Wish I had someone to wait this out with…my boyfriend is still happily running around in-game. Guess he didn’t get caught by the banhammer because he’s more than 50 levels below me, wears generic-coloured armour, plays warrior class, didn’t do any of the Halloween events, and never uses the trading post. Sarcasm but not joking, unfortunately.
That’s irony if I ever saw it, is he called “tyujdkf” xD
I’m joking of course but it might be better for him to avoid Orr as he levels just in case….Hahaha, actually, that’s the only part of his botter appearance that’s missing. He has one of those clearly fantasy usernames that he’s been using since he started WoW years back.
He’s been reading up on all of us angry people who have been permabanned for nothing, and has his mind pretty much made up that he’s avoiding Cursed Shore once he hits level 80. That’s going to be tough, seeing that a lot of the story quests are in there. What irony indeed.
Unfortunately it seems other areas aren’t safe either now….best stay in LA to be completely safe since bots don’t enter there :P
My goodness, imagine playing all of GW2 in Lion’s Arch. Dynamic Quest idea: run from Mystic Forge to the Asura Gates and back again. Over and over again! Not particularly dynamic, now is that.
This heavy sarcasm isn’t directed at you, it’s just that I’m terribly irritated with the fact that the only real action that I can take is to chainsmoke my last few cigarettes, sit like a useless lump and wait for a support email that may never arrive. Of course, perhaps it’s safer this way, because if there were a phone number to call, I would probably be yelling myself blue in the face at this moment to some poor customer support guy.
Yeah I was pretty angry not too long ago…then you guys came along and I had a bit of a laugh so thank you for that.
I would also like to speak to someone so if you actually find that number please share with all of us here ^^

We risk that. My husband wants that book and i want him to have that so i can run after him and have more peeps run with us in WvW. There isnt always a commander around and it gets messy on the server when there aint.
We got the gold and i got most of it cause i worked hard for that while he upgraded the appropiate char and got it its gear
Hope handing him the gold dont get me banned again, if i ever get this account back

I am in the same boat as you. I stepped away for about 15 minutes to grab a drink and snack and returned to a black screen. When relaunching the game I get the same error. I made a ticket but no response yet. Its 24 hours and counting. I don’t use bots or any other 3rd party program. These random bans makes no sense sometimes.

But, they don’t have one.NCSoft has a customer service line. I called them yesterday they were actually pretty helpful, no waiting time either.

Did anyone else get a refund onto their CC after getting “banned”??
I checked my online statements and I saw a CHARGE.NCSOFT.COM credit back to me for what looks like the game fee on Nov. 8 (I bought the game in September) which seems like the time my account was deactivated.
When (if?!?!) my account gets reactivated after all this stupidity, are they just going to charge my card again?
I decided to head to Frostgorge Sound to gather mats while we waited for the Jormag event when my screen when black and get the error code when i try to log back in, saying my account have been terminated due to botting (with no warning)
yeah i was banned there about 2 hours ago and in last two hours it looks like AN autoban proggy went mad and banned hundreds of players. I am curious how it will end. Thats biggest MMO failure I spot im my life. Very interesting. Especially AN claimed they do not use autobanning programs….

But…they’ll tell you they only handle Billing and Fraud related things…I was one of the people banned cause Arenanet never picked up the money I transfered to them, so I used that to get in, but you can try your luck with botting bans I guess

Nice lady on the phone, But she kept saying there was nothing wrong and support was working on it. I advised her that it may be who of her to contact Public relation or someone form support to swing buy and at least let people know we exist and they are working on it.

Ok update on my Banning! Called NCSoft and got a response… Not the kind I like but better than anything else: They said: “ArenaNet does not have a customer support number but let me have your ticket number that way we can see what the status is”… Came back to tell me that my ticket was in queue to be resolved shortly and they will notify me by email of the outcome. At least someone will look at my ticket and let me know is all I have to go on for now, but all in all ArenaNet what a Badtaste. No pun intended… BTW: You can google ncsoft and get their number in the countries that they operate. On another note: google bad taste bear and pick any that apply to ArenaNet.

Anyone here have any success calling Arenanet/NCSoft regional numbers from outside of the USA? I’m an expat in France, playing on Vabbi, an EU-International home world, and to call Austin, Texas (judging by the area code) would cost an arm, a leg and a kidney.
It’s progress that we now have a number and an address, though, even if it’s just for “billing and fraud”. Might try calling it if I have no other choice in a week.

This is getting to be ridiculous. Going on 2 and a half days I’ve been falsely banned without any response. The least Anet could do is admit on the forums that they screwed up and are working to make bot detection more accurate in the future. Continuing to issue bans when they must know there’s a problem is completely unprofessional, and not admitting their mistake is insulting to paying customers.
Come on Anet. We know you’re reversing a lot of bans. Therefore we know a lot of unjustified bans were made. Own up to it like adults, and fix the problem. I’m sorry I invested so much time into this game now, and I’m extremely sorry I bought the digital deluxe. If this is how Anet is going to act, I can find another game to spend my money on.
