He even went as far as to say that he would pay us gold to let him farm it.
Yep. I’ve run into four or five of these people in various places when I’m working to complete an event. I always tell them my standard “Fee to Stop” of 20g. Haven’t had one take me up on it yet, though.
Rubber banding, characters ‘ice skating’ when applying swiftness (character glitches so that the animation stops, and the character just slides along the ground at top speed, both your own and others at random) and unexpected fall damage deaths from jumping on slopes/staircases. (Jump down, take 1/3rd fall damage, lock up for a second, then scream and die.) All of these have been limited to WvW for me. I have not seen them in open world PVE.
The fall damage one can happen anywhere. I’ve had it happen in LA near FT. Mariners just a bit north of the Trading Post there.
Interesting. I certainly don’t doubt you, I’ve just never had it happen to me outside of WvW. Whatever it is that causes it must just show up more. Drives me nuts to be jumping down the stairs in a tower and suddenly die for no reason. (I guess my character fatally turns her ankle? Mom always told us not to play on the stairs.)

I propose that we allow anyone to switch a tag on another player that changes them from green status to yellow.
If your intention is that they turn yellow to all (like neutral mobs/NPCs) then this would be maximum trolling the next time a commander asks his zerg to bomb AoE on him, or blast fire fields. Troll turns commander yellow, zerg nukes their own commander.
- a member of a guild that has claimed a camp / tower / keep / castle can similarly set supply access permissions for the site, thus preventing unauthorized use of supply when necessary
What stops the troll in his one man guild from grabbing any convenient site that hasn’t yet been claimed, and denying the use of the supply? You’re basically handing them the exact result that they intend to achieve through siege trolling.
It currently says: “Reflect incoming damage back to its source; stacks duration.”
Retaliation does not reflect or mitigate damage in any way.
It should say: “Enemies take damage when they damage you; stacks duration.”
The tooltip doesn’t say that it mitigates any damage. It says that it reflects it, and that’s exactly what it does.
Guys, this is a bug and we’re working on fixing it right now. I want to take a second to remind you of two things that we’ve mentioned before: First, if you see something that you think isn’t working properly, please use /bug in game so the right people can be notified immediately. (Talking it over on the forum is fine too–sharing the details with us and other players can be enormously helpful)
Second, datamined content is unfinished and subject to an enormous amount of change, so it’s always a bad idea to make assumptions about a situation based on it.
5 months ago it was: The VIP system and items will NEVER be coming to US/EU
Now it is in the game files and it is “unfinished and subject to change”
I’ll remain skeptical… If VIP comes to US/EU I will be gone and I will do my best to take everyone I know with me.
Yeah, to be honest I am really concerned about this. Too much changing the Western version to suit the Chinese. The new leveling system is a disaster. Stop trying to force this stuff on us. It’s not going to work. Western gamers don’t like that kind of stuff. VIP is absolutely UNACCEPTABLE and I think it really would be the one thing to drive me away from this game.
“Please, pay no attention to the man behind the curtain.” – Anet
Failing an event should never be the preferable outcome.
Kudos to Anet for addressing this.
Sadly, they’re only addressing the farm by changing the timer; they are not addressing the root issue, which is that failing just the Blix part of the Blix/Jofast/etc. event chain is vastly more rewarding than completing the whole chain. Such is the case with many events and event chains in Orr and other areas.
I have no issue with farming; it’s how things get acquired in MMOs. But failing a task repeatedly should never be more rewarding than completing it, and is the issue that Anet needs to address. These farm trains should be hyped up to finish an event chain and get back to the start, not fail a single part of it over and over. That’s just bad design.
Here’s how silly it gets, my guild literally tries to jump on the dead bodies in order to try and taunt more players into coming to fight us
That’s a really counter-productive thing to do.
I’d agree. I’m a SF player and have been dipping my toes in WvW. Reading things like that doesn’t make me more inclined to jump in and play.
You can’t just put something that blocks the CC only because Anet don’t know how to deal with it properly.
It sounds more to me that you don’t understand how to deal with Defiant stacks. There’s a method to removing them, and it works just fine outside of large zerg scenarios.
It’s not as if most of them don’t get ‘locked’ in place by a zerg anyway, in spite of it. The only bosses that remain mobile through a fight are the ones that most people are afraid to melee.
I personally find that when trying to solo/duo champs, it makes it more fun and interesting that we can’t always lock them down using skills alone.
Crashing due to a "Invalid Character Motion"?

Submitted a ticket as requested, but here is some more info anyway:
Windows 7 Professional SP1
Intel Core i7-3770K
16.0GB RAM
AMD Radeon HD 7970
This has always happened to me in a city (Mostly LA) to my knowledge. It started 10 days to two weeks ago, and appears to be random. It has happened on multiple characters.

So what else is not being released with this feature pack? Your post leads me to believe that you have secret knowledge of what weeks 2 and 3 will bring.
I think it’s the odd little retainer that the Pale Tree sent away last episode so that she could talk to you in private. I don’t recall that NPC ever being there during PS, and thought it odd that he should suddenly be there to announce the PC’s presence, and then be sent away on a false errand by the Pale Tree, quite as if she did not trust him.
