, I can kill all these classes just fine. my classes are strong, I’m just pointing out some issues. I never said Ranger is OP, I said binding root is buggy and difficult to destroy unless you can just swing a melee weapon and hit it. Please everyone, read my post and dont assume anything. It’s pretty upfront.

And for mesmers, I agree that phantasms are just a spell, but that spell is too strong or too frequently used with ease to be balanced imo.

can responses to this be more specific. I’m focusing on pretty specific issues to some classes in pvp.

And I haven’t played necro, I have a guardian and elementalist. I just sympathize with ranged user’s esp necro because condition builds have a lot of issues atm

Hi! I’ve noticed as people get better at their classes these particular trends keep coming up more often.

Most importantly Thief burst out of stealth is way too high. Assassin’s Signet and a lot of the traits in the Critical Strikes line are to blame for this. The lag issue with stealth is also troubling but that’s okay for now because I’m sure that’s a getting fixed technical issue. When Thief steals from a necromancer, the fear the thief get’s lasts 4 seconds, and in this game, the thief can kill you before the fear ends.

Mesmer’s phantasms are too strong and are much more terrifying than the actual mesmer. Also Moa lasts a bit too long

Warrior’s Kill Shot is normally okay when it’s a small fight because you can keep an eye on the warrior for a long cast, but in wpvp, you’re going to take around half your health out of nowhere and that can be very frustrating.

Ranger’s Binding Root is hard to target and is harder for ranged classes to get out of because of cast times on attack. Necromancer has it even worse because conditions don’t effect it.

As more people notice these class strengths, they’ll become the cookie cutter builds and the required abilities and traits of the classes. Then the imbalances will be obvious, I’m just trying to give a heads up to the dev’s so that it doesn’t go on too long and get my 2 cents in now instead of later :]

I want to make a support elementalist with condition damage. The closest gear combo is Shaman, but that doesn’t exist on level 80 armor, just weapons. And I’d rather have toughness than vitality anyway… >_<

I think the main issue that needs to be addressed is the lack of gear available for condition builds.

Not enough Prefixes / Insignias! Crests are useless!

totally agree. Some classes have a much easier time setting up their gear. I really would love healing power/condition damage/toughness for a condition support healing build on my elementalist, but it doesn’t exist :/

So many necessary combos are missing imo.

yeah, it was really easy to gear my guardian at 80 because burn doesn’t stack, so I don’t worry about condition damage and power gear is everywhere.

I feel bad for necromancers. I’m gearing an elementalist next, and I would love to go earth with condition dmg, but at least I have alternatives.

Some classes have a much easier time getting their starter gear than others, and some don’t even get to get the gear they want at all.

I would like to have Toughness/Healing Power/Condition Damage at level 80, but it doesn’t exist.

Condition Damage combo’s are lacking everywhere and necromancers probably have the toughest time gearing. I’m trying to gear an earth based elementalist, but I don’t see the point of making that now because I’m going to need to take Power instead of condition damage.

Why is gear like this? I thought this game was just going to be like GW1 anyway and just be cosmetic, but instead this is the most I’ve ever had to worry about gearing in any MMO. I don’t really mind gearing so much, but make it a little more organized and balanced for everyone if you’re going to do it.

Get rid of the constant diminishing returns throughout the game!

Just from reading the first page, the amount of ignorance alone is overwhelming in this thread. You see things like, well I’m level 10 and I haven’t seen this problem so you shouldn’t have “powered” through to level 80 and enjoyed the game more or “you shouldn’t kill monsters fast because I don’t know how and it makes me angry you found a way to effectively farm items”

People are going to arrive at level 80 at different times, there is going to be some initial housekeeping items that a fresh 80 is going to want to do – sPVP, WvW, Exotic set, Some Explore Dungeons, 100% Map Complete, the list goes on. Well let me tell you, that when you are done with those initial tasks you will understand completely what the OP is talking about. I currently have 100% world completion, my full exotics and backups, and working my way towards my legendary and I’m by no means some ridiculous hardcore gamer that only plays GW2 all day. The OP is correct, and some of you low levels, or fresh 80’s who are reading this thread will soon realize – The DR system needs to go. It’s a poor way to get rid of bots, control the economy, and poor philosophy in general. When you start seeing some skins of cool looking exotics or legendaries that you may want to farm up for, you will go try to collect some items naturally and realize that you hit the cap in a matter of minutes and get crap loot for a long duration. I even wear 166% Magic Find so I hit the cap from farming within -minutes- of beginning to farm.

Fix this system now, remove it completely – Add a captcha every 30 minutes that pops up for farmers, I don’t care. I see more and more people complaining on a day to day basis because more people hitting 80, realizing these systems are in place, and getting very annoyed when they want to gather items of any kind.

This. I hate these kind of systems. You never punish the player like that.

Halla Corpseflayer Event

I’m sure a few people will take advantage of it like that, and that’s why the event needs to be changed. It blocks progression of the quest line too. It really is just bad design for a world event.

Going in and killing mobs is the norm for events, and when one changes that up, and you kill mobs and get called an exploiter, it’s really annoying. I don’t think it’s something you’d get banned for, but it upsets new players to the event, and people trying to progress the actual quest line and finish the event.

It’s way too complicated.

The Halla Corpseflayer event is causing a lot of serious issues.

It breaks the flow of open world events of killing mobs. You have to let mobs get close to her and she enrages, instead of just killing mobs yourself like most other events.

I went there today and started killing mobs and someone said they took a screenshot of everyone doing that and reported them for exploiting.

I didn’t read the event description (Like most people in open world event zerging) and was just playing the game like normal, and now I’m accused of exploiting about 2 minutes after joining in on the event.

A lot of people on the map chat were talking about this and I’m sure many people on all servers are affected.

Please change this event. It’s too easy to exploit and I’m sure most of the people exploiting it have no idea that they are. It’s just a poorly designed open world event.

I really don’t understand why dot’s only stack to 25 and only one burn can happen. It’s so frustrating.

And the lag in the fight was gone after the dragon left even with all the people still there, so it’s all the dragon being bugged I think.

Guardian Traits - Honor XII

The Guardian trait in the Honor tree “Battle Presence” (number XII) gives people around you the Virtue of Resolve passive heal.

The problem is that the reapply of the buff of people around doesn’t hit right and it skips a couple ticks of heal from the passive and flashes IMMUNE on everyone around me. It’s pretty annoying.

It also will show IMMUNE over other heals during fights and I wont really know if I healed someone.

Please fix this.

So many events in Orr have bugged out and stopped progressing.

I’m afraid to even go there because some that get stuck send in tons of never ending mobs and a lot of people are scared of getting in trouble for exploiting.

Other times, escort quests stop moving and stops progression of the entire chain of events, and some bosses get stuck on walls.

Please fix Orr.
