You’ll certainly get one if you send a support ticket within a day. Anet support says that they’ll send chests to anyone who participated in the event, so in your situation, you qualify even if you weren’t DCed.

Still haven’t gotten anything, and I participated in the event and didn’t get to loot the chest due to lag (FPS was down to 9, not a joke) and invisible mobs. What is going on here, did I just get ignored? Has everyone who is going to get the compensation chest already got it?

It shouldn’t be a problem quantity-wise, because I (and many others, from what I’ve seen on forums) seem to have gotten more Basic Transmutation Stones than we know what to do with. I’ve used quite a few so far and I still have 26 extras of them lying around at the mo. And, I haven’t purchased a single one of them from the gem store.

Well, now I’m terrified to even do a dungeon run.

I haven’t gotten around to doing that particular part of the game yet, which is probably why I haven’t had any run-ins with rude people. In general, except for a particularly nasty guy who I saw once making fun of non-English speaking players and typing in allcaps (I’m on an EU server), the experience I’ve had with GW2 people has been nothing but positive. Some players have even gone out of their way to help me on several occasions. Far better than the Diablo 3 crowd.

What about people like me who spent 2+ hours participating and suffering through the Ancient Karka event’s massive rubber-banding and lag, and didn’t get to loot the chest because I quit halfway through due to the game being truly unplayable? Will we get the compensation (yes, I read the other thread) or is it just for those who got disconnected right before the chest?

Possible ban?

I wasn’t sure if this has already been answered, but I want to know if it’s possible to get banned for playing from the same account in different countries.

I visit family in the States for Christmas for a month each year, and I want to play a bit of GW2 while I’m there, but I’m a resident of France. I can understand that this may look like hacking to someone on the Anet team examining logins and timestamps if, for example, they see a login from Paris on one day and a login from California on the following day. The time difference between the West Coast USA and CET (Central European Time) is pretty huge as well, so my login “patterns” would be 10+ hours different than usual.

So – should I go cold-turkey from GW2 while I’m in the States or should I not worry at all?

Ancient Karka? The First Good Boss Battle?

Am I the only one who had to quit the Ancient Karka battle a little over halfway through? The lag was so massive that I was being killed by invisible creatures and teleported from point to point on the map randomly…my FPS was at an all-time low of 10. I’d hit a command button only to actually perform the attack a minute and a half afterwards. It was just miserable. Even during the dragon events it’s nowhere near this bad.

@ Desova.5821 what did you do after you was change to hack status? because that same thing happen to me and they haven’t restore my status. they said is suspended. Idk what to do next.

I waited and had dinner, and when I was finished eating, my account had been restored. I think working hours have just begun on the West Coast USA where they are, so they’re probably more active at the moment.

Prinzkaos, and everyone else here who has been wrongfully banned, I am giving a detailed list of my updates to the support team, because I hope they will help you get your accounts reinstated in a more timely fashion:

- Specific dates, times and descriptions of what you were doing right up to the point of your ban
- Your serial number
- Your purchase number (you should see this on your receipt email if you purchased a digital copy)
- Date of purchase and date you began to play
- Your location in the world and time zone
- Date and status (cleared, pending?) of being charged on your bank account for purchase of the game
- Names, classes, races, and levels of your characters
- Any possible “sketchy” people that you may have added or played with (as your memory permits)
- Type of computer and OS you are using, or if you are using multiple computers to play, like I am
- Possible IP address conflicts due to the server(s) you are using
- Mention Razer mouse or high-end keyboard, if you use them or not
- Screenshots of your login error screen

Apologies if the list is a bit TL;DR, but this is what I told Support and got unbanned with.

Well, I have been changed from Blocked/Suspended Account to Hacked but thats all the news I have so far, anyone else with this same problem? Though that does not make much sense due to me being banned almost instantly when I was still in the game, but either way anyone else have this problem?

Yes. I had the change to “hacked status” earlier tonight, and within an hour or two of the change, I was unbanned. Not saying to get your hopes up, but it may be a good sign.

Can I fill a complaint @ BBB too, although I’m from Germany?

I say we try and tell honestly we are Europeans but the complaint is about an American company. Might be handy to tell we launched it to support the complaints they already received from several Americans

I’m not sure that the BBB will take complaints about GW2, because I’m reasonably certain that NCSoft (of which ANet is a subsidiary) is Korean. I know it’s tough when in this situation, but try to keep a civil tongue in mind when you’re writing them, because apparently they auto-delete anything with profanity in it. Personally, I don’t think I’ll be participating, because all I want to forget about this entire debacle and put it in the past…

Ok, so my status has just been changed to “we have determined that an unauthorised individual has been accessing your account” or something of that sort. What’s clear is that I’m no longer permabanned. Is this a good sign, for those of you who have been unbanned? After support will go through to you and answer your ticket they also lift usually permaban state so you can create support account or use if you already have and there you will be able to check history. I think AN ddidnt plan to lift permabans so if you permabanned all features liske support account etc are blocked. At least you should go from status permabanned to hacked or else then support will work even when you can not play game you will be still able to use support account …

Olo, my status is permabanned since Monday, and I was still able to create a support account and I can still access it at this moment, even if I’m not able to play the actual game.

Also, someone asked about emailing GW2 support – if you reply to your ticket confirmation in your email, you can indeed communicate with them via that method (which I did successfully). Just check in your support account that your “updates” are registering properly.

Wouldn’t let me create a Support Account and not that worried about it but I did use the tip and respond to their email with updated/more info

You may receive an email within the next few hours inviting you to create a support account, because that’s how I was able to create mine – first I filed a ticket, then I updated my ticket using a reply email, and shortly thereafter received a response with the support account invitation. It’s my bad that I didn’t clarify that.

That was sarcasm, about my smoking breaks. Apologies if this comes off as a bit aggressive, but please show some consideration for those of us who are somewhat stressed at this time about losing hundreds of hours (and possibly, for those of us who bought gems, real money) spent on our characters.

I honestly don’t know what got me banned, but clearly something I’ve been doing has been setting off alarm bells and I can’t, for the life of me, figure out what it could be.

Cmon forum mod please read this thread.. forward this issue. look at this guy. He’s a bot? EXACT same issue as mine..powerlving characters at dynamic events is not a crime lol. SO what if we fall asleep or go to bio or in my case SMOKE. Wife wont let me smoke inside.. so I afk between events in a safe place and go smoke.

This. I can’t be playing my character (I “park” her in a safe town area) when I’m having a cigarette for 5 to 10 minutes because I’m too busy smoking. AFK but in no way “in action”. Now that you mention it, I don’t know if this is what got me banned, my smoking breaks?

I feel your pain, Jonathan, my boyfriend won’t let me smoke inside the flat either.

I also have a 13-inch Macbook Pro OMG they must be banning us for buying 13-inch MacBooks instead of 15-inch ones. Comrades I think we have solved the problem! I kid I kid… I’ll show myself out.

Seriously though, I fail to see why a botter would use the Mac Beta and a 13-inch Macbook Pro. Mine heats up so badly when I’m playing GW2 that I can’t possibly run any programs simultaneously for fear of the thing spontaneously combusting.

Fellow “banned-for-botting” person here.

I only have one character, a Charr Guardian, level 80. That day, I had indeed played a little longer than usual and was farming Cursed Shore (both mats and the dynamic events) from noon until 18h. I logged into the game again at 21h30-ish, killed a few Undead, then warped to the Melandru temple to help someone who had asked in Map Chat. We didn’t have enough people to bring the boss down, so I started to run off to farm Mithril and Orichalcum. I was underwater near the temple gathering Mithril when I got banned at approximately 21h50/22h.

Like the person above, I’m using the Mac Beta. I’d think that THAT is a sure sign of a non-bot…anyhow, I have no amazing advanced gamer equipment that can churn out macros like a Razer Naga mouse or one of those keyboards. I play for half the time on a Mac desktop and the other half on a 13-inch Macbook Pro with a terrible little Microsoft wireless el-cheapo travel mouse. What kind of bot uses a 13-inch Macbook Pro and a travel mouse? Seriously.

Forgot to add: I was having massive lag issues during my second login for the day, could be a case of this “rubber-banding” that you describe

It’s been 2 days now and no response…

Ticket number #121112-002832, banned for a false accusation of botting. I submitted it on the 12th of November and it wasn’t included in today’s updated numbers, which were supposed to cover 10 to 12 Nov. Really starting to get concerned here.

Anyone here have any success calling Arenanet/NCSoft regional numbers from outside of the USA? I’m an expat in France, playing on Vabbi, an EU-International home world, and to call Austin, Texas (judging by the area code) would cost an arm, a leg and a kidney.

It’s progress that we now have a number and an address, though, even if it’s just for “billing and fraud”. Might try calling it if I have no other choice in a week.

Wish I had someone to wait this out with…my boyfriend is still happily running around in-game. Guess he didn’t get caught by the banhammer because he’s more than 50 levels below me, wears generic-coloured armour, plays warrior class, didn’t do any of the Halloween events, and never uses the trading post. Sarcasm but not joking, unfortunately.

That’s irony if I ever saw it, is he called “tyujdkf” xD
I’m joking of course but it might be better for him to avoid Orr as he levels just in case….

Hahaha, actually, that’s the only part of his botter appearance that’s missing. He has one of those clearly fantasy usernames that he’s been using since he started WoW years back.

He’s been reading up on all of us angry people who have been permabanned for nothing, and has his mind pretty much made up that he’s avoiding Cursed Shore once he hits level 80. That’s going to be tough, seeing that a lot of the story quests are in there. What irony indeed.

Unfortunately it seems other areas aren’t safe either now….best stay in LA to be completely safe since bots don’t enter there :P

My goodness, imagine playing all of GW2 in Lion’s Arch. Dynamic Quest idea: run from Mystic Forge to the Asura Gates and back again. Over and over again! Not particularly dynamic, now is that.

This heavy sarcasm isn’t directed at you, it’s just that I’m terribly irritated with the fact that the only real action that I can take is to chainsmoke my last few cigarettes, sit like a useless lump and wait for a support email that may never arrive. Of course, perhaps it’s safer this way, because if there were a phone number to call, I would probably be yelling myself blue in the face at this moment to some poor customer support guy.

So everyone who is having these. What other games you play? It is time to start looking at a new game, I have d3, sc2, but I can reactivate my wow, starwars, and eve accounts.
But have no problem buying a new game if we can get a following.
I could jump into GW1 but I am so mad at NCSoft I do not want to even think about that one..

Anyways If yall are up for it we can form a NCSoft Botters guild somewhere.

We can also play Wow up to level 20 for free. Otherwise I need to go out and get MOP
Fps are good too. BF1942 is free today, and there is a space sim Wing Commander out there

If I miss the Lost Shore event because of this foolishness, I’m joining you in WoW. Not really an FPS or sci-fi kind of girl though, honestly So the pickings are a bit slim when it comes to good MMOs, for me at least. Also playing the latest Assassin’s Creed at the mo, but it can’t hold a candle to how much fun I was having in GW2 until this happened. The players in general are so nice and helpful here compared to the “kids” in D3 hahah

Perma-banned about half an hour ago in Cursed Shore for “botting”. I was mining Mithril Ore near one of the temples when my game terminated with the error message. I’ve never used a botting program in my life, I’m not technologically skilled enough to do so. I only play with a few people, of whom I am sure none are bots/using bot programs, because one of them is my live-in boyfriend. I wasn’t one of the karma weapon exploiters, nor have I said anything offensive to anyone in chat. I am terrified that my 200+ hours of gameplay (read: hard work) are going to be for absolutely nothing. How long does it take on average to receive a response?

Edit: Forgot to mention that I bought my digital copy of Guild Wars 2 from the official GW2 website, and I have the mobile authenticator enabled.
