I really don’t understand how people can’t find the Living Story content a bit refreshing once in a while. Yeah the missions and achievements are a bit redundant but I do not know what people expect? It can sometimes bring a bit of life to maps that were not as heavily populated in a long time.

I agree, I do understand them however everyone has an own opinion and we all like different things ^^ Good thing to if we all liked the same things the world would be a pretty uniform and dull place

Man.. you must have played another LS than me.

The LS i played was always the same mission just in another area.
Huge enemy mops zerked down my many people.
Even the archivements were the same.
I do not care i have to zerk down someone to get to a balloon tower with a chest or zerk someone down in a Round arena to get a chest.
It’s always the same. Even the opponents were always the same.

I speak just for myself here when i say i am happy that the LS is gone.
They need to work on a map expansion to get at least close to the map from GW1.
Not to mention the expansions to Cantha and Elona.
I would love to sacrifice LS2 for that

I don’t care if they update LS content or not but I want something, anything ….
Right now we didn’t get anything new and exciting for a long time.

New content maps like you said would be awesome but I don’t see that happening soon. I’d be content if they cooked up some halfbaked mission to do but the big blob of nothing is really frustrating o_O

When is that next LS storyline happening? Because after months of hardly any playable content I am simply starting to get bored. (don’t get me wrong the feature pack has some nice features but i see em all in less than an hour)

I play WvW and PvP every single thing you can imagine in GW2 I played it but doing the same things over and over becomes repetative. The LS was a great way to keep things exciting and provide players like me with a constant influx of new missionto fullfill and goals to achieve.

So I am litterally begging you as one who has played from the very beginning of GW1 and 2 …. get some new content ingame asap anything just something to get me going again cause for the first time in years I’m bored playing a version of GW.

*Any content will do just something to break the daily routine… *

Rolin, it is probably a corrupted file somewhere in the installation.
I recon A-net will have to patch it to make it work again but in the meantime here’s what you can try:
1) Completely de-install GW2 from your computer, personal maps included (you can copy them to an external disk if theres files in em that you don’t wanna lose)
2) when you are sure all traces of GW2 have been removed simply reinstall the game client from scratch.

It seems simple but many errors can often be solved by a reinstall

the last minute in the teaser video seems to be the lions arch asura portals unpowered and broken so I think it will be an assault on Lions arch causing great damage. Can also explain the extra unpowered portals the asura have been building since the beginning of lions arch as they might replace the current capital-gateways in the long run?

that place to hang ouyt you talk about is called a guild hall, it was present in GW1 and is already confirmed to be present in GW2 in the future. Just be patient about this thing

Guildwapes is reasonable fashionable but I doubt they will bring them back (they too were a part of GW1)

I agree, as a guildleader I really miss being able to see how long someone has been inactive.

I’m not asking for things like guild halls etc. at the moment all I want is the ability to see last login of my members and maybe as a second and third thing the ability to set different access levels for the deep cave than for the treasure trove and finally the ability to send a mail to all my members simultaniously .

Just those 3 things in a soon to be update and the guildsystem would be tons better already!

Okay mate because you’re new to the game I’ll give you some advice because some the things you’re mising are ingame after all.
PvP is a big aspect in GW2 true but not everyone is so repulsed by PvP as you do ofcourse and Arenanet wants to keep as much customers as they can happy as any company would.

Now I do think there is enough PvE for you to do, theres so many storylines, dungeons, jumping puzzles, living story missions, … (I’m probably forgetting a large number of things) You just need to find them and get yourself to it.

Now depending on your build your game experience can be dramatically different, when I’m on my mesmer I don’t have to try doing the same crazy things I do on my warrior. xD

Now if you miss raids there are 2 things you can do, one is implemented ingame exactly to create raids for players: Dungeons!

The second one you just do yourself, join a guild who frequently does raids and famring trips into Orr or other high level area’s.
You could make a nice profit out of it, just saying

Now it could be I have not convinced you but I do hope I have driven you so far as to reconsider your opinion a little (if only a bit I’m content :P)
I hope you have some value on my post so I did not just waste a couple of minutes of my life :P

they’ve already said that in time guild halls etc will be available but it will take some time and most likely not happen tommorrow yet

this is not an option it simply has to be done …
Managing guilds right now is like trying to win a race with only one leg…
the tools are incomplete en inadequate they have to make this a priority…

thats a huge disability for guildmanagers … :O

Hope they fix it soon cause even crappy games have the option to send groupbased emails.

Treebeard, what you own is not saved on your computer but on their database servers so don’t worry you won’t lose any progress or stuff

Having same problem starts to lagg horribly in WvW then it gets completely stuck and the only way to get it up and running again is closing the application and starting GW2.exe over again.

My computer is like 6 months olf and has a strong graphics card with 16GB RAM, this isn’t normal behaviour for a game on a computer like mine, not even for Guild Wars 2.

Please fix this ASAP it’s annoying for your entire community of players Anet!

Our guild OAT has the same problem as well, I’m the only member showing all our upgrades and influence has disappeared and our Guild Symbol is all messed up.

I’m making my way towards the Orr area – 6 zones left to complete the world explorer.

Sounds like people just hate this area because it’s too difficult. Maybe that is the reason – it’s a challenge?

Challenge nahh. It’s more of an annoyance then a challenge. Go Fight some Karka for a little while, then go back to Orr. Then tell me if you rather be in Orr then Southsun Cove.

So it’s quite annoying going against the mobs in Orr? Maybe too many players try to solo those areas and fail. Perhaps, those areas put more emphasis towards team work (guild).

Orr is quite easy to farm/solo. Yet I have to agree the scenery and mobs are quite mono-based, hardly any variety in them. I was quitly hopeing that when Trahearne finished cleansing orr the whole area would light up and change into something nice with great capabilities. Yet no such luck still the same dead and dull place as ever.
Loot however is pretty acceptable as you can get 1G after couple hours of farming fairly easy.

ooh so once we’re lvl 80 on our characters the “error” should disappear then?

I have the same thing happening with a tray recipe.
Hopefully someone will have a good answer to solve it.

influence and upgrades are serverbound, meaning when you change server you lose all upgrades and influence. People who remained on the old server however will still have acces to the upgrades and influence.

It’s not a bug it’s just one of the downsides of changing a server which you should consider before changing server
If you want it all back I suggest you transfer back to your previous server.

I really hope its included in the update to activate the event

question to Arenanet: When will you people solve this? Because after more than 24 hours my patience is growing pretty thin I recon :S

Know you guys have allot more than just my problem but still some updates would be nice, a sollution would be even better.

Right now when I try to buy gems using paypal I keep getting the same error page when Guild wars redirects me to the paypal payment page.

ok so the patch they just did has done nothing for me to get rid of the errors. I still cannot buy any gems. Although I no longer get the java-error using paypal the proceed to paypal button remains grey and only turns clickable when quickly clicking previous en next again. Once I reach the payment window it gives me error finalising your purchase so … still not solved I recon anyone else still experiencing issues?

getting the error message as well nothing we can do but wait till there’s less peepz downloading i guess ….

Well the error really tells us what’s going on actually you don’t have to be a Java expert.
There is an error redirecting the input choice towards the payment model listing.
The question Arenanet will have to solve is: “Is the error in the coding itself or in the input used by the coding?”

on the tech forum moderator said gem store europe is having some problems and that Arenanet is looking into it. He’ll notify us when there is any news.

no that ended, they gave an end date for the maintenance saying it would only last 3 hours downtime. So their update probably resulted into a bug of some sort hopefully they’ll be able to adress it soon.

I’ve got the same message, at first I had to enter my country but the next button stayed grey. After refreshing he did accept my country and I get redirected to the error screen shown on your screenshot.

Now the error seems to be in java-code so I think there is something wrong in their java-written code for the buy-system. Arenanet will have to look into this and soon because it is most likely that allot of users will receive the same error.

Never had anything quite as challenging as this puzzle before. xD

Finally got the tower done after a staggering 9 hours of playing the same course over again (I’m not that good in jumping puzzles people xD) I’m glad I got it but I have my doubts some of my friends will be able to get the achievement so in my personal opinion it could do with some improvement. Like others have said making the tower solo so other bigger characters won’t block your view is probably a decent course of action. (had a little trouble there myself at first only when I got my character naked it stood out and I could identify him in the flesh pile that formed on the jumping puzzle)

Anyone can do the puzzle if you are willing to spend as much time as it takes but lets be honest not everyone has that much time to spend. Does that mean they do not deserve the same achievement like you and me got? I think they should be able to get it as not being able to spend as much time in the game as a hardcore gamer doesn’t mean you’re a worse player than him.

Too bad slippers are soulbound tho I’d have been even more extatic if they were worth allot of money on the BLTC xD

My conclusion again: The puzzle could use minor improvements for the standard player with little time.

I discovered my mystic tonic recipe by accident just experiment with some stuff and you’ll find it but it doesn’t have any good use i recon so why would you want to make em?

if you experience problems it will most likely be serverrelated because some people don’t experience problems. It might help support if you mention your servername to them as well so they can look to that particular server in more detail i guess

Well that I can certainly support it could give a little more edge to certain aspects in the game. Now the development of the new creaturetype is more of a concern for Arenanet though evethough we can come up with suggestions ofcourse ^^

However they’d have to make sure to implement it in such a way that owning or using a beast of burden would not give you a huge overall advantage. But I guess I’m running ahead of things let’s just see first whether Arenanet decides to implement it in future update somewhere or not.

While I do like the idea of there also being some good centaurs out there like our old friend Zhed Shadowhoof from Nightfall, I must say I don’t support the idea of horsebackriding on centaurs.

In my eyes it’s like comparing cats with dogs, Centaurs aren’t horses nor do they wish to be. Every race inside they game has a certain character, a racial personality. Centaurs ingame are portrayed as proud sentient creatures that feel they have been abused and stolen from by humans. (as you recall in Vabbi (nightfall) they were used as beasts of burden and slaves)

This in my eyes would strongly support them never wanting to be put into the beast of burden role (like a horse) again.

Now at first in Nightfall Zhed didn’t like our human character at all, it was only after having being forced to work together a certain bond of trust and respect popped up.

In conclusion my opinion is horsebackriding/mounting could be a future idea to look into but I would strongly suggest not involving the centaur race as it would completely decimate everything the game tells us centaurs characteristics are.

Yet we could involve another horselike creature (not being a centaur) to play this beast of burden race, something less proud more horse-like in its own mind.

if you buy gems pretty regular basis there is a chance they flag you as a high risk user (anti-fraudprogram) and then you’ll be auto-blocked from buygin new gems within certain amount of time.

In you support ticket you can ask wether you have been blocked from purchases like somany others and if they (arenanet) could maybe temporarely override the blockade (they can just remove the block with the click of a button for like 24 – 48 hours)

well … yeah it has.
The game has its flaws and errors but so do all new games in the beginning.
I seriously hope they’ll get rid of the bugs and bots though nonetheless it has been money well spend, giving me hours of relaxation and amusement.

Well I’ve been extremely lucky with black lion chest drops… however the keys seem not to wanna drop.

I’ve got a staggering 400+ black lion chests but my good luck no keys to use on them.
Quite unwilling to buy key’s for al them chests as well seeing as it would cost me a small fortune in real life money.

I’ll probably just put them on BLTC to get rid of the junk…

well I’d sure like the option to get different town clothing to its something I’ve been missing for a while now. It is purely cosmetic though

it was like this for me after the last update to, however it seems rebooting GW2 solved the problem for me.

So if this problem persists try shutting the game down completely and rebooting it after few minutes. In case your virusscanner might message you the program has been changed make sure your virusscanner doesn’t block the program from gaining access to internet with its new fucntions.

Did all of this end up in a failure to solve the problem write a support query to Arenanet-support. They should be able to answer you within 36 hours (at least thats the amount of time they ussually take for answering me)

Arenanet has informed me that safety measures have been implemented in gem-puchases.
This was due to the growing problem of Creditcard-fraud.
Simply speaking they implemented limits on how much gems you can buy per household in a certain timespan.
It will most likely remain this way but I can’t say for sure as I am in no way affiliated with Arenanet.

If your purchases continue to fail I would suggest contacting support and explicitely asking them if they can remove the limits on your account for a couple of hours.
They did this for me once which lasted 48 hours afterwards they reimplemented the limits.

I am suffering again as well so far not being able to buy gems but I have written support once more about temporarely removing the limits on my account.

I agree I don’t understand the restrictions either because paypal is one of the safest ways out there to do internet-transactions. Everything is verified about paypal.
I asked them for an explenation but we shall see their answer

Thanks for contacting us!

In reviewing your account, I can see that I am able to override your purchase restriction for 48 hours. Please make your purchase within this time frame. If you are unable to make the purchase within that time, you may need to contact us again.

If you still experience issues, please let me know."

So we can conclude that Arenanet has put restrictions on how much transactions people can make in a certain amount of time. I’ve asked them why they have these restrictions put in place and wether they will eventually be removed. If I receive another update I’ll be sure to let you all know.
