Guild Wars 2

Hey everyone. I returned to GW2 after a 3 year break, a new PC and new motivation. Now basically I only have 5 character slots, and 4 were always taken with 2 just being sort of “try outs” for 2 professions where I didn’t put much thought into their character/race/details etc. So… wait for it… not knowing the anniversary is based on character age not account I deleted 2 of them so I could make way for the right prof/race combo I wanted.

Now I am having a blast, and I promised myself to try not take grinding seriously so that if I am still having fun in April I will by HoT on the next sale. However, I am pretty sure there’s no character restore function and even if there were I don’t have any room lol. I’ve used my 40s scrolls and got 3 classes to 45-65 over the last few days.

Will this oversight bite me in the end? I mean atm the only really ice bonus was 4 sets of dye awards. The rest like the backpack are only 1 per account regardless of how many characters you have. I still have 2 characters eligible, but I have a feeling I may regret that decision if I am still playing in years to come.

Hey guys and girls!

I recently returned after a very long break. I have a new computer so I can now properly enjoy this game, and I spent hours just looking around sorting out my bank. I realize recently there was a 50% sale for Thorns, I accidentally left it too late and now it’s full price. I am kind of torn, I obviously paid for the original and Thorns gates a lot of interesting stuff I’d like to experience. So long story short, how often do they have these sales? Is this a rare once a year thing?

Just a nice positive thread. I was watching some GW2 videos on youtube and got that urge to play again. I am soon going to have cable and a brand new computer, I can fully take advantage of the GW world.

I had some issues with my account, and the speediness of the replies and quick help actually made me go “wow”. Definitely a lot more efficient then many other MMOs. Anyway, I was on the edge about coming back and getting Thorns, but that definitely tipped me over to do it.

Well it’s downloading. Doesn’t seem I have to do much for gear, but I can’t handle being a female human so I’ll relevel a thief or continue my giant engineer. Thanks for the response. I definitely won’t be playing that much, it’s just I was so excited for GW2 after GW1, I basically took a holiday to play it 20/24.

Anything else I should be aware off?

Hey guys. I haven’t played GW2 in about 2 years. Recently I was watching some videos, and reading, a compulsion to install and give it a final try hit me. I played a guardian, leveling an engineer to 40 and quite soon after. Mind you in the first 2 weeks I clocked over 300 hours, and I got the full explorer in like less than a week, but the WVW, poor dungeon design and skills made me eventually quit. What I did love, is the design and epic feel of the world. And to this day, it was the best leveling experience I have had in any MMO. I think now the level cap has raised? I am not sure, I think it was 60 before.

Anyway, a lot has changed. If someone could give me a quick concise run down on what I should be looking to do, that would be great. Trying to catch up on 2 years is going to take a while. Would the gear I have still be decent? I know ascendance gear is out, but I had the tier below though way back. I leveled a few profs to max, and I think I had about 20g.

Some other questions: I didn’t like that I picked a female human guardian in the end, and made my engineer a big norn, is there an option now to “race change”? Also, in your honest opinion has this game improved enough to make it worth while? I know I have nothing to lose since it’s free, but it is a massive download. Is leveling faster or about the same still? I was thinking of changing up maybe to a thief, I’ve always liked classes with stealth, but I loved guardians from GW1. I am assuming thieves can still perma stealth.
