i for one LOVE my ele in pvp.
it really is the mage class right now, you can dish out a colossal amount of damage but you’re extremely squishy to compensate.

theres nothing quite as epic as melting the faces of every enemy on point within seconds…
4k meteor shower ticks, 3k lavafont ticks, 3k fireballs all at the same time.
its ridiculously high aoe damage, and it comes at the price of being ridiculously squishy, fair trade
or pull out the ole’ fiery greatsword and let your enemies watch their healthpools evaporate like butter in a frying pan. >:-3

ofcourse its only for those of us who like the playstyle that massive damage and low survival offers.

i can’t speak about bunker specs because i don’t play my ele for that, but for glass cannon ele is the king of damage

try to meteor shower as full gc ele vs decent teams , you will eat the ground before one meteor hits one target.

If a team doesnt punish ele in everyteam fights , they deserve to loose badly.

eles need protection from his team to be effective. if you have an ele on your team, you make sure it served his purpose well before the enemy team kills him.

While you team mates try to protect the ele from 1 s/D thief or 1 nec or 1 hambow or 1 ranger spaming or 1 enginer ( only guardian and mesmer are ok vs ele ) , your opponents have like 2/3/4 players that can still do dmge/support/assist on everything else.
Then even if you did your job , killed 1 guy or more before u die urself , they jsut come in with the warriors with 2 x stab to rez everything , and if they fail at it , jsut call the spirit ranger.

If you ant find anything about ele since June patch+ warriors hs buff , its not that surprising.It has been nerfed to the ground when all other class were buffed.

I used to play 2x ele grp comp with Mogow ( pax winner) for almost a year , and we were pretty succesfull(top 50 eu since they released the noob ladder).After getting nerfed and fooled by anet’s patch , all decent ele left the hl pvp scene.Now we are playing different class or mooved to other games.

Ele is suited for being a dps roamer , but every class that can assume this job , just do it better , and are most of the time easyer to play.For exemple , at same skills/Gameplay mastering , ele should not win vs s/D thief , nec , rangers , warriors , which is like all the fotm class you will find ingame.

Full bunker ele with cnjured weapon(ligthing hammer) is not that bad as far point pusher.It can full cap a pointwith someone on it.But guess what , enginers can just do it better.And playing a bunker build is so boring …

The truth is you cant win top3 eu teams by having an ele in your grp comp , and every game vs a meta team comp ( 2hambow ,s/D thief, ranger)is hard to win , even if you play better than they are.

its a well known fact that devs all play warriors , why wuld they nerf their favorite class and make it hard to play ?
Playing with 1 hand and destroying every other class is so cool :o)

Didn’t they nerf the healing signet of ele’s, because there wasn’t a choice in whether to use the passive or active? Interesting that this has come up again…

And you have to use a skill if u want to get healed with ele heal signet , when warrioirs can just afk and still get ticks.

Lyssa runes are super slow. There is a gap between the condition removal and the boons. Sometimes it takes a whole second for it go come up – and it’s not a stunbreaker, man.

its like they have to nerf every thing that requires skill to play , and just up all braindead builds.

I still play ele in team Q sometimes ( im like top 50eu or used to be for a very long time).

And 90% of your game you will face 2 warrioirs team → u re screwed

They dont have any warrioirs ? nice , still a Nec and a s/D thief that will own you in 5secs.

Ele was viable before june patch. , but it was not easy to play , and burst wasnt that easy to pull off.
Now as elem , you have to play perfect to win every 1N1 , when your opponents can just make tons of mistake and still win.
In team fights , you still have nice dmge outcome , but you will be the first target in every team fights , with not so much ways to disengage/protect urself → ur team get outnumbered and u jsut loose the team fight.

And when you love elementalist , its a pain to watch this ,Ele is so fun to play , it requires skills to be effective.Then 1 ranger come (culd be any other class) spam 1 for 90% of the time , and he just win.

It s not a secret why all good eles left or just played another class when it comes to hl pvp. (Mogow left , Karsaib went hambow soldier )

There are so much things that will kill you without any real effort as Elementalist.You always have to outplay your opponent hard

Game state was much better before June patch , and i guess most of us had lot of fun during this period.

Sword needed a nerf for sure , as alll the mechanics from S/D or S/P.

THe skill 2 is just too powerfull when you have infinite init , becuz u can use it to break stun , avoid dmge , cure condi , and many more.

Then the endurence regen is way too high considering u have vigor on heal + regenend while dodging.and when you run out of , just use the signet for more dodge spaming.If you manage to use all your end , which is nto usual , u can use teh skill 3 while it regens.

IF you cant see that sword was way too powerfull the way it ws used , its becuz you are blind or smthing.Its like the most permissive gameplay u can find on thief , infinite dodge ,infinite init , decent cure condition , very good mobility .And dmge still good becuz you have no down time of dps , u can just use 2 , 1 , 3 , then port back again ( repeat this gaY(mer) pattern for ever.

nb. i play thief and i played s/D thief for 3 month and when you go back to smthing else like a 10 30 0 0 30 d/P , you just learn again how to play , and what a theif should grants u : high risk but high reward.

But they didnt say anything about healing signet being nerf , which is one of the biggest issues when ufight any kind of warrioir build…

Phaeton , its not a matter of weap sets.

The guy could play gs + lb or anything …Until he has the healing signet he will be over the top.And if he runs with necro pendant or soldier , it will be even harder to get him.

I respect warrioirs that doesnt run total broken builds (aka hambow , condi , or any soldier build) , but when it comes to healing signet , every fight it unfair…

LOL this guy should play class that requires skill to be effective, so mb he could see how healing signet on war is kitten strong.

First thing :
Warrior can tank any class 1N1 , he can run with zerk , condtion ,or even a soldier pendant , he will just do tons of direct dmge/ high hp + armor + condi removal and imune + break stuns + stab .

2nd thing :
the L2P / L2 dodge part which was really funny to read.Even if you can dodge the hammers skills , warrioir is so permisive that u can tank while ur cd comes back.Then when u can get 1 cc/root and the guy as no stun breaker on , its pretty over for him.(and i guess everyone here is happy to see that the warrioir will heal for 3K hp while u are stunned)

Tbh warrioir is so permissive that u can’t just loose any 1N1 , with warrioirs its NO RISK , HIGH REWARD.

Why the muck anet dont nerf the healing value….

i m not sure if owning hj noobs that dont even know how a s/d thief works needs to be recorded.
And yes , the init management with this build is ridiculous….Its just about to spam 2 keys and sometimes healing + disengage with shadownstep/skill 2 when its getting dangerous.

this build is really kitten in my opinion.

Before implanting 1n1 , get a fair Balance over the class , and pls fix all the kitten bugs/glitch.

Until they dont fix this , no way to have “E sport” or fair 1n1 match

You got guys that disband their team , but still play together with exact same ppl.You know why ? its because now ppl cant laugh about thoose “teams” when they got destroyed by soloQ or Pug.

Tbh i really think rangers need a fix asap , and im not the only one saying this, most ppl i know/play with/against would say the same.

but i understand that some rangers already feel nostalgic of “good days” and come here to QQ before they get a nerf , but it will come no worries.

I’d like to have an honnest ranger point of view.DO you find it hard to let your pet win your 1n1 while u can cook , study , whatever u want ?

i’ll just sum up how it comes when my ele is facing a ranger 1n1 on a point:
vs bm ranger :
-you try to burst him without cc → doesnt work cuz evade
-you try to burst him while he is cc → nvm he got 3K armor
-while you try to dps him , and running intoo a circle ( makes u dodge the pet attack) , u get hitted once by the pet : wow 7 k dmge
-U try to heal with water or spaming any other skills cuz u are playing with signet: oh wait he uses the burning aoe from torch.
-While you QQ because the bm still with 70 %+ hp and u just use 25 skills per second to stay alive , the pet hits u again for 5/6K

Now same situation vs ranger Trap ( which is not as op as the bm)
You are on the point and the ranger comes :
-u try for your usual dps combo
-ranger is setting a trap that nearly takes all the node while he dodge/not taking so much dmge from your burst
- he cc you on the trap then 111111111111111→ you have to use smthing to get out fast or dispell condi or ull loose 3/4 of ur hp in 3sec
-so u managed to evade off the trap , oh wait u still need to heal cuz u couldnt cure all conditions at the same time
- you try to dps the MF ranger again , burst wasnt enough to get him down :/
-Traps are up again , now 2 things to do : die like a galdiator on the arena , or go away and let him cap the point until friends comes to hlp you.

ESPORT

Once i saw a friend playing with a dirty phantasm build , he was very hard to kill 1N1 , even with my condi thief who usually crush ALL mesmer.

So i just decided to test it myself , and was the first time palying mesmer. after 2 hours of play , i was able to win 80% of my 1n1 ( and most of them were vs exprerienced players)

SO yeah the phantasm build is very strong in 1n1 but he is not so effective in tpvp match because pets will die fast in team fight , you cant hold a point as good as a shatter mesmer with portal , and as dps roamer , theres much better than a mesmer^^

So phantasm mesmer are just ok with the current state of the game , and they can be beaten for sure , Mesmers are very weak to conditions , if you manage to apply poison then any other condi like burning or bleeding , they will die .

Ranger being op is not an opinion , its a fact.

Here another tpvp story : Yesterday i’ve met a team on spirit watch , that was playing with 2 guardians and 3 ranger.THat was so ESPORT man , 3 pet chassing guys all over the map , dealing 7k dmge on me with 1 hit of bird while i have 2600 armor.

SO i just decided to not play tpvp anymore on this map , playing soloqueu is already a pain because you face premade 80% of the time , then u just have to face NOOB class played by halfbrained ppl on a kitten map full of bug ( yesterday orb not popping lolz)

I play elementalist , and i know that we have been nerfed a lot , specially on spirit watch where ele was way too powerfull.

So yesterday night i decided to play some SoloQ tn and matched a premade with a Ranger orb runner.Ofc the match wasnt fair but thats not the purpose of it , i just noticed that 1 ranger with the orb is running faster than iam to the point , even while i dont own any orb or getting any root/snare .

So in 1 hand we have 1 ele that is supposed to have a decent mobility , then 1 ranger who is supposed to be slowed while running the orb but in fact he just run faster than anyone else

I think most ppl here knows that ranger is a broken class atm , i just hope that they will get what they deserve..

SO ITS TIME TO GO CRY ABOUT RANGERS EVERYDAY ON FORUMS , AS THEY DID WITH THIEF OR ELE !

Yeah thats one of the crucial thing missing on ranger. COnsidering most ppl playing it are pros , no doubt they need some buff again while badbad elementalist just deserve more nerf …

Now its time to go cry about bm ranger ^^

YEah we left WvW 2 month ago for spvp ,and we are having much fun there even if we odnt have any team running on.

That duels were fun even if we lost some , im a bit rusty on thief been playing mostly ele for 2 month now and im not used to new 4 sec imune.

i got ot admit that engin are really hard to fight , they stack so much condi and so fast , they got like all the condi of the game .

anyway keep playing like this , thats much better than zerging.
